파손평가선도(FAD)와 FORM을 이용한 매설배관의 건전성 평가 (The Reliability Estimation of Buried Pipeline Using the FAD and FORM)

  • In this paper, the methodology for the reliability estimation of buried pipeline with longitudinal gouges and dent is presented and the limit state of buried pipeline is formulated by failure assessment diagram(FAD). The reliability of buried pipeline with defects has been estimated by using a theory of failure probability. The failure probability is calculated by using the FORM(first order reliability method) and Monte Carlo simulation. The results out of two procedures have been compared each other. It is found that the FORM and Monte Carlo simulation give similar results for varying boundary conditions and various random variables. Furthermore, it is also recognized that the failure probability increases with increasing of dent depth, gouge depth, gouge length, operating pressure, pipe outside radius and decreasing the wall thickness. And it is found that the analysis by using the failure assessment diagram gives highly conservative results than those by using the theory of failure probability.

A GENERAL FORM OF MULTI-STEP ITERATIVE METHODS FOR NONLINEAR EQUATIONS

  • Recently, Yun [8] proposed a new three-step iterative method with the fourth-order convergence for solving nonlinear equations. By using his ideas, we develop a general form of multi-step iterative methods with higher order convergence for solving nonlinear equations, and then we study convergence analysis of the multi-step iterative methods. Lastly, some numerical experiments are given to illustrate the performance of the multi-step iterative methods.

  • This paper is intended to verify the efficiency of anti-freeze agent and insulating form by analyzing the temperature history and the property of strength-increase about the concrete that is placed in the insulating form and normal form, using new type anti-freeze agent in batcher plant According to the results about the temperature history, while the lowest temperature shows 3$^{\circ}C$ in case of normal concrete + euroform, 4$^{\circ}C$ in case of normal concrete + insulating form, it shows 6$^{\circ}C$ in anti-freeze agent + the insulating form, so the effect is most favorable. The compressive strength with mixing anti-freeze agent or not, shows high in order of standard curing, structure-managing and open air-placed specimen and the concrete mixing anti-freeze agent shows the highest compressive strength-increase.

CTOC에서 자바 바이트코드를 위한 정적 단일 배정 형태 (Static Single Assignment Form for Java Bytecodes in CTOC)

  • 자바 바이트코드는 많은 장점을 갖지만 수행 속도가 느리고 분석이 어렵다는 단점을 갖는다. 이를 극복하기 위해 바이트코드에 대한 분석과 최적화가 수행되어야 한다. 최적화된 코드를 위해 CTOC를 구현하였다. 바이트코드에 대해 분석과 최적화를 수행하기 위해서는 우선 CFG를 생성해야 한다. 바이트코드의 특성 때문에 기존의 제어 흐름 분석 기술을 바이트코드에 적합하게 확장해야 한다. 또한 정적으로 분석하기 위해 CFG를 SSA Form으로 변환한다. SSA Form으로 변환하기 위해서는 지배 관계, 지배자 트리, 직접 지배자, $\phi$-함수, 재명명, 지배자 경계 등 많은 정보에 대한 계산을 수행한다. 본 논문은 기존의 CFG로부터 SSA Form으로 변환을 위해 알고리즘과 변환 과정을 기술한다. SSA Form이 적용된 그래프는 추후에 타입 추론과 최적화를 위해 사용된다.

CTOC에서 죽은 코드 제거 구현 (Implementation of Dead Code Elimination in CTOC)

  • 자바 바이트코드가 많은 장점을 갖지만, 수행 속도가 느리고 분석하기 어렵다는 단점이 존재한다. 따라서 자바 클래스 파일이 네트워크와 같은 실행 환경에서 효과적으로 실행되기 위해서는 최적화된 코드로 변환이 요구된다. 최적화된 코드로 변환하기 위해 CTOC를 구현하였다. 정적으로 값과 타입을 결정하기 위해 CTOC는 변수를 배정에 따라 분리하는 SSA Form을 사용하였다. 또한 문장의 표현을 위해 트리 구조를 사용하였다. 하지만 SSA Form 변환 과정에서 $\phi$-함수의 삽입에 의해 오히려 노드의 수가 증가하게 되었다. 본 논문은 SSA Form에서 더욱 최적화된 코드를 얻기 위해 죽은 코드를 제거하는 과정을 보인다. 각 노드에 대해 새로운 live 필드를 추가하고 트리 구조에서 죽은 코드 제거 과정을 수행한다. 실험 결과를 통해 죽은 코드 제거 후 상당한 노드의 수가 줄어든 것을 확인할 수 있다.

비선형파를 고려한 비대선의 선수선형설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Bow Hull Form Design of Full Ship Considering the Nonlinear Waves)

  • This paper introduces a new hull form design method for the bow of a full ship, by actively applying the relation between the fore-body hull form and its wave resistance characteristics. For the hull form design, the Series 60($C_B=0.8$) hull is chosen as the parent ship, and Kracht's charts are used to determine the parameters of the bulbous bow in the early stages of hull form design. Several hull forms have been tested in order to obtain enough hull form variations with various bow shapes and design parameters in the search of the best design. In order to investigate the resistance characteristics of the designed hull forms, numerical simulations with corresponding model tests have been rigorously performed. For the numerical simulations, the Marker-density method is employed to track the nonlinear phenomena of the free surface(program IUBW). Model tests have also been performed to achieve an improved research performance using the designed hulls. Both numerical and experimental results show that the wave resistance of the hull forms can be effectively diminished if the bows are designed using the method introduced in this research. It is also expected that this research can facilitate better productivity in hull form design, especially at the preliminary design stage of a full ship type vessel.

  • Generally, component and FR-4 board are connected by solder joint. Because material properties of components and FR-4 board are different, component and FR-4 board show different coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) and thus strains in component and board are different when they are heated. That is, the differences in CTE of component and FR-4 board cause the dissimilarity in shear strain and BGA solder joint s failure. The first order Taylor series expansion of the limit state function incorporating with thermal fatigue models is used in order to estimate the failure probability of solder joints under heated condition. A model based on plastic-strain rate such as the Coffin-Manson Fatigue Model is utilized in this study. The effects of random variables such as frequency, maximum temperature, and temperature variations on the failure probability of the BGA solder joint are systematically investigated by using a failure probability model with the first order reliability method(FORM).

Bending analysis of functionally graded plates using new eight-unknown higher order shear deformation theory

  • In this paper a new eight-unknown higher order shear deformation theory is proposed for functionally graded (FG) material plates. The theory based on full twelve-unknown higher order shear deformation theory, simultaneously satisfy zeros transverse stresses at top and bottom surface of FG plates. Equations of motion are derived from principle of virtual displacement. Exact closed-form solutions are obtained for simply supported rectangular FG plates under uniform loading. The accuracy of present numerical results has been verified by comparing it with generalized shear deformation theory. The effect of power law index of functionally graded material, side-to-thickness ratio, and aspect ratio on static behavior of FG plates is investigated.

IMPROVING THE ORDER AND RATES OF CONVERGENCE FOR THE SUPER-HALLEY METHOD IN BANACH SPACES

  • In this study we are concerned with the problem of ap-proximating a locally unique solution of an equation on a Banach space. A semilocal convergence theorem is given for the Super-Halley method in Banach spaces. Earlier results have shown that the order of convergence is four for a certain class of operators [4] [5] [8] These results were not given in affine invariant form and made use of a real quadratic majorizing polynomial. Here we provide our re-sults in affine invariant form showing that the order of convergence is at least four. In cases that it is exactly four the rate of convergence is improved. We achieve these results by using a cubic majorizing polynomial. Some numerical examples are given to show that our error bounds are better than earlier ones.

Time-discontinuous Galerkin quadrature element methods for structural dynamics

  • Three time-discontinuous Galerkin quadrature element methods (TDGQEMs) are developed for structural dynamic problems. The weak-form time-discontinuous Galerkin (TDG) statements, which are capable of capturing possible displacement and/or velocity discontinuities, are employed to formulate the three types of quadrature elements, i.e., single-field, single-field/least-squares and two-field. Gauss-Lobatto quadrature rule and the differential quadrature analog are used to turn the weak-form TDG statements into a system of algebraic equations. The stability, accuracy and numerical dissipation and dispersion properties of the formulated elements are examined. It is found that all the elements are unconditionally stable, the order of accuracy is equal to two times the element order minus one or two times the element order, and the high-order elements possess desired high numerical dissipation in the high-frequency domain and low numerical dissipation and dispersion in the low-frequency domain. Three fundamental numerical examples are investigated to demonstrate the effectiveness and high accuracy of the elements, as compared with the commonly used time integration schemes.
