전기용량성 섬유 압력센서를 이용한 호흡측정 시스템 (Respiration Measurement System using Textile Capacitive Pressure Sensor)

  • In this paper, we proposed a wearable respiration measurement system with textile capacitive pressure sensor. Belt typed textile capacitive pressure sensor approach of respiration measurement, from which respiration signatures and rates can be derived in real-time for long-term monitoring, are presented. Belt typed textile capacitive pressure sensor has been developed for this measurement system. the distance change of two plates by the pressure of motion has been used for the respiration measurement in chest area. Respiration rates measured with the textile capacitive pressure sensor was compared with standard techniques on 8 human subjects. Accurate measurement of respiration rate with developed sensor system is shown. The data from the method comparison study is used to confirm theoretical estimates of change in capacitance by the distance change. The current version of respiratory rate detection system using textile capacitive pressure sensor can successfully measure respiration rate. It showed upper limit agreement of $3.7997{\times}10^{-7}$ RPM, and lower limit of agreement of $-3.8428{\times}10^{-7}$ RPM in Bland-Altman plot. From all subject, high correlation were shown(p<0.0001). The proposed measurement method could be used to monitor unconscious persons, avoiding the need to apply electrodes to the directly skin or other sensors in the correct position and to wire the subject to the monitor. Monitoring respiration using textile capacitive pressure sensor offers a promising possibility of convenient measurement of respiration rates. Especially, this technology offers a potentially inexpensive implementation that could extend applications to consumer home-healthcare and mobile-healthcare products. Further advances in the sensor design, system design and signal processing can increase the range and quality of the rate-finding, broadening the potential application areas of this technology.

유미주의가 텍스타일 디자인에 미친 영향 (The effect Aestheticism on Textile Design)

  • 유미 운동은 산업화에 대한 반발하며 디자인의 질을 고양시켜 삶의 질을 향상시키자는 미적 운동이었다. 유미 운동은 대중에게 미적 감각을 심어주어 대중의 생활의 질을 개선하고 따라서, 디자인의 질을 개선하며 예술을 위한 예술을 추구하는 운동이었다. 이러한 유미 운동의 밑거름이 되는 유미주의는 총체적인 미적 개념을 강조하였으며, 이러한 미적 개념은 텍 스타일 디자인 운동에 새로운 활기를 불어넣어 주었다. 본 논문은 기계생산이 불러일으킨 빅토리아 사회를 정화시키고 미적 감각을 전하는 유미주의에 대한 연구를 통하여 유미주의 이 텍 스타일을 디자인에 미친 영향을 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통한 유미주의가 텍 스타일 디자인에 미친 영향은 다음과 같이 분석된다 : 첫째로, 일본예술의 영향으로 텍 스타일 디자인을 2차원적으로 접근하도록 유도하여 단순하고 담대한 성격의 디자인으로 이끌었다. 둘째로, 라파엘 전파의 운동의 영향으로 텍 스타일 디자인의 색채는 연한 색조를 띠게 되었다. 셋째로, 모리스의 자연을 영감으로 한 창의적인 디자인이 성공적인 경지에 오르면서 디자인의 질이 향상되는데 이바지하게 되었다. 넷째로, 유미 운동의 절대적인 영향을 받은 리버티 회사의 창의적인 디자인은 미적 추구를 위함과 동시에 디자인의 질을 향상시키려는 모리스, 고드 윈, 루이스 데이 등의 노력에 합세하여 궁극적으로 창의적인 현대의 영국의 텍 스타일 디자인을 이룩하는데 지대한 공헌을 하였다.

천연염료 실크스크린 기법의 텍스타일 디자인 제작에 관한 연구 (A Study on Eco-Friendly Jaquard Fabric Design Utilizing Natural Dyed Silk Screen Printing)

  • This paper explores the possibility, and suggests an experimental procedure, of industrial application of traditional textile design techniques, such as hand silkprinting and natural dyeing. Theoretical and traditional background of this study is William Morris and his followers' Arts and Crafts Movement from the late 19th century to the early 20th century, which laid the philosophical as well as technical foundations of modern textile design tradition. Based on the basic understanding of the design philosophy, and starting from the design techniques of Morris and his successors, I made some experimental and systematic color plans reflecting and exploiting the physical traits and structure of jacquard woven silk material fabrics. And I applied hand silkscreen printing techniques on the jacquard silk fabrics of my own making, while testing various color combinations of natural dyes. After finishing final processing of design samples, I could get textile design products which met the criteria of my original expectation, i.e., eco-friendly and aesthetic design samples that can also be produced in automatized mass production system of contemporary textile industry. The conclusion of this experimental study is that I can expect the natural dyeing techniques, jacquard silk fabrics design techniques, silkprinting techniques, and the basic processes used in this study to be safely applied for contemporary commercial textile industry utilizing automatized silkscreen printing system and digital printing devices.

  • The paper presents information concerning metrological and technical characteristics of KTU-Griff-Tester device, the optimization of its parameters and the cases of its application. It was defined that the behaviour of textile material during its extraction through a rounded hole depends upon its structure. Variations of geometrical shape of woven and knitted specimens can be described by mathematical expressions of shortened epicycloids and Cassini ovals. It is shown that waving process of disc shaped specimen can be predicted on the basis of the law of sine curve. The examples of textiles treatment with different types of commercial softeners are presented, herewith showing the suitability (sensitiveness) of the new device to detect the changes of textile hand. Meantime it is shown that the level of materials anisotropy can be decided on the basis of transformations of specimen's geometrical shape.

  • Hollow fibers have been used in rather different fields of general textile use and in special-purpose products because of their unique structure. Hollow fibers have profitable properties for some applications because of their large surface/volume ratio. In this paper, dyeing properties of nylon hollow fiber were investigated. Nylon regular fiber and hollow fiber were used in the dyeing experiment. The samples were dyed with three kinds of acid dyes. Effects of dyeing temperature, pH of the dye bath, and dye concentration on dyeing properties were examined.

여성 골프웨어의 선호도에 따른 이미지 분석 (Analysis of Sensibility Image According to Preference of Woman′s Golfwear)

  • This study is to measure and evaluate the sensibility image for textile color and pattern design of woman's golfwear. Four-group colors and four patterns classified by a pracical survey on the market are presented. A questionnaire has 14 sensibility related words scaled by 7 point semantic differential method. The practical research is performed for 150 women screened by sensibility test for individual preference analysis based on the ages. Each subject is answered by a face-to-face interview method to improve survey's accuracy. For statistical results there are significant differences in treatment means of sensibility measurements according to the ages. Sensibility image for textile color and pattern design is significantly different according to individual character based on ages. In summary, this paper has proposed the sensibility image scale for textile color and pattern design of women's golfwears to satisfy individual sensibility according to ages. The results of this study can be effectively applied to develop textile color and pattern design based on human sensibility.

Investigation of Inter Fiber Cohesion in Yarns. II. Influence of Fiber and Process Parameters on the Cohesion in Man Made and Blended Yarns

  • This paper discusses the inter fiber cohesion in man made and blended yarns. The fiber parameters such as fiber length and fineness influence the cohesion. Studies have been focused on polyester and viscose spun yarns. Though polyester and viscose yarns show similar trend in cohesion, viscose yarns exhibit better cohesion clue to their serrated cross section. Studies on the effect of blend proportion of polyester cotton and polyester viscose yarns reveal that increase of polyester and viscose in the respective blends improve the inter fiber cohesion.

  • Laminated composites are liable to fatal damage under impact load due to the fact that they have no reinforcement in the thickness direction. To overcome the inherent weakness, three dimensional (3D) textile reinforcements have drawn much interests. In this paper, impact performance of 2D and 3D textile composites has been characterized. For 2D composites, fiber bundle size and fiber pattern have been varied. For 3D composites, orthogonal woven preforms of different density and type of through-thickness fibers have been studied. To assess the damage after the impact loading, specimens were subjected to C-scan nondestuctive inspection. Compression after impact (CAI) were also conducted in order to evaluate residual compressive strength.

고속 전력선 통신을 이용한 섬유기계 원격제어 시스템 (Remote Control System for Textile Machinery using High Speed Power Line Communication)

  • This paper describes the high speed PLC-based remote control system that can monitor and control textile machineries bi-directionally through Internet. There are many textile machineries without network functions in the factory. We apply the PLC technology in order to give a network function to them in which the existing electric power line is used with network communication lines without separate wiring constructions. In order to realize this system, we have implemented a protocol for network communication of system, high-speed PLC modules, and Ethernet-to-UART modules. Finally we confirmed the effectiveness of system by applying actual test environments.

Investigation of Inter Fiber Cohesion in Yarns. I. Influence of Certain Spinning Parameters on the Cohesion in Cotton Yarns

  • This paper investigates the influence of raw material and process parameters in spinning that affect the inter fiber cohesion in yams. An instrument has been developed for measuring the minimum twist of cohesion. With regard to the raw material parameters, the influence of different cotton fiber mixings for a given count of yarn is investigated. Also the effect of spinning to varying counts for a given cotton variety is studied. With regard to the process parameters, studies have been carried out to investigate the influence of noil extraction in comber, number of draw frame passages, draft pressure in ring frame and direction of twist. Cohesion improved with increase in the noil extraction percentage in the comber. Increase in the number of draw frame passages also improved the cohesion. Draft pressure in ring frame improved the fiber cohesion in yarn up to a pressure of $2.1kg/cm^2$. Direction of twist had no effect on the cohesion.
