충돌안전도 해석을 위한 유아 인체모델 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on the 3Yr. old child human model for crashworthiness simulation)

  • Airbag systems have improved the occupant safety in reducing the injuries of driver and passenger during collisions. They have occasionally caused fatalities; especially to small occupant and children. Recent airbag related fatalities of children have raised serious concerns on how to evaluate the safety of children in various crash environments. This paper present the development of the 3-year-old human model. Child human model is composed of skin, skeleton and joints. The positions of joint and mass properties of body segments are calculated from ARB(Ariticulated Rigid Body) program GEBOD. To verify the developed human model, ROM simulation and OOP simulations are conducted.

Topology Optimization of a HDD Actuator Arm

  • A study on the topology optimization of a Hard-Disk-Driver(HDD) actuator arm is presented. The purpose of the present wert is to increase the natural frequency of tole first lateral mode of the HDD actuator arm under the constraint of total moment of inertia, so as to facilitate the position control of the high speed actuator arm. The first lateral mode is an important factor in the position control process. Thus the topology optimization for 2-D model of the HDD actuator arm is considered. A new objective function corresponding to multieigenvalue optimization is suggested to improve the solution of the eigenvalue optimization problem. The material density of the structure is treated as the design variable and the intermediate density is penalized. The effects of different element types and material property functions on the final topology are studied. When the problem is discretized using 8-node element of a uniform density, tole smoothly-varying density field is obtained without checker-board patterns incurred. AS a result of 7he study, an improved design of the HDD actuator arm is suggested. Dynamic characteristics of the suggested design are compared computationally with those of the old design. With the same amount of the moment of inertia, the natural frequency of the first lateral mode of the suggested design is subsequently increased over the existing one.

운전 수행에서 판단의 정확성에 미치는 연령의 효과: 운전 시뮬레이션 연구 (Effect of Age on Judgment in Driving: A Simulation Study)

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the age difference in driving behavior(more specifically, left-turn). The participants were instructed to report whether they can turn left their car in the T-shape road(road and other vehicles' behavior relating to driver's tasks were recorded in advance and projected the simulation screen) after the leading vehicle passed them(i.e., before the target vehicle arrived). The participants' judgment accuracy and response bias were analyzed by using signal detection theory. The results showed that the old group tended to be less sensitive but more confident in their judgement of turning left their car. In particular, both age groups appeared to more depend on the distance from observation location to approaching vehicle rather than arrival times or driving speeds of the approaching vehicle.

로짓모델을 이용한 고령운전자 고속도로 교통사고 특성 분석 연구 (The Analysis of Older Driver's Traffic Accident Characteristic at Express-way using Logit model)

  • 고령화가 진행될수록 고령운전자의 수 역시 증가될 것으로 예상되어 향후 고령운전자에 의한 교통사고는 급증할 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구는 고속도로 교통사고 발생시 고령층과 비고령층의 구분에 따른 교통사고 특성을 분석하였다. 분석결과 비고령층에 비해 고령층에 작용하는 영향요인이 다르게 나타남을 알 수 있었다. 로짓모형을 통해 비고령층과 고령층의 Odds Ratio를 분석하여 사고영향요인에 따른 차이점을 알아보았으며 고령운전자의 사고 분석 모형을 개발하였다. 비고령층에 비해 곡선구간 및 절토구간, 노면의 습기상태일 때 고령운전자의 사고위험이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

Clinical Features of Lung Cancer in Japanese Patients Aged Under 50

  • The proportion of lung cancer patients under 50 years old is small at approximately 5-10%, but as with patients older than 50, the number is on the rise. Although lung cancer treatment strategies have undergone extensive transformation in recent years based on the presence or absence of oncogenic driver mutations, there are few reports regarding these mutations in the young or the relationship between clinical setting and prognosis. Therefore, we conducted a study of clinical features in 36 patients under the age of 50 who were diagnosed with primary lung cancer from October 2008 to November 2015. The 22 patients in stages I through III A underwent operations, and all 17 whose lung cancer were detected through screening were candidates for surgery. Gene analysis was conducted for 26 (72.2%); 10 (38.5%) were positive for EGFR gene mutations, and ALK gene translocation was present in 4 (15.4%). In stage IV patients, the median progression free survival (PFS) in the ALK translocation positive and negative patients was 518 days and 130 days, respectively, and the median overall survival (OS) was not reached and 280 days, respectively. A trend toward extended PFS (p=0.203) and OS (p=0.056) was observed in patients positive for ALK translocation. We must strive for early detection by increasing screening rates and evaluate oncogenic driver mutations important for prognosis of lung cancer in the young.

교통사고 위험그룹 및 사고유형별 심각도 결정 연구 - 서울시 중심 - (The Determination of Risk Group and Severity by Traffic Accidents Types - Focusing on Seoul City -)

  • 본 연구는 교통사고의 발생 유형과 교통사고 심각도(Severity)와의 관계를 규명함으로써 위험유형을 제시하고, 운전자 특성과 교통사고의 관계를 규명하고자 하였다. 교통사고 유형을 여덟 가지로 세분하고, 결과의 객관성 확보를 위해 안전벨트 착용여부를 추가하여 상해정도와의 관계를 분석하였으며, 위험그룹의 분류를 위한 운전자의 특성은 성별, 차종, 연령 등을 대상으로 하였다. 카테고리 자료의 분석을 위하여 로그-선형 모형 및 로짓 모형을 사용하였다. 분석결과 사고유형과 심각도와의 관계에서는 정면충돌 사고와 앞지르기시, 우회전시 사고가 부상 또는 사망사고에 연루될 가능성이 높았다. 위험그룹 분석에서는 20세 미만의 이륜차 운전자, 41세에서 50세까지의 택시 운전자가 가장 위험한 집단으로 분석되었으며 또한 남자보다는 여자가 승용차와 중형화물 등에 관계되었을 때 더 위험한 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 교통사고 발생시 인명 피해를 줄이기 위해서는 정면충돌 사고와 앞지르기시, 우회전시 발생하는 사고를 줄일 수 있는 방안이 연구되어야 하고, 교통사고 취약계층으로 분석된 위험그룹에 대한 교통안전 교육 및 단속이 강화되어야 할 것이다.

도로위험도를 평가하는 요구/노력모형의 신뢰도 향상을 위한 신경망 모형 개발 (The Development of Neural Network Model to Improve the Reliability of the Demand/Effort Model for Evaluating Highway Safety)

  • 도로환경요인과 운전자의 능력의 부조화상태에서 교통사고 위험성이 높아진다는 개념으로부터 도로위험수준을 평가를 하고자 하는 것이 요구-노력모형이다. 본 연구에서는 요구-노력모형의 노력수준을 결정하는 운전자 생체신호의 재분석을 통하여 요구-노력모형의 신뢰성을 높일 수 있는 새로운 신경망 모형구조를 제안하였다. 영동, 호남 및 서해안고속도로에서 149명의 피실험자를 대상으로 검증한 연구결과는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 첫째, 생체신호 파라메타 값에 대하여 Normality Test, Cluster Analysis와 Mann-Whitney 분석에서 기존 요구-노력 모형에서 사용하던 10개의 생체신호 중 5개의 생체신호만이 통계적으로 유의함을 입증하였다. 둘째, 신경망모형은 운전자의 노력수준의 평가에 대한 정확도는 매우 높게 나타났다. 신경망구축을 위해 사용한 집단1의 피실험자별 전체 노력수준의 정확도는 80.0%, 집단 2의 피실험자별 전체 노력수준의 정확도가 74.3%로 나타났다. 셋째, 요구-노력모형에서 노력수준 경계값 결정방법에 따라 호남고속도로 전주IC${\rightarrow}$회덕JCT구간의 단위분석지점에 대하여 도로위험도를 판별한 결과, 2종 오류가 신경망모형 40.5%, 기존 모형 58.8%로 나타났다. 요구-노력모형에 의한 도로위험도 평가가 최종적이기 보다는 전문가 그룹에 의한 상세한 도로안전진단에 앞서 도로위험도를 대략적으로 판별하고자 하는 의도였다고 한다면 보다 많은 검토대상구간을 판별하고, 더 낮은 2종 오류비율을 보인 신경망을 이용한 방법이 요구-노력모형의 취지에 적합하다고 볼 수 있다.

승객보호용 랩을 적용한 저위험성 조수석 에어백의 미국 연방 자동차안전 기준법규에 의거한 시험과 평가 (Test and Evaluation based on Standard Regulation of USA Federal Automotive Safety of Assistant Driver's Seat Airbag at Low Risk Deployment Passenger Airbag using Passenger Protection Wrap)

  • The airbag is a widely accepted device for occupant protection in the automotive industry. As the injuries induced by airbag deployment have become a critical issue, revisions to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 208 were required to create advanced airbags that can protect occupants of varying statures. In this paper, we developed a new low-risk deployment passenger airbag by adding the Passenger Protection Wrap (PPW). The PPW reduces the cushion impact force to the occupant in order to ensure pressure dispersion. A series of tests were conducted by using FMVSS 208 test procedures to demonstrate the proposed system. It was found that the system not only satisfied the injury criteria of FMVSS 208 but was also effective for protecting passengers of all sizes (male, small female, 3-year-old, 6-year-old).

Factors Influencing Life-Long Learning: An Empirical Study of Young People in Vietnam

  • This study, not only investigates the important role of lifelong learning in shaping young people's knowledge and in maximizing their potential, but also aims to shed light on the influencing factors of lifelong learning of young people in Vietnam. The author applied STATA and SPSS to analyze quantitative data collected from questionnaires with 332 respondents aged between 19 years old and 24 years old. Based on a holistic review of literature, this study concludes that four driver factors affect young people's lifelong learning ability, comprising: organizational culture, motivation, human resource development, and domestic private type of enterprise. The results emphasize the positivity of organizational culture, human resource development, and the nature of work, especially organizational culture and human resource development, which are dominant reasons for young people to maintain lifelong learning. The relationship between demographics and lifelong learning was tested and it indicated that male has a stronger interest in learning than female. The result of the study also shows the impact of different types of business sectors on employees' learning intentions. It points out that the domestic private type of enterprise is the most effective factor that has a positive relationship with the lifelong learning of the individual.
