This paper tries to extend the conventional conceptual framework of the Internet of Things (IoT) so as to reify an advanced pervasive IoT-community collaboration concept, which is called the process-aware Internet of Things. The extended conceptual framework is embodied as a referential architecture that can be a standardized reference model supporting the conceptual integration of the Internet of Things and the process awareness. The extended referential architecture covers the full range of the architectural details from abstracting the process-aware behavioral semantics to reifying the IoT-process enactments. These extended framework and architecture ought to be the theoretical basis for implementing a process-aware IoT-community computing system supporting process-aware collaborations of Things in pervasive computing environments. In particular, we do point up that the proposed framework of the process-aware Internet of Things is revised from the Internet of Things framework announced in ITU-T SG133 Y.2060 [26] by integrating the novel concept of process awareness. We strongly believe that the extended conceptual framework and its referential architecture are able to deliver the novel and meaningful insight as a standardized platform for describing and achieving the goals of IoT-communities and societies.

Basic design of RC-GCTs (Reserve-Conducting Gate-Commutated Thyristors) by novel punch-through (PT) concept with 5,500v rated voltage is described here. A PT and NPT (non punch-through) concept for the same blocking voltage has been compared in detail. The simulation work indicates that GCT with such PT design exhibits that the forward breakdown voltage is 6,400V which is enough for supporting 5500V blocking. Additionally, the real IGCT turn-off in the mode of PNP transistor has been realized. However, the carrier extraction from N-base to gate terminal will be drastic slowly in terms of NPT structure except for the high on-state voltage drop.

It has been shown in the literature that active adjustment of the intake area of a jet engine has potential to improve its fuel efficiency. This paper presents the design and control of a novel proof-of-concept active jet engine intake using Nickel-Titanium (Ni-Ti or Nitinol) shape memory alloy (SMA) wire actuators. The Nitinol SMA material is used in this research due to its advantages of high power-to-weight ratio and electrical resistive actuation. The Nitinol SMA material can be fabricated into a variety of shapes, such as strips, foils, rods and wires. In this paper, SMA wires are used due to its ability to generate a large strain: up to 6% for repeated operations. The proposed proof-of-concept engine intake employs overlapping leaves in a concentric configuration. Each leaf is mounted on a supporting bar than can rotate. The supporting bars are actuated by an SMA wire actuator in a ring configuration. Electrical resistive heating is used to actuate the SMA wire actuator and rotate the supporting bars. To enable feedback control, a laser range sensor is used to detect the movement of a leaf and therefore the radius of the intake area. Due to the hysteresis, an inherent nonlinear phenomenon associated with SMAs, a nonlinear robust controller is used to control the SMA actuators. The control design uses the sliding-mode approach and can compensate the nonlinearities associated with the SMA actuator. A proof-of-concept model is fabricated and its feedback control experiments show that the intake area can be precisely controlled using the SMA wire actuator and has the ability to reduce the area up to 25%. The experiments demonstrate the feasibility of engine intake area control using an SMA wire actuator under the proposed design.

The Linked Open Data(LOD) cloud is quickly becoming one of the largest collections of interlinked datasets and the de facto standard for publishing, sharing and connecting pieces of data on the Web. Data publishers from diverse domains publish their data using Resource Description Framework(RDF) data model and provide SPARQL endpoints to enable querying their data, which enables creating a global, distributed and interconnected dataspace on the LOD cloud. Although it is possible to extract structured data as query results by using SPARQL, users have very poor in analysis and visualization of RDF data from SPARQL query results. Therefore, to tackle this issue, based on Formal Concept Analysis, we propose a novel approach for analyzing and visualizing useful information from the LOD cloud. The RDF data analysis and visualization technique proposed in this paper can be utilized in the field of semantic web data mining by extracting and analyzing the information and knowledge inherent in LOD and supporting classification and visualization.
Multitenancy has gained growing importance with the development and evolution of cloud computing technology. In a multitenant environment, multiple tenants with different demands can share a variety of computing resources (e.g., CPU, memory, storage, network, and data) within a single system, while each tenant remains logically isolated. This useful multitenancy concept offers highly efficient, and cost-effective systems without wasting computing resources to enterprises requiring similar environments for data processing and management. In this paper, we propose a novel approach supporting multitenancy features for Apache Hadoop, a large scale distributed system commonly used for processing big data. We first analyze the Hadoop framework focusing on "yet another resource negotiator (YARN)", which is responsible for managing resources, application runtime, and access control in the latest version of Hadoop. We then define the problems for supporting multitenancy and formally derive the requirements to solve these problems. Based on these requirements, we design the details of multitenant Hadoop. We also present experimental results to validate the data access control and to evaluate the performance enhancement of multitenant Hadoop.
A novel approach has been used to identify functional interactions relevant to human disease. Using high-throughput human-yeast genetic interaction screens, a first draft of disease interactome was obtained. This was achieved by first searching for candidate human disease genes that confer toxicity in yeast, and second, identifying modulators of toxicity. This study found potentially disease-relevant interactions by analyzing the network of functional interactions and focusing on genes implicated in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), for example. In the subsequent proof-of-concept study focused on ALS, similar functional relationships between a specific kinase and ALS-associated genes were observed in mammalian cells and zebrafish, supporting findings in human-yeast genetic interaction screens. Results of combined analyses highlighted MAP2K5 kinase as a potential therapeutic target in ALS.
An ontology as the core element of Semantic Web is a formal specification of a conceptualization of shared domain knowledge. The use of well-defined ontologies can increase the quality of interoperable information systems in the area of Semantic Web. However, in practice, it is not easy to develop high-quality ontologies which have no errors. Therefore, with methodologies for ontology design, various methods or tools for ontology analysis supporting for error-detection might be very helpful for ontology developers. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for analyzing the core constructs of ontology based on the Formal Concept Analysis and develop a tool that supports error-checking ontologies. Our approach can serve not only as a guidance to modify the existing ontologies, but also as a valuable tool in developing high-quality ontologies.

Record management metadata schema should have robust structure to represent not only elements innate in records itself but also management elements for the life cycle of records according to business activities. To realize these requirement, Information model for record domain is needed and also Metadata framework supporting semantic refinement and data element specialization required in record management business or applications are required. This study analyse main principles and characteristics of metadata scheme, and then suggested a novel method to develope schema systematically and effectively. This study propose information model and set of core data elements of records management based on ISO 15489 and 230381, and show how to implement the record management framework.

Group oriented multicast applications are becoming increasingly popular in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Due to dynamic topology of MANETs, stateless multicast protocols are finding increased acceptance since they do not require maintenance of state information at intermediate nodes. Recently, several multicast schemes have been proposed which scale better' with the number of multicast sessions than traditional multicast strategies. These schemes are also known as explicit multicast (Xcast; explicit list of destinations in the packet header) or small group multicast (SGM). In this paper, we propose a new scheme for small group' multicast in MANETs named extended explicit multicast (E2M), which is implemented on top of Xcast and introduces mechanisms to make it scalable with number of group members for a given multicast session. Unlike other schemes, E2M does not make any assumptions related to network topology or node location. It is based on the novel concept of dynamic selection of Xcast forwarders (XFs) between a source and its potential destinations. The XF selection is based on group membership and the processing overhead involved in supporting the Xcast protocol at a given node. If the number of members in a given session is small, E2M behaves just like the basic Xcast scheme with no intermediate XFs. As group membership increases, nodes may dynamically decide to become an XF. This scheme, which can work with few E2M aware nodes in the network, provides transparency of stateless multicast, reduces header processing overhead, minimizes Xcast control traffic, and makes Xcast scalable with the number of group members.

Systemic heating and cooling air conditioning systems are popular in various industrial fields and even home. Recently, the rate of supply of this kind of multi-heat pump has been increased under ESCO financing supporting system. Generally the heat pumping system has a structural simplicity and easy installation benefits. and has good running efficiency under normal designed condition. But under extreme climate condition (over $+30^{\circ}C$, under $-10^{\circ}C$), this system exposes abnormal power consumption. It causes high progressive electric power rates and resultant peak power capacity of power plant. In this paper, a novel system concept of buffering refrigerant accumulator and constant pressure control system to relieve peak power load is proposed and this system's utility is verified with an prototype experimental system.
