대학생들의 웰빙에 대한 의식과 생활 습관에 관한 연구 (A Study on College Students' Awareness and Life Pattern on Well-being)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the importance of well-being related to lifestyle choices such as food habits, food choices, life pattern, etc. The survey was conducted among college students using a questionnaire and a 5-point Likert score in Seoul City and Kyunggido Province during September 2005. The responses of 968 college students were analyzed by the SPSS program. The results were as follows. Most of the subjects were female(76.2%), and lived with their parents (85.6%). The average score of 'food habits', 'choosing food materials', 'purchasing' and 'life pattern' were $2.71{\pm}1.22,\;2.86{\pm}1.28,\;2.41{\pm}1.21,\;and\;2.97{\pm}1.31$ respectively in males and $3.01{\pm}1.20,\;3.00{\pm}1.32,\;2.55{\pm}1.20,and\;2.68{\pm}1.40$ in females, respectively. In regard to 'food habits', the scores were significantly affected by gender(p<0.001), smoking(p<0.05), alcohol consumption(p<0.05), exercise(p<0.001), weight satisfaction(p<0.001), method of weight control(p<0.001), use of nutritional supplement(p<0.05), attempts at weight control(p<0.001), regularity of breakfast(p<0.001), level of interest in well-being(p<0.001), and whether the individual tried a well-being item(p<0.001). In regarding to 'choosing food materials' the scores were significantly affected by gender(p<0.001), smoking(p<0.05), exercise(p<0.001), weight satisfaction(p<0.05), method of weight control(p<0.05), use of nutritional supplement(p<0.05), attempts at weight control(p<0.001), regularity of breakfast(p<0.001), level of interest in well-being(p<0.001) ), and whether the individual tried a well-being item(p<0.001). Out of the factors affecting 'purchasing', the association with BMI was remarkable. Students who were overweight, obese or underweight showed higher average scores than students of normal weight. The primary concerns and trial of well-being of college students were food and exercise. Therefore, the purchase of well-being goods is related to their weight control in college students. In regard to 'life pattern' the scores were significantly affected by exercise(p<0.01), use of computer(p<0.001), BMI(p<0.001), weight control(p<0.001), use of nutritional supplement(p<0.05), regularity of breakfast(p<0.001), level of interest in wellbeing(p<0.001), whether the individual tried a well-being item(p<0.001), and having taken lecture on well-being(p<0.05). Therefore nutrition education is needed for healthy eating habits of college students and it is necessary to develop a series of lectures to teach them about diet and exercise programs.

남성 성인의 흡연 유무에 따른 건강관심도 및 영양소 섭취 상태에 관한 연구 (The Comparison of Health and Nutrient Intakes between Male Smokers and Non-Smokers)

  • This study examines the effects of smoking on the health and nutrient intake of male adults. The subjects recruited are divided into two groups according to non-smokers (n=64), and smokers (n=50). The results show that the non-smokers are significantly more interested in health and maintain more frequency of weekly exercise as compared to the smokers. Smokers reported that the main reason for failures in quitting attempts was a lack of willingness (62.0%). 44.0% of smoker would be interested in attending a smoking cessation program if they had the opportunities to do so. The non-smoker is considered healthy, and ate a regular diet, and low in fat-rich foods compared to the smokers. The non-smokers and smokers consume lower intakes of vitamin $B_2$, folic acid, and calcium (Ca). On the other hand, intakes of phosphorus, and sodium are the highest among all groups. In the case of smokers, increased intakes of antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables should be encouraged, and the nutrition education for low-salt-type foods is also recommended.

비만 여대생에 대한 체중조절 프로그램의 적용 효과 (Evaluation of Weight Control Program for Obese Female College Students)

  • 체중조절을 희망하는 여대생 18명을 대상으로, 자의적 행동수정을 위한 상담프로그램과, 개별${\cdot}$그룹별 운동프로그램으로 구성된 복합식 체중조절 프로그램에 참여하도록 하여 활용도에 대해 조사하였다. 대상자는 대구${\cdot}$경북 지역에 거주하는 평균 연령 21.3세, 평균 신장 161.8cm의 여대생이었으며, 체질량지수(BMI)에 따라 과체중군(25 $\le$ BMI<27)과 비만군(BMI$\ge$27)으로 구분하였다. 대상자들의 초기 평균 체중과 체질량지수는 각각 71.56 kg, $27.25 kg/m^2$였으며, 프로그램 참여 동기는 대다수가 외모에 대한 자신감 결여 때문이었다. 9주간의 체중조절 프로그램으로 과체중군은 3.28 kg, 비만군은 3.0 kg의 체중감소가 있었으며, 체지방은 과체중군에서 $1.61\%$, 비만군에서 $0.8\%$ 감소하였다. 총콜레스테롤과 LDL-콜레스테롤은 과체중군에서 유의적 (p<0.05)으로 감소하였으며, 최대산소섭취량 또한 체중조절 프로그램 종료후 과체중군에서 2.71 mL/kg/min 증가하였다. 비만군은 체중조절 과정을 통해 열량섭취량이 권장량 대비 $109.2\%$에서 $86.5\%$로 감소하였으며, 식사속도, 간식섭취 및 식사중 TV시청 빈도의식 행동 평가점수가 높아졌다. 본 자율적 체중조절프로그램은 과체중군의 체중감량에 효과가 있을 것으로 추측되나 비만군은 자율적 운동에 소극적인 성향을 나타내고 있어, 비만정도에 따라 체중조절 프로그램의 구성과 진행을 달리할 필요성이 있겠다.

중.장년층의 성공적 노후를 위한 웹기반 노년기 준비 교육프로그램의 개발 (Development of a Web-based Senescence Preparation Education Program for Successful Aging for Middle-aged Adults)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a web-based senescence preparation education program to promote successful aging. Methods: This program was developed based on Network-Based Instructional System Design (NBISD) model, using the following 5 processes: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The program was operated for 10 weeks from March 17 to May 25, 2008. Results: There were 4 menu bars, introduction, related data, lecture room, and communication on the main page. In the operation of this program, HTML, ASP, JAVA Script, Namo web editor, Edit Plus, Front Page and multimedia technology were applied. The program content consisted of understanding elderly people, physical health, activity & exercise, nutrition, medication use, psychological health, intellectual health, understanding death, welfare system and leisure activity. Conclusion: This program could be a useful means to provide senescence preparation information to middle-aged adults. Also, it is expected to offer individualized learning opportunities to many learners in various settings. Nurses should further develop and facilitate various learning strategies including web-based programs for elder care.

Adherence to Health-Related Lifestyle Behavior Recommendations and Association with Quality of Life among Cancer Survivors and Age-Matched Controls in Koreaaa

  • Background: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between lifestyle behavior and quality of life (QoL) among cancer survivors in Korea. Materials and Methods: Data for a total of 471 (173 men, 298 women) cancer survivors (CS) over 40 years old were obtained from the database of the $4^{th}$ Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES IV). An identical number of subjects of the same age, sex, and education who had no restrictions in physical activity were randomly selected from the database and represented the control group (CG). Drinking, smoking, and exercise behavior were assessed. Results: The number of heavy drinkers was lower in CS (9.4%) than in CG (15.8%) (p<0.01); similarly, there were fewer smokers in CS (9.1%) than in CG (14.0%) (p<0.05). The percentage of individuals engaging in vigorous, moderate, and low-intensity exercise did not differ between CS (13.6%, 14.7%, and 50.0%) and CG (14.3%, 13.4%, and 49.7%, respectively). No differences in Euro QoL Questionnaire 5-Dimensional Classification (EQ-5D) scores on both drinking and smoking behaviors were noted. Compared to the non-exercisers, the low-intensity exercisers in CG ($0.91{\pm}0.10$ vs. $0.94{\pm}0.09$), vigorous-intensity exercisers in CS ($0.84{\pm}0.62$ vs. $0.91{\pm}0.11$), and low-intensity exercisers in CS ($0.82{\pm}0.22$ vs. $0.88{\pm}0.13$) scored higher on the EQ-5D. Conclusions: Although cancer survivors practiced more conscious health behavior in drinking and smoking, their engagement in exercise did not differ from that of non-cancer survivors. Since exercise engagement increases QoL in general, implementation of an educational program that promotes exercise engagement in cancer survivors may be required.

과채즙 식이를 포함한 혈중지질개선 프로그램의 참여도에 따른 효과 (Effects of a Juice Diet Including a Lipid Improvement Program and Program Attendance on the Korean Serum Lipid Profile)

  • Although fasting programs have recently attracted close attention because of benefits of detoxification, few studies have examined these programs. This study investigates the effects of a modified juice-based fasting program on lipid metabolism. A total of 33 volunteers fasted for 10 days and participated in program lectures, exercise programs, water bath regimens, and enemas. Pre- and post-program blood samples were obtained to evaluate lipoprotein levels. A paired t-test was conducted using SPSS 18.0. Changes in the lipid profile were observed during the juice-based fasting program and attending 3 degrees. All lipid profiles decreased significantly, including total cholesterol (TC) (p<0.001), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) (p<0.05). Program participation was documented by assessing attendance levels as high, moderate, and low. TC decreased significantly in all programs and levels (p<0.05), TG decreased proportionally only in enemas according to the attending degree: high (48 %), moderate (20 %), and low (10 %). HDL-C decreased at all low levels, but moderate exercise ($53.8{\pm}12.5mg/dL$ to $55.6{\pm}10.2mg/dL$) and a high enema ($54.9{\pm}14.1mg/dL$ to $55.0{\pm}9.4mg/dL$) showed small increases. The antioxidant property of the juice-based fasting program in terms of the blood vessel, enemas, and exercise played an important role in preventing cardiovascular disease from increased levels of HDL-C. These results suggest that juice-based fasting and combined lifestyle programs may help improve lipid metabolism and protect against dyslipidemia.

운동이 복부형 비만여성의 혈청지질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Exercise on Serum Lipids in Abdominal Obese Women)

  • 허리 둔부 둘레비가 0.85이상인 여성을 복부 비만으로 측정하고 8주간 계속해서 50분씩 달리기를 시행하였다 5Km의 실외 달리기 트랙을 50분간 강약 조절로 달리게 하였고, 운동을 시행한 후 체성분 변화에 대한 결과를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 8주간 운동에 의해 변화된 총 cholesterol이 LDL-C과 양의 상관관계를 보였다. (P<0.001), 허리 둔부 둘레비(WHR)는 총 cholesterol과 triglyceride의 변화량과 양의 상관관계를 보였으며(P<0.05) 허리 둔부 둘레비는 혈청 지질의 수준에 영향을 주었다. 또한 운동에 의하여 BMI와 체지방량은 유의적인 감소를 하였고 혈청지질 중 triglyceride는 역시 유의적인 감소를 보였다. 따라서 운동은 복부비만 여성에게 혈청지질 농도를 변화시켜 고지혈증이나 성인병의 유발을 감소시킬 것으로 사료된다. 한편 HDL-C과 LDL-C은 유의적인 변화를 보이지 않았으므로 장기간 운동에 의한 신체의 영향을 지속적으로 연구하는 일이 요구된다고 할 수 있다. 운동전, 혈청지질 간의 상관관계에서 총 cholesterol은 triglyceride, LDL-C과 양의 상관관계를 보였으며 운동 후 변화량을 비교한 상관관계에서도 총 cholesterol과 LDL-C은 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 허리 둔부 둘레비도 총 cholesterol과 triglyceride에 유의적인 상관성을 보여 체지방량 감소에 의하여 체형이 변화될 수 있는 가능성을 시사하였다. 복부비만 여성을 대상으로 실시한 운동은 혈청지질 농도 개선에 전반적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으나 운동이 LDL-C과 HDL-C에 미치는 영향을 구체적으로 연구하기 위하여 좀 더 장기적인 연구가 지속되어야 하며, 앞으로 허리 둔부 둘레비와 심혈관 질환과의 상관성도 깊게 연구되어야 할 필요가 있다고 사료된다.

우리나라 50세 이상 성인의 골감소증과 골다공증 영향요인 (Influencing Factors on Osteopenia and Osteoporosis in Korean Aged 50 Years and Above)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the influencing factors on osteopenia and osteoporosis in Korean aged 50 years and above. Methods: Data from the Fifth Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES V-1, 2010) were obtained and 2,773 subjects who got bone density test and were classified "normal, osteopenia or osteoporosis" were selected. Data were analyzed $x^2$ test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test and logistic regression using the SAS 9.4. Results: Gender, age, days of flexibility exercise, vitamin D in blood and weight were found to be influencing factors for osteoporosis in Korean aged 50 years and above. Gender. age and smoking were found to be influencing factors for osteopenia in Korean aged 50 years and above. Conclusion: This study suggested that nursing intervention should include exercise promotion, intake vitamin D, smoking cessation and weight control program in order to reduce the prevalence of osteoporosis and osteopenia.

매실을 첨가한 한방스포츠음료가 흰쥐의 혈중지질 및 운동수행력 증강에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Herbal Sports Drinks Containing Prunus mume Fruit Extract on the Plasma Lipid Profile and Endurance of Rats)

  • 본 연구는 한방소재인 가시오가피와 맥문동을 단일음료형태 또는 매실을 첨가한 혼합음료 형태로 음용하였을 때 이들 한방스포츠음료가 운동 시의 지구력 및 체지방 변화에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대조군(C)과 가시오가피(A), 맥문동(L) 추출물 음료 급여군, 매실과 가시오가피 추출물 혼합음료(PA), 매실과 맥문동 추출물 혼합음료(PL) 급여군으로 나누어 6주간 점증부하 운동을 실시한 후, 실험 마지막 날 최대 운동수행시간을 측정하였다. 한방스포츠음료의 음용은 식이효율뿐만 아니라 체중증가량과 신주위 백색지방 무게를 낮추는 경향을 나타내었으며 부고환 지방과 견갑골 백색지방 무게도 유의적으로 감소시켰다(p<0.05). 특히 매실 혼합추출물인 PA와 PL군의 식이섭취량 및 체중증가량이 대조군에 비해 유의적인 차이를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 반면 비복근의 무게는 대조군에 비해 모든 한방스포츠음료 음용군에서 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 그중 A군에서 유의적인 차이가 났다(p<0.05). 또한 A의 음용으로 가자미근의 무게가 대조군에 비해 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 혈장 유리지방산과 당 농도는 한방스포츠음료 음용군과 대조군 간의 유의적인 차이는 없었으나 음료군 중 A군이 혈장 유리지방산 농도를 대조군에 비해 증가시킨 반면, 혈장 당 농도를 낮추는 경향을 보였다. 또한 혈장 중성지질 농도가 C군에 비해 A군에서 유의적으로 감소하여 가시오가피 추출물을 함유한 음료군은 지방을 주에너지원으로 이용하고 탄수화물을 절약시키는 것으로 사료된다(p<0.05). 운동수행시간이 맥문동을 제외한 3종 한방스포츠음료 음용군에서 증가하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 경향은 가시오가피와 맥문동을 매실과 혼합하여 공급한 혼합음료군에서 가장 두드러지게 나타났다. 한편, 혈장 피로물질인 암모니아, 젖산, 무기인산 농도와 혈장 근육효소 활성도는 군간 유의적인 차이가 없었으나, 비복근조직의 LDH 효소 활성도는 PA군과 PL군이 C군에 비해 유의적으로 높게 나타났으며, 이러한 경향은 최대 운동수행시간과도 일치하였다. 이상의 실험결과에서 지구력운동과 함께 급여한 4종 한방스포츠음료는 체지방과 체중 감소 및 혈장 중성지질개선에 전반적으로 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 한방스포츠음료섭취에 의한 식이효율 감소와도 연관이 있을 것으로 사료된다. 가시오가피 추출물은 맥문동 추출물에 비해 근육량, 운동수행시간, 혈장 유리지방산 농도를 증가시키고 혈장 중성지질과 당 농도를 낮추는 경향을 보였으며, 매실 추출물 첨가에 의해 이러한 변화가 증가(운동수행시간)하거나 감소(근육량, 혈장 중성지질, 유리지방산 및 당 농도)하였다. 본 연구에서 확인된 매실, 가시오가피, 맥문동 혼합음료의 지구력 증강 효능이 피로물질 변화, 체내에너지기질 이용도 증가 및 비복근 LDH 활성도 증가와 관련이 있는 것으로 추정되나 추후 더 구체적이고 체계적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

우리나라 사업장의 건강증진 프로그램 유형 분석 - 사업장 건강증진운동 우수사례집을 중심으로 - (Analysis of Worksit Health Promotion Programs)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the types of worksite health promotion programs. Method: Data were collected from the excellent 35 cases chosen at the contest for worksite health promotion held by Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. Result: Out of all the health promotion programs, the exercise program recorded 35.0%, the nutrition program 29.4%, the smoking cessation program 28.0%, and the alcohol reduction program 7.6%. The major element of worksite health promotion programs were awareness raising intervention. Behavior change intervention and supportive environment intervention occupied a small portion of the health promotion programs. Evaluation of health promotion programs was made mainly by indicators of health behavior change and clinical symptom. Yet economical indicator was not used at all. Conclusion: Use of various evaluation indicator and development of various interventions including behavior change and supply of supportive environment are required to encourage worksite health promotion program.
