  • The aim of this study was to investigate vitamin D status and factors associated with vitamin D deficiency among Koreans in their using Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) V. The subjects were 1,837 people who were 20-29 years old. The data were analyzed by ${\chi}^2$ test and multiple logistic regression analysis using weighted composite sample analysis. Vitamin D deficiency was reveled in 84.2% of subjects; 88.6% of women and 79.4% of men showed deficiency. In the multiple logistic regression analysis, the risk for vitamin D deficiency was higher in women (OR 1.84; 95% CI 1.31-2.56), non-married (OR 2.12; 95% CI 1.41-3.19), poor subjective health status (OR 1.94; 95% CI 1.16-3.25), and in the absence of moderate to vigorous physical activity (OR 3.38; 95% CI 1.85-6.16). Continued research on vitamin D levels at this time is needed since vitamin D deficiency among Koreans in their twenties will exacerbate health problems, both individually and socially. In addition, vitamin D has been shown to be closely related to time of exposure to sunlight and physical activity. Therefore, it is thought that long-term and planned efforts should be made at the national level, such as establishing schools and workplaces in which those in their twenties can perform outdoor activities and moderate to vigorous physical activity.

  • This study was conducted to estimate the relative performance of modules with changed characteristics due to long term exposure to the outdoor environment, with a specially made test device for simultaneous measurement of real time power output from the photovoltaic array, taking into account the inclined panel, direct irradiation, power being generated, temperature as well as the optimal analysis timing. In terminology description, M is an abbreviation of module and Group A, Group B are 10 modules series connection (1~10 of M), (11~20 of M) for each of them respectively. The overall mean voltage difference of M-18 with the lowest power output and M-14 with the highest output is-2.13V and it was identifiable that voltage difference was more concentrated to Group B. In addition, in case of M-2 and M-7, M-8, when compared with M-14, the overall mean voltage difference was -0.92V, -1.56 and -0.91V respectively showing the more concentration to Group A. When the temperature of module went up by $1^{\circ}C$, the mean voltage was reduced by 0.35V. For current, Group A was lower than Group B by-0.022A and the ratio of each group was 49.68% and 50.32% respectively, presumably the module with deteriorated properties were more concentrated to Group A relatively. From the comparison of relations with the comprehensive accumulation, M-2, M-7, M-8, M-16 and M-18 were those with deterioration of performance to the worst, thereby requiring precision examination. In comparative efficiency, M-14 was the most excellent one as 12.19% while M-18 as 10.53% was identified that its efficiency was comparatively rapidly reduced.

  • Water-soluble rubber asphalt-based waterproofing material, which is one of the waterproofing materials for building structures, is mainly used indoors (toilet, kitchen, balcony, etc.). In general, asphalt-based materials are used for non-exposed installation, rather than as exposed type as they do not deviate from their usual basic black pigmentation, and water-soluble rubber asphalt-based coating waterproofing materials are basically limited to indoors because of their low physical properties. Accordingly, in order to improve the tensile and elongation properties, a silane coupling agent, an inorganic filler, and a processor oil w ere added to improve the physical properties, and accordingly, the basic physical properties of the outdoor coating waterproofing material quality standard were analyzed. As a result, the water-soluble rubber asphalt coating waterproofing material compared with the exposure quality standard showed a result that exceeded the basic physical property quality standard of silicone rubber in all items under test evaluation, but the tensile strength and tear strength of the first class of urethane rubber were chloroprene. It was found that the performance compared to the quality standards of rubber-based tear strength was about 34.2% to about 40.8%.
