The purpose of this study was undertaken to determine the analysis of normal values of height of palpebral fissure and Hertel exophthalmometry in Korean woman university students. These measurements were taken from 118 health subjects aged 18-21 years in Korea. In 18-21 years, the mean values of height of palpebral fissure were $6.967{\pm}1.599mm$, $7.172{\pm}1.502mm$, $8.015{\pm}1.44mm$ and $7.1{\pm}1.224mm$, respectively. However, In 18-21 years, the mean values of protrusion were $12.50{\pm}2.33mm$, $12.343{\pm}2.634mm$, $12.773{\pm}1.974mm$ and $13.036{\pm}2.23mm$, respectively. As a results, according to increase the aging, the palpebral fissure height and ocular protrusion was more increase. But in 21 ages the palpebral fissure was some decrease. Also in 19 ages the protrusion was some decrease. On the other hand, the right and left eye have not statistically significant.

A 10-year-old, intact female Yorkshire terrier was presented with right side facial swelling for 3 days and periocular swelling had progressed over the last 24 hours. On physical examination, periocular and infraorbital swelling were observed around right maxillary region. Severe ocular discharge and protrusion of the 3rd eyelid were observed. The patient was diagnosed as periapical abscess around the root of right upper first molar based on the skull radiography. Affected tooth was extracted using closed technique. Systemic corticosteroid and antibiotic were administrated and topical corticosteroid/antibiotic combination was applied to the right eye six times a day for 10 days. Ten days after tooth extraction, clinical signs were disappeared completely.

Horner's syndrome is a group of clinical signs that results from interference with the sympathetic innervation of the globe and adnexa. Three dogs were presented with unilateral ptosis, miosis, enophthalmos and protrusion of the third eyelid. There were no other clinical signs on physical and neurological examination. On ophthalmic examination, the symptomatic eyes were diagnosed as Horner's syndrome. In order to localize the site of the lesion, pharmacological testing was performed through assessment of ocular response to the topical administration of 10% phenylephrine and clinical signs were resolved within 20 minutes. The pharmacological testing suggested that the deficit could be at the postganglionic neuron. Total resolution of clinical signs was observed within 6 months after their initial appearance without any treatment.

A 10-year-old spayed female beagle dog presented with a 2-month history of third-eyelid elevation in the left eye (OS). Ophthalmic examination revealed slightly diminished corneal and palpebral reflexes along with exophthalmos in the OS. Schirmer's tear test and intraocular pressure values were within the normal range for the OS. Slit-lamp biomicroscopy revealed protrusion of the third eyelid and corneal opacity in the OS. Fundoscopy revealed a prominent black mass in the OS covering the optic nerve. Tapetal hyper-reflectivity was also observed around the mass. Ocular ultrasonography showed a 0.74 × 0.67 cm echogenic posterior segment mass around the optic nerve protruding into the retrobulbar space. Computed tomography revealed a contrast-enhanced soft tissue lesion in the posteromedial aspect of the left eyeball protruding into the retrobulbar region, and the optic nerve was suspected to be involved. No evidence of osteolytic changes in the adjacent bone or distant metastasis was observed. Enucleation was performed to prevent potential metastasis or local invasion of the mass and to relieve discomfort due to exposure to keratopathy resulting from lagophthalmos. Histopathological examination revealed a central choroidal melanocytoma extending into the optic nerve. No local recurrence was detected until 16 months postoperatively.

A about 2-month- old, mixed female cat was referred to Yeon Chang Veterinaly Clinic in Taiwan. Because this patient was wandering cat, precise history was not blown. At first admission, miosis, ptosis and protrusion of the nictitating membrane was observed in the right sided eye, and also slight miosis was found in the left sided eye. The patient was diagnosed into feline HS. Oculo-AP and injection-AP with dexamethasone were applied to this patient. Oculo-AP at Shang Jiao regions of both eyes was done for 10 minutes. In addition, injection-AP with dexamethasone (0.2 ml/acupoint) at BL01-Jing Ming, BL02-Zan Zhu and ST01-Cheng Qi. After AP treatment, prolapse of the nictitating membrane was amazingly disappeared and pupil was dilatated at session 1. Ocular findings at session 2 (one day after session 1) were maintained with nearly normal state. Accordingly, the present patient was a case with feline HS that showed favorable therapeutic effect by AP treatment.
