Optimum design of lead-rubber bearing system with uncertainty parameters

  • In this study, a non-stationary random earthquake Clough-Penzien model is used to describe earthquake ground motion. Using stochastic direct integration in combination with an equivalent linear method, a solution is established to describe the non-stationary response of lead-rubber bearing (LRB) system to a stochastic earthquake. Two parameters are used to develop an optimization method for bearing design: the post-yielding stiffness and the normalized yield strength of the isolation bearing. Using the minimization of the maximum energy response level of the upper structure subjected to an earthquake as an objective function, and with the constraints that the bearing failure probability is no more than 5% and the second shape factor of the bearing is less than 5, a calculation method for the two optimal design parameters is presented. In this optimization process, the radial basis function (RBF) response surface was applied, instead of the implicit objective function and constraints, and a sequential quadratic programming (SQP) algorithm was used to solve the optimization problems. By considering the uncertainties of the structural parameters and seismic ground motion input parameters for the optimization of the bearing design, convex set models (such as the interval model and ellipsoidal model) are used to describe the uncertainty parameters. Subsequently, the optimal bearing design parameters were expanded at their median values into first-order Taylor series expansions, and then, the Lagrange multipliers method was used to determine the upper and lower boundaries of the parameters. Moreover, using a calculation example, the impacts of site soil parameters, such as input peak ground acceleration, bearing diameter and rubber shore hardness on the optimization parameters, are investigated.

  • Wind measurements were made on the Canton Tower at a height of 461 m above ground during the Typhoon Vincente, the wind-induced accelerations and displacements of the tower were recorded as well. Comparisons of measured wind parameters at upper level of atmospheric boundary layer with those adopted in wind tunnel testing were presented. The measured turbulence intensity can be smaller than the design value, indicating that the wind tunnel testing may underestimate the crosswind structural responses for certain lock-in velocity range of vortex shedding. Analyses of peak factors and power spectral density for acceleration response shows that the crosswind responses are a combination of gust-induced buffeting and vortex-induced vibrations in the certain range of wind directions. The identified modal frequencies and mode shapes from acceleration data are found to be in good agreement with existing experimental results and the prediction from the finite element model. The damping ratios increase with amplitude of vibration or equivalently wind velocity which may be attributed to aerodynamic damping. In addition, the natural frequencies determined from the measured displacement are very close to those determined from the acceleration data for the first two modes. Finally, the relation between displacement responses and wind speed/direction was investigated.

연소실 직접분사식 성층급기 가솔린기관 개발에 관한 연구 - 연료분사압력과 부하변동에 따른 연소특성 해석 - (A Study on Stratified Charge GDI Engine Development - Combustion Analysis according to the Variations of Injection Pressure and Load -)

  • In general, DI gasoline engine has the advantages of higher power output, higher thermal efficiency, higher EGR tolerance and lower emissions due to the operation characteristics of increased volumetric efficiency, compression ratio and ultra-lean combustion scheme. In order to apply the concept of stratified charge into direct injection gasoline engine, some kinds of methodologies have been adapted in various papers. In this study, a reflector was adapted around the injector nozzle to apply the concept of stratified charge combustion which leads the air-fuel mixture to be rich near spark plug. Therefore, the mixture near the spark plug is locally rich to ignite while the lean mixture is wholly introduced into the combustion chamber. The characteristics of combustion is analyzed with the variations of fuel injection pressure and load in a stratified -charge direct injection single cylinder gasoline engine. The obtained results are summarized as follows ; 1. The MBT spark timing approached to TDC with the increase of load on account of the increase of evaporation energy, but has little relation with fuel injection pressure. 2. The stratification effects are apparent with the increase of injection pressure. It is considered by the development of secondary diffusive combustion and the increase of heat release of same region, but proceed rapidly than diesel engine. Especially, in the case of high pressure injection (l70bar) and high load (3.0kgf m), the diffusive combustion parts are developed excessively and results in the decrease of peak pressure than in the case of middle load. 3. The index of engine stability, COVimep value, is drastically decreased with the increase of load. 4. To get better performance of DI gasoline engine development, staged optimizaion must be needed such as injection pressure, reflector, intake swirl, injection timing, chamber shape, ignition system and so on. In this study, the I50bar injection pressure is appeared as the optimum.

가역투자율을 이용한 초초임계압 페라이트기 강의 고온 등온열화 평가 (Characterization of the High-temperature Isothermal Aging in USC Ferritic Steel Using Reversible Permeability)

  • 차세대 발전소재로 주목 받고 있는 초초임계압 페라이트기 강의 고온 등온열화손상을 평가하였다. 고온 등온열화에 따른 가역 투자율을 측정하여 미세조직 변화와의 상관성과 그 영향에 관하여 연구하였다. 고온 등온열화는 미세한 템퍼링 석출물($Cr_{23}C_6$)을 성장시키고, 새로운 금속간 화합물($Fe_2W$)을 생성시켰으며 급격한 조대화를 보였다. 또한, 래스 내부의 전위밀도를 크게 감소시켰다. 가역투자율로부터 측정한 동적 보자력은 등온열화 초기 약 500시간 이내에 급격하게 감소하고 이후 서서히 감소하였다. 이는 자벽에 대한 고착점의 개수감소와 밀접한 관련이 있으며, 미세한 석출물, 전위 및 마르텐사이트 래스와 관련된다.

  • 교환결합된 NiFe/FeMn 이중박막에서 Laser 열처리를 통하여 국소적인 자화반전을 연구하였다. 600 G의 외부 자기장을 시편에 가하면서 DPSS Laser로 자화 반전시켰으며, 300 mW에서 15분 동안 국소적인 부분을 조사하였다. 국소적으로 자화반전 시킨 박막을 다시 원래 방향으로 역 반전시켜 자기저항(MR)곡선 피크가 감소된 것을 관찰하였다. 이는 직접적으로 Laser를 가한 박막의 손상과 계면에서 내부 확산에 의한 것으로 생각된다 국소적인 반전 자화의 자구구조는 MU을 통하여 관찰하였다. 자화반전 영역에서 새로운 자구벽을 형성하였으며, Laser가 조사된 영역근처에서 자구벽이 형성된 것을 관찰하였다.

적응 PIF Gain 및 가변구조 제어기를 사용한 비선형 모델에 의한 원자로의 Robust Control (Nonlinear Model-Based Robust Control of a Nuclear Reactor Using Adaptive PIF Gains and Variable Structure Controller)

  • 적응 비례-적분-추정 (PIF) gain 및 가변구조 제어기를 사용하는 비선형 모델에 의한 하이브리드 제어방법 (NHC)이 개발되었다. 이 제어기는 모델의 불확실성에 대해 robust한 성질을 가지며 단일 입-출력 비선형 시스템의 추적제어 (tracking control)에 응용된다. 이 방법의 특징은 제어기가 각각 특정 역할을 수행하는 4개 부분으로 구성되는 것이다. 즉, 적응 P-I-F 및 가변구조 제어기로 구성된다. Lyapunov의 제 2방법으로 결정된 적응 PIF gain에 의한 제어성능 확보 및 모델의 불확실도를 평가하여 피이드백 함으로써 모델의 불확실성에 대해 robust한 제어기를 구성하였다. 가변구조 제어기는 PIF gain이 적절히 결정되지 않은 상태인 초기의 오차증가를 제어하기 위해 도입되었다. 새로 개발된 NHC방법을 원자로의 출력변동 제어에 응용한 결과 기존의 모델을 이용한 제어방법 (model-based controller)들에 비해 제어성능이 크게 개선되었다.

${\beta}-Glucan$이 보리 전분의 호화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of ${\beta}-Glucan$ on Gelatinization of Barley Starch)

  • ${\beta}$-Glucan이 보리 전분의 호화양상에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. RVA 분석에 의하면 ${\beta}$-glucan의 첨가에 의해 전분은 RVA 상에서의 호화개시가 빨라지고 점도가 크게 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 DSC 분석 결과 ${\beta}$-glucan 첨가에 의해 전분입자가 안정화되어 전분의 호화개시 및 peak 온도가 증가하였으며, X-선 회절 양상 결과에서도 ${\beta}$-glucan 첨가에 의해 전분의 결정성이 증진되어 DSC 분석과 동일한 결과를 나타내었다. 그러나 ${\beta}$-glucan 첨가는 전분의 호화과정 중의 전분입자의 형태 및 amylose, amylopectin의 용출양상과 팽윤력, 용해도 등의 호화시 발생하는 특성의 변화에는 거의 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

에틸렌글리콜 양 조절에 의해 제조된 팔라듐구리 촉매를 이용한 개미산연료전지 성능평가 (Performance Evaluations of Direct Formic Acid Fuel Cell (DFAFC) using PdCu Catalysts Synthesized by Control in Amount of Ethylene Glycol)

  • In this study, electrochemical characterizations of PdCu/C catalysts that are synthesized by modified polyol method are investigated. Most of all, amount of ethylene glycol (EG) that is used as main component for catalyst synthesis is mainly modulated to optimize synthetic condition of the PdCu/C catalyst, For evaluations about catalytic activity and performance of direct formic acid fuel cell (DFAFC), half cell and full cell tests are implemented. As a result, when amount of EG is 4M, catalytic activities of the PdCu/C catalyst such as peak current of formic acid oxidation and active surface area are best, while maximum power density of DFAFC using the optimized PdCu/C catalyst is better than that using commercial Pd/C (30 wt%) by 6%. Based on that, PdCu/C catalyst synthesized by modified polyol method plays a critical role in improving (i) catalytic activity for formic acid oxidation and (ii) DFAFC performance by employing as anodic catalyst.

  • $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$는 우수한 안정성으로 고출력 배터리의 음극 물질로 주 목 받고 있다. 그러나 절연체로서 전도도의 개선이 필요한 상황으로 다양한 방법이 시도되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Cr 도핑을 통해서 $Li_4Ti_5O_{12}$의 전도도 향상을 목표로 하였으며, X-선 흡수 실험 및 FEFF 8.4 코드를 이용한 제일원리 계산을 통해서 도핑에 의한 미세 구조 및 전자 구조의 변화를 분석하였다. Cr 도핑은 페르미 레벨을 Cr d 밴드의 중심에 위치시켜 전도성을향상시켰으며, Ti d 밴드의 전자밀도를 높여 XANES pre-edge및 White line의 변화를 야기했다.

Compensation of the Error Rate for the Non-invasive Sphygmomanometer System Using a Tactile Sensor

  • The Purpose Of This Paper Is To Use A Tactile Sensor To Compensate The Error Rate. Most Automated Sphygmomanometers Use The Oscillometric Method And Characteristic Ratio To Estimate Systolic And Diastolic Blood Pressure. However, Based On The Fact That Maximum Amplitude Of The Oscillometric Waveform And Characteristic Ratio Are Affected By Compliance Of The Aorta And Large Arteries, A Method To Measure The Artery Stiffness By Using A Tactile Sensor Was Chosen In Order To Integrate It With The Sphygmomanometer In The Future Instead Of Using Photoplethysmography. Since Tactile Sensors Have Very Weak Movements, Efforts Were Made To Maintain The Subject's Arm In A Fixed Position, And A 40hz Low Pass Filter Was Used To Eliminate Noise From The Power Source As Well As High Frequency Noise. An Analyzing Program Was Made To Get Time Delay Between The First And Second Peak Of The Averaged Digital Volume Pulse(${\Delta}t_{dvp}$), And The Subject's Height Was Divided By ${\Delta}t_{dvp}$ To Calculate The Stiffness Index Of The Arteries($Si_{dvp}$). Regression Equations Of Systolic And Diastolic Pressure Using $Si_{dvp}$ And Mean Arterial Pressure(Map) Were Computed From The Test Group (60 Subjects) Among A Total Of 121 Subjects(Age: $44.9{\pm}16.5$, Male: Female=40:81) And Were Tested In 61 Subjects To Compensate The Error Rate. Error Rates Considering All Subjects Were Systolic $4.62{\pm}9.39mmhg$, And Diastolic $14.40{\pm}9.62mmhg$, And Those In The Test Set Were $3.48{\pm}9.32mmhg,\;And\;14.34{\pm}9.67mmhg$ Each. Consequently, Error Rates Were Compensated Especially In Diastolic Pressure Using $Si_{dvp}$, Various Slopes From Digital Volume Pulse And Map To Systolic-$1.91{\pm}7.57mmhg$ And Diastolic $0.05{\pm}7.49mmhg$.
