  • In order to prevent chemical accidents caused by human error, a chemical accident prevention and response training program using advanced technology was developed. After designing a virtual process based on the previously built pilot plant, chemical accident response contents were developed. A part of the pilot facility was remodeled for content realization and a remote control function was given. In addition, a DCS program that can control facilities in a virtual environment was developed, and chemical process operator training (OTS) that can finally respond to virtual chemical accidents was developed in conjunction with AR. Through this, trainees can build driving skills by directly operating the device, and by responding to virtual chemical accidents, they can develop emergency response capabilities. If the next-generation OTS like this study is widely distributed in the chemical industry, it is expected to greatly contribute to the prevention of chemical accidents caused by human error.

  • Training power tiller operators in safe farming is necessary to avoid farming accidents. With the continuing progress in computational technology, driving simulators have become increasingly popular for conducting such training. Purpose: The objective of this study is to develop mock control devices and data acquisition apparatus for a tiller simulator. Methods: Except for the stand and tail wheel adjusting levers, the mock control devices were developed using a tiller handle assay. The data acquisition apparatus was realized using an embedded data-logging device and LabVIEW, the system design software. Results: The control devices of a real handle assay were successfully mimicked by the mock operator control devices, which used sensors for the relevant measurements. The data from the mock devices were acquired and transmitted to the main computer at intervals of 10 ms via Wi-Fi. Conclusions: The developed mock control devices operate similar to real power tillers and can be utilized in power tiller training simulators.

  • This paper presents an operator training simulator for power system restoration against massive black-out. The system is designed especially focused on the generality and convenient setting up for initial condition of simulation. The former is accomplished by using power flow calculation methodology, and PSS/E data is used to define the initial situation. The proposed simulator consists of three major components - the power flow(PF) module, data conversion(COW) module and GU subsystem. PF module calculates power flow, and then checks overvoltage of buses and overflow of lines. COW module composes an Y-Bus array and a data base at each restoration action. The initial Y-Bus array is constructed from PSS/E data. The user friendly GUI subsystem is developed including graphic editor and built-in operation manual. As a result, the maximum processing time for one step operation is 15 seconds, which is adequate for training purpose. Comparison with PSS/E simulation proves the accuracy and reliability of the training system.

The system is designed especially focused on the generality and convenient setting up for initial condition of simulation. The former is accomplished by using power flow calculation methodology, and PSS/E data is used to set up the initial state for easy setting. The proposed simulator consists of three major components-a power flow(PF), a data conversion(CONV), and, a GUI module. The PF module calculates power flow, and then checks over-voltages of buses and overloads of lines. The CONV module composes a Y-Bus array and a database at each restoration action. The initial Y-Bus array is composed from PSS/E data. A user friendly GUI module is developed including a graphic editor and a built-in operation manual. • Professional TBM Operator is in short supply worldwide, and insufficient construction experience of new personnel using TBM can lead to a decline in response capabilities when various construction risks occur. The fact that the TBM construction quality greatly depends on the skill and experience of the TBM operator, and the decrease in productivity due to insufficient skilled manpower, and the decrease in safety due to the decrease in skill level are frequently discussed problems in the TBM industry. To this end, several overseas companies and organizations have developed simulators, and a simulator is being developed in Korea. The International Tunneling Association is planning a comprehensive training, including classroom training, e-learning, simulator training and field training. Given the progress at home and abroad, TBM driver training and formal recognition of training through certification or licensing is expected to become the norm in the near future.

  • This stud was projected to develop the training course for VTS operators in Korea. The studying method was literature survey and questionnaire. It was properly used and analyzed that such as the concerned literature international symposium results and letters from Canada USA Japan and other countries in order to compare their contents This study proposed the basic training course for VTS operators in Korea on the basis of these data. and also concluded as followings. First the number and level of Korea VTS should be decided. Second the training organization and staff should be build and pointed. Third the VTS trainee should selected and the training level & period should be eatablished, Fourth The training should be the VTS training curriculum. Fifth The VTS operator certificate should be issued by proper test. But this need further study through the analysis for the questionnaire regarding to Korea VTS Training Program.
