  • The propose of study analyze a TEMA(Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association) E shell and tube heat exchanger performance with 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 baffles and 16, 20 tubes. In this investigate measured a variation of the heat exchanger cooling capacity change within each number of baffle and tube number and determined optimal number of baffle. designs for industry applications are optimized using the analysis of test results.

Numerical Analysis of the Effect of a Three-Dimensional Baffle Structure with Variable Cross-Section on the Parallel Flow Field Performance of PEMFC

  • In this study, a 3D model of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell is established, and a new 3D baffle structure is designed, which is combined with the parallel flow field and then optimized by numerical simulation methods. The number of baffles and the cross-sectional trapezoidal base angle are taken as the main variables, and their impacts on the performance indexes of the cathode side are analyzed. The results show that the 3D baffle can facilitate the convection and diffusion mass transfer of reactants, improve the uniformity of oxygen distribution, enhance the drainage capacity, and make the cell performance superior; however, too small angle will lead to excessive local convective mass flux, resulting in the decrease of the overall uniformity of oxygen distribution and lowering the cell performance. Among them, the optimal number of baffles and angle are 9 and 58°, respectively, which improves the net output power density by 10.8% than conventional flow field.

배플수에 따른 원통다관형 열교환기 성능에 관한 실험 적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger Performance with Baffle Spacing)

  • The shell and tube heat exchangers were introduced to apply to a big capacity condenser and a high pressure feed water heater for power plant in the beginning of 1990s. Design and manufacturing technology fur shell and tube heat exchangers have been developed until now. But it is very difficult to calculate the expected performance characteristics of the shell and tube heat exchanger, because there are many design parameters to be considered according to internal structure and the shell side heat transfer mechanism complicately related to the design parameters. Design parameters to be considered in the design stage of shell and tube heat exchanger are shell and tube side fluids, flow rate, inlet and outlet temperature, physical properties, type of heat exchanger, outer diameter, thickness, length of tube, tube arrangement, tube pitch, permissive pressure loss on both sides, type of baffle plate, baffle cutting ratio. The propose of study is an analysis TEMA(Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association) E shell and tube heat exchanger performance with changing a number of baffles(3, 5, 7, 9, 11) and tubes(16, 20) and determined optimal baffle spacing.

컴퓨터에 의한 열교환기 최적설계 (Computer-Aided Optimal Design of Heat Exchangers)

  • Optimal design of shell and tube heat exchanger system with the working fluids which may condense outside the tubes has been carried out under specified inlet and outlet conditions. Independent variables such as number of parallel series, tube diameter, distribution pitch, tube side pressure loss, baffle cut and shell side pressure loss as well as dependent variables such as shell diameter, number of tubes, number of serial series and number of baffles were all characterized according to the standard. Exhaustive search method was used to construct a computer program together with the calculation of heat transfer rate by LMTD method. stress analysis of maj or parts was made to examine their dimensions satisfying heat transfer and pressure loss requirements. Cost estimation based on the installation, operation and maintenance was also made, A few representative variables, heat transfer area, shell diameter and pressure loss, were used to express cost function, finally giving the optimal selection of all tentative solutions.

전산유체를 활용한 정수공정에서 후염소 투입공정 최적설계 방안 (Most suitable design method of post-chlorination process in portable water process by using CFD)

  • Post-chlorination for disinfection in portable water process is final process. The design factors of post-chlorination are inflow pipe line from tank of filtrated water to cleanwell, injection point of chlorine, appropriate shape of baffle in cleanwell for disinfection efficient improvement. Until now, we did not have the design standard for post-chlorination. we evaluated most suitable design method of post-chlorination process in portable water process by using computational fluid dynamics in this research. We found the result that the pipe to connect the cleanwell should be one. If pipe line split into two or more, uniform distribution of the flow is difficult. Second, optimal injection point of chlorine is the middle of pipe line to connect the cleanwell. Therefore, it is not economical to install chlorine contact basin in cleanwell. Third, the shape of baffle should be designed in order to water flows in one direction. And we found that it is better to design the low number of flow turning.

저점도 액 통기 교반용 글라스라이닝 홈베이스 임펠러의 최적 형상 (Optimum Geometry of Glass Lined HOMEBASE Impeller for Gas-Liquid System of Low Viscosity Liquid)

  • 글라스 라이닝 임펠러는 강산을 포함한 대부분의 화학물질들에 대해 내부식성이 있고, 또한 평활하고 눌어붙지 않는 표면을 가지며 세정이 용이하고 프로세스에 불순물들을 유입하지 않는 강점을 갖고 있다. 글라스 라이닝 HOMEBASE 임펠러는 저점도 유체에서 고점도 유체까지 폭넓은 점도 범위의 액체를 교반할 수 있도록 개발된 다목적형 대형 교반 임펠러이나, 그중에서도 세포 배양이나 효모의 배양, 맥주 발효 솥 등은 저점도 액의 통기 교반에 많이 사용하며, 특히 공기-수계의 통기성 교반에 많이 적용한다. 구조가 간단하면서도 성능 면에서 경쟁력을 갖는 HOMEBASE 임펠러에 대한 글라스 라이닝은 제작상 임펠러와 샤프트의 접합 면적을 가능한 한 작게 할 수 있도록 상하 분할이 필수적이다. 임펠러의 상하 분할은 혼합 성능에는 거의 영향을 미치지 않지만, 통기 성능을 저하하였다. 본 연구에서는 Glass Lined HOMEBASE 임펠러 형상의 최적화를 위해, 상·하부로 분할된 임펠러 사이의 장착각도차와 임펠러 사이의 간격 및 방해판의 개수가 통기 동력에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 상·하부로 분할된 임펠러 사이의 장착각도차와 간격이 통기를 할 때의 동력 Pg와 통기가 없을 때의 동력 P0의 비인 Pg/P0를 저하시킨다는 연구 결과를 통해 Glass Lined HOMEBASE 임펠러 최적 형상과 방해판 조건을 도출하였다.
