생장억제제 관주처리가 'Angel's Trumpet'의 생육에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Drenching Treatment of Growth Retardants on Growth in Datura suaveolens 'Orange Star')

  • 생장억제제 관주처리가 'Angel's Trumpet' 생육에 미치는 영향을 보고자 pacloblltrazol, ethephon, uniconazole 및 daminozide를 처리한 결과, ethephon을 제외하고는 생장억제제의 농도가 높아질수록 초장이 단축되었다. 특히 생장억제제 중 uniconazole 처리시 초장과 초폭이 크게 단축되었으며 엽폭과 엽장이 작아졌고 꽃수가 증가하는 경향이었으며 꽃크기 역시 단축되는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 또한 개회소요일수가 단축되었으며 개회횟수가 크게 증가되는 결과를 볼 수 있었다, 그러나 ethephon은 반대의 경향을 보였으며, 초장과 초폭이 커졌으며 개화일수의 증가로 개회횟수가 적어짐을 볼 수 있었다. 전체적으로 볼 때 생장억제제 관주처리에 의한 'Angel's Trumpet' 왜화의 정도는 uniconazole > daminozide > paclobutrazol순으로 나타났다.

Comparison Analysis of Antioxidant Effects from Rutaceae Fruits

  • 본 연구에서는 운향과 식물 과실류의 식품 및 화장품에서 항산화 소재 가능성을 확인하기 위하여 6종(유자, 자몽, 레몬, 밀감, 오렌지, 탱자)을 전과와 과피로 나누어 건조 처리한 후 에탄올로 추출하여 전자공여능과 ABTS 라디탈 소거능을 측정하여 항산화 활성 효과를 비교 분석하였다. 농도 10,000 ㎍/mL에서 항산화 효과를 비교 분석한 결과, 전자공여능은 레몬의 건조 과피 추출물(88.15%)과 유자의 건조 전과 추출물(80.44%)이 높았으며, ABTS 라디칼 소거능은 레몬의 과피(94.85%)와 건조 과피(92.83%)에 높게 나타났다. 결론적으로, 6종의 운향과 과실류 중에서 레몬이 가장 높은 항산화 효과를 나타내었으며, 특히 건조된 과피 추출물에서 유의적인 효과가 있는 것으로 확인됨에 따라 식품 및 화장품에서 천연 항산화 소재로서의 활용 가능성이 있음을 확인하였다.

자외선과 광 촉매제를 이용한 감귤껍질 농약제거공정의 최적화 (Optimum Processing Conditions for Pesticides Removal in Mandarine Orange Peel by Ultraviolet Rays and Photocatalytic Materials)

  • UV-C와 -B type의 lamp를 이용한 혼합 자외선(UV)조사의 조사시간, 조사온도 및 광 촉매제인 $H_2O_2$의 분사농도변화를 이용하여 감귤껍질에 부착되어있는 농약을 제거하기 위한 공정의 최적화를 이루고자 하였다. Chloropyrifos에 대한 독립변수들의 영향력은 조사온도가 가장 컸으며 그 다음 조사시간, $H_2O_2$ 분사농도 순 이었다. Methidathion은 조사시간이 가장 컸으며 조사온도, $H_2O_2$ 분사농도 순으로 나타났다. EPN은 조사온도와 조사시간이 비슷하게 나타났고 $H_2O_2$ 분사농도가 가장 작았다. UV감귤껍질의 농약 잔존량이 가장 작게 나타난 처리조건으로 chloropyrifos와 EPN에 대한 최적조건으로는 조사시간 60분, 조사온도 $45^{\circ}C$, $H_2O_2$ 분사농도 1000 ppm으로 나타났다. 반면에 methidathion의 경우에는 최적조건으로는 조사시간 60분, 조사온도 $40^{\circ}C$, $H_2O_2$ 분사농도 1000 ppm으로 나타났다. 최적공정조건에서 chloropyrifos, methidathion 및 EPN의 잔존 량은 조사 전의 각각 46, 49 및 28% 수준이었다.

  • In this study, the dyeing properties of supercritical fluid dyed nylon fabrics were investigated which use two types of dyes for dyeing nylon. For other dyeing conditions were referred to related literature, and dyeing was performed with different dyeing concentrations. Dyeability was confirmed through measurement of washing fastness and color coordinate, and a calibration curve of each dye was drawn up and the absorbance of the residual dye was measured to confirm the amount of residual dye and the dye exhaustion rate at the corresponding concentration. As a result of color difference measurement, the color intensity increased as the concentration increased, but the increase was insignificant at high concentration. This tendency was more obvious in C.I. Disperse Orange 155 than in C.I. Disperse Yellow 42. The dye absorption rate also decreases as the concentration increases, but at 0.85% o.w.f concentration, C.I. Disperse Yellow 42 was 97.29% and C.I. Disperse Orange 155 was 93.77%. For both dyes, the wash fastness dropped by 0.5 to 1 class from the sample that was dyed at a concentration of 0.5% o.w.f in the wash fastness test.

MECC법과 Ion-Pairing 크로마토그래피법을 이용한 염료성분의 분석 (Analysis of dye components using MECC and ion-pairing chromatography)

  • Ion-Paring을 이용한 고성능 액체 크로마토그래피법과 계면활성제를 완충용액에 섞어서 사용하는 미셀 모세관 전기영동법(micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography, MECC)을 이용하여 아조염료의 합성성분이면서 동시에 독성을 나타내는 분해물인 H-acid, J-acid, ${\gamma}$-acid, orthanilic acid, sulfanilic acid 그리고 2-naphthylamine-1,5-disulfonic acid 등의 디아조 성분에 대하여 분석을 수행하였다. 같은 방법으로 Acid Orange 7, Acid Orange 5, Acid Blue 92 등의 산성염료와 Direct Red 80 등의 직접염료와 같은 반응성 염료 및 Calcion에 대한 분리를 시도한 결과 모든 염료에 대한 완전한 분리를 얻었으며, 특히 각 염료의 환원용액을 H-acid, J-acid, ${\gamma}$-acid, orthanilic acid, sulfanilic acid 혹은 2-naphthylamine-1,5-disulfonic acid 등의 표준물질과 비교 분석한 결과 사용한 각 염료의 디아조 혹은 커플링 성분을 완벽하게 분석할 수 있음을 알 수 있었고, 따라서 Ion-Pair 크로마토그래피법과 모세관 전기영동법은 미지의 염료에 대한 성분확인 및 디아조 혹은 커플링 성분분석에 응용할 수 있음을 보였다.

Characteristics of 'Hongrou Taoye', a Grafted Chimera in Sweet Orange and Satsuma Mandarin

  • The synthesis of chimeras is a breeding approach for horticultural crops. In our breeding program, a new diploid citrus chimera, named 'Hongrou Taoye' (Citrus sinensis [L.] Osbeck + Citrus unshiu Marc.), was found arising at the junction where a 'Taoye' sweet orange (C. sinensis) scion was grafted onto Satsuma mandarin (C. unshiu). As an artificial chimera, its fruit traits derived from the L1 cell layer, with juice color and carotenoid complement, in which ${\beta}$-cryptoxanthin accumulated predominantly, similar to those of Satsuma mandarin. By contrast, traits originating from the L2/L3 cell layer, including pollen, seed, and rind aroma characteristics, were the same as those of 'Taoye' sweet orange (the scion). SSR and cpSSR analyses showed that both nuclear and chloroplast genomes of the chimera were a combination of both donor parents. 'Hongrou Taoye' thus combined the valuable traits of both donor plants, and therefore has good potential in citrus fresh market.

감귤 품종별 이화학적 성분 비교 (Comparison of physico-chemical components on citrus varieties)

  • Physico-chemical components which are closely related to processed products were investigated on 10 varieties of Cheju citrus fruits. Juice ratio of Hungjin was the highest, 49.2%, while Sankyool was the lowest, 4.2%, which showed great differences among varieties. Peel ratio of Dangyooja was the highest, 46.1%, while both Navel orange and Hungjin were relatively low. Soluble solid($^{\circ}$Brix) was relatively high In Sankyool, Meiwa Kumquat, Sambokam and Iyo. Acid content was the highest, 4.86% in sudachi and relatively high in Sankyool, Natsudaidai and Dangyooja. The $^{\circ}$Brix to acid content ratio was 13.9 in Meiwa Kumquat and more than 10 in Navel orange and Hungjin. Total sugar contents of Juice were 2.78∼10.94%, while reduced sugar contents were 1.63∼6.38% which showed higher in Meiwa Kumquat, Iyo and Navel Orange. Hesperidin and naringin, the sources of biiter taste and cloudness were low in Hungjin and Iyo. Soluble solid($^{\circ}$Brix) of citrus juice showed highest statistical relationship(r=0.907) with total sugar, and was highly significant at 1% level.

  • This study was done as a pilot study to develop a color test measuring children's dental anxiety. The subjects of study were 511 preschool children aged from 3 to 6. Caries experience was examined. Children's drawings of the dentist were collected and analyzed by the method of human figure drawing test modified by Sonnenberg and Venham. Colors of high dental anxiety level were black, brown, purple, red, yellow, pink, green, orange, blue, gray, yellow ochre, and white in that order. Colors of high frequency of use were yellow ochre, green, blue, red, orange, pink, black & purple, yellow, brown, gray, and white in that order. As the age increased, white & gray, yellow ochre, and blue increased and black, purple, and pink decreased. Boys liked green and blue, and girls liked orange and yellow. Filled teeth rate was highest in yellow ochre group and very low in black group. Children who had an educational dental visit before the test used green color more than the rest of children.

Biochemical and Antioxidant Activity of Yogurt Supplemented with Paprika Juice of Different Colors

  • Paprika is known to contain polyphenolic compounds that have good antioxidant properties. This study was conducted to investigate the benefits of adding paprika juice of different colors to yogurt and to determine how paprika affects the quality characteristics of yogurt. Stirred yogurt samples supplemented with different levels of red, orange, or yellow paprika juice were inoculated with mixes of Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp. bulgaricus. Paprika addition decreased the pH but increased titratable acidity, lactic acid bacteria (LAB) counts, total polyphenol content (TPC), levels of vitamin A and C, and antioxidant activity. Proteolysis and viscosity of paprika-containing yogurts were significantly higher than those of the control yogurt without paprika juice (p<0.05). In particular, the viscosity of red paprika yogurt was significantly higher than that of yogurts containing 5% orange and yellow paprika juices (each p<0.05). The antioxidant activity of the methanol extract of the yogurt containing 2.5% orange paprika juice was the highest. Storage at 4℃ for 15 days only slightly altered LAB counts, antioxidant activity, and TPC of paprika yogurt. These results indicate that paprika could be used as a natural food additive for the development of functional yogurts.

Verifications of Resistance to Phytophthora spp. in 2-year-old Citrus junos Cultivars and Related Specie

  • Yuzu (Citrus junos) gummosis disease, caused by Phytophthora nicotianae, was first reported in 1997. As known in citrus, Phytophthora is the most fastidious soil-borne pathogen to control. In order to minimize its damage to Citrus spp., integrated pest management (IPM) approach, including fungicide chemicals and resistant cultivars, is necessary. Therefore, in this study we tried to evaluate tolerance of yuzu cultivars and its related species against yuzu Phytophthora. Trifoliate orange was evaluated as a susceptible host to yuzu Phytophthora by both mycelial growth onto extract media and immature fruit inoculation. However, in zoospores spray-inoculation on 2-year-old cuttings tree, trifoliate orange appeared to have a resistant property as showing less than 6% diseased leaf rate. Among yuzu cultivars only 'Namhae No. 1' appeared resistant property against both P. nicotianae and P. citrophthora. The 'Namhae No. 1' showed 5.7% and 10.6% diseased leaf ratio by P. nicotianae and P. citrophthora, respectively. Clearly, in order to reduce damages caused by two yuzu Phytophthora, we suggest that growers may utilize a trifoliate orange as a rootstock and 'Namhae No. 1' as a scion for fruit production.
