Objective : This study reports the effect of Korean medicine on one case diagnosed as idiopathic glossopharyngeal neuralgia. Methods : We experienced one case with idiopathic glossopharyngeal neuralgia treated with acupuncture, herbal medicine and gargling. Associated symtoms had been estimated with change of VAS(Visual Analogue Scale), severity of dysphagia, and diet type. Result : After the treatment, symptoms were decreased and almost disappered. In this case, VAS and severity of dysphagia decreased from 10 to 1 and from severe to subsided, and diet type changed from unable to DD4(Dysphagic Diet 4) during 21 days. Conclusion : This study suggests that Korean medicine is effective on idiopathic glossopharyngeal neuralgia.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to analyze the trend of Korean medical treatments on Anal diseases and skin disorder around anal. Methods : Based on KCI, OASIS, NDSL, KISS with the keyword 'Anal', 'Hemorrhoid', 'Ani', 'Anal fistula', 'incontinence', 'anal prolapse', 'anal fissure'. published in 2000-2018.11.10., total 9 studies have been found and analyzed. Results : Among 9 studies, 15 cases were selected. Acupuncture, herb medicine, phamacopuncture, moxibustion, fumigation therapy and habit correction were used as treatment for Anal disease. All of research which selected have reported that the Korean medical treatment was effective. Conclusions : According to the results, Korean medical treatments can be effective treatment for anal diseases. Based of this result, studies which is multifocal will be needed steadily.

A female visited the Dept. of Oriental Ophthamology & Otolaryngology & Dermatology, Dong-eui University with Facial Nerve Palsy in Herpes Zoster Oticus. She had been taking ill with chronic hepatitis B and taking western medicine. We treated a patient with only Oriental Medicine.(the herbal medication and acupuncture etc). Because she was afraid of herbal medicine -induced hepatitis, went through an examination about LFT profile regularly. The symptom of Herpes Zoster Oticus was improved and there was no abnormality in LFT profile. Through this case, we thought that it is possible to treat the other disease of the patient with chronic hepatitis using herbal medication without hepatotoxic hepatitis. But for the safety of patient and doctor in several case, we need to accumulate objective data about the side effect of herbal medications inducing hepatotoxic hepatitis.

The tinnitus is a very common otorhinolaryngologic disease. But, we do not know the exact cause and the healing method of that. We have a case report of the patient who has both tinnitus during two years. He has also chest distress, chest pain, shoulder.neck pain, obesity. In Oriental Medicine, the cuases of tinnitus have diagnosed as the hepatic fire, phlegm-fire, heart fire, deficiency of the kidney, deficiency of vital energy and blood, and so on. In this study the patient classified by Sasang constitutional medicine, and the cuase of tinnitus diagnosed as cold turbid phlegm in Middle Cho, had a medical effects. And in the result, the other symptoms are reduced. So we report the healing process and result of this patient in this study.

Objectives : This report was performed to observe the effects of bloodletting therapy on the rhinitis patients. Methods : 2 patients with rhinitis were treated by bloodletting therapy. We evaluated the pre-and post-treatment symptoms by NRS(numbering rating scale) and TNSS(total nasal symptom score). Results : After treatment, the symptoms of rhinitis and NRS were decreased and TNSS was improved. Conclusions : Bloodletting therapy in nasal cavity is effective to Rinitis.

Objectives : The study designed to analyze annual, seasonal tendency of outpatients in ophthalmology & otolaryngology & dermatology clinic of Korean Medical hospital from 2012 to 2016. Methods : We investigated annual, seasonal population-social characteristics such as sex or age, departmental characteristics such as ophthalmology, otolaryngology, dermatology, many others, main diagnosis, cost characteristics of treatment period and frequency of treatment those who were received treatment as outpatients in Dunsan Korean Medical Hospital ophthalmology & otolaryngology & dermatology clinic from March 2012 to March 2016. The data was obtained from EMR chart, and statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 19.0. Results : We analyzed population-social characteristics, utilization of new patients in the year, in the season, and we obtained various results. Conclusions : In the analysis of annual, seasonal utilization patterns that outpatients offered in ophthalmology & otolaryngology & dermatology clinic of Korean Medical hospital from 2012 to 2016, the report draws 3 different conclusions.

Phototherapy have perpetual history, we can see an instance of it in Yellow Emperor's Conon of Medicine(黃帝內經) and Laser therapy is a field of Phototherapy being used frequently in the latest time. We treated patients with telangiectasia by laser therapy and experimented it's efficacy and studied the means of clinical application in Korean medicine. We report the capabilities of application of laser therapy, based on Korean medical theories by using resemblance between laser therapy with kyung-rak(經絡) control technique in the line that connects with the past.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to report the improved case of Wegener's granulomatosis with Oriental-Western Medicine Treatment. Methods : The patient was treated by herbal medicine(Manhyeongja-san, Banhabaekchulchenma-tang, Jaeumgeonbi-tang), acupuncture and moxa constantly. And she was also treated by glucocorticoids treatment and immunosuppressive therapy provided by department of Rheumatology. The otorhinolaryngologic and the ophthalmologic Western medication treatment were also supplied. The information was collected retrospectively. Results & Conclusions : Chronic otitis media of both ear and hearing loss were improved by Oriental-Western medicine treatment. Ophthalmagia was controlled as less. Dizziness and facial palsy were also disappeared. Oriental-Western medicine treatment may be effective on Wegener's granulomatosis patient when pain controling and fast improvement of symptoms are needed.

Atopic Dermatitis is chronic eczematous dermatosis which is related strongly to a family history of atopic disease and hereditary disposition. Its threshold of itching is low so that severe itching occurs and causes secondary eczema. The purpose of this study was to estimate the efficiency of oriental medical treatment and management on atopic Dermatitis. We studied 2 patients who visited Wonkwang University Kwangju Oriental Hospital Dept. of Dermatol. with atopic dermatitis from April 2004 to February 2005. We treated him with herb-medication, acupuncture, negative therapy, full spectrum visible ray therapy(by carbon arc). We used the ADSI(Atopic Dermatitis Severity Index) to assess the severity of atopic dermatitis. The grade of the severity of atopic dermatitis was lower only by the traditional chinese medical treatments and management. Considering the above result, more study is needed the factors of increasing severity of atopic dermatitis, and the clinical interchange or atopic Dermatitis between oriental medicine and western medicine.

Inflammation is localized response to foreign substance such as bacteria or in some instance to internally produced substances and has relation with immunity system. The macrophages plays a role in the development of the Iymphohaemopoietic system before and after birth, as well as in the natural and acquired immune responses of adult to immunogens, including infectious agents. NO have been suggested to play an important role in endotoxin-mediated shock and imflammation. In this study, we investigated the effect of Omisodok-eum on the production of NO. The Omisodok-eum inhibited the secretion of NO in LPS-stimulated mouse peritoneal macrophages, without affecting cell viability. The protein level of inducible nitric oxide synlhase(iNOS) in peritoneal macrophages was also decreased by Omisodok-eum. These results suggest that Omisodok-eum suppresses the endotoxin-induced inflammatory responses through inhibiting the production of NO
