Effects of Supplementation of Spent Mushroom(Flammulina velutipes) Substrates on the in vitro Ruminal Fermentation Characteristics and Dry Matter Digestibility of Rye Silage (호밀 사일리지 제조 시 팽이버섯 수확 후 배지 첨가수준이 in vitro 반추위 발효특성 및 건물소화율에 미치는 영향)

  • The in vitro experiment was conducted to ensure the supplemental level of spent Flammulina velutipes mushroom substrates(SMS) as an energy source in manufacturing of rye silage. Rye harvested at heading stage was ensiled with spent mushroom substrates of 0%(Control), 20%(R-20), 40%(R-40) and 60%(R-60) as fresh matter basis for 6week. The rumen fluid for preparation of in vitro solution was collected from two cannulated Holstein bulls fed a 40:60 concentrate:timothy diet. The experiment was conducted by 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, and 48 hrs of ncubation time with 3 replications. The silages were evaluated fermentation characteristics and dry matter digestibility(DMD) in vitro. The pH of in vitro solution was inclined to decrease with elapsing the incubation time, and that of the R-60 was significantly(p<0.05) lower than the other treatment at 48 hr of incubation. The microbial growth in vitro was inclined to increase with elapsing the incubation time, and that of the R-20 was significantly(p<0.05) greater than the Control at 48 hr of incubation. Gas production was greater(p<0.05) in the Control than the other treatments at 48 hr of incubation. In vitro dry matter digestibility(IVDMD) was higher with increasing the supplemental level of SMS, and was significantly(p<0.05) lower in the Control compared with other treatments throughout whole incubation time. The IVDMD for R-60 was the highest(p<0.05) among treatments at 24 hr and 48 hr of incubation. Considering of above results and the availability of SMS, SMS could be supplemented by 60% in fresh matter basis for rye silage fermentation.

포도 ‘켐벨얼리’의 예냉 및 저온 유통 기술 연구

  • 포도 중 캠벨얼리 품종은 색이 검붉고 당도가 높아 우리나라 대표적인 품종 중에 하나로 알려져있다. 그러나 수확 후 저장 유통 중 품질이 저하되기 쉽다. 따라서 예냉 조건 및 수송, 저장, 유통조건에 따른 품질조사를 비교실험하여 가장 안전한 저장 유통 방법을 개발하고자 하였다. 실험재료는 2003년 8월20일경에 포도 주산지인 영천 농가에서 수화 한 후 바로 예냉처리를 하였다. 이때 사용한 예냉기는 원예연구소에서 개발한 시제작품을 사용하였다. 대조구로 무예냉을 두었으며 예냉 후 수송온도도 관행적인 상온과 저온(2$^{\circ}C$)로 구분 처리하였으며 저온온도별로도 함께 실험하였다. 포장단위도 2kg 와 5kg로 각각 처리하여 수행하였다. 예냉이 품질에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 예냉처리에 따른 호흡패턴 변화와 이화학적 특성변화를 조사하였다. 또한 저장 중 중량감소율, 부패율 및 탈립율을 조사하였다. 포도 ‘켐벨얼리’의 수확 시 품온 29.5$^{\circ}C$를 적정 저장 온도인 2$^{\circ}C$로 저하시키는데 일반 저온 저장고에서 10시간 정도 걸리는 데 반하여 차압예냉기 이용시 3시간으로 단축시킬 수 있었으며 예냉 포도의 처리구별 호흡량은 초기 6.65$m\ell$/kg/hr 였으나 상온무예냉 및 예냉 처리구의 경우에는 저장해가면서 급격히 증가되었고 저온에서는 무예냉의 경우에는 계속 증가되는 반면 예냉 처리구의 경우에는 포장 규격과는 상관없이 다른 처리구 보다 호흡억제 효과가 있었다. Ethylene 발생량 역시 호흡과 비슷한 경향을 보여 주어 예냉 시 과실의 품질 저하 요인 발생량을 억제시킬 수 있었다. 경도는 저장 기간이 경과됨에 감소되나 저온 예냉 처리구의 경우가 초기 1.26N을 높게 유지하였고 자연중량 감모율은 상온저장 2주째 무예냉처리구 8.40%로 감소된데 비하여 예냉 저온 수송 구의 경우에는 0.25%로 매우 낮았다. 포도 ‘켐벨얼리’의 저온 저장중 부패율은 저장 2주째 상온 무예냉 처리구의 경우 19.8%이었으나 저온 예냉 처리구의 경우는 부패과가 발생하지 않았고 탈립율 역시 상온무예냉처리구의 경우 53.5%인데 반하여 저온 예냉 처리구는 저장 4주경과 시까지 탈림과가 없었다. 당도 및 pH변화 역시 차압 예냉 후 저온 수송 처리구가 초기당도(12.0Bx)$^{\circ}$값과 초기 pH(3.8)를 저장 25일 경과시까지 유지하였다. 수확 시 높은 품온을 갖고 있는 과일을 산지에서 예냉 처리를 한 후 저온 냉장차를 이용하여 유통한다면 관행 유통 구조보다 고품질의 포도를 유통시킬 수 있는 것으로 사료되며 앞으로는 완숙된 고 당도(12.0~15.0Bx)$^{\circ}$ 포도를 수확 한 즉시 예냉 처리하고 저온 유통한다면 보다 신선한 과일을 소비자에게 전달 할 수 있을 것이다.

Yield and Quality of Forage Mixture as Affected by Maturity of Rye Cultivar and Oat-Rye Seeding Rate (호밀품종의 조만성과 연맥-호밀의 파종량이 혼파사초의 수량과 사료가치에 미치는 영향)

  • Evaluation works of oat in mixture with rye on forage yield have not been reported. The objective of this study was to determine yield and quality of forage mixture as affected by maturity of rye cultivar and oat-rye seeding rate at Suweon from 1999 to 2000. The experiment was arranged in a split plot design with three replications. Main plots consisted of maturity of rye. such as early(cv. Koolgrazer) and late(cv. Kodiak)maturing cultivars. Sub-plots consisted of seeding rate (T1: Oat 2000 and rye 0kg/ha, Ts: Oat 150 and rye 40kg/ha, T3: Oat100 and rye 80kg/ha, T4: Oat50 and rye 120kg/ha. and T5: Oat0 and rye 160kg/ha). Crude protein(CP) content of oat-rye mixture harvested in the fall was not influenced by maturity of rye cultivar, but that of oat-rye mixture was increased from 13.6 to 19.3% as the seeding rate of rye increased(P<0.05), however, maturity of rye cultivar significantly affected CP content of oat-rye mixture in the spring(P<0.01). Acid detergent fiber(ADF) content of oat-rye mixture harvested in the spring was not significantly affected by rye cultivar, but the ADF was decreased from 27.8 to 20.7% as the seeding rate of rye increased(P$<$0.01). When rye was harveste in the spring, ADF content of late maturing cultivar 'Kodiak' was shown as 28.0%. This was lower than that of early maturing cultivar 'Koolgrazer' which was shown as 35.8%(P$<$0.01). Among treatments, neutral detergent fiber(NDF) and in vitro dry matter digestibility(IVDMD) of oat-rye mixture showed a similar trend made on ADF. In this experiment, the highest forage yield (12.356kg/ha) was obtained from early maturing rye cultivar and seeding rates of 100kg/ha of oat and 80kg/ha of rye mixture. A significant interaction between maturity of rye cultivar and seeding rate was found(P$<$0.01). The above results indicate that an early maturing rye cultivar at the seeding rate of 100kd/ha in mixtures with 80kg/ha of oat could be recommended as a succeeding cropping system after corn for silage.

Cultivation characteristics and yield of Sparassis crispa according to medium pH, medium moisture content, and inoculum volume of liquid spawn (배지 pH, 배지함수율 및 종균접종량에 따른 꽃송이버섯의 재배 특성 및 수량)

  • The cultivation of Sparassis crispa in the beginning of the 2000s in South Korea, and the cultivar 'Neowul' bred in the Chonbuk Agricultural Research and Extension Service were registered first in 2016. However, there is no manual for the cultivation of Sparassis crispa, and therefore, there remains a big difference in its harvest rate across farms. Herein, we aimed to study the primordium formation conditions of Sparassis crispa 'Neowul' according to the medium pH, medium moisture content, and inoculum volume of liquid spawn and develop a stable production technology. We found the annual yield per bottle relating to the cultivation period, harvest rate, and the weight of fruiting body to be the highest at 363.6 g in the area cultivated at pH 3.8. However, it is thought that cultivation by adjusting the pH to 3.9±1 would be necessary for stable production, considering that at pH 3.6, the yield sharply reduced to 189.5 g. Moreover, the culture period was shorter at pH 4.0 compared with that at pH3.8, and the cultivation period at pH 4.0 was the same as that at pH 3.8. No significant difference in the weight of the fruiting body at different conditions was recognized. Additionally, it is difficult to regulate the pH precisely in practical applications in the farms. It is thought that 341.8 g Sparassis crispa will be produced per bottle annually if the medium moisture content is adjusted to 65%, liquid spawn inoculum volume is equivalent to 4% of the medium volume, and the humidity in the culture room is set to below 50%.

Cultural characteristics of oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) on addition rate of Cudrania tricuspidata (기능성자원 구지뽕나무(Cudrania tricuspidata) 톱밥의 첨가량에 따른 느타리버섯의 재배적 특성)

  • This study was carried out to investigated optimum mixing ratio of Korean natural Cudrania tricuspidata for production of functional oyster mushroom. Total nitrogen and carbon source of Cudrania tricuspidata was 0.27% and 40.9%, respectively and C/N ratio was 152. Total nitrogen source and pH of substrates mixed with Cudrania tricuspidata were 2.7~2.8 and 4.9~5.1, respectively. The contents of $P_2O_5$, CaO, MgO and $Na_2O$ were no significant difference. Mycerial growth was faster at Cudrania tricuspidata 10% than that of control, but the other treatment was slower. Yields of fruiting body was the highest at Cudrania tricuspidata 20%, and diameter and thick of pileus were no significant difference to increase of Cudrania tricuspidata addition ratio. The L value of pileus was the highest at the Cudrania tricuspidata 20% during mushroom harvest, but there was no significant difference in the a-value and the b-value. Chemical contents of fruiting body were the highest at the Cudrania tricuspidata 30%.

Effects of spent mushroom (Flammulina velutipes) substrates on in vitro ruminal fermentation characteristics and digestibility of whole crop sorghum silage (팽이버섯 수확후배지 첨가가 수수 사일리지의 in vitro 반추위 발효특성 및 소화율에 미치는 영향)

Sorghum harvested at heading stage was ensiled with spent mushroom substrates of 20% (S-20), 40% (S-40) and 60% (S-60) as fresh matter basis for 6 week. The experiment was conducted by 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, 48 hrs of incubation time with 3 replications. The silages were evaluated fermentation characteristics and dry matter digestibility (DMD) in vitro. The pH of in vitro solution was inclined to decrease with elapsing the incubation time, and that of the S-20 was significantly (P<0.05) lower than the other treatment at 48 hr of incubation. Gas production was greater (P<0.05) in the S-20 than the other treatments at 6 and 12 hrs of incubation. The microbial growth in vitro was inclined to decrease following 24 hr of incubation, and thereafter sustained the similar levels. In vitro dry matter digestibility (IVDMD) was lowered by increasing the supplemental level of spent mushroom substrate, and was a low level in the S-60 throughout whole incubation time. Although the IVDMD for S-40 was steadily increased from 9 hr of incubation and reached to similar level with the S-20 at 48 hour of incubation, however SMS for whole crop sorghum silage fermentation might as well add about 20 to 30% in fresh matter basis when considering DMD.

Effect of Pre-plant pH Change and Leaching on Crop Growth, Nutrient Uptake and Yield of Strawberry(Fragaria ${\times}$ ananassa Duchesne) 'Nyoho' (정식전 pH 변화를 수반한 토양 용탈이 딸기의 생육, 무기염 흡수 및 수확량에 미치는 영향)

  • This research was conducted to determine the effect of soil pH change followed by leaching with ground water on crop growth, yield and nutrient uptake of strawberry. Treatments were leaching with ground water (A), hydrated lime application of dissolved portion in $500g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ solution followed by leaching (B), application of $Al_2SO_4$ solution with the concentration of $0.75g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ followed by leaching (C), pH elevation by (B) followed by pH lowering by (C), then leaching (D). Soil samples taken before experiment had 6.0 in soil pH. But the pH of all treatments taken after pH changes and leaching were in the range from 5.8 to 6.2 without statistical differences among treatments. Electrical conductivity of soils taken before experiment was $1.82dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$ and those of (A), (B), (C), and (D) were 1.65, 1.72, 1.71 and $1.83dS{\cdot}m^{-1}$, respectively. The plant height in treatment (C) was 20.4 cm at 80 days after transplanting which was the highest among treatments tested. The other growth characteristics did not show statistical differences among treatments. Tissue contents of Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu and B in treatment (C) were higher than those of other treatments at 80 days after transplanting. The treatment (C) had the highest number of special sizes and fruit weight per 50 plants such as 137 and 3.784 g, respectively. The treatment also had 3.123 kg in total fruit weight and 2,489 kg in marketable fruit weight per 10 are. The treatment (B) also had good results such as 2,820 kg in marketable fruit weight per 10 are.

Effects of applied biochar derived from spent oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) substrate to Soil Physico-chemical Properties and crop growth responses (느타리버섯 수확후배지 바이오차 시용이 토양 이화학성 및 작물 생육에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of soil physico-chemical properties and crop growth responses for application of biochar derived from substrate with post harvest of oyster mushroom. The biochar was produced at 450~600℃ using a top-light up draft gasifier (TLUD) production system. As a result of elemental analysis, the biochar used was C 76.2%, H 2.5%, N 3.2%, and H/C was 0.39, which met the international certification standards for biocarbons (IBI) below 0.7. The chemical properties were 10.1 for pH, 1.0% for P2O5, 1.8% for K2O, and 2.5% for CaO. The application rates of biochar were 0, 100, 200, 300, and 500 kg/10a. For cultivation of chinese cabbage and welsh onion, soil organic matter (OM), total nitrogen (T-N), total carbon (T-C), Ex.cation K contents and cation exchange capacity (CEC) in the treatments were increased compared to the no treatment. In addition, the bulk density was lowered and the porosity was increased, improving the soil physical properties in the treated soil. The growth of chinese cabbage and green onion increased with the application of biochar, but the yields of chinese cabbage and green onion did not significantly different among the treatments. Soil carbon sequestration in the treatments enhanced with increasing the amount of biochar application. It is expected to apply the biochar derived from spent oyster mushroom substrate in the eco-friendly farm soil management, improving soil physico-chemical properties.

Effect of Compost Application on Radish Quality and Changes of Soil Physico-chemical Properties in Organic Farming (유기농산물 생산을 위한 퇴비시용이 무의 품질과 토양의 이화학성에 미치는 영향)

  • Depending on compost treatment the changes of radish morphology and soil physico-chemical properties were investigated in the sandy loam soil, pH of the soil was decreased and the contents of organic matter, total nitrogen, phosphate and cation exchange capacity was increased with increase of compost. Root weight and length were the lowest, but deficit rate was the highest(79.3%) in the treatment of 120Mg/ha of compost. The contents of chlorophyll and sugars were increased with increasing the amount of compost treatment, but the inorganics were scarcely changed. The nitrate content in radish root ranged from 10 to 120mg/kg in various treatments.

Effect of Composts Fermented with Korean Medicinal Herb Wastes on Physiological Activity of Rubus coreanus Miquel (Bokbunja) (한약탕제찌꺼기 발효퇴비 처리에 따른 복분자과실의 생리활성)

  • Fermented compost made from medicinal herb wastes (MHWC) as an environment-friendly manure resource was applied to determine physiological activities of Rubus coreanus Miquel (Bokbunja). MHWC, poultry manure compost (PMC), and MHWC+PMC (1:1, w/w) were applied to 2 year-old Bokbunja plant at levels of 0, 20, 40 Mg/ha, respectively. Physiological activities of Bokbunja were investigated at 15, 20 and 25 days after flowering (DAF). Content of total phenolics in fruit was high in order of 25 > 20 > 15 DAF, showing highest value in fruit treated with MHWC at 40 Mg/ha. The flavonoid level showed same pattern to total phenolics. Electron donation abilities at fruits at 15 and 20 DAF were higher than at 25 DAF. Nitrite scavenging ability (NSA) was increased on in order of pH 1.2 > 4.2 > 6.0. NSA in fruit at 15 and 20 DAF was higher than at 25 DAF. Tyrosinase inhibition ability at fruits treated with MHWC showed the highest value among all composts. Xanthine oxidase inhibition ability in fruit treated with MHWC at 25 DAF was the highest. In conclusion, physiological activities of Rubus coreanus Miquel (Bokbunja) were improved in MHWC group.
