A Design for Dynamic Line Rating System to increase Overhead Transmission Line Capacities (가공송전선의 송전용량을 증가시키기 위한 동적송전용량 시스템의 설계)

  • Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) techniques have been greatly worthy of notice for efficiently increasing transmission capacity as well as controlling load-flow in overhead transmission lines, in comparison with the existing power system operating with Static Line Rating (SLR). This paper describes an utilization method to implement DLR control system for old transmission lines built in the first stage using the ground clearance design standard with lower dips. The suggested DLR system is focused on designing as temperature control system rather than current/load control system. Based on several performance for conductor temperatures, it is shown that DLR system with efficiency can be implemented.

  • This paper introduces a hybrid induction motor control using a genetically optimized pseudo-on-line method. Optimization results from the use of a look-up table based on genetic algorithms to find the global optimum of a un-constraint optimization problem. The approach to induction motor control includes a pseudo-on-line procedure that optimally estimates parameters of a fuzzy PID (FPID) controller. The proposed hybrid genetic fuzzy PID (GFPID) controller is applied to speed control of a 3-phase induction motor and its computer simulation is carried out. Simulation results show that the proposed controller is performs better than conventional FPID and PID controllers. The contribution of this paper is the introduction of a high performance hybrid form of induction motor control that makes on-line and real-time control of the drive system possible.

  • In this paper, each section of an Electrolytic Tinning Line is mathematically modelled with the coupling effect accounted for. Based on the modelling, PI and feedforward controllers are designed for speed control or tension control of each section of the process line. It is shown through simulatios that the tension of the stip is controlled precisely along the entire line and the contituety of the process is insured when using the efficient control of loop towers.

  • The on-line calculation method is developed to obtain the temperature trajectory that brings the reactants to the desired state in batch styrene polymerization reactor. The temperature trajectory is obtained by applying the moments of the polymer concentration to the 2-step calculation method. The computer simulation is also carried out to verify the superiority of the on-line method to the off-line one. When a temperature disturbance of constant size is introduced, the off-line results shows considerable deviation from the target degree of polymerization. The on-line strategy set up a new trajectory to reach the desired state by using the current state of the reactor. Therefore, the on-line strategy deals with the changes of the system more adequately than the off-line strategy.

  • A technique is presented for evaluating spinal deformity of a human back by extracting a spinal line based on 3-D topograpic reconstruction of the back from its moire image. A given moire image is differentiatedby DOG filter to extract moire stripes. The stripes are then assigned labels and the labels are interpolated by the Lagrange polynomial to yield the undulation of the back which gives a relative 3-D shape of the back. A valley is searched on the undulation near the middle part of the back and the valley line is finally extracted as an approximated spinal line. The mean differenceand the variance between the spinal line and the middle line are calculated and reported. Experiment is performed employing real moire images ofjunior-high school students' backs and some of the results are shown with discussion.

  • In a heating control system, the indoor temperature controller transfers temperature signals inputted from the temperature sensor and the user to the valve controller. The valve controller receives these signals then the valve controller controls the valve driving motor on two position control and controls the indoor temperature. When setting up a new valve driving motor from a long distance it is necessary to set up a new valve controller. But occasionary, due to construction, It is impossible to wire between the existing valve controller and the new valve controller. In this situation, the new and existing valve controllers can communicate via power line communication. In this paper it is proposed heating control system controls on two position control via power line communication.

  • In this study, a robust controller to control pressure in a pneumatic pressure vessel with a long transmission line is proposed. Frequency response of transmission line using compressible fluid is changed by the flowing state of the fluid. So, it a fixed gain controller designed based on a model supposed the flowing state to a specific state, the performance of the control system could be degraded because of the modelling error. The controller designed in this study is composed of two parts. One is a feedback controller to improve a feedback characteristics and to compensate the influence of the variation of transfer characteristics of a transmission line owing to the change of flowing state and the other is a feedforward controller to regulate command fallowing performance. The experimental results with the designed controller show that the robustness of the control system is achieved regardless of the change of the model or the transmission line. Therefore, the designed controller can be utilized for the Performance improvement of a Pressure control system with a long transmission line using compressible fluid.

  • This paper proposes a novel method with pseudo-on-line scheme using the optimized look-up table based on the genetic algorithm which does not use the gradient and finds the global optimum of an un-constraint optimization problem. The technique is a pseudo-on-line method that optimally estimates the parameters of fuzzy PID(FPID) controller for systems with non-linearity, using the genetic algorithm. The proposed controller(GFPID) with the auto-tuning function is applied to the on-line and real-time control of speed at 3-phase induction motor, and its computer simulation is carried out. simulation results show that the proposed methodis more excellent that conventional FPID and PID controllers.

  • PLC (Power Line Communication) is the communication method using the existing power line installed in houses and offices to convert and transmit high frequency communication signal from tens of KHz to tens of MHz, and receive the filtered signal using high frequency filter. The advantage of PLC is that PLC uses the existing power line installed in houses and offices so it does not require separate power line. Easy and convenient access using electric outlets is another advantage of PLC. However, PLC has some disadvantages such as limited transmission power, high load interference and noise, variable signal attenuation, characteristic of impedance selective possibility of frequency property. This study designed the boiler temperature control system by unit using the modem designed on the basis of technology used for PLC modem, and designed remote control system using internet. After conducting experiments with those two systems, it was possible to control stably. By commercializing this product, we can avoid unnecessary heating of separate temperature control unit, and save the cost according1y, and it is possible to control on a remote site using internet in a more convenient way.
