Objectives: The goal of this study was to estimate the overall satisfaction level of dental implant patients and further evaluate factors influencing satisfaction. Materials and Methods: Self-administered questionnaires were mailed to patients who received dental implant therapy at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (Seongnam, Korea) from October 2003 to April 2005. The main portion of the questionnaire was shared to evaluate the level of satisfaction with implant therapy. The questionnaires contained evaluations of influencing factors, which were classified as pain-related, service-related, and complication-related. Results: The responses from 93 patients (41 males, 52 females) with a total of 325 implants were included in the analysis, and the mean score for overall satisfaction level with implant therapy was 8.26. Female patients showed higher visual analogue scale (VAS) scores for both pain during (P=0.000) and after implant surgery (P=0.016). Male patients showed more 'negative' values for the reasonability of treatment cost (P=0.008) and the adequacy of the treatment period (P=0.022). Conclusion: The subjective satisfaction of patients was influenced by various factors, especially complication-related factors.
The purpose of this study was to relate the degree of hypertension to nutritional status, in order to prepare basic data for a nutrition program. The study using the WHO standard divided the residents in Kangbuk-gu into a normal group (NG) of 254 adults with systolic blood pressure (SBP) < 130 or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) < 85; a borderline hypertensive group (BG) of 81 adults with 130 $\leq$ SBP $\leq$ 140 or 85 $\leq$ DBP $\leq$ 90; and a hypertensive group (HG) of 143 adults with SBP > 140 or DBP > 90. The mean age of HG was older than the other groups (p < 0.001). The dietary intake was investigated by the 24-hour recall method. The Ca intake as the percentage of the Korean Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) for the HG were higher than that of the other groups (p < 0.01). The Nutrient Adequacy Ratio (NAR) of Ca and Vit. A were below 0.75 for all three groups. The Mean Adequacy Ratio (MAR) was above 0.75 (p > 0.05) for all three groups. The Dietary Variety Score (DVS) of the NG was 22.7, and higher than those of the other groups (p > 0.05) The fasting blood sugar (p < 0.001), total cholesterol (p < 0.001), protein (p < 0.001), albumin (p < 0.01), hemoglobin (Hb) (p < 0.001), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) (p < 0.001), and creatinine (p <0.05) values of the HG were higher than those of the other groups. The Body Mass Index (BMI) and the waist-hip ratio (WHR) of the HG were higher than those of the other groups (p < 0.001) . In conclusion, these results showed that there tended to be differences among the three groups. For effective nutritional education and counseling of each group, we should furtherstudy the differences and understand their characteristics of each group in order to provide nutritional education for controling and preventing hypertension.
Resins were synthesized by mixing N-phenylaza-15-crown-5 macrocyclic ligand attached to styrene (2th petroleum in 4th class hazardous materials) divinylbenzene (DVB) copolymer with crosslink of 1%, 2%, 6%, and 12% by substitution reaction. The synthesis of these resins was confirmed by content of chlorine, element analysis, thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), surface area, and IR-spectroscopy. The effects of pH, equilibrium arrival time, dielectric constant of solvent and crosslink on adsorption of metal ions by the synthetic resin adsorbent were investigated. The metal ions were showed fast adsorption on the resins above pH 4. The optimum equilibrium time for adsorption of metallic ions was about two hours. The adsorption selectivity determined in ethanol was in increasing order uranium (VI) > zinc (II) > europium (III) ions. The uranium ion adsorbed in the order of 1%, 2%, 6%, and 12% crosslink resin and adsorption of resin decreased in proportion to the order of dielectric constant of solvents.
To enhance cellulose hydrolysis f Humicola insolens cellulase (HIC) was empolyed with immobilized glucose isomerase(IGI). Optimun pH and temperature for HIC were 6.5 and 55$^{\circ}C$, respectively, whereas those for IGI were 7.0 and 60$^{\circ}C$, respectively. Optimun loading size of IGI was 200mg(130 untis) with 15units of HIC. Reaction conditions were determined to be as follows: 55$^{\circ}C$,pH 6.5, HIC 15 units and IGI 130 units. After 24h hydrolysis, more than 65% of avicel was converted to glucose and fructose; in contrast, the conversion ratio of control was 40%.

Natural zeolite ceramic ball was high production of 4.2×108 conidial/mL. The culture condition optimized initial pH, temperature, rice bran extract concentration, adhesives substance and concentration of NaCl, respectively. The high production of spore optimal conditions were temperature 28℃, initial pH 3, rice bran extract 3 mL, starch 33 g, 5 % NaCl and sopre suspension 7 mL, respectively.CONCLUSION: This study was carried out for the mass production of entomopathogenic fungi conidia recover rate 65% in matrix of natural zeolite ceramic ball, and to develop ingredient-used formulation of Beauveria bassiana M130 conidia for biological control agents.
The effect of alachlor treatment on peroxidase synthesis in oat root tips was studied. Alachlor caused increase in the amount of soluble peroxidase in oat root tips, peroxidase activity increase as the rate of alachlor application increased, Alachlor treatment of oats with $1{\times}10^{-6}M$, peroxidase activity increased 0.20 unit higher than that of nontreatment. After 12hr, 65mM of peroxide treatment of oats inhibited 16% root growth, and 130 mM peroxide treatment caused 59% inhibition. With PAGE of peroxidase extracted from normal root tips, PAGE give 4 species($P_2$, $P_3$, $P_4$, and $P_5$ band) of peroxidase. Alachlor significantly activated isoperoxidase. Three isoperoxidase($P_1$, $P_6$, and $P_7$) are synthesized at a increased concentration of alachlor, SDS-PAGE analysis of proteins extracted from oat root tips showed that they were made up of subunits blow 100 kD polypeptide.
A clone pSL 2-1, which is a recombinant plasmid believed to contain the mosquitocidal crystal-line protein gene of the Bacillus sphaericus 1593, was expressed in Escherichia coli JM83 and the product of the clone was purified and identified. The unsolubilized mosquitocidal crystal proteins from the B. sphaericus had formed 43, 58, 64, 100, 113, and 130 Kd bands in the SDS-polyacrylamide gel, but the NaOH-solublized proteins at pH 12 formed 2 protein bands of 43- and 64Kd in the gel because the larger protein (precursor) bands were cleaved. The products of the pSL 2-1 clone was purified by Sephadex G-200 and only the fractions having lethal activity to the 3rd in-star larvae of mosquito Culex pipiens were analyzed by the gel. The only single protein band of 42 Kd toxic to the larvae was formed. The major toxic protein being produced from the B. sphaericus 1593 and the pSL 2-1 clone was found to be the 42 Kd.
Purpose: The object of this study was to compare the educational effect about self-efficacy and the quality of chest compressions of Hands-only CPR and Basic CPR. Methods: It's a nonequivalent control group pre-post repeated quasi-experiment study conducted with entire fifth grade students belong to one school in H city. The study participants are 68 persons, and data were collected from December 2, 2013 to February 7, 2014. Self-efficacy was measured by 10 items, and the quality of chest compressions was measured by 5 variables which are average compression depth(mm), average rate (n/min), average count per minutes (n), abnormal placement (n), compression accuracy (%). Results: Self-efficacy of the experimental group and control group showed no significant difference but showed significant difference over time and was the highest at posttest 1 (immediately after education), the lowest at pretest (before education), middle at posttest 2 (8weeks after education) (p<.001). Experimental group was significantly higher than control group in average rate per minute. At posttest 1, experimental group was $130.0{\pm}9.38$ times, control group was $95.1{\pm}11.82$ times. At posttest2, experimental group was $124.0{\pm}14.89$ times, control group was $90.8{\pm}14.89$ times.(p<.001). Average rate (n/min) was significantly declined at control group in the quality of chest compressions over time (t=-2.400, p=.022). Average count per minute and compression accuracy were declined significantly so it were not maintained to posttest2. Conclusion: We need continuous CPR education because self-efficacy of CPR getting lower significantly over time. Hands-only CPR can't be seen as a way to increase the CPR ability of elementary school students having difficulty to perform artificial breathing. And, because the effect of education is not maintained 8wks after training, the technique centered repeated training is needed and a method which can increase compression accuracy is also needed.
Background: To prevent or reduce the risk of strain injury, various approaches, including stretching techniques are currently being used. The effect of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) and static stretching on flexibility has been demonstrated; however, it is not clear which one is superior. Objects: This study aimed to evaluate the differences between the effects of PNF and static stretching performed at various intensities on muscle flexibility. Methods: The maximum voluntary isometric contraction (MVIC) of the hamstrings using the PNF stretching technique was performed in the P100 group, while 70% of the MVIC was performed in the P70 group. The MVIC value obtained during the PNF stretching in both groups was used as a reference for setting the intensity of static stretching. Static stretching was performed at 130% (S130), 100% (S100), and 70% of the MVIC (S70). The active knee extension (AKE) values, defined as the knee flexion angle were measured before stretching (baseline), immediately after stretching (post), and at 3 minutes, 6 minutes, and 15 minutes. Results: PNF stretching produce a greater improvement in flexibility compared with static stretching. Specifically, the ΔAKE was significantly higher in the S100 and S70 groups than in the P100 group at Post. In the comparison of ΔAKE over time in each group, the ΔAKE at Post showed a significant decrease compared to the value at Baseline in the S130 group; however, no significant difference was observed at 6 minutes while a significant increase was noted at 15 minutes. Conclusion: This study found that PNF stretching is more effective than static stretching with respect to increasing and maintaining the flexibility of muscles. In addition, the increase in flexibility at maximal intensity was similar to that observed at submaximal intensity during both PNF and static stretching.
Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of WBC on the pressure pain threshold, CK and LDH after exercise-induced muscle injury. Design: A Randomized Controlled Trial. Methods: In this study, these subjects were assigned into three groups, a control group (n=10), experiment group I (n=10) and experiment group II (n=10). The subjects in experimental group I were intervened by WBC (-130℃, 3 minutes) before induced EIMD, experimental group II were intervened by WBC (-130℃, 3 minutes) after induced EIMD and control group weren't by any intervened after induced EIMD. Results: First, In the comparison of the PPT, there were significant variations with the lapse the time in three groups (p<.001) and there was a significant interaction of time and group (p<.001). In the among group comparison, the PPT of experimental group II was significantly larger than those of other groups (p<.01). Second, In the comparison of the CK, there were significant variations with the lapse the time in three groups (p<.001) and there was a significant interaction of time and group (p<.001). In the among group comparison, the CK of experimental group II was significantly smaller than those of other groups (p<.001). Third, In the comparison of the LDH, there were significant variations with the lapse the time in three groups (p<.01) and there was a significant interaction of time and group (p<.001). In the among group comparison, the LDH of experimental group II was significantly smaller than those of other groups (p<.001). Conclusion: The above results revealed that the WBC intervention after an exercise had a positive effect of muscle function after EIMD.
