As the Internet and Java technology have been growing up, parallel processing approach to utilize those idle resources connected to the Internet has become quite attractive. In this paper, JICE(Java Internet Computing Environment) was implemented as a parallel computing platform based on the Internet using multithreading and RMI mechanisms provided by Java. The basic model of JICE is constructed as three components, such as a client, a set of workers, and a broker. A worker communicates with other workers via a globally shared memory system. It provides users with master-slave programming model and a collection of library functions. The basic model of JICE is also extended as a multimanaging system. This multimanaging system is evaluated by analysis to show its effectiveness. According to numerical analysis and experiments with several benchmarks, it is shown that the performance of basic model depends on the shared memory reference ratio and user's library is a quite promising.
The paper concerns the successive optimization for structure and parameters of fuzzy inference systems that is based on parallel Genetic Algorithms (PGA) and information data granulation (IG). PGA is multi, population based genetic algorithms, and it is used tu optimize structure and parameters of fuzzy model simultaneously, The granulation is realized with the aid of the C-means clustering. The concept of information granulation was applied to the fuzzy model in order to enhance the abilities of structural optimization. By doing that, we divide the input space to form the premise part of the fuzzy rules and the consequence part of each fuzzy rule is newly' organized based on center points of data group extracted by the C-Means clustering, It concerns the fuzzy model related parameters such as the number of input variables to be used in fuzzy model. a collection of specific subset of input variables, the number of membership functions according to used variables, and the polynomial type of the consequence part of fuzzy rules, The simultaneous optimization mechanism is explored. It can find optimal values related to structure and parameter of fuzzy model via PGA, the C-means clustering and standard least square method at once. A comparative analysis demonstrates that the Dnmosed algorithm is superior to the conventional methods.

A heart diagnosis system adopts Superconducting Quantum Interface Device(SQUD) sensors for precise MCG(MagnetoCardioGram) signal acquisitions. Such system needs to deal with hundreds of sensors, requiring fast signal sampling md precise analog-to-digital conversions(ADC). Our development of hardware board, processing 64-channel 12-bit in 1 ks/s speed, is built by using 8-channel ADC chips, 8-bit microprocessors, SPI interfaces, and specially designed parallel data transfers between microprocessors to meet the 1ks/s, i.e. 1 mili-second sampling interval. We extend the design into 256-channel hardware and analyze the speed .using the measured data from the 64-channel hardware. Since our design exploits full parallel processing, Assembly level coding, and NOP(No Operation) instruction for timing control, the design provides expandability and lowest system timing margin. Our result concludes that the data collection with 256-channel analog input signals can be done in 201.5us time-interval which is much shorter than the required 1 mili-second period.

Current dosimetry protocols recommend the use of parallel-plate chambers in electron dosimetry because the electron fluence perturbation can be effectively minimized. However, substitutable methods to calibrate and measure the electron output and energy with the widely used cylindrical chamber should be developed in case a parallel-plate chamber is unavailable. In this study, we measured the correction factors and absolute dose-to-water of electrons with energies of 4, 6, 9, 12, 16, and 20 MeV using Farmer-type and Roos chambers by varying the dose rates according to the AAPM TG-51 protocol. The ion recombination factor and absolute dose were found to be varied across the chamber types, energy, and dose rate, and these phenomena were remarkable at a low energy (4 MeV), which was in good agreement with literature. While the ion recombination factor showed a difference across chamber types of less than 0.4%, the absolute dose differences between them were largest at 4 MeV at approximately 1.5%. We therefore found that the absolute dose with respect to the dose rate was strongly influenced by ion-collection efficiency. Although more rigorous validation with other types of chambers and protocols should be performed, the outcome of the study shows the feasibility of replacing the parallel-plate chamber with the cylindrical chamber in electron dosimetry.

We face problems from excessive information served with websites in this rapidly changing information era. We find little information useful and much useless and spend a lot of time to select information needed. Many websites including search engines use web crawling in order to make data updated. Web crawling is usually used to generate copies of all the pages of visited sites. Search engines index the pages for faster searching. With regard to data collection for wholesale and order information changing in realtime, the keyword-oriented web data collection is not adequate. The alternative for selective collection of web information in realtime has not been suggested. In this paper, we propose a method of collecting information of restricted web sites by using Web crawling distributed monitoring system (R-WCMS) and estimating collection time through detailed analysis of data and storing them in parallel system. Experimental results show that web site information retrieval is applied to the proposed model, reducing the time of 15-17%.

To elucidate phylogenetic relationships of Phellinus and its related genera, nuclear internal transcribed spacer and mitochondrial small subunit ribosomal DNA sequences from 65 strains were determined and compared. The combined dataset of two sequences increased informative characters and led to the production of trees with higher levels of resolution. Phylogenetic analysis of the combined dataset revealed thirteen evolutionary lineages and several unresolved species that were together subdivided into two large clusters consisting of oligonucleate species and binucleate species. These results coincided with previous cytological, morphological, and molecular studies. It is newly recognized that the Phellinus linteus complex forms a sister clade to Inonotus, and that Fulvifomes is somehow related to Inocutis. The Phellinus linteus complex of dimitic perennial taxa made an independent clade from Inonotus and suggested that hyphal miticity and fruitbody permanence had enough phylogenetic significance to keep the complex within the traditional genus Phellinus. Taxa lacking setae were clustered into Fulvifomes, Phylloporia, Inocutis, and Fomitiporia, and the first three were closely related sister groups, but Fomitiporia was a genus distantly related to them. Several taxa with branched setae were shown among distantly related genera. Molecular evidence indicated that the ancestral nuclear type could be a binucleate feature, and that there might be parallel gains of branched setae and parallel losses of setae in the Hymenochaetales.

In this paper, the conventional 2 dimensional metamaterial structure has degeneration of shielding characteristic in cross polarization effect. The proposed 3-D resonator is designed for reduction of cross polarization effect. The proposed 3-D resonator using LTCC consists of 2-D parallel resonators on X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis. The 2-D parallel resonator consists of two plate and one via. When the co-polarization electric filed is excited, the resonance frequency of 3-D resonator is 5.024GHz. The stop bandwidth is 19MHz. When the cross-polarization electric field is excited, the resonance frequency of 3-D resonator is 4.825GHz. The stop bandwidth is 19MHz. The proposed 3-D resonator achieve reduction of cross-polarization effect. The concrete consists of proposed 3-D resonator and absorbtion materials. The concrete will be applied for reduction or interference signal of ETCS(Electric Toll collection system).
In recent, researchers in the field of Bioinformatics need to analyze thousands of genome sequences efficiently according to introduce of new analysis methods and technologies such as genome expression microchip. This rapid growth in the field of bio-engineering needs computing resources to analyze rapidly for genome sequences, but it does not introduce the computing resources due to an enormous investment expense. The core factor of this study is integrated environment based PC-Cluster system & high speed access rate up to 155Mbps, continuous collection system for bio-information at home and abroad. The results of the study are establishment & stabilization of information and communication infrastructure, establishment & stabilization of high performance computer network up to 155Mbps, development of PC-Cluster system with 32 nodes, a parallel BLAST on Cluster system, which can provides scalable speedup in terms of response time, and development of collection & search system for bio-information.
