Emotion Research of Paper-like E-ink E-book (종이같은 E-ink 전자책의 감성연구)

  • The demand of reflective display devices are increasing by widespread of electronic books. In this study, the emotional and reading state for reading material of paper books, reflective display, and LCD display were compared to each other. In order to determine the consumers' sensibility of E-ink e-book the emotional assessment of three different types of books was evaluated following with readability assessment and preference experiment. These experiments controlled contents on the screen by using masks to hide hardware aspects of contents. The results of the sensibility reactions by emotional-vocabulary-experiment using semantic scale show that E-ink is closer to paper than LCD. The readability and preference questionnaire for the experimental results show that e-ink is preferred than LCD and paper was preferred or seem similar to E-ink. The conclusions shows that E-ink and paper has similar sensibility and E-ink e-book is expected to replace paper books.

  • By the recent development of the mobile communication, the mobile devices like smart phones and tablet PCs, become extremely popular and the diverse augmented reality are embodied using them. In this paper, a 3D ship display system using mobile augmented reality was designed, and the drawing matching algorithm was embodied. And also, it is intended to provide the help to the active attraction of the shipbuilding orders.

VMS Emulator System with Real-Time Scheduling

  • Variable message signs (VMS) have the different sizes and a specific type according to the city scene and it has to be displayed by different message on the display panel in real-time. And VMS manufacturers must produce the different products in order to give a customized product to each order. In addition that, they should test and check the correct operation to each VMS product using the different message frame. That is very time and workers consuming and VMS emulator with an automatic variable message generator system is necessary. Also, the automatic message generator system is needed to real-time scheduling in order to display the message on the VMS panel like real world. In this paper, we design and implement the VMS emulator embedded the automatic message frame generator system with real-time scheduling which can set several parameters easily on the windows dialog.

  • This paper proposes a color matching 3D look-up table simplifying the complex color matching procedure between a monitor and a mobile display device. In order to perform color matching, it is necessary to process color of image in the device independent color space like CIEXYZ or CIELAB. We improved the S-curve model to have smaller characterization error than tolerance error. Also, as a result of the experiments, we concluded that the color matching look-up table with 64(4$\times$4$\times$4) is the smallest size allowing characterization error to be acceptable.

  • Mobile information retrieval is an evolving branch of information retrieval that is centered on mobile and ubiquitous environments. In general, mobile devices are characterized by lightweight, low power, small memory, small display, limited input/output, low bandwidth, and so on. Some of these characteristics make it impossible to apply general information retrieval to mobile environments without any modification. In order to relieve this problem, we design and implement an information retrieval system for mobile devices like wireless phones, PDA and handheld devices. We use document summarization techniques to alleviate the limitation of small display and user profiles to retrieve the most proper documents for each individual user for personalized search. Futhermore we use meta-search to lighten some burdens visiting several portal sites. In this paper, we have implemented and demonstrated the proposed mobile information retrieval system on the domain of travel and received good evaluation from users subjectively.

  • A number of techniques have been proposed for 3D display using view-difference of two eyes. These methods do not express enough reality like real world. The display images have to change according to the position of a viewer to improve reality. In this paper, we present an approach for generating intermediate image between two different view images by applying new image interpolation algorithm The interpolation algorithm is designed to cope with complex shapes. The proposed image interpolation algorithm generates rotated image about vertical axes by any angle from base images. Each base image that was obtained from CCD camera has an view-angle difference of $3^{\circ}C$, $5.5^{\circ}C$, $^{\circ}C$, $22^{\circ}C$, and $45^{\circ}C$. The proposed into mediate image generation method uses the geometric analysis of image and depth information through the block-based matching method.

  • In this paper, Implement Multi-Screensaver for displaying various search result defined by user. This screens aver can display useful information by convergence web and traditional screens aver concepts. User of this screensaver can define display information when the screensaver is working, like news articles, weather information and movie etc. Therefore, user can obtain the interested information when the computer is idle, i.e. Screensaver is working.

  • There have been plenty of difficulties because properties of Alq3 are unable to acquire in a process of manufacture of OLED. In this paper it will predict a viscosity of Alq3 through DSMC technique and suggest the way regarding a study to estimate properties of material through the computer simulation. There could generate errors of a simulation process in a vacuum deposition process since the properties of material that is used in a high-degree vacuum environment are not secured. Therefore, we would like to propose the new methods that can not only predict properties of a molecular unit but also raise an accuracy of simulation process by forecasting properties of Alq3.

  • In this paper, the fire engine pump is controlled and monitored by the AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript and Xml) in the web server. The embedded system with built-in system having a processor and a memory of high performance occurs many problems in transmitting the large amount of data in real time through the web server. The AJAX is different from HTML (Hyper Text Makeup Language) with java script technology and can make RIA (Rich Internet Application). It process the necessary data by using asynchronous and it take advantage of usefulness, accessibility, a fast response time. Using AJAX can build up web server with real time and monitoring that fire engine pump status, check processing pump memory in the event of fire, also remotely monitors can do. The web server system can control the fire engine pump as like the black box. The experimental results show the effectiveness and commercialize possibility.

A Study on the MPPT Control Method for Grid-connected Multi-String Three-Phase Three-Level PV Inverter (계통연계형 멀티스트링 3상 3레벨 태양광 인버터의 MPPT 제어방법에 관한 연구)

  • Two-level inverter has some disadvantages like high harmonics contained in the output current, efficiency limit and stress to switching device as IGBT and FET. Many researches have reported multi-level inverter to complement two-level inverter of problems. In this paper, we suggest MPPT algorithm of multi-string three-level solar inverter that considered nowadays. We added midpoint controller in order to implement the MPPT algorithm because the three-level inverter has to need midpoint controller and procured the stability of direct current link. We verify the superiority of multi-string T-Type inverter and the algorithm we suggested with solar irradiance variation experiment and MPPT efficiency measurement. The MPPT efficiency was confirmed with a high efficiency more than 99.97%.
