Association between Object and Sonar Target for Post Analysis of Submarine Engaged Warfare Simulation (잠수함 교전 시뮬레이션의 사후분석을 위한 객체와 소나 표적간의 연관 기법)

  • We propose a method to generate the object-target identifier mapping information for system performance and effectiveness analysis of submarine engage system and verify the validity of the proposed method through experiments. In the submarine model of the engage simulator, the signal processing algorithm of the actual sonar system is installed. In the target information obtained through the sonar or signal processing process, the actual object information is not known, and the simulator does not provide such information. Therefore, in this study, we generated identifier mapping information for simulation post-analysis by using bearing, range, and speed of the target obtaind from sonar signal processing and the object collected.

A Study on Application of Illumination Models for Color Constancy of Objects (객체의 색상 항등성을 위한 조명 모델 응용에 관한 연구)

  • Color in an image is determined by illuminant and surface reflectance. So, to recover unique color of object, estimation of exact illuminant is needed. In this study, the illumination models suggested to get the object color constancy with the physical illumination model based on physical phenomena. Their characteristics and application limits are presented and the necessity of an extended illumination model is suggested to get more appropriate object colors recovered. The extended illumination model should contain an additional term for the ambient light in order to account for spatial variance of illumination in object images. Its necessity is verified through an experiment under simple lighting environment in this study. Finally, a reconstruction method for recovering input images under standard white light illumination is experimented and an useful method for computing object color reflectivity is suggested and experimented which can be induced from combination of the existing illumination models.

  • Intranet emerges as a key technology for building enterprise information system. This paper proposes a scenario-based object- oriented technique for designing intranet hypermedia information systems. The method consists of six phases such as domain analysis, object modeling, view design, navigational design, implementation design and construction. Users requirements are analyzed in the form of scenarios by the use fo a responsibility-driven object technology. Object-oriented views are generated from the resulting object model and then used for the subsequent navigational and implementation design. Implementation design phase deals integrating enterprise databases with distributed hypermedia systems by employing Java language. To demonstrate its usefulness, a real-life bank case is illustrated.

3D motion estimation using multisensor data fusion (센서융합을 이용한 3차원 물체의 동작 예측)

  • This article presents an approach to estimate the general 3D motion of a polyhedral object using multiple, sensory data some of which may not provide sufficient information for the estimation of object motion. Motion can be estimated continuously from each sensor through the analysis of the instantaneous state of an object. We have introduced a method based on Moore-Penrose pseudo-inverse theory to estimate the instantaneous state of an object. A linear feedback estimation algorithm is discussed to estimate the object 3D motion. Then, the motion estimated from each sensor is fused to provide more accurate and reliable information about the motion of an unknown object. The techniques of multisensor data fusion can be categorized into three methods: averaging, decision, and guiding. We present a fusion algorithm which combines averaging and decision.

  • This study proposes evaluation dimensions of object-oriented systems modelling tools and activities available in object-oriented systems development practices. The dimensions ale developed based on previous research in cognitive psychology, information systems modeling study, and object-oriented systems analysis arid design areas. The proposed dimension is composed of two dimensions. The one dimension includes abstraction levels of modelling and the other includes process and representation in modeling activities. Experts on object-oriented modeling were selected to evaluate the practical validity of the proposed dimensions and applications of major object-oriented modeling tools during systems development project. Most of the tools were observed to be used for representing objects rather than for modeling the process of related objects. The proposed modeling dimension will be evaluated for acquiring general validity in future empirical research.

  • This paper presents a new signature and Fourier descriptor based algorithm for recognizing a rotated object and its rotation angle. Fourier descriptor is used to represent an object using its frequence parameters which are not influenced by rotation. once the object is recognized, the point with the largest auto-correlation coefficient which can be calculated from signature of the object is used to find angle of the object. The outstanding performance of the proposed algorithm has been tested with the test images where more than 10 2D objects arbitrarily located on a table.

An Expert System for Content-based Image Retrieval with Object Database (객체 데이터베이스를 이용한 내용기반 이미지 검색 전문가 시스템)

  • In this paper we propose an expert system for content-based image retrieval with object database. The proposed system finds keyword by using knowledge-base and feature of extracted object, and retrieves image by using keyword based image retrieval method. The system can decrease error of image retrieval and save running time. The system also checks whether similar objects exist or not. If not, user can store information of object in object database. Proposed system is flexible and extensible, enabling experts to incrementally add more knowledge and information. Experimental results show that the proposed system is more effective than existing content-based image retrieval method in running time and precision.

  • A realization for moving object detecting and tracking system in two dimensional plane using stereo line CCDs and lighting source is presented in this paper. Instead of processing camera images directly, two line CCD sensor and input line image is used to measure two dimensional distance by comparing the brightness on line CCDs. The algorithms are used the moving object tracking and coordinate converting method. To ensure the effective detection of moving path, a detection algorithm to evaluate the reliability of each measured distance is developed. The realized system results are that the performance of moving object recognizing shows 5mm resolution and mean error is 1.89%, and enables to track a moving path of object per 100ms period.

  • This paper addresses the design of object distribution in distributed object-oriented databases. The proposed strategy of object distribution consists of two-step design of fragments. One step is class fragmentation and the other is allocation of fragments. We define partitioning algorithms to reflect the characteristics of object-oriented databases in the class fragmentation and define expressions to reduce the amount of data transfer by allocating fragments of other classes referred together to one site in the allocation of fragments

  • 대규모 분산 데이터베이스 시스템을 구축하는데 있어 CORBA와 DBMS의 연동은 필수적이다. 특히 개방 분산 환경에서 기존 시스템 통합시 관계형 데이터베이스의 접근 문제를 해결해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 ORB 컴포넌트중의 하나인 BOA(Basic Object Adapter)를 확장하여 관계형 데이터베이스의 연동을 지원하는 관계 데이터베이스용 객체 어댑터(Relational Object Data base Adapter: RODA)의 구현과 이를 이용한 응용 개발에 관한 내용을 기술한다. 객체-관계 사상은 Tie 방식과 객체 포장기(Object Wrapper)를 사용하여 CORBA 객체와 튜플을 일대일 대응시켰다. RODA 는 CORBA 지속성 객체의 생성, 데이터베이스 객체의 생성, 지속성 객체의 해지 등과 같은 ODA(Object Data base Adapter)가 가지는 주요 기능 뿐 아니라 관계형 데이터베이스의 객체 포장 기능을 제공한다. 이를 통해 개발자 측면에서는 RODA클래스 라이브러리를 이용하여 소프트웨어 개발 생산성을 향상시킬 수 있고, 분산 응용에서 객체지향적 DB통합시 사용자에게 단일한 정보 처리 인터페이스를 제공하는 요소 기술로 활용할 수 있다.
