Purpose: The objective of the study is to describe the experience of health care activities of the menopausal women through phenomenological methodology. Methods: Seven menopausal women participated in the study. Open in-depth interviews were used to collect data, and data were analyzed by the phenomenological methods suggested by Colaizzi. Results: The data were separated into 4 categories of uncomfortable life due to physical and emotional change, building consistency in daily life through regulating a routine rhythm, recovering normality, recovering stability, and 8 clusters of themes; securing regularity in daily life, securing availability in daily life, regulating through elimination and diminishment, regulating through supplementation, being patient and control self, expressing self, review the context and exchanging views, expending a world through one's faith. Conclusion: Participants accepted menopause not as a disease but as a natural course of life and realized that menopausal health problems could be naturally settled in general health care activities in daily life.

Magneto-Rheological (MR) fluid is suspension of fine magnetic particles in a liquid carrier such as silicon oil or water. MR fluid exhibits solid-like mechanical behavior into chain or clusters with high yield stress when magnetic field is applied to the particles. The response of MR fluids is very quick and reversible after removal of the field. MR Fluids have high yield stress (up to 5kPs) and operate in low voltage power supply. Recently, MR damper using MR fluids was open used in vibration control system such as structural devices, seat vibration controllers and helicopter rotor systems, but it is too big in size and heavy. Therefore, it is not appreciate to rehabilitation devices such as prosthetic limbs.

One of the most important problems in cluster analysis is the selection of variables that truly define cluster structure, while eliminating noisy variables that mask such structure. Brusco and Cradit (2001) present VS-KM(variable-selection heuristic for K-means clustering) procedure for selecting true variables for K-means clustering based on adjusted Rand index. This procedure starts with the fixed number of clusters in K-means and adds variables sequentially based on an adjusted Rand index. This paper presents an updated procedure combining the VS-KM with the automated K-means procedure provided by Kim (2009). This automated variable selection procedure for K-means clustering calculates the cluster number and initial cluster center whenever new variable is added and adds a variable based on adjusted Rand index. Simulation result indicates that the proposed procedure is very effective at selecting true variables and at eliminating noisy variables. Implemented program using R can be obtained on the website "http://faculty.knou.ac.kr/sskim/nvarkm.r and vnvarkm.r".

The Purpose of this study is to understand the meaning and the essence of suffering as viewpoint and to find the meaning and structure of the experience from encounters with patients in their terminal stages of illness. Method: A descriptive design based on the phenomenological approach model developed by Collaizzi was used. The period of data collection was from August to November of 2000. Data collection was conducted by open-ended and audio-taped interviews. The participants were nine female nurses who were willing to take part in this study. Results: Results of this study were classified into five main categories. The main category clusters were "difficulty in experiencing suffering," "professional challenges to expert nurses," "formation of empathic relationships," "expanding consciousness through suffering," and "alleviation of the patient's suffering." Conclusion: In conclusion, the implications for providing nursing care to end-stage patients in the throes of suffering is both rewarding and stressful. However, sharing these research results may help other nurses discover and experience deeper meanings in their own practice and careers.deeper meanings in their own practice and careers.

We have studied magnetic structure and magnetic anisotropy energy of cubic transition metal mono-oxide cluster FeO and MnO using OpenMX method based on density functional method. The calculation results show that the antiferromagnetic spin arrangement has the lowest energy for FeO and MnO due to the superexchange interactions. The magnetic anisotropy is only found for antiferromagnetically ordered FeO cluster, since occupied electron of 3d down-spin level induces the spin-orbit couplings with <111> directed angular momentum.

To understand about Gould Belt, we intend to study chemical abundances for two young open clusters - IC 2391 which is a member of Gould Belt and NGC 6475 which is not. UVES POP (Ultraviolet and Visual Echelle Spectrograph Paranal Observatory Project) provides the spectra of twelve stars in IC 2391 and five stars in NGC 6475 with spectral resolution R of 80,000. In this study, we have determined the stellar parameters (Teff, logg, metallicity, and microturbulant velocity) using Fe I and Fe II lines. The equivalent widths of iron lines have been measured by TAME. The results of stellar parameters are presented.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to understand the nurses' experiences of caring for demented older persons in geriatric in care facilities. Methods: The subjects were ten nurses employed in geriatric care facilities. Open in-depth interviews were used to collect data from January, 2010 to October, 2010. The Colaizzi phenomenological method was used for data analysis. Results: The experiences of nurses' caring for patients with dementia were divided into the following six categories: 'new encounter', 'understanding of intention and satisfying', 'dilemma of caring', 'contriving of comfort', 'comprehensive coordinator', and 'being present'. There were 15 clusters of themes. The subjects stated that the best caring for the demented older persons were 'encounter, knowing, and being with them'. Conclusion: Nurses' caring could improve the quality of life for demented older patients in geriatric care facility. These results suggest that institutional, administrational strategies and schemes need to cluster around the relationship with patients who would include encounter knowing and being with them.

A mediastinal mass was aspirated by fluoroscope-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy in a 47 years old female patient. The first aspiration smears were not diagnostic, because of hemorrhagic background and cell paucity. On the second aspiration, the smears were composed of some clusters of benign epithelial cells in hemorrhagic back-ground. Cells were arranged in mostly solid sheets and tended to form glandular lumina in part. Their nuclei were round and vesicular. Nucleoli were not prominent. These findings were suggestive of benign glandular tissue, which was finally confirmed as mediastinal thyroid gland by open thoracotomy specimen.

On the instantaneous tidal relaxation approximation, formulae are derived for the ellipticities and virial theorem of a slightly flattened homogeneous rotating cluster (the largest axis of the cluster is directed towards the Galactic center), in terms of the Galactic tidal force and the characteristic intrinsic plus orbital angular velocity. The expression for a purely tidally-determined ellipticity is identical to that for an incompressible fluid body of uniform density. Orbital motion generally contributes significantly to the shape of the cluster. The virial theorem is identical to that for an isolated cluster except that the gravitational potential energy is multiplied by (1-${\chi}$), where ${\chi}$ is a positive tidal correction term. To obtain the actual mass of a cluster, the virial theorem mass based on an isolated cluster should be multiplied by the factor 1/(1-${\chi}$). The formulae are applied to open star clusters, the globular cluster ${\omega}$ Centauri, and dwarf elliptical galaxies in the Local Group.

One day, a galaxy study suddenly came to me and became a friend of 40 years. The study of galaxies, which began with surface photometry of nearby galaxies, ended up in galaxy morphology through chemical and dynamical evolution of galaxies. All that deviated from the study of galaxies was the study of the open clusters. So it seems to me that I devoted my entire life to the study of galaxies. The most memorable one is the observation at Sobaeksan Observatory. Even though the heavy snow fell, I climbed Sobaeksan to meet galaxies. Galaxies observed at Kiso Observatory, DAO, and BOAO are now beyond memory, but I still enjoy seeing them. There are many memories, but the biggest pleasure I've had in my galaxy studies is when I've encountered the galactic conformity between host and its satellite galaxies. Eureka! Now the night sky is changing from the object of study to the object of awe. I will share this joy.
