In wireless mobile networks, the service area is partitioned into several registration areas (RAs). Every RA is associated with a mobility database called Visitor Location Register (VLR). The VLR is used to achieve the location management of the mobile terminals. When a mobile terminal enters a new RA, the VLR stores the current location information of the mobile terminal before serving any mobile services. At that time, if the VLR is full, the registration procedure fails, and the system can not deliver services to the mobile user under the existing cellular technology To resolve this problem, we propose a VLR overflow control scheme considering mobility of mobile users to accomodate incoming users during VLR overflow. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated by an analytic model in terms of costs for the location search and the location update, and compared with those of the overflow control scheme proposed by Lin[1].
Traditionally, ERM (Equivalent Random Method) is used to determine number of circuits in an overflow circuit group with rough traffic which has vmr(variance to mean ratio) greater than one. Recently, IPP(Interrupted Poisson Process) approximate method which represents the collective feature of the overflow has been introduced. The negative binomial loss formula can be applied to determine the required number of circuits in the overflow circuit group. In this paper, we deal with the negative binomial loss formula and determination method of number of circuits. We also analyze and compare these three loss formulas.

In this paper, we have implemented an overflow valve for EURO5 Type and the performance evaluation system based on IT. On injecting a diesel oil into an engine, it is necessity for an overflow valve that can sustain an engine oil status in front of the engine. In order to evaluate the performance of overflow valve, we need the leak test system with IT. The leak test system checks the pressure, switching time and operating time.
Flow with suction to water turbine must be in stable state at small hydraulic power plant. But because of water level fluctuation and water gate effect according to irregular supply of cooling water, it would happen to produce bubble and vortex and finally lead to problems in power-plant system. With utilizing the concept design of double size gate, surface water overflowed the overhead of gate for stable flow at suction. We developed the overflow condition and analyzed the design factor with existed one such as water level(overflow amount) and overhead of water gate(overflow figure). Flow test and CFD simulation say that flow have stable state around suction and 20% of wave reduction effect at surface layer after surface water overflow.

This study was conducted to assess the possibility of the field application of the iceharbor-type precast fishway. When overflow depth of weir is 4.0 cm in model fishway, upper part velocities appear appropriate for upstream migration of fish and the lowest overflow wall (right line) in lower part has shown velocity distribution more or less inadequate for upstream migration. Except that right line, left and middle line revealed that velocities are appropriate for upstream migration of fish. Therefore, we concluded that this fishway owing to be not broad growth width of overflow velocities according to increasing discharges can correspond to variation of water level. Also We consider that various velocities in fishway were effective, because slow velocity line can guide flow for upstream migration. For low flow, the arrangement of different crest level or each overflow part (higher left, middle and lower right, or lower left, middle and higher right) was more effactive than unform crert level. Hole plays an important role as migration pass during drought and flood flow. Therefore, We concluded that this fishway can cope with water depth variation by various overflow wall height change and raise the field applicability with better performance hydraulically and structurally.

This study is a preliminary investigation into the development of a construction method that will protect a reservoir even during over flows caused by severe flooding. Through hydraulic modeling tests, the destructive phenomena caused by spillway-junction scour during reservoir overflow were modeled, and the effects on the embankment during such an overflow and the spillway-junction movements are discussed. The reservoir destruction model used the Tanbu reservoir, located in Gangwondo Chuncheon-si Namsanmyeon (H=22 m, L=115 m), as the model reservoir and created an embankment with a 1/60 ratio. We review the spillway-junction safety factor during overflow and embankment movement following reinforcement measures for three different cases: no reinforcement, cemented sand and gravel (CSG) reinforcement and water-blocking sheet reinforcement. The results of this study confirmed that when the spillway-junction is exposed to soil, it is very vulnerable to overflow and that a water-blocking sheet or CSG reinforcement are very effective measures in preventing embankment destruction in the long-term period.
This study is to evaluate control effects of separation wall by surveying water quality and sewer overflows during dry and wet periods in combined sewer and separated sewer systems. Ravine water from the combined Seokgyo outfall with the separation wall was separated about four times larger than sewage flow during dry periods. The water quality of the combined Seokgyo outfall with separation wall during dry periods is flow weighed average BOD 61 mg/L, the combined Cheonseokgyo outfall without the separation wall is average BOD 71 mg/L, and the separated Pyeongsong center outfall is average BOD 41 mg/L. The BOD concentration in separated outfall form about 57% of the combined outfall, and this means the separated outfall (i.e. storm sewer) is polluted by inflow of sewage. The overflow load of the separated outfall is ten times higher than the combined outfall and its overflow load per rainfall is three times than combined outfall during the wet periods. Therefore, the control plan of overflow load is required in storm sewer. The control effects of the overflow load increased 79% by setting the separation wall in the combined sewer, and showed 27% increase without the separation wall in separated sewer, but forecasted over 80% increase of effects if the separation wall was set.

This paper proposes a two-stage Water Shield Automation System (WSAS) to predict the possibility of river overflow and vehicle flooding due to sudden rainfall. The WSAS uses a two-stage Deep Neural Network (DNN) model. First, a river overflow prediction module is designed with LSTM to decide whether the river is flooded by predicting the river's water level rise. Second, a vehicle flooding prediction module predicts flooding of underground parking lots by detecting flooded tires with YOLOv5 from CCTV images. Finally, the WSAS automatically installs the water barrier whenever the river overflow and vehicle flooding events happen in the underground parking lots. The only constraint to implementing is that collecting training data for flooded vehicle tires is challenging. This paper exploits the Image C&S data augmentation technique to synthesize flooded tire images. Experimental results validate the superiority of WSAS by showing that the river overflow prediction module can reduce RMSE by three times compared with the previous method, and the vehicle flooding detection module can increase mAP by 20% compared with the naive detection method, respectively.
In order to construct a dam, the diversion facility such as cofferdam and a diversion tunnel should be installed in advance. And size of a cofferdam depends on type of a main dam. According to the Korea Dam Design Standard, if the main dam is a concrete dam, design flood of the cofferdam is 1~2 years flood frequency. This means that overflow of the cofferdam occurs one time for 1 or 2 years, therefore, stability of the cofferdam should be secured against any overflow problem. In this study, failure probability analysis for the concrete cofferdam is performed considering the overflow. First of all, limit state function of the concrete cofferdam is defined for overturning, sliding and base pressure, and upstream water levels are set as El. 501 m, El. 503 m, El. 505 m, El. 507 m. Also, after literature investigation research, probabilistic characteristics of various random variables are determined, the failure probability of the concrete cofferdam is calculated using the Monte Carlo Simulation. As a result of the analysis, when the upstream water level rises, it means overflow, the failure probability increases rapidly. In particular, the failure probability is largest in case of flood loading condition. It is considered that the high upstream water level causes increase of the upstream water pressure and the uplift pressure on the foundation. In addition, among the overturning, the sliding and the base pressure, the overturing is the major cause for the cofferdam failure considering the overflow.
