  • 'confucian doctor' are typically people who study the principles of medicine based on Confusional concepts. In Korea, studying both medicine and Confucianism became a common practice since Confucianism became popular and the class of intellectuals were formed around Confucianism. This study is a research on the activity of confucian doctors in Korea. Many confucian doctors that were discovered in documents are organized according to their activity and books they wrote.

  • In this paper Author introduce a new field named Artificial Life and its main directions of research. That is the research of evolutionary robot and artificial brain. Then author explored the advanced scientific thought hidden in them. Furthermore, the author tries intuitively to show a new type of control that is heuristically raised from artificial life research. It could be named as evolutionary control. This type of control is more like human body´s structure, and it is self-organized.

  • This paper describes an artificial intelligence approach to machine diagnosis. Firstly, It considers how the knowledge could be organized and represented. Secondly, it considers which inference strategy could be chosen for contingent situations for the purpose of rationality, efficiency and user-friendliness. Finally, the prototype based on the suggested model is introduced briefly.

  • In this study, smart environmental management, which is an essential element for building a sustainable city, was studied. Incheon area in the metropolitan area was selected as a research subject, the recent atmospheric environment was reviewed comprehensively, and the main air quality policies of Incheon city were summarized. The smart environment management application cases were organized and analyzed to summarize the results. Based on this study, smart environment management plans for the creation of a smart city in an urban area were suggested.

  • Currently, various types of transarterial treatments are performed for hepatocellular carcinoma from the early to advanced stages. Its indications and efficacy have been widely investigated. However, procedure-related complications have not been updated in the literature, although new types of transarterial treatments, such as drug-eluting bead transarterial chemoembolization and transarterial radioembolization, are common in daily practice. Herein, a comprehensive literature review was carried out, and complications were organized according to the organs affected and treatment modalities.

  • In this paper, we propose a self-organized frequency allocation scheme for femto-cell deployment to avoid intercell interference, thereby reducing cell-registration failure. The proposed scheme follows two steps which if necessary manipulate frequency-band reallocation of existing femto-cells to accomodate newly incoming femto-cells. In the first step named "initial frequency allocation", each femto-cell collects neighboring femto-cells' frequency usage state by listening the broadcasting channels, and then selects one of interference-free frequency-bands. If no inference-free band is available, the second step named "frequency adjustment" starts, where frequency-band reallocation is properly performed from the aspect of overall performance improvement. Numerical results shows that the proposed scheme outperforms the best SINR scheme, which has been practically applied to femto-cell deployment, in terms of cell-registration failure probability and system overhead.

  • Recently student portfolio is widely used as an evaluation method for self-directed performance in engineering education of the university. Especially, as many of the Innovation Centers for Engineering Education and ABEEK held student portfolio competitions, a lot of students in engineering college participate in student portfolio includes the contents and careers of the entire process of university. However, except for courses related to capstone design, there are few regular courses applied to Learning Portfolio in engineering education. Through using Learning Portfolio in courses, students take opportunities of organized collection of learning contents and critical reflection. Under these background study, the regular course in engineering education is may be appropriate for using Learing Portfolio in lecture. In this paper, we present the case study for the Data Structure course opened in the first semester of 2013 which is organized as a Learning Portfolio. According to the results of applying Learning Portfolio to the regular course, it turns out that learners can develope self-directed learning ability in exploring the learning process, and manage a learning process systematically through self-reflection in learning process.

  • Objective : Despite widespread use of flow diverters (FDs) to treat aneurysms, the exact healing mechanism associated with FDs remains poorly understood. We aim to describe the healing process of aneurysms treated using FDs by demonstrating the histopathologic progression in a canine aneurysm model. Methods : Twenty-one side wall aneurysms were created in common carotid artery of eight dogs and treated with two different FDs. Angiographic follow-ups were done immediately after placement of the device, 4 weeks and 12 weeks. At last follow-up, the aneurysm and the device-implanted parent artery were harvested. Results : Histopathologic findings of aneurysms at 4 weeks follow-up showed intra-aneurysm thrombus formation in laminating fashion, and neointimal thickening at the mid-segment of aneurysm. However, there are inhomogenous findings in aneurysms treated with the same type of FD showing same angiographic outcomes. At 12 weeks, aneurysms of complete and near-complete occlusion revealed markedly shrunken aneurysm filled with organized connective tissues with thin neointima. Aneurysms of incomplete occlusion at 12 weeks showed small amount of organized thrombus around fringe neck and large empty space with thick neointmal formation. Neointimal thickness and diameter stenosis was not significantly different between the groups of FD specification and follow-up period. Conclusion : Intra-aneurysmal thrombus formation and organization seem to be an important factor for the complete occlusion of aneurysms treated using the FD. Neointimal formation could occur along the struts of the FD independently of intra-aneurysmal thrombus formation. However, neointimal formation could not solely lead to complete aneurysm healing.

  • Recently, proving insurance fraud has become increasingly difficult because it occurs intentionally and secretly via organized and intelligent conspiracy by specialists such as medical personnel, maintenance companies, insurance planners, and insurance subscribers. In the case of car accidents, it is difficult to prove intentions; in particular, an insurance company with no investigation rights has practical limitations in proving the suspicions. This paper aims reveal that the detection of organized and conspired insurance fraud, which had previously been difficult, could be dramatically improved through conspiring insurance fraud detection modeling using social network analysis and visualization of the relation between suspected group entities and by seeking developmental research possibilities of data analysis techniques.
