강판 종별 온도에 따른 산화 민감도 조사 (Investigation of Oxidation Sensitivity with Temperature of Steel Plate Type)

  • Experiments were conducted to investigate the sensitivity of steel plate oxidation with temperature in a simulated furnace. Used steel plates were a general steel and a high tensile steel. Porous media burner (PM burner) used in model furnace was made for uniform temperature profile. The surrounding temperature was controlled by adjusting the flow rate of the mixture in the combustor. Oxide layer analysis was performed using SEM image analysis and EDS line scanning. Both steel sheets showed a tendency to increase the thickness of the steel sheet surface oxide layer as the temperature increases, and it was confirmed that the flaking phenomenon in surface oxidation layer appeared when the temperature was above a certain temperature.

  • The electrochemical behavior of dissolved hydrogen (H2) was investigated at a Pt electrode in a high temperature LiOH-H3BO3 solution. The diffusion current of the H2 oxidation was proportional to the concentration of the dissolved H2 as well as the reciprocal of the temperature. In the polarization curve, a potential region in which the oxidation current decreases despite an increase in the applied potential between the H2 oxidation and the water oxidation regions was observed. This potential region was interpreted as being caused by the formation of a Pt oxide layer. Using the properties of the Cl- ion that reduces the growth rate of the Pt oxide layer, it was confirmed that there is a correlation between the Cl- ion concentration and the transient current of the H2 oxidation.

수중 미량 잔류항생물질 Erythromycin, Sulfamethazine, Sulfathiazole의 오존산화제거 (Removal of Residual Antibiotics - Erythromycin, Sulfamethazine and Sulfathiazole - from water by Ozone Oxidation)

  • Oxidation of erythromycin, sulfamethazine and sulfathiazole by ozone was experimentally investigated to see the effects of background water quality such as ultrapure water, humic acid and biologically treated wastewater and water temperature on the removal rate, consequently to provide design information when the ozone treatment process is adopted. Initial concentration of the antibiotics was spiked to $10{\mu}g/l$ and ozone dose was 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 mg/l. While the removal rate of erythromycin under ultrapure water background by ozone oxidation was over 99%, that under humic acid and biologically treated wastewater background was markedly reduced to the range of 59.8%~99% and 17.0%~99%, respectively. When water temperature is decreased from $20^{\circ}C$ to $4^{\circ}C$, the removal rate is reduced from the range of 17.0%~99% to the range of 9.4%~97.4% under biologically treated wastewater background. The effects of background and temperature on the removal rate of sulfamethazine and sulfathiazole were similar to erythromycin, but the degree was different. Therefore, it is concluded that the background of water to be treated as well as water temperature should be taken into consideration when the design factor such as ozone dose is determined to meet the treatment objective in the ozone treatment process.

  • 고농도 페놀폐수 전처리 습식산화공정의 반응온도, 초기 pH 및 균일촉매 ($CuSO_4$) 등이 후처리 호기성 생물학적 공정에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 습식산화에서의 높은 반응온도와 산성 초기조건이 후처리 생물학적 산화공정에서 높은 산화속도와 최종 COD 제거율을 유발하였다. 습식산화에서 균일촉매를 사용하면 전처리 습식산화반응은 낮은 반응온도에서도 높은 COD 제거속도를 보였으나, 후처리 생물학적 산화공정에서는 낮은 최종 COD 제거율을 나타내었다.

  • $ZnCe_{1+y}O_2$상에서 CO산화반응 속도가 $300{\sim}500^{\circ}C$영역에서 측정되었다. 산화반응 속도는 CO에 1차 O2에 0.5차를 나타내는 속도식에 따랐으며 격자점의 산소와 Zn 도프에 기인되어 생성된 Vo-2e' 결함이 CO 및 O2의 활성화 sites로 작용되었다. 전기전도도 데이타와 rate law로 부터 산화반응 메카니즘이 규명되었으며 율속과정이 제안되었다

국내 수입탄 촤의 산화반응률 측정을 위한 해석기법 비교 (Determination of Char Oxidation Rates with Different Analytical Methods)

  • Char oxidation experiments were performed with a sub-bituminous roto-middle coal in the Drop Tube Furnace (DTF) at atmospheric pressure condition. While temperatures varied between 900, 1100, 1400 $^{\circ}C$, particle size, mass, particle temperature, and CO/$CO_2$ concentration were obtained to be used for kinetic analysis of the char oxidation. This study addresses several different methods to analyze the char consumption rate, which are classified as energy balance method, ash-traced mass method, flue-gas based method, and particle size based method. The char consumption rate obtained with such methods was compared with the results of Monson et al.$^{(24)}$ While there are some differences between them because of differences in experimental apparatus and parameters to be measured, the kinetic results seems to be reasonable enough to be incorporated in a numerical modeling of coal combustion.

  • In recent years, rapid technological advances in the textile and dyeing industry have yielded benefits to society but have also generated new and significant environmental problems. The treatment alternatives applicable for the removal of color vary, depending upon the type of dye wastewater Advanced oxidation processes are considered to provide more permanent merits. One of these oxidation treatments attracting much attention is photocatalytic oxidation, which uses TiO$_2$ due to its non-toxic, insoluble liquid as well as a highly reactive nature under UV irradiation. This study sets out to demonstrate the effect of photocatalyst dosage, dye concentrations, pH and light intensity on color removal efficiency under aerobic conditions. The results of this study show Rhodamine B(RhB) was not decolorized when a dye solution was exposed only to air or treated by TiO$_2$ only In the presence of both TiO$_2$ and UV light, however, the presence of RhB decreased up to 95 % within 60minutes. The more addition TiO$_2$ and the more diluted dye solution, showed a higher removal rate.

장쇄 지방산 산화 장애와 치료적 접근법 (Long-chain Fatty Acid Oxidation Disorders and Therapeutic Approach)

  • Long-chain fatty acid oxidation disorders (LC-FAOD) are an autosomal recessive inherited rare disease group that result in an acute metabolic crisis and chronic energy deficiency owing to the deficiency in an enzyme that converts long-chain fatty acids into energy. LC-FAOD includes carnitine palmitoyltransferase type 1 (CPT1), carnitine-acylcarnitine translocase (CACT), carnitine palmitoyltransferase type 2 (CPT2), very long-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (VLCAD), long-chain 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase (LCHAD), and trifunctional protein (TFP) deficiencies. Common symptoms of LC-FAOD are hypoketotic hypoglycemia, cardiomyopathy, and myopathy. Depending on symptom onset, the disease can be divided as neonatal period, late infancy and early childhood, adolescence, or adult onset, but symptoms can appear at any time. The neonatal screening test (NBS) can be used to identify the characteristic plasma acylcarnitine profiles for each disease and confirmed by deficient enzyme analysis or molecular testing. Before introduction of NBS, the mortality rate of LC-FAOD was very high. With NBS implementation as routine neonatal care, the mortality rate was dramatically decreased, but severe symptoms such as rhabdomyolysis recur frequently and affect the quality of life. Triheptanoin (Dojolvi®), the first drug for pediatric and adult patients with molecularly confirmed LC-FAOD, has recently been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2020. In this review, the diagnosis of LC-FAOD and treatment including triheptanoin are summarized.

달걀 노른자위 레시틴의 첨가가 물/카놀라 기름 에멀션의 지방질 산화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Addition of Egg Yolk Lecithin on the Lipid Oxidation of a Water/canola Oil Emulsion)

  • 350 ppm 농도로 물/카놀라 기름 에멀션에 첨가된 달걀 노른자 위 레시틴은 에멀션 기름의 철 이온에 의한 자동산화와 클로로필에 의한 감광산화에 유의한 영향을 나타내지 않았다. 에멀션의 산화 중 달걀 노른자위 레시틴으로부터 유래한 인지방질은 분해되었으며 감광산화에 비해 자동산화에서 분해 속도가 높았다. 그러나 PC와 PE 사이의 분해 속도는 두 종류의 산화에서 모두 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다(p>0.05).

  • The thermal oxidation of Ge$_{0.2}$Si$_{0.8}$ in wet ambient has been investigated by Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry(RBS). A uniform Ge$_{0.2}$Si$_{0.8}$O$_{2}$ oxide is formed at temperatures below 650.deg. C for polycrystalline and below 700.deg. C for single crystalline substrates. At higher temperatures Ge becomes depleted from the oxide and finally SiO$_{2}$ oxide is formed with Ge piled-ub behind it. The transition between the different oxide types depends also on the crystallinity of Ge$_{0.2}$Si$_{0.8}$. When a uniform Ge$_{0.2}$Si$_{0}$8/O$_{2}$ oxide grows, its thickness is proportional to the square root of the oxidation time, which suggests that the rate noting process is the diffusive transport of oxidant across the oxide. It is believed the oxidation is controlled by the competition between the diffusion of Ge or Si in Ge$_{0.2}$Si$_{0.8}$ and the movement of oxidation front.t.oxidation front.t.
