  • Electronic brainstorming (EBS) to improve the process and outcomes of group decision making is an artifact of Information Systems legacy. Despite three decades of research with EBS in an effort to become a key resource of organizational performance, its performance when compared to that of nominal is inconclusive because of the recent debate over its usefulness in terms of productivity. Subsequent researchers have directed our attention to the re-examination of cognitive stimulation, which is considered the major benefit in computer-based idea generation, to explain the performance singularity in computer-based groups. While both cognitive and motivational factors that moderate and mediate the group-interaction process remain unexplored, individual differences that are tightly linked to creative behavior have been largely ignored to account for the discrepancy in performance. Since simulations have been widely used in situations where an outcome does not meet the assumptions, the notion of a group simulator and detailed simulation mechanisms are introduced to examine the potential effects of individual differences on the performance of computer-based idea generation groups. In addition, two prior studies that empirically explored cognitive mechanisms with the group simulator are showcased along with six propositions to initiate future research.

  • 본 연구에서는 제조업이라는 특수성 때문에 상대적으로 정보화가 늦게 도입된 기계산업분야에 있어서 정보화 특히, ERP를 도입하여 생산성 및 조직문화가 변화된 것을 조사 및 분석하였다. 설문조사 및 현장실태조사를 통해 해당 기업들은 ERP 등의 정보서비스의 이용률과 의존도가 상당히 높게 나타났지만, 초기 도입 및 유지비용 문제와 잦은 이직률에 따른 지속적인 유지보수 및 교육지원 등이 문제로 나타났다.

  • An office is understood as a system consisted of three subsystem : office work, technology and organization. In the age of information, an office is a complicated device in an organization to create, process, modify and deliver various information for organizational goals. The purpose of this study is to provide design guidelines on office workstations based on the analysis of employees' preference and work-style responding to current changes of an organization and work process. Through a literature survey, the study briefly reviewed characteristics of interior design to find changing factors and directions of office interior. Work characteristics in an office are analyzed based on information, activity and communication characteristics while office environment is analyzed based on physical and technological factors. Finally, questionnaire items are derived from a critical comparison between work characteristics and workstation organization(furniture etc) factor. workplace strategies by preference are suggested to increase office productivity, employee satisfaction and to reduce space costs.

  • The Construction Industry Institute (CII) developed the Project Definition Rating Index (PDRI), as a part of their Front End Planning best practices, which helps project managers assess and measure project scope definition risk elements. U.S. Green Building Council are seeing the benefits of sustainable building and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification by positively impacting life cycle costs, building marketability, and organizational productivity. However, there have been no efforts to integrate these two planning tools in construction industry. By applying a supplemental tool which combines the PDRI with the LEED rating system, construction industry can develop and implement a tailored instrument that leads to total project success in sustainability. The objective of this research is to assemble a new front end planning mechanism for green buildings by incorporating the current PDRI and LEED systems.

  • To compete with large construction companies whose dominance in market share is deepening recently, the needs for improving field production system of mid-size construction companies have increased rapidly. The development of an adequate model that focuses on the organizational size and work process of the mid-size construction companies are needed to increase productivity through the informatization in the construction industry[0]. The authors of this study used case studies on the problems of the mid-size construction companies in procuring work and presented a method to solve such problems so that the managers in head office of those mid-size construction companies can effecitively deal with multiple sites[0].

  • 1990년대 이후 많은 기업들은 ERP를 도입하여 조직의 업무 전반을 통합시키고 실시간으로 업무를 처리함으로써 경쟁력을 높이고 경영성과를 크게 개선하고자 하고 있다. 그러나 ERP 시스템을 도입하면 기존의 업무 수행절차와 방법 대신 ERP 패키지가 제공하는 표준 업무 프로세스와 시스템 기능을 적용함으로써 기업 경영의 관리방법을 획기적으로 바꾸어야 한다. 조직의 ERP 도입이란 이처럼 기존의 업무 수행 절차와 방법 대신 ERP 패키지가 제공하는 프로세스와 기능을 기업 내 업무기능에 적용하여야 한다는 측면에서 매우 혁신적인 특징을 가지고 있으며, 조직 변화를 필수적으로 수반하게 된다. 따라서 효과적인 ERP 구현을 위해서는 기업이 처한 경영환경과 ERP 도입 목적에 적합한 구축 방법을 선택하고 변화관리 이행 프로그램을 적용하는 것이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 ERP를 구축하는데 어떠한 조직적 환경 요인이 영향을 미치고, ERP 구축 방법에 따라 변화관리의 특성이 어떻게 달라지며, 변화관리가 ERP성과에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 파악하기 위한 프레임워크를 제시한 후, 이를 근간으로 점진적, 혹은 혁신적인 구축방법을 통하여 ERP를 구축한 기업들의 환경적 특성과 도입 프로세스, ERP구축 방법에 따른 변화관리 특성 및 ERP성과를 살펴보았다. 연구결과, ERP구축방법은 ERP 구축 환경에 따라 차이를 보였으며, ERP 구축방법에 따라 변화관리 특성이 달라져야 한다는 사실을 발견하였다. 변화관리 방법 중에서도 최고 경영자의 리더십과 현업 직원의 적극적인 참여 및 전사적인 커뮤니케이션은 ERP 구축방법과 관계 없이 중요한 핵심 요인으로 나타났다. 그리고 ERP 구축과정에 있어 변화관리 활동은 ERP 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 사실도 파악하였다. 본 연구로 얻은 시사점은 ERP를 구현하고자 하는 많은 국내 기업들이 자사의 환경에 적합한 ERP 구축 방법을 선정하고 적합한 변화관리 방법을 전개하여 보다 성공적인 ERP 구축 성과를 낼 수 있도록 하는데 가이드라인을 제공해 줄 것으로 기대한다.

경찰공무원의 연가 사용 실태 및 권장방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Police Use of Annul Leaves and Recommendations for Leaves)

  • 이 연구에서는 경찰공무원의 연가 사용 실태를 실증적으로 살펴보았다. 한국경찰은 많은 초과노동에 시달리고 있는 반면, 장시간의 노동으로부터 건강을 보호 회복하고 노동력 재생산 유지와 문화생활 확보 등을 위한 휴가 사용에는 소극적인 편이다. 조사 결과, 대다수의 경찰공무원은 주어진 법정 연가 일수를 절반도 사용하고 있지 않았다. 남자보다는 여자경찰관이, 미혼보다는 기혼경찰관의 연가 사용 일수가 상대적으로 많았으며, 근무환경적 특성별로는 교대 근무자가 비교대 근무를 하는 경찰공무원에 비해 연가 사용 일수가 적은 것으로 나타났다. 소극적인 연가 사용의 원인은 경찰의 업무 과중, 일 중심의 삶, 가정보다는 직장을 우선하는 조직문화 등 다양한 이유들이 결부된 결과일 것이다. 따라서 현실적인 연가 사용이 이루어지기 위해서는 경찰공무원의 업무 과중을 해결해 줄 수 있는 인력충원과 그로 인한 적정한 업무배분이 선행되어져야 할 것이다. 또한 직장과 가정에서의 균형을 중시하는 관리자의 인식과 조직문화의 확산이 시급해 보인다.

MIS 평가 유형과 MIS 성과 간의 상황적 관계에 관한 연구 (Contingent Analysis of the Relationship between Evaluation type and MIS Performance)

  • The most critical problem of MIS evaluation is the lack of the systematic framework to cover various factors and viewpoints. To solve this problem, this study takes the multi-level and contingent approach to performance evaluation, composed of three levels: evaluating the contribution of MIS to an organization [strategy level]; evaluating the activities of MIS department or MIS function as an organizational sub-function through the overall MIS lifecycle [function level]; and evaluating the quality or productivity of the application systems as MIS outputs [system level]. Ideal MIS evaluation should include all three levels of the hierarchy with balanced importance. However, MIS evaluationcanbedividedintothreetypes,suchasstrategy-oriented, function-oriented and system-oriented evaluation, depending on the focus and emphasis of evaluation. The usage pattern of each evaluation type is analyzed according to contingent variables of MIS evaluation such as MIS maturity, information intensity and firm size, and top management's intent. It is also found that the firms of higher MIS maturity and top management's intent use the strategy-oriented evaluation type, and the firms with strategy-oriented evaluation type show a higher MIS performance. Further, MIS maturity and top management's intent show contingent effects between evaluation type and MIS performance. Some managerial implications can be drawn based on the results of the study. First, strategy-oriented evaluation of MIS is more important as many firms more often use information technology as a strategic weapon. Second, MIS performance varies with evaluation type. Therefore, the design of MIS evaluation framework should be done carefully in the strategic and managerial contexts. Third, firms are recommend to use a different evaluation type according to organizational characteristics such as MIS maturity and information intensity.

직무교육훈련 평가수준들간의 관계 (The Relationships between the Levels of Evaluation of the Training & Development for Job skills)

  • The propose of this study was to analyze the relationships among the levels of training & development evaluation (reaction, learning, transfer). The study has been conducted on 730 trainees who attended in the basic accounting program in L training and development institution through three incidents of tracked research such as reaction survey right after the conclusion of training, learning evaluation through test, and an evaluation of the transferability after 3 months of training. Questionnaires and test papers for analyses were used after their reliability, validity, difficulty, and discrimination have been verified on a pre-test. The research has been conducted for six months from 4 March 1996 to the end of August 1996, and data have been collected through direct research and survey through mail. The collected data have been worked on at SAS program for Windows with a statistical significance level of 5%. Statistical method that had been used was Pearson's correlation coefficient. The result and conclusion acquired from this study were as follows: Between reaction and learning, learning and transfer of training, only a weak positive correlation exists and explanation or prediction variance showing hierarchical relationship was quite weak with 1%. Thus, this research not only does not strongly support Kirkpatrick(1976)'s hierarchical model of $reaction{\rightarrow}learning{\rightarrow}transfer$, but also indicates that the separate measurement on each levels of training evaluation needs to be done. On the other hand, there was a relatively strong positive correlation between reaction and transfer of training. Based on the result, the conclusion, and the restriction perceived through this study, the following suggestions were made. 1. There is a need to empirically analyze and verify the hierarchy of all levels of training evaluation including the evaluation of the fourth level (result) such as organizational productivity, organizational satisfaction, and separation rate. 2. A great deal of efforts will be needed to systematically analyze what the relationships are among the methods measuring the level of evaluation of the training and development, and to apply this result to the training field.

과학기술 정보유통을 위한 업무 프로세스 표준화 (Business Process Standardization of Information Flow for Science & Technology)

  • 최근에 많은 정부출연 연구기관과 정보유통서비스 기관들이 ISO 9001 품질경영시스템을 도입하여 그들 조직의 업무 수행도를 향상시키는데 대한 관심이 두드러지게 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 하지만 도입시에 조직의 특성 및 현황을 제대로 반영하지 않아서 시스템의 요구사항과 프로세스가 지향하는 목표화의 현실적 차이 때문에 ISO 9001 품질경영시스템 운영에 따른 효과를 제대로 누리지 못하고 있다. 이에 한국과학기술정보연구원(KISTI)은 프로세스 표준화를 통한 생산성 증대 및 조직의 경쟁력 증가를 위해 ISO 9001 시스템의 요구사항을 반영하기 위한 프로세스 분석을 통하여 표준시스템 지향적 프로세스를 도출하였다. 그 결과, KISTI는 2003년 11월 11일에 ISO 9001:2000 인증을 받았고, 품질경영 업무를 수행함으로서, 고객 만족도 증가, 업무의 효율성 증대 및 업무처리 시간 단축 등의 효과를 얻을 수 있었다.
