Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate polysomnographic and cephalometric characteristics of patients with OSA according to obesity level based on the World Health Organization (WHO) Asian-Pacific BMI criteria. Methods: One hundred and thirty-one consecutive patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) were evaluated using standard level 1 polysomnography and cephalometric analyses. The subjects were categorized into normal, overweight and obese groups according to the WHO Asian-Pacific BMI criteria. Respiratory indices and cephalometric parameters were compared among groups. Results: The 131 patients consisted of 111 males and 20 females, with a mean age of 44.1±12.4 years. The mean value of BMI was 25.3±3.4 kg/m2 for all subjects, 20.6±2.2 kg/m2 for normal (n=27), 24.0±0.5 kg/m2 for overweight (n=33) and 27.6±2.2 kg/m2 for obese (n=71). The obese group had a significantly higher apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) and respiratory arousal index and lower oxygen saturation level than the normal group (p<0.05). Total AHI, mean oxygen saturation level and respiratory arousal index were significantly correlated with BMI (p<0.001). A longer soft palate and anterior position of the hyoid bone were significantly correlated with BMI level (p ≤0.05). Conclusions: Obese patients have a higher risk of compromised craniofacial skeletal features and soft tissue structures, and severe OSA than non-obese patients.

Jinhae Bay located in the southern of Korean Peninsular is an important spawning area in Korea. By some preliminary studies it was measured several times that adult Pacific codes (Gadus microcephalus) were passed (swimming layer: 15 to 18 m) over a submerged sea tunnel (sea bottom: about 30 m) rather than another immigration route when the Pacific codes were tagged surgically with an acoustic transmitters and released inside of the Bay. There is a possibility that the Pacific codes and the other fishes use the route on the sea tunnel as an immigration route are affected by a human-generated underwater noise around the sea tunnel due to the sea tunnel traffic. On this study the 25-hour measurements of the underwater noise level by water layer were conducted with a hydrophone attached on a portable CTD and an underwater noise level meter during four seasons, and the acoustical characteristics of the underwater noise was analyzed. The mean traffic volume for one hour at the sea tunnel on the spring was shown the largest value of 1,408 [standard deviation (SD): 855] vehicles among four seasons measurement. The next one was ordered on the autumn [1,145 (SD: 764)], winter [947 (SD: 598)] and summer [931 (SD: 558)] vehicles. Small size vehicle was formed 84.3% of the traffic volume, and ultra-small size, medium size, large size and extra-large size of the vehicle were taken possession of 8.7%, 3.2%, 2.0% and 1.8%, respectively. On the daily change of the noise level in vertical during four seasons the noise level of 5 m-layer was shown the highest value of 121.2 (SD: 3.6) dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$), the next one was 10 m-layer [120.7 (SD: 3.5)], 2 m- and 15 m-layer [120.3 (SD: 3.5 to 3.7)] and 1 m-layer [119.2 (SD: 3.6)] dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$). In relation with the seasonal change of the noise level the average noise level measured during autumn was shown the highest value of 123.9 (SD: 2.6) dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$), the next was during summer [121.4 (SD: 3.2)], spring [118.0 (SD: 3.4)] and winter [116.5 (SD: 5.1)] dB (re $1{\mu}Pa$). In results of eigenray computation when the real bathymetry data (complicate shape of sea bed) was applied the average number of eigenray was 2.68 times (eigenrays: 11.03 rays) higher than those of model bathymetry (flat and slightly sloped sea bottom). When the real bathymetric data toward inside (water depth becomes shallow according to a distance between the source of noise and hydrophone) of the Bay was applied on the eigenrays calculation the number of the eigenray was 1.31 times (eigenrays: 12.49 rays) larger than the real bathymetric data toward outside (water depth becomes deep with respect to the distance). But when the model bathymetric data toward inside of the Bay was applied the number of the eigenray was 1.05 times (eigenrays: 4.21 rays) larger than the model bathymetric data toward outside.

In this research, we measured the number of lanes, distance, disposition of apartment that are affecting the road traffic noise to evaluate the current condition of G city's road traffic noise. We decide on a basis regarding an apartment price formation factor, and the apartment current price and the results that compared. To have a point scale, we set the maximum road traffic noise at a 8 lane road for 5 points, give 4 points for a 6 lane road, which has a $2.1{\sim}2.5\;dB(A)$ difference compared to a 8 lane road, give 3 points for a 4 lane road, which has a $5.2{\sim}5.5\;dB(A)$ difference compared to a 8 lane road, and set 2 points for a 2 lane road and lower. If we set the standard floor plan as horizontal and a living room facing the roadside, the horizontal and living room facing the opposite side of the road is 1 point because it differs by 14.1 dB(A), and the vertical is 3 points since the difference is 5.3 dB(A). If we make grades by the distance, making standard the fifth floor with little soundproof effect from apartment to road, we observe a measurement below 2.9 dB(A) at a distance of less than 10 m and 5 dB(A), decreased at a distance of 20 m. Therefore, 4 points were given for less than 10m, 3 points for $10{\sim}20\;m$, 2 points for more than 20 m as we can apply the effect of a decay distance of line sound source and the decrease in noise effects of more than 6 dB(A), 1 point for more than 40m, and 0 points for more that 80 m since it is negligible. 28 apartments got 0 points because there is no effect of road traffic noise from other apartments, and 50 apartments where only the road at one side effect them got $5{\sim}10$ points. 4 apartments (17-2, 6-3, 10-4, 3-3) received over 20 points. 15 cases showed a difference between developer price and resale price, and 11 cases (73%) among them showed the same trend (price increases with a low road traffic noise restriction factor point) with the point of road traffic noise restriction factor. 4 cases demonstrated the opposite trend, showing price increases with a high restriction factor point. Among the 4 cases, case numbers 2,6 and 9 appear to be more affected by the location factor (business district) than the road traffic noise restriction factor, and case number 1 appears to be affected by the building factor (openness and direction).

In this paper, we propose a ultrasonic and RF-based indoor localization system. In previous work, various systems were proposed for indoor localization, but they have limitation in applicability due to time-synchronization, complexity, or accuracy. To overcome such problems, an indoor localization system with ultrasonic and RF is proposed. A transmitting system is composed of a pair of ultrasonic and RF transmitters and the receiving system is composed of multiple ultrasonic receivers and one RF receiver. The theoretical performance limitation is also analyzed. To verify localization performance, we have implemented a receiving systems and a transmitting system using Arduino modules. Experiments were performed in $2m{\times}2m{\times}2m$ space and the localization errors had a mean of 6.1cm and a standard deviation of 1.6cm.

According to the scale of the 2013 Machina Research 2022 yireundago IoT market it is predicting about $ 1.2 trillion. Also the number of IoT devices connected simultaneously to the 2020 worldwide reached about 2.1 billion, and is expected to require about 200 million communications link. Many of these devices in order to manage and operate them efficiently IEEE 802.15.4e, D2D, Beacon, supporting protocols such as Zigbee gateway and network Connectivity to the urgent need for a proactive response to M2M -based operating convert it to a standard protocol being. This paper supports a variety of devices with different protocols and propose the design of intelligent Gateway with integrated features to manage operations.
In exposuring x-rays, we can adjust three variables of kVp, mA and sec. The kVp is one of main factors affecting x-ray quality -peneterability. And miliampere-seconds is directly proportional to x-ray quantity. In this paper, we detected voltage variation of CdS, II-VI group semiconductor compounds, by kVp as the fundamental experiments of designing x-ray dosimeter. We exposured x-ray on the material from 40 to 100 kVp by increasing 2kVp using Shimadazu TH-500-125 Radio-Tex cx-s x-ray machine. We fixed miliampere -seconds to 100mA and 0.2 sec. After acquiring the raw data, we plotted the graph of kVp and voltage variation and figured slope value of 0.093 by regression. The standard deviation of voltage to kVp was 0.22. For the future study, the mAs variation study will be needed to investigate the connections between kVp and mAs in order to design x-ray dosimeter.
Jundae reservoir has basin area of 234ha, average depth of 3.77m and total storage of $619{\times}10^3m^3$, and is located in Dangin-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. The water quality of Jundae reservoir exceeded the IV grade of water quality standard as available for irrigation water in COD, TN, TP, Chl-a. COD and Chl-a were higher in spring season, because the algal bloom by phytoplankton increased. And the algal blooms in October by inflow non-point pollution during summer rainy season. The most dominant zooplankton was rotifers during study period at all stations. Dominant species were Keratella cochlearis, Polyarthra spp., and Trichocerca spp. We successfully established 2 isolated clone cultures as predator. One is Rotifer, Euchlanis sp. and another is cladocerans, Bosmina sp. To test the removal rate of 2 cultures against Microcystis aeruginosa, we inoculated Euchlanis sp. and Bosmina sp. separately when the abundance reached at $1.0{\times}10^6$cells/ml. Euchlanis sp. removed M. aeruginosa around 98.9% and Bosmina sp. removed it around 98.4%. They are useful grazers for controling algae blooms, Euchlanis sp. and Bosmina sp. feeding on M. aeruginosa highly.

Lead (II) ion selective poly(aniline) solid contact electrode based on Tetramethylthiuram monosulfide ionophore as a sulfur containing sensing material is successfully developed. The electrode exhibits good linear response of 25.6 mV / decade (at $20{\pm}0.2^{\circ}C$, r2=0.995) within the concentration range of $1.0{\times}10^{-1}{\sim}4.0{\times}10^{-7}$ M Pb (II). The composition of this electrode was Ionophore : PVC : dioctylphthalate : potassiumtetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)borate : Oleic acid = 5.0 : 20.0 : 25.0 : 4.0 : 5.0. When we consider the results of using different composition electrodes based on only one potassiumtetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)borate or Oleic acid liphophlic additive, poly(aniline) solid contact electrode based on Tetramethylthiuram monosulfide ionophore with potassiumtetrakis(4-chlorophenyl)borate and Oleic acid liphophlic additive had the best result in response characteristics. The electrode shows good selectivity for lead (II) ion in comparison with alkali, alkaline earth, transition and heavy metal ions. This electrode is suitable for use with aqueous solutions of pH 3.0 ~ 7.0 and their standard deviation in the measured emf differences was ${\pm}2.94$ mV at Tris buffered lead sample solution of $1.0{\times}10^{-2}$ M and ${\pm}2.82$ mV at Tris buffered lead sample solution of $1.0{\times}10^{-3}$ M. Their stabilization time was less than 710 s. and response time was less than 16 s.
PURPOSE. The aim of this in-vitro investigation was to describe the effect of reinforcement with different fibers on impact strength of heat polymerized poly-methyl methacrylate (PMMA) denture base resin and to analyze the effect of surface treatment of the fibers on the impact strength. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The specimens were fabricated from the dies formed as per standard ASTM D4812. 2% by weight of glass, polyethylene and polypropylene fibers were incorporated in the PMMA resin. The Izod impact testing was performed on the unnotched specimens and the values obtained were analyzed using appropriate one way ANOVA, followed by unpaired t-test. Fractured ends of the samples were subjected to the SEM analysis. RESULTS. The polypropylene fibers with plasma treatment showed the highest impact strength ($9.229{\times}10^2$ J/m) followed by the plasma treated polyethylene fibers ($9.096{\times}10^2$ J/m), untreated polypropylene fibers ($8.697{\times}10^2$ J/m), untreated polyethylene fibers ($7.580{\times}10^2$ J/m), silane treated glass fibers ($6.448{\times}10^2$ J/m) and untreated glass fibers ($5.764{\times}10^2$ J/m). Also the surface treatment of all the fibers has shown the significant improvement in impact strength. Findings of the SEM analysis justified the improvement in impact strength after surface treatment. CONCLUSION. Reinforcement with the fiber is an effective method to increase the impact strength of PMMA denture base resin. The surface treatment of fibers further increases the impact strength significantly.

The size characteristics of lead particle which is one of the important factors associated with absorption of lead were ignored in establishing lead standard. This study was conducted to investigate distribution of lead particles by operation of industry. Aerodynamic Mass Median Diameters (MMD) of airborne lead particles in the battery and litharge manufacturing industry were $14.1{\mu}m$ and $15.1{\mu}m$, respectively. There was no significant difference between those two values(p>0.05). However, the diameters in radiator manufacturing and secondary smelting industry were $1.3{\mu}m$, $4.9{\mu}m$, respectively. Those were significantly smaller than the particle sizes in other industries(p<0.05). Total lead concentrations in the secondary smelting industry were higher than those in the battery and litharge manufacturing industry. Total lead concentrations in other industries except radiator manufacturing industry exceeded the standard of $50{\mu}g/m^3$. Only radiator manufacturing industry indicated lead concentrations significantly lower than those in other industries(p<0.05). Concentrations of lead particles smaller than $1{\mu}m$ defined as respirable fraction by OSHA's CPA model assumption were $72.4{\mu}g/m^3$ in the secondary smelting industry, exceeding $50{\mu}g/m^3$. The relationship of concentrations between total lead and lead of particles smaller than $1{\mu}m$ was log Y = 0.46 logX + 0.06(n=119, $r^2=0.44$, p=0.0001). Relationship of respirable lead concentrations between OSHA and ACGIH was significantly detected in the litharge and battery manufacturing industry(p=0.0001), but was not significant in the radiator(p=0.2720) and secondary smelting manufacturing industry(p=0.2394). As MMDs of lead particles generated in industry were small, difference of respirable lead concentration between OSHA and ACGIH became smaller. There was a significant difference between concentrations respirable lead defined by two organizations such as OSHA and ACGIH in the battery and litharge manufacturing industry. Average concentration of respirable lead by ACGIH definition was 43.3 % of total lead in secondary smelting and 48.9 % in radiator manufacturing industry, and lower fractions were indicated in battery and litharge manufacturing industry. Relationships of total lead with IPM, TPM, and RPM were significant respectively(p=0.0001) and lead concentrations by particle size could be estimated using this relationship. Linear regression equation between total lead concentration(X) and ACGIH-RPM concentration(Y) was log Y = 0.76 log X - 0.40($r^2=0.89$, p=0.0001).
