  • Rapid expansion of digital convergence, involving services and technologies from different areas that are combining to create new forms of products or services. Digital convergence itself is changing from technology-based to content-based, to include the convergence of different types of contents as well as contents of the same kind. In line with this trend, vigorous researches are being done to combine various formats and types of academic contents to create new services. In this paper, we examine cases of connection and convergence among different types of academic contents and analyze its characteristics, as well as the pros and cons. We especially focus on CLICK, KISTI's model of connection and convergence among different types of contents, to introduce a special feature of convergence platforms, difficulties involved and their solutions, and researches to be conducted in the future.

  • The relevance of the research topic lies in the necessity to use social networks as innovative tools of marketing communications. A wide audience and the ability to segment the market for a specific consumer determine the construction of a corporate strategy, which will be based on using the social networking approach. The spread of the global coronavirus pandemic has led to the rapid development of remote communication channels between the company and the customer. The issue of using marketing tools in social networks acquires the most urgent importance in the modern world of the introduction and implementation of the company's marketing strategies. The purpose of the academic paper is to study the use of social networks as features of implementing the marketing campaign. Social networks are the result of the development of digital technologies and the processes of creating an information society involved in the digital space. The objectives of the research are to analyse the opportunity of using social networks as a tool for marketing communications and their implementation at the level of its widespread use by enterprises and establishments. It is significant to create an advertising campaign by defining the target audience and outlining the key aspects, on which the company is focused. The research methodology consists in determining the theoretical and methodological approaches to the essence of introducing social networks and their practical importance in the implementation of marketing activities of companies. The obtained results can significantly improve the quality of functioning of modern enterprises and organizations that plan to master a new market segment or gain competitive advantages in the existing one. The academic paper examines the essence of social networks as a tool of marketing communications. The key principles of the development of digital social platforms were revealed. The quality of implementing the advertising campaign in the social network was studied, and further prospects for the development of using social networks as a component of the marketing strategy were outlined. Therefore, the academic paper analyses the problems of using social networks as a marketing tool.

  • International research has actively explored and analyzed the implementation of e-learning platforms by libraries in response to the advancement of online learning models. In contrast, within Korea, while the significance and necessity of online library services and education are acknowledged, there remains a paucity of studies providing detailed methodologies for their implementation. This study aims to propose a practical e-learning platform for public libraries, detailing design guidelines and developing a prototype. Utilizing the Rapid Prototyping methodology, this study reviewed theoretical backgrounds and prior research, selecting Moodle LMS for initial design guidelines. The validity and reliability of the evaluation were assessed by experts and users. Based on the evaluation results, the final design guidelines and prototype of the e-learning platform for libraries were established. The final guidelines consist of four main functions, nine detailed functions, and forty specific instructions.

Design Characteristics of Augmented Reality Digital Fashion (증강 현실 디지털 패션의 디자인 특성)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze contemporary sociocultural phenomena and values through characteristics of augmented reality (AR) digital fashion design. The research method included a literature review on the metaverse and augmented reality, combined with a case study using both quantitative analysis through big data text mining and qualitative analysis through constant comparison. Data analysis was conducted using Python-based open-source tools: First, 6,725 data entries were collected from AR digital fashion platforms and brands identified in articles from Vogue and Vogue Business containing keywords of 'augmented reality' and 'digital fashion. Second, text preprocessing involved stop word removal, tokenization, and POS-tagging of nouns and adjectives using the NLTK library. Third, top 50 keywords were extracted through term frequency (TF) and TF-IDF analysis, with results visualized using a word cloud. Fourth, characteristics of products' external design and internal concepts that contained top keywords were classified, with their value examined through repeated comparison. Results indicate that AR digital fashion design has the following characteristics. First, it embodies surreal fantasy through designs that mimic natural biological patterns using 3D scanning and modeling technology. Second, it presents a trans-boundary aspect by utilizing the fluidity of body and space to challenge vertical and discriminatory social structures. Third, it imagines a new future transcending traditional sociocultural concepts by expanding perceptions of space and time based on advanced technological aesthetics. Fourth, it contributes to sustainability by exploring alternatives for the fashion industry in response to climate change and ecological concerns.

  • Multimedia Broadcast communication convergence services are broadcast communication convergence services new form that combines a platform technology for driving the application services of various media-related Internet and TV devices. It is possible to mounted the embedded OS of TV existing technology and to support a variety of smart application services to a TV technology evolved form equipped with various platforms on the OS. The services that are fused in this way, multi-media broadcasting communication convergence new services Open IPTV, Smart TV, mobile IPTV, and N-screen, are services actively focusing on three companies domestic services. However, in order to use the software to connect to the Internet for the provision of services, is inherent software vulnerabilities or the Internet. These vulnerabilities can lead to serious security incidents. Therefore, in this paper, or be able to derive the potential security threats that occur in multimedia broadcasting service environment based on security threats and vulnerabilities of existing threats lead to such security incidents in fact, the security it was carried out through a mock hacking validation for threats. It was also suggested necessary technical security measures that can be protect against security threats revealed by using the verification result through the penetration testing. Has been presented countermeasures in fusion communication service environment of multimedia broadcasting by using these results.

A Comic Facial Expression Method for Intelligent Avatar Communications in the Internet Cyberspace (인터넷 가상공간에서 지적 아바타 통신을 위한 코믹한 얼굴 표정의 생성법)

  • As a means of overcoming the linguistic barrier between different languages in the Internet, a new sign-language communication system with CG animation techniques has been developed and proposed. In the system, the joint angles of the arms and the hands corresponding to the gesture as a non-verbal communication tool have been considered. The emotional expression, however, could as play also an important role in communicating each other. Especially, a comic expression is more efficient than real facial expression, and the movements of the cheeks and the jaws are more important AU's than those of the eyebrow, eye, mouth etc. Therefore, in this paper, we designed a 3D emotion editor using 2D model, and we extract AU's (called as PAU, here) which play a principal function in expressing emotions. We also proposed a method of generating the universal emotional expression with Avatar models which have different vertex structures. Here, we employed a method of dynamically adjusting the AU movements according to emotional intensities. The proposed system is implemented with Visual C++ and Open Inventor on windows platforms. Experimental results show a possibility that the system could be used as a non-verbal communication means to overcome the linguistic barrier.

  • One of the important factors among the smart farm factors is environmental measurement. This study tried to design an environmental measurement monitoring system through Bluetooth wireless communication with LoRa using the open source programs Arduino, App Inventor, and Node Red. This system consists of Arduino, LoRa shield, temperature and humidity sensor (SHT10), and carbon dioxide sensor (K30). The environmental measurement system is configured as a system that allows the sensor to collect environmental data and transmit it to the user through wireless communication to conveniently monitor the farm environment. As libraries used in the Arduino program, LoRa.h, Sensirion.h, LiquidCrystal_I2C.h and K30_I2C.h were used. When receiving environmental data from the sensor at regular intervals, coding using average value was used for data stabilization. An Android-based app was developed using Node Red and App Inventor program as the user interface. It can be seen that the environmental data for the sensor is well collected with the screen output to the serial screen of Arduino, the screen of the smartphone, and the user interface of Node Red. Through these open source-based platforms and programs will be applied to various agricultural applications.

  • Recently, there have been cases in which counterfeit foreign ships have entered and left domestic ports several times. Vessels have a ship-specific serial number given by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to identify the vessel, and IMO marking is mandatory on all ships built since 2004. In the case of airports and ports, which are representative logistics platforms, a security system is essential, but it is difficult to establish a security system at a port and there are many blind spots, which can cause security problems due to insufficient security systems. In this paper, a port security system is designed using deep learning object recognition and OpenCV. The security system process extracts the IMO number of the ship after recognizing the object when entering the ship, determines whether it is the same ship through feature point matching for ships with entry records, and stores the ship image and IMO number in the entry/exit DB for the first arrival vessel. Through the system of this paper, port security can be strengthened by improving the efficiency and system of port logistics by increasing the efficiency of port management personnel and reducing incidental costs caused by unauthorized entry.

The Effect of the Characteristics of Agri-Food Open Market on the Repurchase Intention: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Innovation (농식품 오픈 마켓 특성이 재구매 의도에 미치는 영향: 혁신성의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • With the disappearance of boundaries between online and offline, the O2O(online to offline) platform service is rapidly growing. Unlike general products, freshness is an important decision-making factor for agri-food, and there are many limiting factors for growth as an open market among O2O platforms due to the characteristics of difficult refunds and exchanges compared to other items and new transaction methods. In order to overcome these obstacles, consumer innovation must be considered. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of O2O(online to offline) platform characteristics perception on agri-food repurchase intentions. And an empirical survey of the hypothesis is made that innovation will show a moderating effect between agri-food O2O platform characteristics and repurchase intention. For this purpose, Using a convenience sampling technique, an online survey was conducted through Google survey from April 1 to April 15, 2021. A total of final analysis data were collected from a total of 270 purchase experienced of agri-food O2O(online to offline) platform. The SPSS program was used for analysis, and multiple regression analysis was used for hypothesis verification. The results showed that Economic, Interaction, and Playfulness had a significant positive effect on agri-food repurchase intend. Also, Interactivity × innovation, playfulness × innovation were found to have a significant positive (+) effect on repurchase intention. The results of this study show that innovation reduces the burden on consumers for new systems and mobile transactions. The results of this study suggest that convenient interface design is important for activating O2O transactions of agri-food. In addition, education and support are needed to strengthen the IT competency of farmers. The results of this study will be able to contribute to the establishment of infrastructure for agri-food open market shopping malls. In future studies, the influence of the O2O platform type on the purchase intention should be studied continuously.

An Analytical Approach Using Topic Mining for Improving the Service Quality of Hotels (호텔 산업의 서비스 품질 향상을 위한 토픽 마이닝 기반 분석 방법)

  • Thanks to the rapid development of information technologies, the data available on Internet have grown rapidly. In this era of big data, many studies have attempted to offer insights and express the effects of data analysis. In the tourism and hospitality industry, many firms and studies in the era of big data have paid attention to online reviews on social media because of their large influence over customers. As tourism is an information-intensive industry, the effect of these information networks on social media platforms is more remarkable compared to any other types of media. However, there are some limitations to the improvements in service quality that can be made based on opinions on social media platforms. Users on social media platforms represent their opinions as text, images, and so on. Raw data sets from these reviews are unstructured. Moreover, these data sets are too big to extract new information and hidden knowledge by human competences. To use them for business intelligence and analytics applications, proper big data techniques like Natural Language Processing and data mining techniques are needed. This study suggests an analytical approach to directly yield insights from these reviews to improve the service quality of hotels. Our proposed approach consists of topic mining to extract topics contained in the reviews and the decision tree modeling to explain the relationship between topics and ratings. Topic mining refers to a method for finding a group of words from a collection of documents that represents a document. Among several topic mining methods, we adopted the Latent Dirichlet Allocation algorithm, which is considered as the most universal algorithm. However, LDA is not enough to find insights that can improve service quality because it cannot find the relationship between topics and ratings. To overcome this limitation, we also use the Classification and Regression Tree method, which is a kind of decision tree technique. Through the CART method, we can find what topics are related to positive or negative ratings of a hotel and visualize the results. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the representation of an analytical approach for the improvement of hotel service quality from unstructured review data sets. Through experiments for four hotels in Hong Kong, we can find the strengths and weaknesses of services for each hotel and suggest improvements to aid in customer satisfaction. Especially from positive reviews, we find what these hotels should maintain for service quality. For example, compared with the other hotels, a hotel has a good location and room condition which are extracted from positive reviews for it. In contrast, we also find what they should modify in their services from negative reviews. For example, a hotel should improve room condition related to soundproof. These results mean that our approach is useful in finding some insights for the service quality of hotels. That is, from the enormous size of review data, our approach can provide practical suggestions for hotel managers to improve their service quality. In the past, studies for improving service quality relied on surveys or interviews of customers. However, these methods are often costly and time consuming and the results may be biased by biased sampling or untrustworthy answers. The proposed approach directly obtains honest feedback from customers' online reviews and draws some insights through a type of big data analysis. So it will be a more useful tool to overcome the limitations of surveys or interviews. Moreover, our approach easily obtains the service quality information of other hotels or services in the tourism industry because it needs only open online reviews and ratings as input data. Furthermore, the performance of our approach will be better if other structured and unstructured data sources are added.
