The variation of assimilable organic carbon(AOC) concentration at each condition of ozonation was investigated using a model water and drinking water resource. AOC concentration of model raw water and drinking water resource tended to increase at low ozone dose. The maximum AOC concentration was detected when the residual ozone begin to be measured. Also, the AOC concentration increase at pH 8 compared to both pH 6 and 7 while that for pH 9 decreased rapidly. The removal characteristics of trihalomethane formation potential(THMFP) by ozonation was also investigated. Unlike the trend of AOC, the THMFP concentration never increased by ozonation but decreased even at low ozone dosage. From these results, the ozone dosage would be effective to simultaneously decrease both AOC and THMFP.

The realization of the photoresist(PR) removal method with vaporized water and ozone gas mixture has been studied for the LCD TFT array manufacturing. The developed PR stripper uses the water boundary layer control method based on the high concentration ozone production technology. We develop the prototype of PR stripper and experiment to find the optimal process parameter condition like as the ozone gas flow/concentration, process reaction time and thin boundary layer formation. As a results, we realize the LCD PR strip rate over the 0.4 ${\mu}m/min$ and this PR removal rate is more than 5 times higher than the conventional immersion type ozonized water process.
The advanced oxidation process (AOP) using ozone combined with hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet treatment were evaluated for biodegradable dissolved organic carbon (EDOC) formation and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) removal. Oxidation treatment were conducted alone or combination with ozone, hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet processes. Ozone dosage of ozone process was varied from $0.5mg/l{\ell}\cdot}min$ to $5mg/{\ell}{\cdot}min$. Ozone/hydrogen peroxide process was done using $20mg/{\ell}{\cdot}min$ of hydrogen peroxide concentration. Ozone/ultraviolet process was irradiated with $12mW/cm^2$ of density and 254nm. Ozone dosage was varied from $0.5mg/{\ell}{\cdot}min$ to $5mg/{\ell}{\cdot}min$ at the ozone/hydrogen peroxide and ozone/ultraviolet processes too. Contact time of all the process was 20 minutes. Oxidation treatment were performed on microfiltration effluent samples. BDOC formation was reached to an optimum at ozone dosage of $1.5mg/{\ell}{\cdot}min$ in the ozone/hydrogen peroxide process and $1mg/{\ell}{\cdot}min$ in ozone/ultraviolet process, after which BDOC formation was decreased at higher ozone dosages. But BDOC formation was increased with ozone dosages increasing in ozone process. The efficiency of DOC removal was higher AOPs than ozone process. Ozone/ultraviolet proces was the highest for DOC removal efficiency in each process. THMFP. removal efficiency by ozone/ultraviolet process was higher than that by each of ozone process and ozone/hydrogen peroxide process.

This work investigates the relationship between the sea breeze circulation and ozone concentrations during cold water events in the southeastern coastal area of the Korean Peninsula, where coastal upwelling frequently occur. This analysis was performed based on the classification of two categories, such as cold water and non-cold water events, over the period of 2000-2009. The low air temperature ($0.5^{\circ}C$), low SST ($5^{\circ}C$) and the wind direction(southerly) are the features of the cold water events in the Southeastern coastal area. Moreover, ozone concentrations in the cases of the sea breeze circulation and cold water events were significantly lower (below 30 ppb) than those (70~100 ppb) in the non-clod water events, because of the low air temperature ($10{\sim}20^{\circ}C$) and high wind speed (3~5 m/s) around the southeastern coastal area.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the behavior of ozone in DI water and the reaction with wafers during the semiconductor wet cleaning process. The solubility of ozone in DI water was not only dependent on the temperature but also directly proportional to the input concentration of ozone. The lower the initial ozone concentration and the temperature, the longer the half-life time of ozone. The reaction order of ozone in DI water was calculated to be around 1.5. The redox potential reached a saturation value in 5min and slightly increased as the input ozone concentrations increased. The completely hydrophilic surface was created in Imin when HF etched silicon wafer was cleaned in ozonized DI water containing higher ozone concentrations than 2ppm. Spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements showed that the chemical oxide formed by ozonized DI water was measured to be thicker than that by piranha solution. The wafers contaminated with a non-ionic surfactant were more effectively cleaned in ozonized DI water than in piranha and ozonized piranha solutions.
Stomatal closing by ozone and water stress could reduce further ozone injury by inhibition of ozone influx to the tissue. Direct effect of ozone on stomata can be explained from two aspects which are a stimulation of stomatal closing and an inhibition of stomatal opening. An increase of $Ca^{2+}$ influx into cytoplasm by ozone could stimulate potassium efflux ion channel and inhibits inward potassium ion channels. By this mechanism ozone could induce stomatal closing. On the other hand, ozone could inhibit stomatal opening by affecting the activity of $H^{+}$ dependent ATPase of the membrane in guard cells. This would inhibit proton efflux which precede stomatal opening. It is also possible that ozone could reduce the activity of photosynthesis in guard cells which lead to affect the production of osmotically active sugars and energy. Indirect effect of ozone to stomata is through the effect of $CO_2$ elevation as a result of damage of the photozynthetic machinery. This indirect effect is slower than the direct effect.
The effects of pre-treatment methods (water cooling, water cooling+ozone, precooling+microbubble, water cooling+ozone+microbubble) after harvest on the quality of 'Mipung' chestnut were studied. Changes in quality of chestnut were greater precooling treatments effect than washing treatments. But, decaying rate and total microorganism were significantly differences among treatments. The decaying rate after 12 weeks storage was highest at 20.0% in non-treatments and lowest at 3.3% in water cooling+ozone and water cooling+ozone+microbubble treatments. The total microorganism immediately after washing treatments was in the order non-treatments (4.4 log CFU/g) > water cooling treatments (4.0 log CFU/g) > water cooling+ozone+microbubble treatments (3.5 log CFU/g) > water cooling+ozone treatments (3.4 log CFU/g) > water cooling+microbubble treatments (3.3 log CFU/g), and after 12 weeks storage was increased within 4.7 to 5.9 log CFU/g. Thus, the washing treatments, especially ozone treatments, extended the shelf-life of the 'Mipung' chestnut by inhibiting the decaying.
In order to reduce the amount of waste water generated from textile dyeing process and processing water, cotton fabric was bleached with ozone in ozone/water contact system, and dyed. The results obtained from the measurement of whiteness, reflectance, tensile strength, color difference, and K/S value of treated samples were as follow : 1) In ozone bleaching, factors affect whiteness most are treatment time and ozone dosage. As treatment time is lengthened, whiteness increases. Futhermore, bleaching effect is high in acidic treatment, but low in alkaline treatment. 2) As bleaching goes on, maximum absorption wave length shifts to shoter wavelengths. 3) As treatment time is lengthened or pH of treatment is low, tensile strenth of treated fabric decrease. 4) In all cases, color difference of dyed cotton fabrics in above 2% o.w.f. dyestuff concentration don't go beyond 1∼2 AN unit, compared with standard.

This research was to determine and compare the inactivation of total coliform as the indicator organism with chlorine, chlorine dioxide and ozone for drinking water treatment. The inactivation of total coliform was experimentally analyzed for the dose of disinfectant, contact time, pH, Temperature and DOC. The experiments for the characterization of inactivation were performed in a series of batch processes with the total coliform as a general indicator organism based on chlorine, chlorine dioxide and ozone as disinfectants. The nearly 2.4, 3.0, 3.9 log inactivation of total coliform killed by injecting 1mg/L at 5 minutes for chlorine, chlorine dioxide and ozone. For the inactivation of 99.9%, Disinfectants required were 1.70, 1.00 and 0.60 mg/L for chlorine, chlorine dioxide and ozone, respectively. The bactericidal effects of disinfectants were decreased as the pH increased in the range of pH 6-9. The influence of pH change on the killing effect of chlorine dioxide was not strong, but that on ozone and free chlorine was sensitive. The bactericidal effects of the disinfectants were increased as the temperature increase. The activation energies were 36,053, 29,822, 24,906 J/mol of chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone for coliforms. The inactivation effects were shown in the lowest order of chlorine, chlorine dioxide and ozone.
Polypropylene is oxidized with UV/ozone as a function of UV treatment time and ozone flow rate and its surface characteristics are investigated using contart angle measurements and XPS. The aging behavior of oxidized surface is investigated under air, water and ethylene glycol as the aging media. Adhesion strength is also investigated using a lap shear test. Polar surface energy increases with increasing UV/ozone treatment time as well as ozone flow rate. No polar surface energy change is observed under water aging, while under air aging it decreases significantly within 2-3 days and reaches the close value as that of the untreated PP. Adhesion strength increases with increasing UV/ozone treatment time as well as ozone flow rate.
