Fast image stitching method for handling dynamic object problems in Panoramic Images

  • The construction of panoramic images on smartphones and low-powered devices is a challenging task. In this paper, we propose a new approach for smoothly stitching images on mobile phones in the presence of moving objects in the scene. Our main contributions include handling moving object problems, reducing processing time, and generating rectangular panoramic images. First, unique and robust feature points are extracted using fast ORB method and a feature matching technique is applied to match the extracted feature points. After obtaining good matched feature points, we employ the non-deterministic RANSAC algorithm to discard wrong matches, and the hommography transformation matrix parameters are estimated with the algorithm. Afterward, we determine precise overlap regions of neighboring images and calculate their absolute differences. Then, thresholding operation and noise removal filtering are applied to create a mask of possible moving object regions. Sequentially, an optimal seam is estimated using dynamic programming algorithm, and a combination of linear blending with the mask information is applied to avoid seam transition and ghosting artifacts. Finally, image-cropping operation is utilized to obtain a rectangular boundary image from the stitched image. Experiments demonstrate that our method is able to produce panoramic images quickly despite the existence of moving objects.

희소성 표현 기반 객체 추적에서의 표류 처리 (Drift Handling in Object Tracking by Sparse Representations)

  • 본 논문에서는 희소성 표현을 기반으로 하는 객체 추적 방법에 있어서 객체 표류 현상을 처리하기 위한 새로운 방법을 제시한다. 그중에서도 APG-L1 (accelerated proximal gradient L1) 방법은 희소성 표현이란 객체의 외형을 표현하기 위한 목표 템플릿(target template)과 배경이나 폐색(occlusion)과 같은 객체 이외의 부분을 대체하기 위한 기본 템플릿(trivial template)를 이용하여 입력 영상을 표현하는 방법이다. 또한 어파인 변환행렬을 이용한 particle filtering 이 적용되어 객체의 위치를 찾고 APG 방법을 사용하여 희소성기반의 L1-norm을 최소화한다. 본 논문에서는 객체추적의 표류현상을 방지하기 위하여 기본 템플릿의 계수를 활용하여 배경을 가진 객체가 채택되는 현상을 방지하는 방법을 제시한다. 다양한 영상에 적용하여 제안하는 방법을 실험한 결과, 기존의 방법들과 비교하여 높은 성과를 보인다.

  • Recently, the demand for more precise and demand-oriented customized spatial information is increasing due to the 4th industrial revolution. In particular, the use of 3D spatial information and digital twins which based on spatial information, and research for solving social problems in cities by using such information are continuously conducted. Globally, non-face-to-face services are increasing due to COVID-19, and the national policy direction is also rapidly progressing digital transformation, digitization and virtualization of the Korean version of the New Deal, which means that 3D spatial information has become an important factor to support it. In this study, physical objects for cities defined by world organizations such as ISO, OGC, and ITU were selected and the target of the 3D object model was limited to buildings. Based on CityGML2.0, the data collected using a drone suitable for building a 3D model of a small area is selected to be updated through road name address and building ledger, which are administrative information related to this, and LoD2.5 data is constructed and urban space. It was intended to suggest an object update method for a 3D building among data.

변형 Karhunen-Loeve 변환의 수리형태학적 의미와 칼라 영상처리에의 응용 (Morphological Interpretation of Modified Karhunen-Loeve Transformation and Its Applications to Color Image Processing)

  • 대상물체와 배경으로 이루어진 다변수 신호를 분리시키기 위한 변환 기법의 하나로 두 샘플 공분산 행렬의 정규화 후 동시 대각화를 이용한 변형된 Karhunen-Loeve 변환 기법이 제안되었다. 두 클래스간의 샘플 공분산비를 최대화함으로써 국소적 데이터 구조를 분리하는 이 변환 기법은 수리형태학적 연산자를 비롯한 인접 화소 연산자를 사용하는 다변수 영상처리 알고리듬의 전처리 변환으로 유망한 기법이라는 것을 보였다. 제안된 기법이 가지는 분리성은 수리형태학적 패턴 스펙트럼에 근거하여 제안된 measure인 ‘평균높이’의 개념과 관련시켜 해석하였다. 그리고 변환 기법에 대한 실용적인 구현 알고리듬과 이론적인 결과를 모의실험을 통하여 확인하였다.

소화장(昭和莊)의 현황과 평면변용 특성 연구 (A Study on Sowhajang's Present Condition and Plan Transformation Characteristics)

  • 'Sohawjang' is the first apartment house built in Busan the modern period, 1944. 'Sohawjang' needs to be apprised its value as an very important object of study with architectural and dwelling historic meaning because multi-family houses built in Japanese Rule Era that now exist in Korea are very rare. Thus, this study attempted to leave records to archive by conducting face to face interviews and surveying on 'Sohawjang' which is seriously in danger of extinction and its original form damage as the first step. Especially, around Korea's Liberation, this study tried to extract transformation characteristics of residential space and cultural differences appeared on differences of occupants having different nationality. Through these results, this study attempted to examine the era of apartment house and transformation characteristics and values of modern dwelling historic dimension according to changes of users appeared in Busan modern period. Through this study, it offers basic data about introduction and transition processes of an apartment house in Korea. It has an meaning of suggestion reference data for original form preservations or regenerations.

배경의 특징 추적을 이용한 물체의 이동 거리 추정 및 정확도 평가 (A Distance Estimation Method of Object′s Motion by Tracking Field Features and A Quantitative Evaluation of The Estimation Accuracy)

  • This paper describes a distance estimation method of object's motion in soccer image sequence by tracking field features. And we quantitatively evaluate the estimation accuracy We suppose that the input image sequence is taken with a camera on static axis and includes only zooming and panning transformation between frames. Adaptive template matching is adopted for non-rigid object tracking. For background compensation, feature templates selected from reference frame image are matched in following frames and the matched feature point pairs are used in computing Affine motion parameters. A perspective displacement field model is used for estimating the real distance between two position on Input Image. To quantitatively evaluate the accuracy of the estimation, we synthesized a 3 dimensional virtual stadium with graphic tools and experimented on the synthesized 2 dimensional image sequences. The experiment shows that the average of the error between the actual moving distance and the estimated distance is 1.84%.

DTM Generation and Buildings Detection Using LIDAR Data

  • In this paper we propose a scheme to generate DTM and detect buildings on DSM generated from LIDAR data. Two stages are performed. The first stage is to perform object segmentation by using two morphology operations namely, flattening and H-Dome transformation. After filtering out the object points above the ground, we used the non-object points to generate DTM. The second stage is to detect buildings from the objects by analyzing differential slopes. The test data is in raster form with 1m spacing around Hsin-Chu Scientific Area in Taiwan. The mean error is -0.16m and the RMSE is 0.45m for DTM generation. The successful rate for building detection is 87.7%.

Z/Object-Z 사용한 2+1 View 통합 메타모델의 정형 명세와 명확성 검사 (A Formal Specification and Accuracy Checking of 2+1 View Integrated Metamodel Using Z and Object-Z)

  • 시각적인 클래스 모델로 기 제시된 2+1 View 통합 메타모델은 비정형적인 명세에 기인하여 명확하게 모델의 구문을 표현하지 못하고 있으며, 또한 그 모델의 정확성을 보장할 수 없다. 본 논문은 Z와 Object-Z를 사용해서 2+1 View 통합 메타모델의 구문적 의미를 정형적으로 명세하고, Z/Eves 툴을 통해 메타모델의 정확성을 검사하는 것이다. 정형 명세는 클래스 모델과 Z/Object-Z간의 변환규칙을 적용해서 2+1 View 통합 메타모델의 구문과 정적 시멘틱에 대해 Z와 Object-Z 스키마로 각각 표현한다. 메타모델의 검사는 Z 스키마 명세에 대해 Z/Eves 도구를 사용하여 구문, 타입 검사 그리고 도메인 검사를 수행하여 메타모델의 정확성을 입증한다. 이로서, 2+1 View 통합 메타모델 메타모델의 Z/Object-Z 변환을 통해 구조물의 구문적 의미를 명확하게 표현할 수 있으며, 또한 그 메타모델의 정확성을 검사할 수 있다.

  • Major deficiencies of current automation scheme including various robots for bioproduction include the lack of task adaptability and real time processing, low job performance for diverse tasks, and the lack of robustness of take results, high system cost, failure of the credit from the operator, and so on. This paper proposed a scheme that could solve the current limitation of task abilities of conventional computer controlled automatic system. The proposed scheme is the man-machine hybrid automation via tele-operation which can handle various bioproduction processes. And it was classified into two categories. One category was the efficient task sharing between operator and CCM(computer controlled machine). The other was the efficient interface between operator and CCM. To realize the proposed concept, task of the object identification and extraction of 3D coordinate of an object was selected. 3D coordinate information was obtained from camera calibration using camera as a measurement device. Two stereo images were obtained by moving a camera certain distance in horizontal direction normal to focal axis and by acquiring two images at different locations. Transformation matrix for camera calibration was obtained via least square error approach using specified 6 known pairs of data points in 2D image and 3D world space. 3D world coordinate was obtained from two sets of image pixel coordinates of both camera images with calibrated transformation matrix. As an interface system between operator and CCM, a touch pad screen mounted on the monitor and remotely captured imaging system were used. Object indication was done by the operator’s finger touch to the captured image using the touch pad screen. A certain size of local image processing area was specified after the touch was made. And image processing was performed with the specified local area to extract desired features of the object. An MS Windows based interface software was developed using Visual C++6.0. The software was developed with four modules such as remote image acquisiton module, task command module, local image processing module and 3D coordinate extraction module. Proposed scheme shoed the feasibility of real time processing, robust and precise object identification, and adaptability of various job and environments though selected sample tasks.

캐릭터 객체의 변환을 이용하는 입체 동영상 콘텐츠 제작 (Producing Stereoscopic Video Contents Using Transformation of Character Objects)

  • 3D 디스플레이의 급격한 공급으로 다양한 3D 입체 콘텐츠의 제작이 요구되고 있다. 3D 콘텐츠의 제작 방법으로는 일반적으로 스테레오 카메라로 입체물을 제작할 수 있지만, 기존 2D 콘텐츠에서 입체영상물을 제작하는 기법도 중요한 기술이다. 이러한 2D 콘텐츠의 변환작업을 통한 3D 영상물 제작은 3D 변환 분야에서 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 단순히 한 장의 영상을 3D로 변환하는 것은 콘텐츠의 실감을 전달하지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 2D 영상에 존재하는 객체에 생명력을 불어넣어, 그림속이 객체가 살아나 움직이는 새로운 애니메이션 콘텐츠 제작 방법을 제안한다. 또한 3D 디스플레이에서 시청이 가능하도록 입체영상으로 제작된다. 입력영상이 주어지면 배경영상, 전경객체 마스크, 배경 깊이맵, 객체 깊이맵을 생성한다. 각 전경객체의 이동, 회전, 및 줌을 통해 생동감있는 객체를 구현하며, 변환된 객체의 깊이맵 및 배경영상을 이용하여 실감있는 입체영상을 제작한다. 실험영상은 신윤복의 단오풍정 및 픽사의 애니메이션 UP의 클립영상을 이용하여 3D 입체영상으로 구현하였다.
