Isotropic pitch-based carbon fiber has been activated by steam diluted in nitrogen in order to characterize the microporosity. Especially, 40 wt% burn-off ACFs were prepared from different conditions to compare the pore structure and size. The ACFs were thinly sliced to investigate the inside pores by TEM and image analyzer. As expected, the adsorption characteristics of these ACFs were quite different from one another because of different pore structure and size. Most pores are not slit-shaped but rather round. Small round micropores become broad and irregular as increasing the activation time and temperature.

Cracks of concrete structure must be analyzed and estimated synthetically in order to have a maintenance and to insure the safety and the durability of structure. Concrete cracks have to be surveyed with respect to depth, width, shape and direction etc, but crack depth among these items is not measured easily. Occasionally, it needs to measure the crack depth of concrete structure for the purpose of evaulating the safe capacity and the necessity of repair. Therefore, this research is performed to verify the applicability and the accuracy of Ultra-sonic Pulse Velocity Technique(Tester), in non-destructive testing methods of concrete crack depth.

In this study, the equivalent plate model is developed using a finite element method(FEM) based on the first order shear deformation theory(FSDT). The substructure synthesis method is used to consider the control surface. For the verification of the equivalent model, the results of free vibration analysis are compared with the ones of 3D wing structure modeled by using the MSC/NASTRAN.

A robust adaptive control method for a stable nonminimum phase SISO system with unmodelled dynamics is proposed. The robust parameter estimation method of the system with bounded output noise and unmodelled dynamics is employed and a parallel structure is proposed to improve the robustness of adaptive control system. The local stability of the proposed system is shown. Computer simulations are done in order to compare the performance of the proposed structure with the basic structure on various circumstance.

This paper develops multiple objective manpower planning model in order to design and adjust manpower structure and flow when advance rate for officer's native is considered. The state transition in manpower structure is analyzed using Markov chains. Multiple objectives in the model are security of advance rate, satisfaction of rank's number of personnel, and stability of the number of recruit personnel for officer's native. Trade - off of these objectives is made to evaluate manpower structure and flow. Solutions of this model are obtained by LINGO package.

In this paper, an analytical and experimental study was performed in order to determine the effects of interaction between vehicle and structure. Results presented in the paper show that analytical method including moving load effect can investigate the trend of structural response due to dynamic interaction between vehicle and structure. The wheel tracking machine fitted with 2-axle test vehicle can demonstrate more accurate dynamic interaction between vehicle and structure than the wheel tracking machine fitted without 2-axle test vehicle.

In this study, we studied the structure of the western East Sea ecosystem and ecotrophic relationships among species inhabited at the East Sea using Ecopath (Christensen and Pauly, 1992) program. And in order to examine how the Climatic Regime Shift (CRS) affected to the western East Sea ecosystem, we analyzed the structure of the western East Sea ecosystem dividing before and after 1976/1977 CRS. The strategy of regional industrial specialization is empirically evaluated by examining the relationship between regional industrial structures and economic performances. The regional industrial structure is measured by three industrial diversity indices such as ogive approach, entropy maximizing approach, and economic growth and employment instability in 12 regions is analyzed. According to the time series analysis, we found that the region with more diversified industrial structure experiences more stable in employment. Otherwise, the growth rate of the region with more simplified industrial structure is higher. Therefore, the strategy of industrial specialization is implemented in order to pursuit a rapid economic growth in the short run.

The purpose of this study is to Propose data models for central database in integrated system for structural design building. In order to efficiently express data related to structure, I analyzed the structure design process and classified data considering design step. 1 used an object-oriented modeling methodology for logical data model and relational modeling for physical data model. Based on this model, we will develop an integration system with several applications for structure design. Each application will communicate through the central database.

This study analyzes various factors affecting a firm's investments, focusing on both a firm's ownership structure and CEO's incentives. While previous empirical works focus on various financial data in order to test the Schumpeterian Hypotheses, this paper is using various ownership structure data as well as financial data. Empirical results show that the greater a firm's CEO has the company's own stock, the less he spends in R&D investments. The main empirical results of this study is in line with past empirical studies on various markets outside of Korea.
