During a survey of sand-burrowing amphipods, a phoxocephalid species, Parametaphoxus asiaensis (Hirayama, 1992), was found on the tidal flat of Yellow Sea and Jeju Island, Korea. The genus Parametaphoxus is reported for the first time in the Korean fauna. In this paper, we describe and illustrate the species, P. asiaensis of the family Phoxocephalidae in detail.

The instrumentation system is the most important aspect of a flight test program. It is the means by which the objective of a flight test, the production of accurate, useful data, is achieved. An instrumentation system consists of everything required to sense, condition, and record all parameters of interest The task of a flight test engineer is to select a system that is adequate to obtain all needed data, but not complex, expensive, and heavy than the situation demands. In this paper, the primary factors that determine the design of an instrumentation system are discussed.

Bibliographic information-based MARC format is using in 66 countries, and it has been keeping the position of acknowledged information system in many national libraries. But the development of exchange format about integrated database to run integration the factual information and bibliographic information integrative is necessary. Actually factual information and bibliographic information are required frequently in the library. This paper was to extract the element field of factual information that will be expanded at the libraries, and to make the basic data of integrated database-based interactive format through comparative analysis of varied record format to be used around the world.

This paper is concerned with the development of a simple digital stethoscope system for diagnosis of cardiac disorders. This system consists of an electronic stethoscope, IC sound recorder and a notebook computer. The cardiac sound is easily acquired by the electronic stethoscope and then recorded in IC memory stick so that the digital cardiac signal can be simply transmitted to the computer for signal display, disease diagnosis, and personal history record. A software is built with functions displaying the sound graphically and replaying the sound clearly. Further, a neural network recognition system for automatic diagnosis of cardiac disorders is also added to the software.

The dynamic photoelasticity with the aid of Cranz-Shardin type high speed camera system is utilized to record the dynamically propagating behavior of the interface crack. This paper investigates the effects of the stiffness of interface defect(exist along the path of the crack propagation) on the dynamic interface crack propagation behavior by comparing the experimental isochromatic fringes to the theoretical stress fields.

In this paper, three species of the shore fly genus Parydra Stenhammar newly reported from Korea are treated: Parydra (Chaetoapnaea) albipulvis Miyagi, P.(Chaetoapnaea) quadripunctata (Meigen) and P. (Parydra) aquila (Fallen). Key to Korean species and diagnoses are given. Photographs on external features and illustrations of male and female genitalic structures are also provided.

A melitid species, Melita bingoensis Yamato, 1987 collected from the Yellow Sea, is reported for the first time in Korea. This species has a slit-like pocket in coxa 6 of female, which is not found in other Korean melitid amphipods. In this paper, we compared this species with three other previously known Korean species in the same genus.

In this paper, we report for the first time on a species of Eupithecia from Korea. Three females of Eupithecia praepupillata Wehrli, 1927, were collected from the northeastern part of South Korea. With this addition, a total of 53 species of Eupithecia from Korea have been recorded. Diagnosis and description of the species are provided with figures of the genitalia.
