건축시공 온라인강의 학습지원용 애플리케이션 프로토타이핑 (Application Prototyping to Support Learning from Online Lectures on Building Construction)

  • Currently, attempts are being made to introduce innovative teaching methods in architectural engineering education. However, there is still a lack of research supporting self-directed learners. In this regard, this study sought to develop an application prototype to support learning from online lectures on architectural engineering and conduct prototyping for its evolution. Menus in the application prototype consisted of four main categories: lecture operation, video lectures, eBooks and past exam questions. The lecture operation was classified into eight sub-categories, including assignment submission and notice, so as to support interactions between instructors and learners as well as confirmation of the delivery methods. With respect to video lectures, assignment submissions and notice functions, prototyping connecting the mobile web was implemented to enhance user convenience.

TOEIC의 디지털 융복합 블렌디드 학습과 면대면 학습의 비교 연구 (A Comparison of Learning Effectiveness in Face-to-face versus Blended Learning of TOEIC)

  • 본 연구자는 TOEIC 블렌디드 학습을 운영하면서 면대면 학습과 학습효과를 비교할 필요성을 느꼈다. 학습효과가 떨어질 경우에는 블렌디드 학습을 중단하기 위해서였다. 따라서 본 연구자는 학습자들의 한 학기 동안의 성적 향상도, 학습자들의 자가진단 점수, 온라인 과제 참여도와 문제풀이 평균점수를 활용하여 두 학습을 비교하였다. 이러한 비교를 하기 위해 t-test, 피어슨 상관관계, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 큰 차이는 아니라 할지라도 블렌디드 학습이 면대면 학습보다 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그 이유는 블렌디드 학습의 학습자들이 오프라인 수업과 수업 게시판을 통해 교수자와 소통할 수 있는 반면, 매주 온라인 수업의 출석을 독려하는 문자를 받았으며, 학습자들의 온라인 수업의 참여가 온라인 과제 또한 적극적으로 참여할 수 있게 영향을 끼친 탓이라고 분석하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 향후 TOEIC 블렌디드 학습을 운영하고자 하는 교수자들에게 많은 참고가 될 것이다.

SPARK: A Smart Parametric Online RWA Algorithm

  • The large potential bandwidth available in wavelength-division multiplexed optical networks makes this technology of crucial importance for satisfying the ever increasing capacity requirements of the next-generation Internet. In this scenario, the routing and wavelength assignment(RWA) problem that concerns determining the optical paths and wavelengths to be used for connection establishment in a wavelength-routed network, is still one of the most important open issues. In this paper we propose a new online dynamic grooming-capable RWA heuristic scheme working on wavelength division multiplexing(WDM) networks as a multistage selection process. The proposed algorithm is transparent with respect to the presence of wavelength converters, achieves very low connection rejection ratios with minimal computational complexity and is appropriate for the modern multilayer optical circuit and wavelength switched networks with sparse wavelength conversion capability.

  • We propose a dynamic wavelength assignment algorithm for online RWA problem in WDM networks with wavelength conversion. With our algorithm, for a given network condition, the following results have been proven mathematically: (1) the probability to find the set of wavelengths for a requested connection is equal or better than any other previously proposed algorithms, (2) our algorithm minimizes the usage of converters by chaining the minimum number of the longest wavelength continuous segments, leaving more converters available for future requests and (3) the complexity of our algorithm is reasonable, which is also another advantage of our algorithm.

  • This paper describes expansion of the state space pole assignment self-tuning control of SISO systems with system noise and abservation noise to that of MIMO systems. Resursive Prediction Error method is used for both parameter and state estimation in the block controllable canonical form. This simplifies the state feedback law by eliminating the online computation of transformation matrix.

  • 조선소의 지게차는 작업 특성상 무거운 물건을 상/하차하거나 이송하는 작업이 빈번하다. 작업은 동적이며 시간대별로 생성 비율이 다르다. 특히 오전과 오후 업무시간 직후에 작업 발생 비율이 높은 경향을 보인다. 이러한 상/하차 작업과 이송작업의 무게는 매번 다르며, 활용되는 지게차 역시 작업 가능한 허용무게의 제약이 있다. 본 연구에서는 지게차의 원활한 운영을 위해 최소 비용할당을 사용한 최근린 배차 규칙 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제시된 알고리즘은 다양한 종류의 지게차와 다수의 작업을 동시에 고려하여 배차를 결정하며, 지게차 종류에 따른 작업 불가능을 고려하기 위해 가상 지게차와 가상 작업을 생성하는 방법을 제안한다. 그리고 차량의 상태를 고려하여 체계적으로 지게차를 선택하는 방법도 함께 제시한다. 성능지표는 평균 공차이동거리와 평균 작업대기시간으로 한다. 성능비교를 위해 조선소의 지게차 운영방식을 모델링한 우선순위 규칙을 비교 대상으로 한다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제시한 알고리즘의 우수성을 확인한다.

온라인 동영상 수업 사례 : 전문대학 '전기자기학' 교과목을 중심으로 (A Case Study of Online Video Lecture : Focusing on 'Electromagnetism' Course at Junior College)

  • In this study, we examined the cases of online video classes conducted under the COVID-19 situation for 46 first-year students majoring in electrical engineering at a 3-year college in Gyeongnam. The research was carried out according to the course development process so that classes could be conducted efficiently, focusing on electromagnetism(1) course in the second semester of the first year. The online class consisted of uploading PPT recorded videos and lecture materials to the LMS and giving assignments. The contents of the study were in the scope of examining learners' perceptions through online learning contents, assignment submission, mutual feedback between instructors and learners, university-level lecture evaluation, and free opinions on online video-based electromagnetism(1) classes. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that online lecture review and problem-solving are particularly important for understanding lecture materials, and also given the nature of engineering subjects that require plenty of mathematical expressions, the detailed and immediate feedback provided by instructor enhances learners' class satisfaction and understanding. Based on these, the direction of online classes to be developed after the COVID-19 pandemic and teaching and learning methods suitable for the characteristics of subjects were discussed.

CAN기반 분산 제어시스템의 종단 간 지연시간 분석과 협조 스케줄링 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Coordinated Scheduling Algorithm and End-to-end Delay Analysis for CAN-based Distributed Control Systems)

  • In this paper, a coordinated scheduling algorithm is proposed to reduce end-to-end delay in distributed control of systems. For the algorithm, the analysis of practical end-to-end delay in the worst case is performed priory with considering implementation of the systems. The end-to-end delay is composed of the delay caused by multi-task scheduling of operating systems, the delay caused by network communications, and the delay caused by asynchronous timing between operating systems and network communications. Through some simulation tests based on CAN(Controller Area Network), the proposed worst case end-to-end delay analysis is validated. Through the simulation tests, it is also shown that a real-time distributed control system designed to existing worst case delay cannot guarantee end-to-end time constraints. With the analysis, a coordinated scheduling algorithm is proposed here. The coordinated scheduling algorithm is focused on the reduction of the delay caused by asynchronous timing between operating systems and network communications. Online deadline assignment strategy is proposed for the scheduling. The performance enhancement of the distributed control systems by the scheduling algorithm is shown through simulation tests.

온라인 쇼핑몰의 브랜드 중심 창고관리 기법에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Brand-based Warehouse Management in Online Clothing Shops)

  • As the sales volume of online shops increases, the job burden in the back-offices of the online shops also increases. Order picking is the most labor-intensive operation among the jobs in a back-office and mid-size pure click online shops are experiencing the time delay and complexity in order picking nowadays while fulfilling their customers' orders. Those warehouses of the mid-size shops are based on manual systems, and as order pickings are repeated, the warehouses get a mess and lots of products in those warehouses are getting missing, which results in severe delay in order picking. To overcome this kind of problem in online clothing shops, we research a methodology to locate warehousing products. When products arrive at a warehouse, they are packed into a box and located on a rack in the warehouse. At this point, the operator should determine the box to be put in and the location on the rack for the box to be put on. This problem could be formulated as an Integer Programming model, but the branch-and bound algorithm to solve the IP model requires enormous computation, and sometimes it is even impossible to get a solution in a proper time. So, we relaxed the problem, developed a set of heuristics as a methodology to get a semi-optimum in an acceptable time, and proved by an experiment that the solutions by our methodology are satisfactory and acceptable by field managers.

A Workflow for Practical Programming Class Management Using GitHub Pages and GitHub Classroom

  • In programming classes, there is always a need to efficiently manage programming assignments. This is especially important as class sizes and assignment complexity grows. GitHub and GitHub Classroom makes the management of student assignments much simpler than uploading files and folders to a LMS or shared online drive. Additionally, git and GitHub are industry standard tools, so introducing students these tools in class provides them a good opportunity to start learning about how software is developed in the real-world. This study describes a workflow that uses both GitHub Pages and GitHub Classroom for more efficient classroom and assignment management. The workflow outlined in this study was used in two practical web programming classes in Spring 2023 with 46 third and fourth-year university students. GitHub Pages was used as a classroom website to distribute class announcements, assignments, lecture slides, study guides, and exams. GitHub Classroom was used as a class roster and assignment management platform. The workflow presented in this study is expected to assist other lecturers with the formidable tasks of distributing, collecting, grading, and leaving feedback on multiple students' multi-file programming assignments in practical programming classes.
