Object motion is an important feature of content in video sequences. By now, various methods to exact feature about the object motion have been reported[1,2]. However they are not suitable to index video using the motion, since a lot of bits and complex indexing parameters are needed for the indexing [3,4] In this paper, we propose object motion map which could provide efficient indexing method for object motion. The proposed object motion map has both global and local motion information during an object is moving. Furthermore, it requires small bit of memory for the indexing. to evaluate performance of proposed indexing technique, experiments are performed with video database consisting of MPEG-1 video sequence in MPEG-7 test set.

Recently, surveillance systems are widely used, and one of the key technologies in this surveillance system is to recognize and track objects. In order to track a moving object robustly and efficiently in a complex environment, it is necessary to extract the feature points in the interesting object and to track the object using the feature points. In this paper, we propose a method to track interesting objects in real time by eliminating unnecessary information from objects, generating feature point descriptors using only key feature points, and reducing computational complexity for object recognition. Experimental results show that the proposed method is faster and more robust than conventional methods, and can accurately track objects in various environments.

In this paper, a fast information extraction algorithm for object-based MPEG-4 application from MPEG-2 bit-steam is proposed. For object-based MPEG-4 conversion, we need to extract such information as object-image, shape-image, macro-block motion vector, and header information from MPEG-2 bit-stream. If we use the extracted information, fast conversion for object-based MPEG-4 is possible. The proposed object extraction algorithm has two important steps, namely the motion vectors extraction from MPEG-2 bit-stream and the watershed algorithm. The algorithm extracts objects using user\`s assistance in the intra frame and tracks then in the following inter frames. If we have an unsatisfactory result for a fast moving object, the user can intervene to correct the segmentation. The proposed algorithm consist of two steps, which are intra frame object extracts processing and inter frame tracking processing. Object extracting process is the step in which user extracts a semantic object directly by using the block classification and watersheds. Object tacking process is the step of the following the object in the subsequent frames. It is based on the boundary fitting method using motion vector, object-mask, and modified watersheds. Experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve a fast conversion from the MPEG-2 bit-stream to the object-based MPEG-4 input.

In this paper, an object recognition method based on the depth information from the RGB-D camera, Xtion, is proposed for an indoor mobile robot. First, the RANdom SAmple Consensus (RANSAC) algorithm is applied to the point cloud obtained from the RGB-D camera to detect and remove the floor points. Next, the removed point cloud is classified by the k-means clustering method as each object's point cloud, and the normal vector of each point is obtained by using the k-d tree search. The obtained normal vectors are classified by the trained multi-layer perceptron as 18 classes and used as features for object recognition. To distinguish an object from another object, the similarity between them is measured by using Levenshtein distance. To verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed object recognition method, the experiments are carried out with several similar boxes.

Video object segmentation is a significant task in computer vision, but its performance is not very satisfactory. A method of video object segmentation using weakly temporal information is presented in this paper. Motivated by the phenomenon in reality that the motion of the object is a continuous and smooth process and the appearance of the object does not change much between adjacent frames in the video sequences, we use a feed-forward architecture with motion estimation to predict the mask of the current frame. We extend an additional mask channel for the previous frame segmentation result. The mask of the previous frame is treated as the input of the expanded channel after processing, and then we extract the temporal feature of the object and fuse it with other feature maps to generate the final mask. In addition, we introduce multi-mask guidance to improve the stability of the model. Moreover, we enhance segmentation performance by further training with the masks already obtained. Experiments show that our method achieves competitive results on DAVIS-2016 on single object segmentation compared to some state-of-the-art algorithms.
According to the current increase of the usefulness of information by Internet and Communication network, several methods are proposed in which multimedia information may be efficiently managed and serviced. This paper proposes FBOM(Fuzzy-Based Object Manager) using $\alpha$-cut in Object manager for Fuzzy-Based Multimedia Post-Office Box construction. The proposed system utilizes object discrimination, fuzzy filtering, and class generation structure in order to manage object using Fuzzy filtering. To know how well the proposed system are able to work, this paper have tested against the methods with 1000 items of multimedia information, and our system are compared with Random-key method and FBOM method.

We propose a robust visual object tracking algorithm fusing a convolutional neural network tracker trained offline from a large number of video repositories and a color histogram based tracker to track objects for mixing immersive audio. Our algorithm addresses the problem of occlusion and large movements of the CNN based GOTURN generic object tracker. The key idea is the offline training of a binary classifier with the color histogram similarity values estimated via both trackers used in this method to opt appropriate tracker for target tracking and update both trackers with the predicted bounding box position of the target to continue tracking. Furthermore, a histogram similarity constraint is applied before updating the trackers to maximize the tracking accuracy. Finally, we compute the depth(z) of the target object by one of the prominent unsupervised monocular depth estimation algorithms to ensure the necessary 3D position of the tracked object to mix the immersive audio into that object. Our proposed algorithm demonstrates about 2% improved accuracy over the outperforming GOTURN algorithm in the existing VOT2014 tracking benchmark. Additionally, our tracker also works well to track multiple objects utilizing the concept of single object tracker but no demonstrations on any MOT benchmark.

The edge and contour information are very much appreciated by the human visual systems and are responsible for our perceptions and recognitions. Therefore, if edge information is integrated during extracting video objects, we can generate boundaries of oects closer to human visual systems for multimedia applications such as interaction between video objects, object-based coding, and representation. Most of object extraction methods are difficult to implement real-time systems due to their iterative and complex arithmetic operations. In this paper, we propose a VLSI architecture integrating edge information to extract video objects for precisely located object boundaries. The proposed architecture can be easily implemented into hardware due to simple arithmetic operations. Also, it can be applied to real-time object extraction for object-oriented multimedia applications.

When examining current process of object tracking and search, objects were tracked by extracting them from image that was inputted through fixed single camera and objects were recognized through Zoom function to know detailed information on objects tracked. This study proposed system that expresses information on area that can seek and recognize object tracked as augmented reality by recognizing and seeking object by using multi camera. The result of experiment on proposed system showed that the number of pixels that was included in calculation was remarkably reduced and recognition rate of object was enhanced and time that took to identify information was shortened. Compared with existing methods, this system has advantage of better accuracy that can detect the motion of object and advantage of shortening time that took to detect motion.

The purpose of this study is to propose the Design Object Model for implementation of an integrated structural design system for building structures. This study outlines the step-by-step development methodologies of the Design Object Model, which covers classification and modeling of the building design information. The Design Object Model has been efficiently developed through the proposed development methodologies. As a result, the Design Object Model has been proved to be efficient in design information management by representing the information from planning perspective, in recognition of structural member in space by the topology design object, and in representation of analysis s design information.
