In this study, rainfall runoff characteristics according to peak concentration were analyzed using the water quality and flow data in the Geumho river, and the direction of nonpoint source management such as monitoring and management period by pollution source was derived. Peak Water Quality Concentration is the concept that utilizes the extreme value as the concentration of non-point pollution control standard with the highest water quality in the rainwater runoff. Using this method, the evaluation factors such as cumulative precipitation(total precipitation), peak water quality concentration, cumulative precipitation up to peak water quality concentration, time to peak water quality concentration, and EMC to peak water quality concentration were examined and long- Rainfall runoff characteristics of nonpoint sources were analyzed. The results of the analysis suggested proper monitoring and management method to manage nonpoint source.
This study was performed to research the characteristics of suspended particulate for Yellow Sand of January, 1999 in Busan. Yellow Sand frequency during 13 years(1988~2000) in Busan showed maximum in April(57%), next to March(21%), May(16%). According to result of 850hPa weather map and backward isentropic trajectory, this event originated from the Gobi Desert and the Loess Plateau of China. And three mode was found in time series of TSP and PM10 concentration, primary peak showed the maximum hourly concentration at ali station. Gamjeondong as industrial site showed the highest TSP concentration and also had the longest high concentration($geq700\mu\textrm{g}/m^3$). In PM10, concentration of primary peak showed maximum value at Yeonsandong, maximum concentration of secondary and third peak was Deokcheondong. Lasted time from primary peak to secondary peak was about 30 hours, between secondary peak and third peak was 18 hours in Busan, The traveling time between occurrence of Yellow Sand the finding of it was 8~9 hours in Busan and 4~5 hours in central area.
The present study was carried out to examine the sustained release effect of the implantable bovine somatotropin (SRI-BST) formula. In the blood profile test in steers, the bovine somatotropin concentration in serum by radioimmunoassay showed the peak concentration on the first day after the implantation of the SRI-BST formula, and concentration proceeded for 5 days (p < 0.05). The insulin-like growth factor-1 concentration showed the peak concentration on the seventh day after implantation of the SRIF-BST formula, and concentration proceeded for 10 days (p < 0.05). The glucose showed the peak concentration on the first day after implantation of the SRI-BST formula, and concentration continued for 3 days (p < 0.05). The blood urea nitrogen showed the lowest concentration on the third day after implantation of the SRI-BST formula, and concentration continued for 7 days (p < 0.05). These results proved that the SRIF-BST formula was the sustained release effects in steers.

The diurnal variation of O3 concentration shows two peaks, the first peak at noontime and the secondary peak at night. In order to show why the secondary peak, high nocturnal O3 concentration, occurs without sunlight which is a essential factor of a photochemical response, the O3 concentration, several weather elements and synoptic weather map were used for June∼September at 1995, 1996. The mean concentration of high nocturnal O3 concentration days is higher by 5.4 ppb than that of low nocturnal O3 concentration days. The nocturnal O3 concentration is higher than that of diurnal O3 concentration during high nocturnal O3 concentration days, at July, 1995 and June, 1996. The high nocturnal O3 concentration is related to low air pressure, high cloud cover and high wind speed. The correlation coefficient, r. between nocturnal O3 concentration and wind speed, pressure and cloud cover is 0.387, -0.218, and 0.194, respeftiviely. It is interesting that the O3 concentration increases at Pusan when the typhoon passes by. The same result showed at Taegu when the typhoon FAYE passed by. According to the analysis of nocturnal O3 concentration for June∼September at 1995 and 1996, it seems that the high nocturnal O3 concentration relates to the trough and cyclones passing by Pusan.
Cheeka Peak is a unique site for monitoring the background chemistry and aerosol contents of pristine marine air at mid-latitude. During long-range onshore winds that occur frequently throughout the year, it is predicted to have the cleanest air in the northern hemisphere. Measurements of CO and O$_3$were conducted at Cheeka Peak Observatory(CPO) on the northwestern tip of Washington state, USA during March 6 ∼May 29, 2001. The data have been segregated to quantify the mixing ratio of these species in the Pacific marine atmosphere. Also the marine air masses were further classified into four categories based on 10-day backward isentropic trajectories; high, mid, and low latitude and those which had crossed over the Asian industrial region. The diurnal variation of CO and O$_3$at CPO showed a similar to tendency of background measurement site. When marine air mass flowed to CPO, CO concentration was lower and O$_3$was similar or higher than those of total data. The westerly flow from ocean, not easterly from continent occurred the high concentration of CO and O$_3$at CPO. Using the trajectory segregation of marine air mass, the comparison of concentration according to latitude calculated. the CO concentration of Asian trajectory was lower than other latitudes, O$_3$concentration was higher.
The selection and effective utilization of peak-fitting software for conventional gamma-ray spectrum analysis is significant for accurate determination of the mass fraction of elements, particularly in complex peak regions. Majority of the peak-fitting programs can derive similar peak characteristics for singlet peaks, but very few programs can deconvolute multi-peaks in a complex region. The deconvolution of multi-peaks requires special peak-fitting functions, such as left and right-skew distributions. In the this study, 843.76 keV (27Mg) peak area from the complex region (840 keV-850 keV) determined and compared using four different peak-fitting programs, namely, GammaVision, Genie2000, HyperLab, and HyperGam. The 843.76 keV peak interfered with 841.63 keV (152mEu) and 846.81 keV (56Mn). The total Mg concentration was determined through k0-instrumental neutron activation analysis by applying the isotopic interference correction factor 27Al(n,p)27Mg through the simultaneous determination of Al concentration. HyperLab and HyperGam peak-fitting programs reported consistent peak areas, and resultant concentrations agreed with the certified values of matrix-certified reference materials.
A bioequivalence study of ranitidine tablets was conducted according to the Korean Guidine for the Bioequivalence Test using twelve healthy male subjects. The plasma concentration-timecurves of ranitidine from the test and reference tablets showed profound multiple peak phenomenon in each subject as reported earlier. However, the area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) and the maximum ploasma concentration at the first peak ($C_{max1}$) of the two preparations was proven to be equal when analyzed satistically according to the criteria of the guidline;i. e., statistical power (1-$\beta$)was calculated to be over 0.8 under the condition of $\alpha$ = 5% and $\Delta$(minimum detectable difference) = 20%, and the confidence interval of the difference in AUC at 95% confidence level was in the range of $\pm$ 20%, which statisfied the criteria of bioequivalence. Equivalence of the peak concentration of ranitidine at the second peak ($C_{max2}$), and the time to reach the first ($T_{max1}$) and second verify the bioequivalence of $c_{max2}$ , $T_{max1}$ and $T_{max2}$ between the two tablets. However, we conclude that the test and reference tablets are bioequivalent taking the therapeutic characteristics of the ranitidine preparations into consideration.
The textural properties of acorn flour gels were investigated with the variations in the concentraction, storage time and storage temperature by the use of Instron Universal Testing Machine. The experimental design was $3^3$ factorial experiment. TPA curves of acorn flour gels showed two sharp peaks in the first bite and no negative peak. The hardness and brittleness of acorn flour gels were very significantly affected by concentration, storage time and storage temperature. For the height difference between first peak and second peals, the main effects for concentration and storage temperature were very significant and the main effect for storage time was not negligible. For bend, the effect of concentration was more significant than the effect of storage temperature, and storage time effect was negligible. Springiness was affected only by the concentration.

In many solute transport studies, either flux or resident concentration has been used. Choice of the concentration mode was dependent on the monitoring device in solute displacement experiments. It would be questionable, however. to accept the equivalency in the solute transport parameters between flux and resident concentrations in structured soils exhibiting preferential movement of solute. In this study, we investigate how they differ in the monitored breakthrough curves (BTCs) and transport parameters for a given boundary and flow condition by performing solute displacement experiments on a number of undisturbed soil columns. Both flux and resident concentrations have been simultaneously obtained by monitoring the effluent and resistance of the Horizontally-positioned TDR probes. The study reveals that soil columns having relatively high flux densities exhibited great differences in the degree of peak concentration and travel time of peak between flux and resident concentrations. The peak concentration in flux mode was several times higher than that in resident one. This was mainly due to the bypassing of solute through soil macropores.
The present study investigated the hypophysial responsiveness in terms of GnRH induced LH and FSH release in cycling buffalo during the tropical summer and winter climatic conditions (seasons). Peripheral plasma LH and FSH levels were measured at 1 hour before and 6 hours subsequent to the administration of GnRH (1 ug/kg body weight) or saline on Day 14 of oestrous cycle in 2 groups of buffalo (n = 6 each) during summer and winter seasons. Although GnRH induced LH peak concentrations did not differ during the two seasons, time to attain LH peak concentration was shorter (p < 0.05) and the area under LH peak was 39% higher (p < 0.05) during winter season in comparison to summer season. However, season had no effect on GnRH induced peak FSH concentration, time to attain peak FSH concentration and the area under FSH peak. Pretreatment basal LH and FSH levels did not differ during the two seasons. The present study suggests that the summer season adversely affects the GnRH stimulated release of LH in buffalo.
