Several records about Hee Kyeong Ru can be found in the old literatures, poetries, pictures and atlases. Also, we can see the shape of the building and the location through the mark in the old map. • Thymolipoma is a rare benign mediastinal tumor, composed of mature fatty and thymic tissues. A 9-year-old boy was referred with a one-month history of neck swelling. Preoperative computed tomography scan and fine needle aspiration biopsy suggested thymolipoma. Despite it being rare, thymolipoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of mediastinal tumors. Characteristics of its clinical feature and radiological findings that can differentiated it from other mediastinal tumors are discussed with a review of the literatures.

  • Human sparganosis caused by Sparganum mansoni, the larval plerocercoid worm of the genus Spirometra, is not uncommon in Korea and is mostly found in subcutaneous or adipose tissue of the abdominal, thoracic wall and inguinal region, but is rarely found in the orbital cavity, brain and breast. It, at present, is a surgical disease because its diagnosis depends almost on the demonstration of the larva[e] from lesion or finding the worm section in surgical pathology specimens. We experienced a case of human sparganosis from a 48 years old woman who had a history of eating a raw frog. We report the case and review the related literatures.

  • It is known that an interesting and unusual axillary artery thrombosis may develop over a period of time if an improperly adjusted crutch impinges repeatedly on the axilla. A 39 year-old male developed occlusion of left axillary artery and gangrenes of the left fingers after he had used axillary crutch for 25 years because of limping of the left leg resulting from poliomyelitis. The left hand was salvaged by successful thrombectomy. We report this case, review and discuss the literatures.

  • Isolated bronchogenic cysts of the diaphragm are rare abnormalities. They are usually asymptomatic unless secondarily infected or large enough to cause compression of vital structures. The patient was a 31-year-old man and had no symptoms except mild postprandial epigastric discomfort. The chest X-ray and chest C-T examination revealed a mediastinal mass at the left cardio-vertebro-phrenic angle. We performed the operation under the impression of solid mass at mediastinum. We revealed that the mass was bronchogenic cyst in diaphragm. Therefore we report this case with review of literatures.
