Encapsulated Silicon Nanocrystals Formed in Silica by Ion Beam Synthesis

  • The photoluminescence (PL) emission of Si nanocrystals synthesized by 400 keV Si ion implanted in $SiO_2$ is studied as a function of ion dose and annealing time. The formation of nanocrystals at around 600 nm from the surface was confirmed by RBS and HRTEM, and the Si nanocrystals showed a wide and very intense PL emission at 700-900 nm. The intensity of this emission showed a typical behaviour with a fast transitory increase to reach a saturation with the annealing time, however, the red shift increased continuously because of the Ostwald ripening. The oversaturation of dose derived a decrease of PL intensity because of the diminishment of quantum confinement. A strong enhancement of PL intensity by H passivation was confirmed also, and the possible mechanism is discussed.

과포화 교통상태에의 적용을 위한 시뮬레이션 모형개발 (Development of a Traffic Simulation Model Applicable for Oversaturated)

  • Many studies have been performed and applied successfully for the control of undersaturated intersections, but most of them have been ineffective or invalid in oversaturated conditions. There has been relatively limited research in traffic control for oversaturated environments, and most has been too theoretical to be applied in a real system. Therefore, a traffic simulation model specifically designed for oversaturated arterial networks was developed. Two control objectives of traffic signal timing in oversaturated conditions were taken into consideration. One was to maximize the throughput, or the number of vehicles processed during a given time period. The other was to prevent queue spillback or to minimize the occurrence of queue spillback if inevitable.

An Improvement Method of Color Image Using Saturation Extension

  • In this paper, we propose a color image improvement method. The proposed algorithms are classified with the adaptive contrast stretching method for contrast enhancement and the adaptive saturation enhancement method for saturation enhancement. The adaptive contrast stretching method is to compensate a significant change of brightness while luminance is processed. The adaptive saturation enhancement method inhibits its saturation from de-saturation and oversaturation while chrominance is processed. The proposed algorithms are focused on a preference color processing in order to generate better image quality than the algorithms focused on a uniform color processing for human vision.

심층 합성곱 신경망을 이용한 교통신호등 인식 (Traffic Light Recognition Using a Deep Convolutional Neural Network)

  • The color of traffic light is sensitive to various illumination conditions. Especially it loses the hue information when oversaturation happens on the lighting area. This paper proposes a traffic light recognition method robust to these illumination variations. The method consists of two steps of traffic light detection and recognition. It just uses the intensity and saturation in the first step of traffic light detection. It delays the use of hue information until it reaches to the second step of recognizing the signal of traffic light. We utilized a deep learning technique in the second step. We designed a deep convolutional neural network(DCNN) which is composed of three convolutional networks and two fully connected networks. 12 video clips were used to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. Experimental results show the performance of traffic light detection reporting the precision of 93.9%, the recall of 91.6%, and the recognition accuracy of 89.4%. Considering that the maximum distance between the camera and traffic lights is 70m, the results shows that the proposed method is effective.

Cell Transmission 이론에 근거한 시스템최적 신호시간산정 (Development of A System Optimum Traffic Control Strategy with Cell Transmission Model)

  • 신호교차로로 구성된 네트워크의 시스템최적 신호시간산정을 위해 Cell Transmission 이론을 교통류 모형으로 활용한 신호최적화 모형을 제안한다. Cell Transmission 모형은 기존에 소개된 신호최적화 모형과는 달리 충격파, 대기행렬의 길이, 그리고 하류부 교차로 대기행렬의 역류(Spillback)과 같은 과포화 현상을 표현하는데 적절한 이론적이고 실제적인 배경을 지원한다. 모형에서 기점을 출발한 수요차량은 종점에 도착할 때까지 경로선택을 통해서, 그리고 신호시스템은 이러한 수요의 움직임 고려하여 신호시간요소의 최적화를 통한 네트워크의 비용을 최소화하기 위해 서로 협력한다는 의미에서 제안된 모형은 시스템 최적화를 의미한다. 모형은 혼합정수계획법으로 정식화되며 최적신호전략과 고정신호전략간의 실험계획을 통해 구축된 모형을 비교·평가한다.

통행시간과 점유율 기반의 실시간 신호운영 알고리즘 (A Real-time Traffic Signal Control Algorithm based on Travel Time and Occupancy Rate)

  • 본 연구에서는 통행시간과 점유율의 융합 정보를 이용하는 새로운 실시간 신호제어 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 교통정보시스템의 통행시간 정보를 신호운영에 적용하였으며, 통행시간으로 부터 산정한 포화도를 신호제어에 이용하기 위한 프로세스를 개발하였다. 결정적 지체모형을 이용해 통행시간으로부터 대기행렬 길이를 생성하고, 대기행렬 길이를 다시 포화도로 변환하는 과정이 적용되었다. 또한 통행시간 기반 포화도와 루프검지기 포화도를 융합해 신호시간이 산정되도록 하였다. 신호제어 알고리즘의 효과평가를 위해 미시적 시뮬레이션 분석을 시행하였으며, 과포화 상태에서 기존 루프검지기 기반 실시간 신호제어 대비 최대 27%의 지체 감소 효과를 확인하였다. 또한 과포화 및 검지기 고장상황에 대한 효과적이고, 유용한 대응이 가능함을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서는 교통신호제어시스템과 교통정보시스템의 교통정보 통합이용 방안을 제시하였다는데 의의가 있겠다.

과포화교통상태에서의 SPLIT COORDINATION신호제어전략 (Green-Split Coordination Strategy in Oversaturated Signal System)

  • The subject this paper is the signal control strategy under oversaturated conditions. The nature of traffic control for oversaturation is essentially different from the standard control modes. While under non-saturated situation traffic control is needed for the sake of safety and efficiency, the throughput is essential under oversaturated conditions. Therefore berth objective and strategies differ. For an oversaturated stream the cycle time and the signal offset are thought to be of rather secondary importance. For this case the green split may well be the most important control variable to serve the excessive demand. Up to now, however, most efforts have concentrated on the strategy with the concept which lies just on the extension of Webster's. "Green-split Coordination Strategy for Over-Saturated Networks", presents newly contrived three types of strategies named Forward-coordination, Backward-coordination and Network-coordination respectively and describes the algorithms with the evaluations. The forward coordination strategy treats the forward wave of flow between two signals. The aim is to prevent the outbreak of queue due to the accumulation of temporary excess of demand in near-saturation or saturation flow. The backward coordination strategy treats the backward rave of flow between two signals. The goal is to prevent the waste of green time caused by the exit block at the upstream signal. for this purpose a feedback regulation is provided of the upstream green-split so that the inflow-outflow balance is kept zero. The resultant surplus of green time is alloted to other signal stages. Also here the examination is made of the appropriate value of the feedback control parameter. The network coordination strategy is operated to maximize the network throughput in a specific direction applying a bang-bang control at the bottleneck intersection. This is a type of intervenient control for policy reasons. For this strategy the green-split coordinations, particuarly the backward coordination, are essential as the tactical elements. In order to evaluate the preposed strategies those are compared with the latest existing strategy called saturation-degree-ratio control by the simulation experiments in an assumed 4$\times$4 grid network. The results are satisfactory showing a 10-15% reduction in delays and a 15% increase in network capacity.

국부영역 색포화 평가 방법을 통한 안개제거 알고리즘 (Novel Defog Algorithm via Evaluation of Local Color Saturation)

  • 본 논문은 먼지, 물방울, 안개 등과 같이 빛의 산란 및 감쇄를 발생시키는 외부요인에 의해 열화된 영상의 화질을 향상시키기 위한 새로운 방법을 제시한다. 기존의 안개제거 방법들은 전역대기 산란광의 오추정 및 매개체 전달량 오류로 인하여 영상을 복원하였을 때 명암대비가 낮거나 일부 영역에서 색이 왜곡되는 문제가 발생한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이를 개선하기 위해 강인한 전역대기 산란광 추정방법과 국부영역 색포화 평가방법을 통한 매개체 전달량 추정방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 전역대기 산란광 오추정에 기인하여 발생하는 매개체 전달량 오류와 색포화 문제를 개선하였으며, 이를 통해 복원영상의 화질을 향상시켰다. 제안하는 방법과 기존 방법과의 비교 실험결과는 전역대기 산란광 추정의 정확성과 복원된 영상의 객관적, 주관성 성능 향상을 보여준다.

충북 단양 봉양폐탄광 산성광산배수의 수질오염과 침전물의 특성: 철, 알루미늄의 거동을 중심으로 (Characteristics of Water Contamination and Precipitates of Acid Mine Drainage, Bongyang Abandoned Coal Mine, Danyang, Chungbuk Province with Emphasis on Fe and Al behaviors)

  • 충청북도 단양 월악산국립공원 상류지역의 봉양폐탄광으로부터 발생하는 산성광산배수의 오염 특징과 침전물의 특성을 수질화학분석, XRD, 주사전자현미경(SEM), 적외선분광분석(IR), 핵자기공명분석($^{27}Al$ NMR)을 이용하여 연구하였다. 수질은 pH와 용존이온의 침전에 따라서 변화하며, 포화지수 계산 결과 철, 알루미늄 광물종이 다수 과포화되어 있다. 오렌지색 침전물은 슈베르트마나이트와 침철석으로 구성되며, Leptothrix orchracea 박테리아가 생장한다. 백색 내지 회백색의 침전물은 대부분 독성이 강한 알루미늄 계열이 주를 이루는데, 배스알루미나이트는 결정도가 매우 낮다. 이 백색질 알루미늄광물에서는 소량의 Al-중합체 $Al_{13}$-Tridecamer가 확인된다. 봉양폐탄광의 산성광산배수를 저감, 제어하기 위해서는 무엇보다 함알루미늄 광물의 침전과 용해도를 조절하는 것이 중요하다.

화순 폐탄광지역 광산배수와 침전 및 증발잔류광물에 대한 지구화학적 및 광물학적 연구 (Geochemistry and Mineralogy of Mine Drainage Water Precipitate and Evaporite Minerals in the Hwasoon Area)

  • This study investigated the geochemical characteristics of mine drainage discharged from an abandoned coal mine in the Hwasoon area. Surface water samples were collected from 23 locations along the Hancheon creek. The concentration of Zn and Cu in stream waters was highest at low pH (3.53), whereas the content of TDS and TDI was highest at high pH (7.78) due to the concentration of Ca, $HCO_3$ and $SO_4$. At the upstream site, the Ba, Fe, Mn, Zn, and $SO_4$ contents were relatively high but decreased significantly with the distance from the coal mine. On the contrary, the Na and $NO_3$ contents were low at the upstream site but increased downstream. Yellow precipitate material collected in the Hancheon consisted mainly of iron and LOI. This yellow precipitate was heated from 100 to $900^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour. With increasing temperature, the intensity of hematite peaks were sharply produced in X-ray pattern and the absorption band Fe-O of hematite increased in IR due to dehydration and melting. The yellow to brown precipitate and evaporite materials were collected by a air-dry from the acid mine water at the laboratory. After drying, the concentration of ions in the acid water samples increased progressively in oversaturation with respect to either gypsum, ferrohexahydrite or quenstedetite. The X-ray powder diffraction studies identified that the precipitated and evaporated materials after drying were well crystallized gypsum, ferrohexahydrite and quenstedetite. Diagnostic peaks used for identification of gypsum were the 7.65, 4.28, 3.03, 2.87 and 2.48$\AA$ peaks and those for ferrohexahydrite were the 5.46, 5.12, 4.89, 4.44, 4.05, 3.62, 3.46, 3.40, 3.20, 3.03, 2.94, 2.53, 2.28, 2.07, 1.88 and 1.86${\AA} peaks. The IR spectra with OH-stretching, deformation of $H_2O$and ${SO_4}^{2-}$stretching vibration include the existence of gypsum, ferrohexahydrite and quenstedetite in the precipitated and evaporite materials. In the SEM and EDS analysis for the evaporite material, gypsum with well-crystallized, acicular, and columnar form was distinctly observed.
