역공학(Reverse Engineering)을 위한 자유곡면 형상의 NURBS Approximation (Reverse Engineering for Sculptured Surfaces by Using NURBS Approximation)

  • In measuring step for reverse engineering of sculptured surfaces, computer vision system is used to simplify the complicated surface by boundary edge detection method that minimizes the measuring error. The measured data by Coordinate measuring machine is clouded data points of surfaces which is segmented surface using image process. In this research, the measured data is approximated as NURBS surfaces by new suggested algorithm. The position and number of control points, selection of parametric values and compensation of weight factors are proposed. Finally, surface model is simulated and improved resulting performance is obtained.

조영증강 초음파 진단에서 파라미터 영상 생성 및 개선 기법 (Parametric Image Generation and Enhancement in Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasonography)

  • 본 논문에서는 의료초음파 영상에서 진단 파라미터 데이터를 가시화 하는 방법론으로서 연속적인 픽셀 값을 갖는 전이시간 데이터의 표현과, 4가지 유형의 값으로 분류되는 병변 진단 파라미터 영상을 생성하는 방법을 제시한다. 또한 생성된 파라미터 영상에서 노이즈를 제거하기 위한 방법론으로서 MRF 모델을 이용한 영상개선 기법을 제안한다. 이러한 파라미터 영상 생성기법은 초음파 진단 데이터에서 조영증강 패턴의 동적인 변화에 대한 육안 판별의 한계를 극복할 수 있게 한다. MRF 기반 영상개선 과정에서 연속적인 픽셀 값에 대한 에너지함수를 정의하고 이를 최적화 하는 기법을 개발하였으며 실제 의료영상을 사용한 실험을 통하여 제안된 이론의 유용성을 평가하였다.

분무 액적을 위한 디지털 입자 홀로그래피의 파라미터 해석 (Parametric Analysis of Digital Particle Holography for Spray Droplets)

  • This study presents in-line digital particle holography and its application to spray droplets to measure the characteristics of spray droplets. Several important parameters at the time of hologram recording such as the object distance and the region of laser beam used were verified. The correlation coefficient method with important parameters such as the reconstruction interval and the correlation interval was used for determination of the focal planes of particles. The optimal values of all these parameters are obtained by either numerical simulation of holograms or experiments. Using these optimal parameters, double pulse digital spray holograms in a short time interval were recorded with the synchronization system for the time control. The spatial positions of droplets that are used for the evaluation of the three dimensional droplet velocities can be easily located, which proves the feasibility of the digital holographic technology for measurements of several important features of spray droplets.

  • The Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Sciences (KIRAMS) electron microbeam system has been built with its prototype components. The system is composed of an electron gun, a beam transport chamber, and a cell image acquisition and positioning stage. Each component has been upgraded through repetitive performance tests for various parametric arrangements. This paper presents the preliminary results of the performance test on the beam control and detection parts of the system.

A PARAMETRIC BOUNDARY OF A PERIOD-2 COMPONENT IN THE DEGREE-3 BIFURCATION SET

  • The boundary of a typical period-2 component in the degree-3 bifurcation set is formulated by a parametrization of its image which is the unit circle under the multiplier map. Some properties on the geometry of the boundary are investigated including the root point, the cusp and the length as well as the area bounded by the boundary curve. The centroid of the area for the period-2 component was numerically found with high accuracy and compared with its center. An algorithm drawing the boundary curve with Mathematica codes is proposed and its implementation exhibits a good agreement with the analysis presented here.

  • Advance of neuroimaging technique has greatly influenced recent brain research field. Among various neuroimaging modalities, positron emission tomography has played a key role in molecular neuroimaging though functional MRI has taken over its role in the cognitive neuroscience. As the analysis technique for PET data is more sophisticated, the complexity of the method is more increasing. Despite the wide usage of the neuroimaging techniques, the assumption and limitation of procedures have not often been dealt with for the clinician and researchers, which might be critical for reliability and interpretation of the results. In the current paper, steps of voxel-based statistical analysis of PET including preprocessing, intensity normalization, spatial normalization, and partial volume correction will be revisited in terms of the principles and limitations. Additionally, new image analysis techniques such as surface-based PET analysis, correlational analysis and multimodal imaging by combining PET and DTI, PET and TMS or EEG will also be discussed.

에지 검출을 위한 통계적 검정법 (Statistical Tests for Edg Detection)

  • In this paper we describe a nonparametric Wilcoxon test and a parametric Z test based on statistical hypothesis testing for the detection of edges. We use the threshold determined by specifying significance level $\alpha$, while Bovik, Huang and Munson[4] consider the range of possible values of test statistics for the threshold. From the experimental results of edge detection, the Z method performs sensitively to the noisy image, while the Wilcoxon method is robust over both noisy nd noise-free images. Comparison with our statistical tests and Sobel operator shows that our tests perform more effectively in both noisy and noise-free images.

  • 본 논문은 맨델브로트 집합을 9차 복소 다항식에 확장시켜 새로운 프랙탈 도형을 나타내는 9차 분기집합을 정의하고, 2주기 성분의 경계방정식을 매개함수로 표현한다. 또한, 2주기 성분을 작도하는 알고리즘을 고안하고, 매스매티카를 활용하여 2주기 성분의 기하학적 구조에 관한 결과를 제시하고자 한다.
