Health Improvement; Health Education, Health Promotion and the Settings Approach

  • This paper develops the argument that the 'Healthy Cities Approach' extends beyond the boundaries of officially designated Healthy Cities and suggests that signs of it are evident much more widely in efforts to promote health in the United Kingdom and in national policy. It draws on examples from Leeds, a major city in the north of England. In particular, it suggests that efforts to improve population health need to focus on the wider determinants and that this requires a collaborative response involving a range of different sectors and the participation of the community. Inequality is recognised as a major issue and the need to identify areas of deprivation and direct resources towards these is emphasised. Childhood poverty is referred to and the importance of breaking cycles of deprivation. The role of the school is seen as important in contributing to health generally and the compatibility between Healthy Cities and Health Promoting Schools is noted. Not only can Health Promoting Schools improve the health of young people themselves they can also develop the skills, awareness and motivation to improve the health of the community. Using child pedestrian injury as an example, the paper argues that problems and their cause should not be conceived narrowly. The Healthy Cities movement has taught us that the response, if it is to be effective, should focus on the wider determinants and be adapted to local circumstances. Instead of simply attempting to change behaviour through traditional health education we need to ensure that the environment is healthy in itself and supports healthy behaviour. To achieve this we need to develop awareness, skills and motivation among policy makers, professionals and the community The 'New Health' education is proposed as a term to distinguish the type of health education which addresses these issues from more traditional forms.

  • 본 논문에서는 Zigbee 무선통신모듈과 RSS(Received Signal Strength) 측위 방식을 이용하여 다단계 TSS(Transmission Signal Strength)기술을 적용한 실내측위 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 특히 실내공간에서 효과적으로 사용할 수 있는 확률적 알고리즘과 영역인식 알고리즘을 적용하여 위치정+확도에 대한 신뢰를 높이고자 하였다. 또한 1차원공간과 2차원 공간에서의 실험을 통해 공간의 형태에 따라 반사나, 회절, 멀티패스 등의 영향으로 변화하는 전파환경을 고려한 효과적인 측위 시스템을 확인하고자 하였다. 특히 약자나 환자에 대한 긴급 상황 발생 시 해당 위치를 찾아 신속한 대응이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구의 측위 시스템은 교통 IT 분야에 적용하여 사용 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 인간과 환경사이의 물리적 또는 심리적 인터액션을 통한 인간중심의 적절한 서비스를 제공하는 공간지능화(iSpace: Intelligent Space) 구현하고자 네트웍 센서 인식공간을 소개하고 있다. 영상 데이터 처리 및 정보 네트웍 기능을 갖는 다수의 컬러 CCD 카메라를 iSpace 공간에 분산 배치하였다. iSpace내의 정보획득을 위한 네트웍 센서를 분산 지능형 네트웍 디바이스(DIND: Distributed Intelligent Network Devices)라고 명명하고 있으며, 각 DIND는 일종의 클라이언트 역할을 수행하도록 하였으며, DIND는 카메라 센서를 이용하는 이른바 카메라 네트워크를 구성한 것으로 이를 통해 실내 환경을 인식하고 모델링 하며 공간 내 거주자의 의도를 인식하기 위한 시스템을 구축하였다.

도심 노후산업지구 도시재생사업 사례연구 (A Case Study on Urban Regeneration Projects for Declined Industrial Districts in Downtown Area)

  • 도심의 노후 쇠퇴한 산업지구는 삶의 질과 지역경제 활성화 측면에서 새로운 산업의 유치와 도시환경개선 등의 도시재생을 필요로 한다. 본 연구는 국외 선진사례의 분석을 통하여 도심 노후산업지구 도시재생사업의 방법론적 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 공공과 민간이 협력하여 첨단산업과 문화산업을 유치 도입함으로써 도시재생에 성공한 대표적인 사례인 미국 시애틀의 '사우스 레이크 유니언'과 포틀랜드의 '펄 디스트릭트'를 사례로 문헌고찰과 사례분석을 진행하였다. 사례분석의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 토지용도는 업무 상업 주거의 복합용도로, 건축물 용도는 업무시설 상업시설 위락시설 주거시설 등으로 변화되었다. 둘째, 보행 친화적 가로환경, 공원 및 오픈스페이스, 대중교통시설, 생활지원시설 등 이용자 중심의 기반시설이 확충되었다. 셋째, 기존 도시구조 및 조직 유지, 건축물 리노베이션, 산업유산의 보전 등을 통한 장소정체성 제고가 이루어졌다.

복합상업시설에서의 아동 동반 고객 행태분석을 통한 미아 발생원인 고찰 (A Study on the Causes of Child Loss through Behavioral Analysis of Customers Accompanied with Children in Urban Entertainment Centers)

  • Although the number of child loss in commercial facilities has been growing recently, the prevention method for child loss are still lacking in the environmental aspect. This research examines the causes of lost child in behavioral aspects in order to develop a guideline to prevent child loss in U.E.C. The observational study on the behaviors of guardians and children was conducted in the U.E.C that is visited by many customers accompanied with children. Then the results of the observational study were marked on the behavioral maps. After analyzing the behavioral maps, the causes of child loss were determined by classifying into behaviors by age and behaviors by functional space. As a result, when guardian is unable to pay attention to child by doing something else such as making a purchase, or an inquiry, child may lose guardian by going towards the interesting factors or playing around. Moreover, if the spaces related to children are located at the node with high pedestrian density and open structure or the environment that is hard for the guardians to watch over their children, it will be easy for guardians to be inattentive to their children, and get separated from each other.

새로운 팔 스윙 보행 패턴 기반 보행 안전 시스템 (A New Arm Swing Walking Pattern-based Walking Safety System)

  • 본 논문에서는 고령 보행자의 안전한 보행을 위한 새로운 팔 스윙 보행 패턴 기반 보행안전 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 시스템은 스마트 밴드, 스마트 워치 등 햅틱 기반의 디바이스를 활용한 고령 보행자용 보행 안전 시스템으로 기존의 하지 운동의 보행 패턴으로 보행자의 낙상 상황을 인지하기 어려운 문제점을 해결하기 위해 팔 스윙 기반의 보행 패턴을 활용한다. 팔 스윙 기반 보행 패턴은 디바이스의 가속도 센서를 이용한 팔의 스윙을 통해 걸음수 및 보행자의 낙상 상황을 인지하며 낙상 상황이 발생하는 위치를 데이터베이스화하여 고령 보행자에게 낙상 발생 예상 위치 근처를 보행할 시 경고 메시지를 전달하여 고령자에게 보행 안전을 제공한다. 이러한 시스템을 통해 고령자의 안전한 보행 권리 및 환경 개선할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

강원도 스마트시티 발전방향 설정에 관한 연구 (Study on the Development Direction of a Smart City in Gangwon-do)

  • This research was conducted to propose the basic direction of a smart city plan for the satisfaction of residents of Gangwon-do. Initially, the awareness of smart cities among the residents of Gangwon-do was as follows: The response "I have no idea" was 21.7% higher and "I do not know the details, but have heard of it" was 15.1% lower than the awareness among residents across the nation. Based on these results, it was confirmed that awareness was very low despite the government's smartification reinforcement policy. In addition, the residents of Gangwon-do expected that their time would be saved and their living convenience would increase but were worried that their privacy would be invaded and that the conflict between generations would intensify. Thus, it is necessary to develop a plan to enhance the awareness of smart cities, as well as a plan to enhance digital awareness. Second, based on the importance of and satisfaction with the urban problem response system examined among the residents of Gangwon-do, it seems necessary to prioritize improvements in public space control and administrative problem responses involving deteriorated parks/plazas, pedestrian environment, and administrative processing inefficiency and fairness. Additionally, the first prioritization priority of the residents of Gangwon-do was "health/welfare/medical service" (27.7%); the second and third highest priorities were "transportation service" (26.3%) and "environmental service" (19.0%), respectively. In particular, as "transportation service" was highly preferred in the Chuncheon and Wonju regions and "health/welfare/medical service" was highly preferred in the Gangneung, Sokcho, and other southern regions, it was confirmed that the level of urbanization is deeply associated with smart services.

  • Roadside greenery in the city is not only a means of reducing fine dust, but also an indispensable element of the city in various aspects such as improvement of urban thermal environment, noise reduction, ecosystem connectivity, and aesthetics. However, in studies dealing with the effect of reducing fine dust through trees in existing urban spaces, microscopic aspects such as the adsorption effect of plants were dealt with, structural changes such as the width of urban buildings and streets, and the presence or absence of trees, Impact studies that reflect the actual form of In this study, the effect of greenery composition applicable to urban space on PM2.5 was simulated through the microclimate epidemiologic model ENVI-met, and field measurements were performed in parallel to verify the results. In addition, by analyzing the results of fine dust background concentration, wind speed, and leaf area index, the sensitivity to major influencing variables was tested. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that the fine dust reduction effect was the highest in the case with a high planting amount, and the reduction effect was the greatest at a low background concentration. Based on this, the cost of planting street green areas and the effect of reducing PM2.5 were compared. The results of this study can contribute as a basis for considering the effect of pedestrian space on air quality when planning and designing street green spaces.

디스플레이형 자판기 사용자 분석을 위한 이중 단계 검출 및 분류 망 (2-Stage Detection and Classification Network for Kiosk User Analysis)

  • 시각 정보를 이용한 기계 학습 기술은 주변 상황 인지, 결함 감지, 보안 그리고 사용자 분석과 같이 산업, 서비스 분야에서 활용성이 높아졌다. 그 중 CCTV 영상 분석을 통한 사용자 분석은 시각 정보를 잘 활용하는 실용적인 부분이라고 할 수 있다. 또한 이러한 임베디드 환경에서의 실용성을 높이기 위한 신경 회로망 경량화에 대한 연구가 지속되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 디스플레이형 자판기인 키오스크에서 활용할 수 있는 사람 및 얼굴 검출과 사용자의 나이 및 성별 분류 시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 모델은 MobileNet, YOLOv2, 생략 연결을 기반으로 설계되었으며, 검출과 분류 망을 개별적으로 학습한 뒤 결합한 2-stage 구조를 띈다. 또한 주의 집중 기법을 사용하여 시스템의 성능을 향상시키고자 하였다. 제안하는 시스템에 대한 구동과 성능 평가는 소형 그래픽 처리 유닛인 Nvidia Jetson Nano에서 진행하였다.

가상환경에서 OSM을 활용한 자율주행 실증 맵 성능 연구 (Study on Map Building Performance Using OSM in Virtual Environment for Application to Self-Driving Vehicle)

  • In recent years, automated vehicles have garnered attention in the multidisciplinary research field, promising increased safety on the road and new opportunities for passengers. High-Definition (HD) maps have been in development for many years as they offer roadmaps with inch-perfect accuracy and high environmental fidelity, containing precise information about pedestrian crossings, traffic lights/signs, barriers, and more. Demonstrating autonomous driving requires verification of driving on actual roads, but this can be challenging, time-consuming, and costly. To overcome these obstacles, creating HD maps of real roads in a simulation and conducting virtual driving has become an alternative solution. However, existing HD maps using high-precision data are expensive and time-consuming to build, which limits their verification in various environments and on different roads. Thus, it is challenging to demonstrate autonomous driving on anything other than extremely limited roads and environments. In this paper, we propose a new and simple method for implementing HD maps that are more accessible for autonomous driving demonstrations. Our HD map combines the CARLA simulator and OpenStreetMap (OSM) data, which are both open-source, allowing for the creation of HD maps containing high-accuracy road information globally with minimal dependence. Our results show that our easily accessible HD map has an accuracy of 98.28% for longitudinal length on straight roads and 98.42% on curved roads. Moreover, the accuracy for the lateral direction for the road width represented 100% compared to the manual method reflected with the exact road data. The proposed method can contribute to the advancement of autonomous driving and enable its demonstration in diverse environments and on various roads.
