Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate treatment results in terms of the survival and failure patterns subsequent to radiation therapy in recurrent cervical cancer, fellowing primary surgery. Material and Methods: Between January 1990 and December 1999, 27 patients, with recurrent cervical cancer following primary surgery, were subsequently treated with radiation in the Department of Radiation Oncology, at the Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center. Their median age was 48, ranging from 31 to 70 years old. With regard to the Initial FIGO stage on presentation, 20 and 7 patients were stages I and II, respectively. Twenty three patients had squamous cell carcinomas and 4 had adenocarcinomas. The time interval from the primary surgery to the recurrence ranged from 2 to 90 months with a median of 29 months. The recurrent sites were the vaginal cuff alone, the pelvic cavity and combined recurrence in 14, 9 and 4 patients, respectively. Radiation was peformed, with external and vaginal intracavitary radiation in 13 patients, external radiation alone in 13 and vaginal intracavitary radiation alone in another one. The median follow-up period was 55 months, ranging from 6 to 128 months. Results: The five year disease free survival (5y DFS) and five year overall survival (5y OS) rates were 68.2 and 71.9$\%$, respectively. There was a marginal statistically significant difference in the 5y DFS in relation to the recurrent site (5y DFS, 85.7$\%$ in vaginal cuff recurrence alone, 53.3$\%$ in pelvic cavity recurrence, p=0.09). There was no difference in the survival according to the time interval between the primary surgery and a recurrence. There was only a 7$\%$ local failure rate in the patients with a vaginal cuff recurrence. The major failure patterns were local failure in the patients with pelvic cavity recurrence, and distant failure in the patients with a combined recurrence. There were no complications above grade 3 after the radiation therapy. Conclusion: Radiation therapy was safe and effective treatment for a recurrent carcinoma of the uterine cervix following primary surgery, especially the external beam radiation and vaginal intracavitary irradiation achieved the best results in the patients with a vaginal cuff recurrence following primary surgery.

This experiment was carried out to determine selectivity of herbicide cyhalofop-butyl ester on enzyme activity, biosynthesis of fatty acid and protein between rice and Echinochloa crus-galli. Activity of the acetyl-CoA carboxylase(ACCase) was inhibited greater in E. crus-galli than in rice by the treatment of cyhalofop-butyl ester. The ACCase activity in E. crus-galli was observed with $I_{50}$ at 1-2ppm of cyhalofop-butyl ester, while in rice only at above 10ppm. Cyhalofop-butyl ester also inhibited the biosynthesis of fatty acid by 61% of palmitic acid, 54% of linoleic acid and 41% of linolenic acid in E. crux-galli. In contrast, no significant difference of fatty acid content was observed in rice at 5DAT as compared with the untreated control. Protein patterns of rice between the herbicide treatment and the untreated control were not significantly different, but in E. crus-galli, 3 protein spots were disappeared in between 29KD and 45KD.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the results of arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament(ACL) repair with minimal incision and to review prognostic factors according to ACL tear patterns and the presence of associated injury Materials and Methods: Thirty eight patients (thirty nine knees) with acute ACL tear were given arthroscopic ACL repair between January 2001 and December 2002 and were followed up at least over six months. Intraoperative findings such as ACL tear pattern and the presence of synovial or concomitant medial collateral ligament injuries were recorded. Each knee was then postoperatively re-evaluated with aid of KT-1000 arthrometer and Lachman test and Lysholm score. Results: Postoperative limitation of motion was significant when combined typed ACL tear was present with concurrent medial collateral ligament(MCL) injury. In contrast, in the case where there were sole proximal ACL tear or no evidence of synovial injury, the limitation of motion was not significant. Anterior laxity was significantly associated with the presence of combined typed ACL tear or concurrent synovial injury, but was not significant when there were sole proximal ACL tear. Conclusion: In the case where there is sole proximal ACL tear without concurrent synovial injury, arthroscopic ACL repair can be considered as a treatment modality for the treatment of acute ACL injury.

Purpose : The purpose of this study were to determine the effect of a Elastic Theraband Exercise Based of PNF L/E pattern on the gait of the chronic Hemiplegic Patients. Methods : We selected the 20 chronic Hemiplegic Patients not given treatment now and divided them into two groups of both 10 Elastic Theraband group and 10 Self Exercise. The first group went through a Elastic Theraband Exercise Based of PNF L/E pattern 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week, for 6 weeks. Exercise used to blue elastic band which 2 patterns of PNF by 1) hip extension - abduction - internal rotation with knee extension. 2) hip flexion - adduction - external rotation with knee flexion. The latter group experienced Self Exercise, 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week, for 6 weeks. Firstly, we measured the absolute improvement of gait velocity(m/s), cadence(steps/min) among walking characters. Secondly, we measured the functional walking ability such as Functional Ambulatory Category(FAC, score out of 5), Modified Motor Assesment Scale(MMAS, score out of 6). Data analysis was performed with using SPSS 12.0 win program. The descriptive analysis was used to obtain average and standard deviation. The independent t-test and the paired t-test were used to compare both the groups about pre and post training test. Treatment effects were established by pre and post assessment. Subjects tolerated the training well without side-effects. Therefore, the results of this study were as follows; Results : 1. There was a more significant improvement of Gait velocity(0.12m/s) Elastic Theraband group(p<.05). 2. There was a more significant improvement of cadence(9.40steps/min) Elastic Theraband group(p<.05). Conclusion : As we can see from above, the findings suggest that Elastic Theraband may be more effective than the Self Exercise for improving some gait parameters such as Gait velocity and Cadency. This conclusion also suggest that Elstic Theraband is more effective for the improvement of gait of chronic Hemiplegic Patients.
A quantitative phase analysis method of X-ray powder diffraction was studied to determine the mineral content of clay-rich rocks practically as well as effectively. For quantitative X-ray powder diffraction analysis of the clay-rich rocks, it is necessary to prepare whole-rock powder samples with a random orientation by side mounting method. In addition, for the identification of the clay minerals in the rock, it is required to prepare an oriented mount specimen with a clay particle size of 2 ㎛ or less, ethylene glycol treatment, and heat treatment. RIR (reference intensity ratio) and Rietveld method were used for the quantitative analysis of the clay-rich rocks. It was possible to obtain the total clay and the non-clay minerals contents from the whole-rock X-ray diffraction profiles using the RIR values. In addition, it was possible to calculate the relative content of each clay mineral from the oriented X-ray diffraction profiles of the clay particle size and assign it to the total clay. In the Rietveld method of whole-rock X-ray diffraction, effective quantitative values were obtained from the Rietveld diffraction patterns excluded the region of less than 10 degrees (2θ). Similar quantitative values were shown in not only the RIR but the Rietveld methods. Therefore, the analysis results indicate a possibility of a routine quantitative analysis of clay-rich rocks in the laboratory. However, quantitative analysis of clay minerals is still a challenge because there are numerous varieties of clay minerals with different chemical and structural characteristics.

A thinner film has superior electrical properties and a better amorphous structure. Amorphous structures can be effective in improving conductivity through a depletion effect. Research is needed on the Schottky contact, where potential barriers are formed, as a way to identify these characteristics. $SiO_2/SnO_2$ thin films were prepared to examine the amorphous structure and Schottky contact, $SiO_2$ thin films were prepared using Ar = 20 sccm. $SnO_2$ thin films were deposited using mixed gas with a flow rate of argon and oxygen at 20 sccm, and $SnO_2$ thin films were added by magnetron sputtering and treated at $100^{\circ}C$ and $150^{\circ}C$. To identify the conditions under which the amorphous structure was constructed, the XRD patterns were investigated and C-V and I-V measurements were taken to make Al electrodes and perform electrical analysis. The depletion layer was formed by the recombination of electrons and holes through the heat treatment process. $SiO_2/SnO_2$ thin films confirmed that the pores were well formed when heat treated at $100^{\circ}C$ and an electric current was applied over the micro area. An amorphous $SiO_2/SnO_2$ thin film with heat treatment at $100^{\circ}C$ showed no reflection at $33^{\circ}\;2{\theta}$ in the XRD pattern, and a reflection at $44^{\circ}2\;{\theta}$. This batch experiment was conducted to investigate the patterns of major plant nutrients in the leachates from the soil that was incorporated with rice hull biochar adjusted pH with dry fish powder utilizing rice hull biochar for loading the soil microorganisms. The rice hull biochar adjusted pH between 6.0 and 7.0, and the mixture ratio of rice hull biochar and dry fish powder was 4:6. The treatments consisted of three; the soil incorporated with rice hull biochar non-adjusted pH with dry fish powder as control (RB + DF), the soil incorporated with rice hull biochar adjusted pH by pyroligneous acid solution and dry fish powder (RBP+DF), and the soil incorporated with rice hull biochar adjusted pH by citric acid solution and dry fish powder (RBC+DF). NH4-N, NO3-N, PO4-P, and K concentrations in the leachates were analyzed during incubation. The accumulated NH4-N and PO4-P concentrations in the leachates from the RBC+DF treatment were the highest during leaching periods. The highest accumulated NO3-N and K concentrations in the leachates from the RBP+DF treatment were observed. It observed that NH4-N and PO4-P were more released in the adjusted citric acid solution, but NO3-N and K were less released than those in the pyroligneous acid solution due to their low absorption capacity. Furthermore, it is necessary to investigate crop growth responses to the soil incorporated with adjusted pH rice hull biochar and dry fish powder for loading soil microorganisms.
The influence of $N^6-benzyladenine$ (BA) on in vitro growth, chlorophyll, rubisco and rubisco activase were studied in tobacco. After 11 weeks of treatment of various concentrations of BA, the most pronounced effect on in vitro growth and chlorophyll was found at 2 ${\mu}M$ BA. Rubisco content increased with increasing concentrations of BA, but a point at 2 ${\mu}M$ BA was reached beyond which increasing concentrations of BA cause inhibition of this enzyme. Rubisco activity showed patterns of change similar to rubisco content. These data suggest that rubisco activity was associated with an amount of rubisco protein. Under the assumption that effects of BA on rubisco may be related to by rubisco activase, in addition to, its content and activity were determined. The rubisco activase content at 2 ${\mu}M$ BA was more increased than other treatments. A similar change pattern was also observed in activity of rubisco activase. These results suggest that the effects of the activation of rubisco by BA seem to be related with rubisco activase.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the eruption patterns of mandibular premolars associated with dentigerous cysts after marsupialization regarding the depth, angulation and root development of impacted teeth. Spontaneous eruption was found in 93% of mandibular premolars after marsupialization. Eruption speed and rate of angulation change were greater in mandibular premolars associated with a cyst than those on the non-cyst side. The group with less matured roots tended to have greater eruption speed and angulation change. The eruption speed and angulation change declined rapidly during the first 6 months after marsupialization. Based on the results of this study, it might be possible to predict the eruption pattern of mandibular premolars associated with a cyst after marsupialization, which would be useful for treatment planning.

This paper is the sequel to 'A study on research methodology of the quoted verses in Dong-uisusebowon(1)'. In this paper, a more detailed discussion on the Shanghanlun lines quoted in the Dong-uisusebowon were carried out based on the aforementioned conclusion, using tao-ren-cheng-qi-tang(桃仁承氣湯) and di-dang-tang(抵當湯) lines related to the tip disease pattern of the So-eum constitution. First in the case of tao-ren-cheng-qi-tang lines, the treatment instructions tell us to use the formula after treating the tip, only when there are root symptoms left. However, in the Dong-uisusebowon, Lee instructed to use tao-ren-cheng-qi-tang when tip symptoms were present. Also, in the di-dang-tang lines, symptoms related to kuang (狂) and stiffening of the lower abdomen which are main manifestations of xu-xue(蓄血) pattern are modified from the Shanghanlun version. The reason behind the difference in contents between the Dong-uisusebowon and Shanghanlun in the mentioned lines is because the lines were already modified in the Dong-uibogam. Heo Jun modified the tao-ren-cheng-qi-tang lines to maintain coherence with the contents of di-dang-tang used in the xu-xue(蓄血) pattern. Another reason for Heo's modification of the di-dang-tang lines is to correct the incoherence of symptoms listed according to the difference in severity of the two di-dang-tang disease patterns. As we can see, Heo modified these parts in the Dong-uibogam based on logical reasons, which enabled Lee to avoid logical contradiction and suggest the So-eum tip disease pattern naturally, by referencing the lines as quoted in the Dong-uibogam.
