Purpose: This study examined the effects of e position change upon reported discomfort and bleeding complications during bed rest following a liver biopsy. Methods: The research design for this study was a non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design. Twenty-nine participants were assigned to the treatment group and twenty seven participants were in the comparison group. Following the biopsy, the treatment group participants had a position change from the supine without compression for two hours followed by compressive right lateral position for two hours. The comparison group maintained continuously the compressive right lateral position with sandbag for four hours. Results: There were statistically significant differences in reported discomfort between the treatment and comparison groups following the intervention. No significant differences were found in bleeding complications between the two groups. Conclusion: The results of the study suggest that the positional change is an effective nursing intervention in reducing discomfort without risk of bleeding following a liver biopsy.
Purpose: This study investigated the correlation between standing balance and head-forward posture in adolescents. Methods: The participants in this study were 15 female adolescents. We took photographs of the participants' craniovertebral angle with a digital camera to determine the degree of head-forward posture. Standing balance was evaluated using the 30-second Romberg test of BT4. The measurements were taken on a stable-support surface and on an unstable-support surface using a balance pad. The data measured in this study were analyzed using SPSS version 23.0, and the statistical significance level α was established as 0.05. Pearson correlation coefficient analysis was performed to identify the correlation between the degree of head-forward position of the participants and their balance ability. Results: When we measured 30 seconds of the Romberg test, we observed that, with their eyes open, the participants' head-forward posture and balance were not correlated. However, with their eyes closed, there was a strong correlation between the forward position of the head and the balance ability, which declined as the head position increased. Conclusion: Adolescents with severe head-forward posture exhibited problems with balance in posture control with closed eyes when visual information was not available. It can be inferred that an abnormality occurs in proprioceptor sensation due to their habitual head-forward posture. Education on correct posture and preventive activities should be recommended to improve the health of such adolescents and avoid possible future problems of physical deterioration.

Purpose : The aim of this study was to verify differences in cervicocephalic joint position sense error after different sustained sitting postures in healthy young adults. Methods : Twenty-five healthy adults(12 men, 13 women) participated in this study. Repositioning errors of neck movement were observed in participants during joint repositioning tasks. During 2 test days with a 1-week interval, the participants performed forward head posture and upright sitting posture in random order. Both head-to-neutral(HTN) and head-to-target(HTT) tasks were performed on each day. On the first day, the participants sat slouched or upright for 10 minutes. Then, they sat upright and moved their heads at a self-selected speed with their eyes-closed to pre-determined neutral and target positions as accurately as possible. The participants noticed that when they reached a pre-determined position, the errors between pre-determined neutral and target positions and current position was recorded. The tasks consisted of flexion, extension and lateral bending. On the second day, the same test was performed after another sitting posture for 10 minutes. Repositioning error values were collected by using a smart phone-based inclinometer. The mean value for three trials was used for data analysis. A paired t-test was used for statistical analysis. Results : Significant differences in joint repositioning errors were found between the repositioning error after different sitting postures on the sagittal plane for both the HTN and HTT tasks (P<.05). No significant differences in errors on the coronal plane were found (P>.05). Conclusion : Cervicocephalic joint position sense can be affected by sitting postures, especially on the sagittal plane.
A secret sharing scheme is a cryptographic Protocol that a dealer distributes shares about a secret to many participants and authorized subsets of the participants can reconstruct the secret. Secret sharing schemes that reflect various access structure were proposed. We propose a new reusable secret sharing scheme in a hierarchical group. Participants have priority about restoration of secret from high position level of tree. And when participants who belong in high position level are absent, they can delegate restoration competence of the secret transmitting delegation ticket to child nodes that it belongs in low rank level. By participants reuse own share and take part in different secret restoration, they who belong on hierarchical group can be possible different secret restoration by each participant's single share.

Purpose: This study was a descriptive correlation study to increase understanding of, and relationships among critical thinking disposition, clinical decision making and job satisfaction of cancer center nurses. Method: The participants in this study were 150 nurses working in one cancer center located in Gyeonggi Province. The statistic program, SPSS WIN17.0 was used for data analysis and data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation. Results: The critical thinking disposition of the participants showed statistically significant differences according to areas of practice (F=4.426, p=.005), and current position (F=9.346, p=.000). For clinical decision making of the participants, statistically significant differences were found according to current position (F=10.667, p=.000). Furthermore, for job satisfaction, there were statistically significant differences according to income (F=6.779, p=.002), length of career (F=2.701, p=.033) and current position (F=5.423, p=.005). There were significant positive correlations for critical thinking disposition with clinical decision making, and with job satisfaction. Conclusions: The results of the study indicate that to improve clinical decision making and job satisfaction of cancer center nurses, it is necessary to increase critical thinking disposition. To make this change, appropriate programs are needed to increase critical thinking and clinical decision making of general cancer center nurses.
Based on the observation that Korean speakers of English have difficulties in producing English fricatives, a perception experiment was designed to investigate whether Korean speakers also have difficulties perceiving English labial consonants including fricatives. Forty Korean college students were asked to perform a multiple-choice identification test. The consonant perception test consisted of nonce words which contained English labial consonants [p, b, f, v] in 4 different prosodic locations: initial onset position, intervocalic position before stress, intervocalic position after stress, and final coda position. The general perception pattern was that the mean accuracy rates were higher in strong position like CV and VCVV than in weak position like VC and VVCV. The difficulties in perceiving the English targets resulted mainly from bidirectional manner confusion between stop and fricative across all prosodic locations. The other types of misidentification were due to place confusion as well as voicing confusion. Place confusion was generated mostly by the target [f] in all prosodic position due to acoustic properties. Voicing confusion was heavily influenced by prosodic position. The misperception of the participants was accounted for by phonetic properties and/or the participants' native language properties.

PURPOSE: Vertebrobasilar insufficiency (VBI) should be carefully assessed in patient for whom manipulation of the cervical spine is to be undertaken. The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in posterior cerebral artery blood flow velocity following head and body positioning by transcranial doppler ultrasonography (TCD) in healthy subjects. METHODS: Twenty two healthy female (mean age $20.77{\pm}1.30yrs.$) participants volunteered to participate in the study. None of the participants had a history of neck pain or headache within the last 6 months. To evaluate the cerebral blood flow, we measured the mean flow velocity of the posterior cerebral artery unilaterally (right side). The blood flow velocity was measured under 3 different head positions (in a neutral head position, ipsilateral head rotation and contralateral head rotation position) and 2 different body conditions (supine position and sitting position). RESULTS: The mean blood flow velocity of posterior cerebral artery was decreased in body positioning from supine to sitting (p<.05), but the decreased rate of blood flow velocity in posterior cerebral artery did not change significantly between ipsilateral head rotation and contralateral head rotation (p>.05). CONCLUSION: These result of our study show that body positioning (sitting and supine) affect the blood flow velocity in posterior cerebral artery.
Background: In the present study to investigate the immediate effects of standing position of the trunk stabilization exercise on Guillain-Barre syndrome patient's balance and gait abilities were examined. Design: Case report and conducted as a single-blind. Methods: Standing position of trunk stabilization exercise was conducted for five Guillain-Barre syndrome patient's who met the selection criteria were recruited. The subjects were conducted conservative exercise and trunk stabilization exercise. Conservative exercise was implemented for thirty min, five times for 8 weeks, and trunk stabilization exercise was implemented for 15 min. The participants' balance was measured via force plate (COP), functional reach test (FRT), timed up and go test (TUG), gait was measured using the 10 m walk test, and 6 minute walk test. Results: After training, the change values of the balance and gait ability in the subjects were significantly greater than pre-test. participants showed significant improvements in COP, FRT, TUG, 10 m walk test and 6 minute walk test pre and post the training (p<0.05). Conclusions: standing position of the trunk stabilization exercise was effective on Guillain-Barre syndrome patient's balance (COP, FRT, TUG) and gait (10 m walk test and 6 minute walk test) abilities were examined.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of sitting posture on cervical flexion angle and pain during smart phone use. Method: This research was performed on 10 adult female students who use smart phones regularly, Each of the two groups of participants used the provided smart phone for 20 minutes while maintaining the given default posture. The evaluation order was randomly selected and the two groups were photographed twice before and after the experiment and were asked to answer if they felt pain during or after the experiment. Result: First, both upright sitting position and vertebra bent position pre and post experiment readings showed significant statistical difference (p<.05). And it is shown to be a factor that induces pain around the neck via increase in neck flexion angle. Second, although there were no significant statistical difference between the pre and post experiment readings of the upright sitting position results and the vertebra bent position results, the vertebra bent position readings showed bigger changes to the neck flexion angle then the upright sitting position readings. Third, all participants from both groups claimed pain in all the tested postures of smart phone usage. Conclusion: Smart phone usage for an extended amount of time in all body postures may prove to have a negative effect making the "optimal" smart phone usage position as a controlled time with neck stretches included in between short sessions.
Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of an abdominal drawing-in maneuver (ADIM) with a light load while sitting on transverse abdominis contraction in subjects with and without low back pain. Methods: In this study, 20 participants with chronic low back pain and 20 controls participated. Ultrasonography was used to assess the thickness of the external oblique (EO), internal oblique (IO), and transversus abdominis (TrA) muscles. Muscle thickness was measured at rest and during ADIM in three different sitting postures: (1) just sitting, (2) sitting loaded position (holding a 1 or 2 kg dumbbell in each hand), and (3) sitting loaded shoulder flexion position (holding a 1 or 2 kg dumbbell in each hand). Results: The contraction ratio (CR) and preferential activation ratio (PAR) of the TrA during ADIM had no significant interactional effect between the group and the sitting postures. However, the CR and PRA of the TrA during the ADIM showed significant differences among the three different sitting postures. The CR of the TrA during the ADIM in the sitting loaded shoulder flexion position was significantly increased compared to that in the sitting position (p<0.05). Moreover, the PRA of the TrA muscle during ADIM in sitting loaded and sitting loaded shoulder flexion positions was significantly higher than that in the sitting position (p<0.05). Conclusion: The findings suggest that ADIM in the sitting-loaded shoulder flexion position should be implemented to facilitate TrA activity.
