광섬유 케이블 접속함체의 사출성형 특성 분석 (Characteristics of Injection Molding in Optical Fiber Splice Closure)

  • Optical fiber splice closure serves to protect connection parts from external environment. Moreover, it functions as a connection, junction, and distribution in diverse surroundings such as aerial, underground, duct, and pole. In this research, first, the optical fiber splice closure, its configuration, and the design problem were briefly investigated. Second, the design and application for in-line cable closure were studied to satisfy its construction and technical features. The injection molding conditions and optimal design were conducted to save time and cost during the manufacturing process. Third, methods to minimize loss via of optical fiber cable while strongly fixing optical fiber cable with optical cable holder to prevent fracture were researched, and tests such as perfect air tightness and mechanical and environmental performance were conducted.

  • Intelligent distribution equipment is inevitable to realize self-healing which is one of smart grid functions in distribution network. Therefore, most of distribution equipment have been developed with self diagnostic sensors. However, it is not effective to construct on-line monitoring system for underground distribution cable because of high cost and low sensitivity. Recently, optical fiber composite cable is being considered for communication and power delivery in order to cope with increasing communication in distribution network. This paper presents the design and performance assessment results of underground cable on-line monitoring system using DTS(Distributed Temperature Sensing) and optical fiber composite underground cable.

  • A fuel tank contains water at the bottom under the fuel. The water comes from humidity by temperature change of inside and outside of tank. So it is necessary to measure both level to check precise amount of oil. But measuring instrument for level of water and fuel is not available yet. Since the fuel is inflammable, the sensor system must not include any electric circuits in the fuel tank. Optical cable sensor can satisfy this non-explosive condition. The displacement of a float changing by water level makes bending curvature of optical cable different. As the float rise up, the optical cable is bent more and the light signal in the cable decreases. The reduction of light signal is detected and it is converted into the change of water level. The output signal from a photo diode shows the proportional relation of water level. The increase of sensor voltage as a unit of ㎷ follows the level position of the float that is located between water and gasoline in the tank.

  • Recently, the demand for the optical cable is rapidly glowing because the number of internet user increases and high speed internet data transmission is required. To meet this demand, it is necessary to have a sufficient manufacturing capability for mass and high-quality production. But the present optical cable winding system has some serious problems such that the optical cable of radius (6 mm -40 mm) is often piled up and collapsed usually at the edge of the bobbin in the process of the cable winding. It is often necessary to have an additional operator in order to adjust the cable, which causes the productivity decrease. In order to improve a performance of cable winding system which deals with relatively thick cable( radius : 6 mm -40 mm ), we developed a new guiding system for a high-speed self-align cable winding. First of all, the winding mechanism was analyzed. Synchronization logics for the motions of winding, traversing, and the guiding were created and implemented by using the PLC and guiding system controller in a prototype cable winding system manufactured in the CILS( Computer Integrated Large scale System ) lab. An experimental verification was carried out to validate the logic. Results showed that the winding system with the developed guiding system outperformed in reducing pile-up and collapse in the high-speed winding(up to 300 mm/s) compared with the system without the guiding system.

광케이블 고장이 고객 불만에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Effects of Optical Cable Fault on Customer Complaints)

  • 본 연구는 광케이블 고장이 발생하였을 때 예상 피해 고객과 고장 처리 지연시간이 고객 불만 증가에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 한다. 광케이블 고장을 복구시키는데 소요되는 시간, 근무 요일여부, 계절성을 함께 고려하였고, 작업자 부주의로 인한 고장, 외부 공사, 코어 단선 및 밴딩 등 관리 가능 항목 고장과 자연재해, 차량추돌, 화재 등 관리 불가능한 변수를 구분하였다. 광케이블 고장 증가의 실증 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 광케이블 고장에 의한 피해 고객수와 복구 시간에 대해서 생산 함수를 이용하였을 때 고객 불만이 무차별하게 증가 하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 광케이블 고장처리 뿐만이 아니고 현장에서 관리 가능한 변수인 작업 장애, 외부 공사, 코어 단선이 발생하면 고객 불만을 증가 시켰다.

  • With the increasing use of smart electronic devices, the size of the related I/O interface market is increasing rapidly. Demand is also growing for the continuous increase of data and video signals-such as faster data processing speed and data storage capacity-in the smart electronic device input/output interface market. Currently, the POF hybrid cable used in the smart electronic device input / output interface market cannot transmit over a long distance because the optical loss is too large, and the GOF hybrid cable is both vulnerable to bending and other sudden outside changes, and expensive. Therefore, in this study, the design and fabrication of a GOF hybrid cable and fiber guide were carried out in order to develop a cable which can easily withstand external impact, has low optical losses, and meets the demand for continuous data and video signal increase in the smart electronic device input / output interface market.

EMTP를 이용한 광 복합 지중송전케이블 광 유니트 금속관의 시스템 영향분석 (Analysis on System Effects of SUS Tube in Optical Fiber Composite Power Cable Systems Using EMTP)

  • This paper describes the effects on SUS tube of power optical fiber composite cable on underground transmission lines. The effects on grounding, air gap between SUS tube and metal sheath, contact resistance between outer semi-conducting layer and metal sheath and grounding of SUS tube application or not are variously analysed using EMTP in normal operating condition as well as single line to ground fault. From these results, in this paper, the scheme for protecting the electrically abnormal phenomena will be established on power-optical fiber composite cable of underground transmission lines. This paper can contribute to specification of grounding reference of SUS tube of optical fiber composite power cable system.

  • Guaranteeing survivability is the most important issue in designing and operating optical transmission network. For dual system of optical transmission network, there should be two routes of the optical to prepare an error in one cable route. If a route is selected based on the standard of unused optical core when choosing an optical cable, dual optical cable routes could be installed in duplicated line. This paper simulates the installation of duplicated line when designing an optical transmission network, detects the status of duplicated line that could happen during transfer construction and switching and accomplishes a system that can confirm the location based on a map.

  • 본 논문은 광케이블 접속함체 및 광선로 감시 시스템을 다룬다. 기존의 광케이블 접속함체는 B2B, B2C 회선을 개통할 때 현장 작업자들이 접속함체 개.폐시 실시간으로 중앙제어부에서 인지 할 수 있는 시스템이 없었다. 이런 상황의 해결 방법으로 광선로 실시간 상태감시, 광선로 절단 시 경보 발생 및 즉각적인 절단 위치를 탐색, 감시형 접속함체의 개.폐 경보 발생, 광선로의 손실 변화 상태를 주기적으로 측정하는 시스템을 고려할 수 있는데, 본 논문은 광케이블 접속함체 내부에 커넥터와 트레이를 설치하여 작업자들이 이런 소자들을 분리하면 광신호가 차단되어 중앙관제에서 OTDR를 통해 실시간 감지되어 경보를 발생하도록 하는 감시 시스템에 관한 연구이다. 이러한 연구는 신속하고 효과적인 광선로 운용을 통해 망 품질 안정화에 기여 할 수 있다.
