날개의 전개성능 확인을 위한 공압식 시험장치 성능 해석 (Performance Analysis of Pneumatic Device for Verification of Canard Deployment Performance)

  • In this paper, a pneumatic device for the deployment performance verification of canards deployed by inertia has been designed and the performance of the pneumatic device has been proven through analysis and tests. The pneumatic conveying process, orifice opening process and piston movement process of the pneumatic device were investigated by using numerical methods. The orifice diameter, pressure in a pressure tank and type of gas were regarded as the main design parameters of the pneumatic device. The error rate between analysis and test results under the same conditions was within 4 %. The accuracy of numerical methods used in this study were validated.

아음속 횡단류로 분사되는 이상유동 제트의 분무특성 (Spray Characteristics of Two-Phase Flow Jets into a Subsonic Crossflow)

  • An experimental study on the spray characteristics of aerated-liquid jets discharged from effervescent injectors to a subsonic crossflow was conducted to investigate effects of a gas to liquid mass ratio (GLR) and a ratio of the orifice length to the diameter (L/d). The present effervescent injectors consist of a plain orifice injector and an aerator. To analyze breakup length and spray trajectory, instantaneous spray images were taken by a high speed camera. As the GLR increased, the spray penetration became higher under the same liquid mass flow rate and the breakup length became shorter due to the bubble expansion or the annular liquid film breakup. To predict the spray trajectory of two-phase flow jets into the crossflow, the homogeneous and the separated flow models were compared.

이중 충돌제트의 혼합 성능 연구 (Mixing Performance of Unlike Doublet Impinging Liquid Jets)

  • 이중 충돌형(unlike doublet impinging) 분사기의 직경변화에 따른 혼합특성을 모사 추진제에 의한 실험적인 방법으로 연구하였다. 분사유동은 레이놀즈수 2,500부터 12,000 사이의 난류제트를 사용하였으며, 분사공 직경 비를 1부터 1.5까지 확대시켜 직경변화에 따른 혼합특성을 고찰하였다. 분사공의 형상변수는 최적의 혼합특성을 갖는 설계치로 고정하였으며, 대기압 하의 분사유동장의 공기역학적 영향은 배제하였다. 매개변수로서 운동량비를 사용하여 혼합효율의 변화(mixing doublet impinging)를 고찰하였으며, 패터네이터(patternater)를 사용하여, 연료와 산화제의 국소 질량분포 측정 및 혼합비 분포를 측정하였다. 운동량비와 혼합효율의 상관성을 침투정도로 고려하여 연료와 산화제의 속도비와 혼합효율의 상관성을 고찰하였다. 분사공 직경이 증가됨에 따라 최대 혼합효율점이 운동량비가 증가되는 방향으로 이동함을 보였으며, 연료와 산화제의 속도 비 0.65~0.7영역에서 분사공 직경변화와 무관하게 혼합효율이 최대가 되었다. 또한 혼합효율은 추진제의 분사 충돌 시 상대제트의 침투 깊이 정도에 따라 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.

오리피스 형상에 따른 단공노즐 액체제트의 유동특성 (Effect of Orifice Geometry on Flow Characteristics of Liquid Jet from Single Hole Nozzle)

  • 본 연구에서는 원형 노즐과 타원형 노즐을 이용하여 공동현상과 수력튀김 현상이 유동특성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 오리피스 길이 대 직경비(L/d)와 타원형 노즐의 종횡비(a/b)가 서로 다른 분사기들을 제작하여 분무실험을 수행하였다. 분사압력 증가에 따라 공동현상이 발생할 경우 유량계수가 서서히 감소하였으나 수력튀김 영역에서는 유량계수가 급격히 떨어진 후 일정한 값을 유지함을 확인하였다. 하지만 타원형 노즐에서 장축지름(a)과 단축지름(b) 대비 오리피스 길이의 비인 L/b가 8 이상, L/a가 8 이하인 경우, 유량계수 및 액체제트 형상은 기존의 원형 노즐과는 상당히 다른 결과를 나타내었다. 정상유동 상태인 경우 타원형 노즐에서 분사된 액주는 원형 노즐과는 달리 하류로 가면서 장축에서는 분무각이 감소하였으며 단축에서는 분무각이 커지는 모습을 보였다.

Comparative Study of Mass Transfer and Bubble Hydrodynamic Parameters in Bubble Column Reactor: Physical Configurations and Operating Conditions

  • In this paper, effects of physical configurations and operating conditions on bubble column performance were analyzed in terms of bubble hydrodynamic and mass transfer parameters. Bubble column with 3 different dimensions and 7 gas diffusers (single / multiple orifice and rigid / flexible orifice) were applied. High speed camera and image analysis program were used for analyzing the bubble hydrodynamic parameters. The local liquid-side mass transfer coefficient ($k_L$) was estimated from the volumetric mass transfer coefficient ($k_La$) and the interfacial area (a), which was deduced from the bubble diameter ($D_B$) and the terminal bubble rising velocity ($U_B$). The result showed that the values of kLa and a increased with the superficial gas velocity (Vg) and the size of bubble column. Influences of gas diffuser physical property (orifice size, thickness and orifice number) can be proven on the generated bubble size and the mass transfer performance in bubble column. Concerning the variation of $k_L$ coefficients with bubble size, 3 zones (Zone A, B and C) can be observed. For Zone A and Zone C, a good agreement between the experimental and the predicted $K_L$ coefficients was obtained (average difference of ${\pm}15%$), whereas the inaccuracy result (of ${\pm}40%$) was found in Zone B. To enhance the high $k_La$ coefficient and absorption efficiency in bubble column, it was unnecessary to generate numerous fine bubbles at high superficial gas velocity since it causes high power consumption with the great decrease of $k_L$ coefficients.

  • 가스터빈에서 연료 분무 노즐은 연소 특성에 영향을 미치는 중요한 부품이다. 스월 분무 장치를 설계하기 위하여 유량과 분무액적 평균 직경을 설계변수로 정하고 연료 분무 노즐의 최적화를 수행하였다. 설계변수는 이중 노즐의 실험값들을 비교하여 중요한 영향을 미치는 변수로 선정하였다. 민감도는 유량과 분무액적 평균 직경의 변화에 따른 값을 사용하였다. 이중 오리피스형 스월 분무장치의 형상 최적설계를 통하여 유량의 미립화를 높이도록 연구하였다. 최적설계를 위하여 실험 계획법을 이용하였으며, 영향을 적게 미치는 설계변수들은 설계대상에서 제외하였다. 분무 노즐의 분무액적 평균 직경을 사용한 결과는 Jasuja의 액적 평균 이론을 이용하여 도출된 결과와 유사함을 알 수 있었다. 연구 결과는 이중 오리피스형스월 분무장치와 이와 비슷한 종류의 노즐 최적화를 위한 특성을 파악하고 최적의 유량과 허용 공차를 제시하였다.

Flow-accelerated corrosion assessment for SA106 and SA335 pipes with elbows and welds

  • A FAC (flow-accelerated corrosion) test was performed for a straight pipe composed of the SA335 Gr P22 and SA106 Gr B (SA106-SA335-SA106) types of steel with welds as a function of the flow rate in the range of 7-12 m/s at 150 ℃ and with DO < 5 ppb at pH levels ranging from 7 to 9.5 up to a cumulative test time of 7200 h using the FAC demonstration test facility. Afterward, the experimental pipe was examined destructively to investigate opposite effects as well as entrance effects. In addition, the FAC rate obtained using a pipe specimen with a 50 mm inner diameter was compared with the rate obtained from a rotating cylindrical electrode. The effects of the complicated fluid flows at the elbow and orifice of the pipeline were also evaluated using another test section designed to examine the independent effects of the orifice and the elbow depending on the distance and the combined effects on orifice and elbow. The tests were performed under the following conditions: 130-150 ℃, DO < 5 ppb, pH 7 and a flow rate of 3 m/s. The FAC rate was determined using the thickness change obtained from commercial room-temperature ultrasonic testing (UT).

충돌형 노즐의 분무특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Spray Characteristics of Deflector Nozzle)

  • This study describes the external spray characteristics of deflector nozzle such as the breakup procedures of liquid sheet, spray angle, discharge coefficient and bubble behaviors of spray and SMD at deflector nozzle. In order to visualize the spray behaviors shadow graphy technique were used. According to the increase of injection pressure, development of the spray passes through the dribbling, distoted jet, closed bubble due to the contraction by surface tension forces, the bubble opens into hollow tulip shape, and the curved surface straightened to form a conical sheet like as the simplex swirl atomizer. Spray cone angle was nearly 90 deg. Variations of SMD were examined in order to describe the dependency of SMD on the injection pressure and orifice diameter. The shape of deflector and oriffice diameter had an effect on the discharge coefficient.

디지털 현미경 홀로그래피 기법을 이용한 마이크로 액체 제트 유동에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Characteristics of Micro Jet Flow Using Digital Microscopic Holography)

  • In this study, the effect of injection pressure on the column diameter and droplet velocity of liquid jet with the weakly turbulent Rayleigh-like breakup mode is experimentally studied using digital microscopic holography (DMH). The injection nozzle has the diameter of $50{\mu}m$ and injection pressure is varied from 0.1 to 0.4 MPa. When the micro liquid jet is injected into still air, the double-pulsed holograms was recorded on a CCD sensor and numerically reconstructed in order to obtain well focused images. In this study, the liquid column diameter from $50{\mu}m$ orifice nozzle is shown to be changed slightly but the droplet velocity is increased proportionally as the injection pressure is increased.

DME 커먼레일 시스템을 위한 인젝터 분사 유량 개선 (Injection Flow Rate Improvement of Injectors for DME Common-rail Systems)

  • In this study, injection flow rates and material of the solenoid sealing of the injectors were improved for the development of a di-methyl Ether(DME) common-rail system. To deliver the same amount of energy provided by injection pressure of diesel $P_{inj}$ = 160 MPa, the DME injectors need to have larger diameter of nozzle hole and more No. of hole at low injection pressure of $P_{inj}$ = 40~50 MPa. The simplified nozzle flow model, which takes account of nozzle geometry and injection condition, was employed in order to design the concept of a injector nozzle such as No. of hole, diameter of hole and diameter of needle seat, etc. Injection amount and rate were tested by diesel and DME test stand. As a result, the diameter of nozzle hole were enlarged by 0.25 mm. The diameter of the orifice in the high pressure line was increased by 1.0 mm to maintain hydraulic force in the nozzle. The material of the solenoid sealing was changed to HNBR, which was strong against the corrosive. Experimental results showed that the injection amount of the DME injector drastically increased by 191.9% comparison to that of diesel at $P_{inj}$ = 40 MPa.
