The new climate regime for practical reduction in green house gas(GHG) emissions was launched in Paris at Dec. 2015. The Korea government would make various policies and plans in order to achieve the BAU 37 % emission reduction goals by 2030. In this study, the current situation and the possible corresponding methodology to the GHG emission reduction of Korea paper industry were investigated. Although the GHG emission reduction in KOREA paper industry has been successfully conducted compared with other industries until now, the more efforts for controlling GHG emission would be required to meet the new climate regime. The efficiency of various GHG reduction projects conducted by Korea paper companies was evaluated to find efficient way for GHG reduction. The certified methodologies of the external project based offset systems in Korea GHG emission trading scheme were also reviewed for providing the possible way to develope tailored methodology to the Korea paper industry.

The relation between the paper formation analyzer by image process system and smoothness, compressibility uniform of ink absorption is studied. There results indicate that the paper with bad formation has higher apparent bulk than the paper with good formation. The bad formation of paper results in the nonuniform calendering and decrease of the compressibility. The bad formation of paper also results in deformation and omission of printing dots, which affects the reproduction of the printing images.

This study is intended to propose optimal maintenance organization to process industry, especially paper industry by analyzing maintenance organization of paper industry and finding out how the maintenance organization and the allocation of maintenance resources influence maintenance performance indices here in this paper. In this study, we analyzed the maintenance organization in detail and studied correlation between maintenance organization and equipment failure rate for the major top six domestic paper-mills in market share. According to the study, the maintenance organization has been changed in accordance with its business environment, but its performance was different by both the allocation way of maintenance resources and the structure of maintenance organization. For paper industry, whose availability is the most important key index that determines the success or failure of a business, it turns out to be the most effective strategy that operates the combination maintenance combined central maintenance with area maintenance and allocates the maintenance resources mainly for preventive maintenance. In particular, it turned out to be that there is the strong positive correlation between the rate of shift workers and the equipment failure rate. The results of this study is not limited to paper industry, but expandable to other industry. So it is expected that the direction of the maintenance organization would be given to the company which is struggling to improve its availability.

Paper tube industry for synthetic fiber packaging has approximately 200 billion won of market size in Korea, while any significant research has not done yet about physical characteristics of paper tubes. This study was conducted to find out a adequate structure of paper tubes by changing compositions of paperboards, size of tubes, and makers. Parallel compression strength was not only rely on compositions of paperboards, but also largely impacted by structural design of paper tubes.

In order to investigate the structures and growth patterns of pulp and paper industries of Korea, the input-output tables of the year 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2007 were analyzed in this papers. The production inducement coefficients of these industries have grown during the designated period. In 2007, the value of production induced by pulp industry was estimated to be 343,8 billion won. Paper and paper product industries were estimated to induce the production of other industries by 7,281,6 and 8,515.9 billion won, respectively. The import inducement effect of pulp industry was estimated to be larger than that of paper and paper product industries. Analysis on the forward linkage effects indicated that paper and paper product industries were more sensitive to the change in demand of other industries than pulp industry.

Culture industry is appearing as an important sector of economy. Many kinds of culture industry like movie, music, drama, animation and game are creating enormous wealth all over the world. Fashion is a kind of culture industry too and even sometimes treated as art. Korean fashion is not treated as real culture but still as a part of textile industry. Internationally Korean fashion has not yet much to show, and despite of it's potential it does not attract much interest from other countries. In this paper properties and effects of mulberry handmade paper clothes were investigated with five clothes made of it. In making handmade mulberry paper clothes various techniques could be applied and these techniques could bring new effects. Because mulberry handmade paper does not have little flexibility than ordinary texture, much efforts should be put to the detail works. Handmade mulberry paper clothes have enormous potential as art, because various approach could be applied.

Recycled pulp therefore play a very important role in the paper industry today as a substitute for virgin pulp. In many countries of the world, the paper industry could not exist as it does without recycled pulp. Because, this is mainly due to economic reasons. Particularly in our country, the additional reason is the scarcity of native pulpwood resources. Therefore, the use of recycled pulp is very important. This study was aimed to apply recycled pulp to textbook paper. So we made a paper containing 30% recycled pulp and investigated about print quality, such as color reproduction, trapping, contrast, dot gain, gloss and print through. The results showed that is similar to existing textbook papers.
