  • Electric power system is consisted of power supply and power enable circuit. Power supply provides operating voltage with internal chip. Depending on the operating voltage, power enable circuit provides operating signal, PWREN. Because energy is obtained from signal of external station, passive transponder must have the low power consumption. In this paper, the power supply module of the low power transponder is designed and analyzed.

  • To provide a design direction for high efficiency thermoelectric module(TEM) dehumidifiers, the effects of design factors of TEM dehumidifiers on dehumidification energy efficiency and performance were numerically investigated. The design factors considered in this study are the TEM capacity, the performance of heat exchangers on the heating and cooling surfaces of the TEM. The higher capacity of the TEM results the higher dehumidification energy efficiency and performance at some operating voltage. The enhanced performance of the heat exchanger on heating surface increased the dehumidification energy efficiency and performance at all the operating voltage. The enhanced performance of the heat exchanger on cooling surface decreased the dehumidification energy efficiency and performance at all operating voltage.

  • A service robot is expected to be useful in indoor environment such as a hotel, a hospital and so on. However, many service robots are driven by wheels so that they cannot climb stairs to move to other floors. If the robot cannot use elevators. In this paper, the mobile manipulator system was developed, which can operate numeral buttons on the operating panel in the elevator. To perform this task, the robot is composed of an image recognition module, an ultrasonic sensor module and a manipulator. The robot can recognize numeral buttons and an end-effector in manipulator by the vision system. The Learning vector quantization (LVQ) algorithm is used to recognize the number on the button. The barcode mark on the end-effector is used to recognize the end-effector. The manipulator can push numeral buttons using informations captured by the vision system. The proposed method is evaluated by experiments.

  • Based on innovative membrane module concepts reverse osmosis and nanofiltration are going to become important instruments in environmental engineering. One example is the Disc-Tube-module and its application for the purification of landfill leachate. Currently over 45 different landfills are using this ROCHEM DT-module, in some cases combined with the high pressure reverse osmosis versions of this module, operating at up to 120 bar and 200 bar. This state of the art membrane technology and the DTF-module for nanofiltration, developed by ROCHEM on the basis of the DT-module and RO-systems for the purification of landfill leachate, make possible in hybrid processes permeate recovery rates of more than 97 % with concentration factors up to 40.

  • The efficiency of automated assembly line is increased by realizing the automation of each assembly cell, monitoring the line information and developing the real-time line control system it. which production flow is controllable. In this paper, the several modules which are important factors when constructing automated real-time control system, such as, line control S/W module, real-time model change module, error handling module and line production management S/W module, are developed. For developing these important programming modules, real-time control and multi-tasking techniques are integrated. In this paper, operating method of real-time line control in PCB automated assembly line is proposed and for effective control of production line by using multi-tasking technique, proper operating method for relating real-time line control with multi-tasking is proposed by defining the levels of signals and tasks. CIM-Oriented modular programming method considering expandability and flexibility will be added for further research in the future.

  • This article presents the optimal operation of an air conditioner using thermoelectric modules. A prototype of air conditioner using four thermoelectric modules has been designed and built. The system performance with evaporative cooling for hot side of the module are studied in detail for several operating parameters, such as input power to the thermoelectric module, fans and pump. It is found that the optimal input voltage to the thermoelectric module and pump is selected for the best system performance based on the cooling capacity and the COP at a given operating condition. It is also found that both the cooling capacity and COP of a system is increased with an increase in the input power to fans. The cooling performance could be improved when the ambient temperature is increased and the relative humidity is decreased since the evaporative cooling at the hot side has been increased.

  • The performances of three different types of photovoltaic (PV) module technologies namely, copper-indium-diselenide (CIGS), mono-crystalline silicon (mo-Si) and amorphous silicon (a-Si) have been comparatively studied in the grid-connected system for more than a year under the tropical monsoon climate of Thailand. The yields, performance ratios and system efficiencies for the respective PV module technologies have been calculated and a comparison is presented here. The performance ratios of the initial operation year for CIGS showed highest among the compared technologies under Thailand climate conditions by marking 97.0% while 89.6% for a-Si and 81.5% for mo-Si. Although mo-Si has shown highest efficiencies all over the period, under the testing conditions, the operating efficiency of mo-Si was down-graded from its reference value mainly due to high operating temperature and the efficiency of the tested CIGS module was also found as high as that of mo-Si in the study. Accordingly, outdoor assessment shows that CIGS modules have demonstrated high performance in terms of yields and performance ratios in Thailand climate conditions.

  • Noise of digital camera has been noticeable to its users. Particularly, noise of a barrel assembly module in zoom in/zoom out operation is recorded while taking a video. Reduction of barrel noise becomes crucial but there are not many studies on noise of digital camera due to its short history of use. In this study, experiment-based analyses are implemented to identify sources of noise and vibration because of complexity and compactness of the barrel system. Output noise is acquired in various operation conditions using synchronization for spectral analysis. Noise sources of a barrel assembly in zoom operating are first identified by the comparison with gear frequency analysis and then correlation analysis between noise and vibration is applied to confirm the generation path of noise. Analysis on noise transfer characteristic of zoom module is also carried out in order to identify the most contributing components. One of possible countermeasures of noise in zoom operating is investigated by an experimental approach.

  • Module is an object file that can be loaded into operating system dynamically and has complete privileged access to all resources in kernel. Therefore trivial misuses in a module may cause critical system halts or deadlock situations. In this paper, we propose Kernel Resource Protector(KRP) scheme to reduce the various problems caused by module. KRP provides protections of a variety of kernel resources such as memory, major number and work queue resource. We implement the scheme onto linux kernel 2.6.18, and experimental results show that our scheme can protect kernel resources effectively.

  • An operating principle of PID module was implemented using the load, where the integer in a PID measuring derivate equation were valid in the ranges of 500-9000, 60-1000, and 000-9000, for P, I and D, respectively. A load operation program was designed to investigate the PID theory and its realization process. With it, it was examined the process that the current PV tracts the target SV, By investigating the time when the PV approaches the SV and the rate at which the EV is varied, it is revealed that 1) larger (or Smaller) Kp leads to faster (or slower) approaching of PV to SV, 2) smaller (or larger) Ti results in faster (or slower) approaching of PV to SV, 3) larger (or smaller)$T_d$ causes smaller (or Larger) rate variation in the EV. These observation were found to coincide with those of PID operating characteristics. Though this implementation, it is known for the widespread use of PID module that an improvement should be made in the error of temperature. This, meanwhile, implies that the computational time of conventional manipulation valve must be faster than 0.1 second. It is demanded that an improved PID module including the A/D and D/A module, in itself must be used in conjunction with PLC.
