The latest convergence of broadcasting and communication makes the boundary between medias be ambiguous. It pursues the new type of culture that the unspecified many participants seek the satisfaction for the same target in an realtime environment. ARG(Alternative Reality Game) is a new alternate real game created by media convergence and it processes the more realistic interactivity between users through ARS, SMS, BLOG, Cafe and Messages. This paper analyzes the implementation, design, and construction schemes of ARG in the side of the human thinking and media. We also propose the evolution and role of the broadcasting by combining broadcasting for the activation of ARG.

Identification of compounds that function as P-glycoprotein (P-gp) substrates or inhibitors can facilitate the selection and optimization of new drug candidates. The purpose of this study is to optimize the experimental conditions for in vitro P-gp assay using LLC-GA5 cells, which is a well-known transformant cell line derived by transfecting LLC-PK1 with human MDR1. The amount of rhodamine123 transported by the LLC-GA5 and LLC-PK1 cells was evaluated under the following experimental conditions: 3 different types of transport media, colchicine pretreatment or nontreatment of the cells in the culture media, and with and without poly-L-lysine coating of the culture plates. The assay sensitivity was found to considerably differ depending on the diluents used in the transport media. P-gp-mediated transport in LLC-GA5 cells was most clearly characterized in the Hanks' balanced salt solution based transport media. The sensitivity of P-gp-mediated transport was not changed by colchicine pretreatment or poly-L-lysine coating of the culture plates.

In this study, we derive an evaluation structure and 18 Valuation vocabulary for the media facade lighting conditions. In addition, this study deduced the applicable elements that could be applied in time of building nightscape lighting design using media facade by conducting affective evaluation. The research results are as follows: It was found that the image axis of "Dynamic, Colorful" showed the lighting change speed was fast with diverse application of lighting color, and its evaluation object applied by general emphasis, vertical emphasis, partial emphasis lighting method was highly assessed. In addition, it was found that "Luxurious, Unusual" axis showed lighting change speed was slow with the application of lighting color in warm hue series, and its evaluation object applied by line lighting, dot lighting, general emphasis lighting methods was highly assessed. Lastly, it was found that "Soft, Secure" image axis showed the lighting change speed was slow with the application of pastel tone lighting color, and the evaluation object applied by general emphasis lighting method was highly assessed.

In this paper, a robust text detection method based on edge enhanced contrasting extremal region (CER) is proposed using stroke width transform (SWT) and tensor voting. First, the edge enhanced CER extracts a number of covariant regions, which is a stable connected component from input images. Next, SWT is created by the distance map, which is used to eliminate non-text regions. Then, these candidate text regions are verified based on tensor voting, which uses the input center point in the previous step to compute curve salience values. Finally, the connected component grouping is applied to a cluster closed to characters. The proposed method is evaluated with the ICDAR2003 and ICDAR2013 text detection competition datasets and the experiment results show high accuracy compared to previous methods.

This paper describes and suggests the data visualization for real time power system operation based on energy management system. Because real time power system operation performs analysis of the vast amount of on-line data, the operators need intuitive data visualization to find out useful information in the big data. Especially, in emergency situation, the data visualization is able to assist the operators in handling the crisis quickly and efficiently. Therefore, this paper aims to improve displays of output of real time power system operation by visualizing on-line big data. Through this study, we can develop improved visualization technique for real time power system operation, which has highly readable displays of output and intuitive information.

Considerable efforts has been recently devoted to the determination of accurate channel models for the power line environment, both for the indoor and outdoor cases. The common limitation of the known and previously published models is the particular type of approach followed. This paper is concerned with a power line channel characteristic measurement for the more fast and efficiently power line communication experiment. The need arises from the fact that indoor power cables consist of conductors and inductors. A capacitive load simulator is a essential equipment in the power line modem development for indoor power line network. We accomplished a channel data base by the frequency response method about the total 224 capacitor load cases. On the basis of this measurement modeling it is here revealed that the power line communication channel is a more deterministic media.

This research has been performed in order to investigate the probability that cultural factors in everyday life affect individuals' political behaviors. Using the data collected from 2014 Seoul mayoral election, it analyzes how the degree to which individuals have various cultural capital influences their types of political information acquisition through media. The outcomes suggest following three. First, the more cultural capital individuals have, the more active they are in obtaining political information using diverse media. Second, those who mark high score in the self-cognitive area of cultural capital, such as cultural preferences and cultural tastes, tend to gather political information throughout formal news-oriented media such as on-line news, TV, and newspapers. Third, when types of media are classified into old and new, those who have a variety of cultural capital are likely to prefer new media as their major source of political information acquisition.

Purpose: The first-line treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs) should include self-management and education. Self-management techniques include moist heat application, stretching, diet control, and mandibular rest position adjustment. Although the effectiveness of video educational resources has been studied in multiple sectors, their application in TMD management has not yet been explored. This study seeks to assess how effective media education was at motivating TMD patients to self-management and improve symptoms. Methods: Data were obtained from the hospital records of TMD patients who visited the Department of Oral Medicine, Yonsei University Dental Hospital, between May 2020 and December 2021. First, without any differences between groups, a significance analysis was conducted between the degree of self-management and symptom improvement over time. At the second visit, one group received media education (n=31) linked to TMD management, while the other received written-oriented education (n=45). At the third visit, the number of precautions taken by the patients was determined and contrasted to that recorded in the previous visit between the groups. Generalized estimated equation multivariate models were applied for statistical analysis. Results: In the media education group, the frequency of stretching and the number of patients on pain-free diets increased substantially. Taking precautions improved daily pain intensity, maximum mouth opening, and pain intensity during the maximum unassisted opening. Conclusions: Media education could be beneficial for TMD patients because it allows them to take self-management precautions. The symptoms of the media education group improved, with no considerable distinction between both groups.

A characterization procedure for analyzing symmetric coupled MIS(Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor) transmission line is used the same procedure as a general single layer symmetric coupled line with perfect dielectric substrate from the extraction of the characteristic impedance and propagation constant for even- and odd-mode. In this paper, an analysis for a new substrate shielding symmetric coupled MIS structure consisting of grounded crossbar at the interface between Si and SiO2 layer using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method is presented. In order to reduce the substrate effects on the transmission line characteristics, a shielding structure consisting of grounded crossbar lines over time-domain signal has been examined. Symmetric coupled MIS transmission line parameters for even- and odd-mode are investigated as the functions of frequency, and the extracted distributed frequency-dependent transmission line parameters and corresponding equivalent circuit parameters as well as quality factor for the new MIS crossbar embedded structure are also presented. It is shown that the quality factor of the symmetric coupled transmission line can be improved without significant change in the characteristic impedance and effective dielectric constant.
