In this study, I investigated physiology and pathology of the kidney and then researched deficiency of the kidney-nourishing the Eum music therapy to apply for clinical use, because symptoms such as chronic fatigue, morbus asthenia, anxiety, dizziness, tinnitus, and amnesia are prevalent in our modern societies. These symptoms are due to deficiency of the kidney. The kidney stores vital essence and has a function to keep activities as motive power. If the kidney is abnormal in storing the essence and holding Gi, various symptoms like dizziness, tinnitus, amnesia are caused by deficiency of the kidney. In deficiency of the kidney-nourishing the Eum music therapy, Water-Gi music which can store the essence is mainly used. In case of patients with deficiency of the kidney, dizziness, tinnitus, and amnesia, we can make use of NO.3, BWV 1068, Air of J.S.Bach and Jinyangjo of Geomungo. If there are flaring-up and fidgetiness due to deficiency of vital essence, Earth-Gi music that can help the vigor of spleen and stomach should be used prior to Water-Gi music. In the concrete, Hahyeondodeuri of Yeongsanhoesang played on Geomungo can be used. The tinnitus is caused by wind-heat and fire in the gallbladder. It is good to nourish the Eum through Water-Gi music after dispelling pathogens through Jajinmori among Gayageum sanjo.

The pediatrics has other diagnosis and treatment compared with an adult. It is therefore, the children have different pathogenesis, pathology from adult's. The special feature of the children is two. Firstly, children are the body of the pure Yang[純陽之體], which means the growth and development of them are very fast. Secondly, they have weak muscle, skeletal and digestive function. So we must consider health-preserving method in different physiology and pathology aspects of the children. The children have weak digestive functions, so they should be careful to avoid eating greasy food and overeating. They must eat the nourishing Eum[滋陰] food. The children should wear thin clothes as possible. If the children wear clothes so thick, it promote the Yang (陽), so the Eum(陰) is hurted. The children are to be lack of Eum[陰不足], so they need to grow and raise the Eum(陰) in this way which the lower body is cool. Sleep is important ways to generate Eum Essence[陰精]. So the children should take a bed as change of the season. Children's muscles and skeleton are growing so incomplete that they are hard to handle Wind-Cold pathogen[風寒邪]. Therefore, the children should be training vital Essence and Gi(氣) with appropriate exercise. We should be careful treatment the Hwayeoljeung(火熱證) with purgation[瀉下] - bitter in taste and cold in nature[苦寒藥], aromatic herb[芳香性藥物], sudorific herb[發汗藥] In addition, child has weak digestive function, so doctor should not use a lot of nourishment[滋補].

Seopcheonsa(葉天士) regarded the cause of Stomach-Eum[胃陰] deficiency as the lack of fluid and humor induced the heat by Eum(陰, yin) deficiency constitution, external pathogen, overexertion and fatigue, misused medication etc. He said that the symptoms of Stomach-Eum deficiency was related to indigestion of food and that it induced the short supply of nutrition for the whole body and the symptoms by disabled Earth[土]-engenders-Metal[金]. He presented the treatment of clearing Stomach-Fire[胃熱] and nourishing Stomach-Eum[胃陰], and used Geumgwemaekmundongtang(金匱麥門冬湯). And he emphasized Stomach-Eum to supplement existing Spleen-Yang[脾陽] centered treatment. Dangjonghae(唐宗海) regarded Spleen-Eum[脾陰] as these, first, it was fluid and humor such as digestive enzyme. Secondly, it was nutritive substance itself. Finally, it contained plaster-oil and blood-agglutination which formed flesh with nutritive substance. Seopcheonsa and Dangjonghae both thought that fluid and humor was necessary to digest food. However, Dangjonghae's Spleen-Eum[脾陰] included nutritive substance as the result of digestion. So we can say that Dangjonghae integrated Spleen-Eum with Stomach-Eum and Spleen-nutrient.

Eczema is a general term for skin diseases showing itching, vessiculopapular eruption, and erythema when acute, or lichenification and scale if chronic. It is classified as irritant dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, nummular eczema, statis dermatitis, infective dermatitis, xerotic eczema, and pompholyx by afflicted regions and symptoms. Therapy for eczema is allopathic, and includes application of ice- pack to erythema, and application of emollients and steroids to the affected parts during subacute or chronic stages. Eczema is understood as ulceration(瘡), tinea(癬), wind syndrome(風證), and dryness syndrome(燥證) in terms of oriental medicine. Xerotic eczema is understood in dryness syndrome. Nourishing blood(養血) therapy is used. This is a case study on which xerotic eczema occurred on a patient's afflicted left palm and fingers after stroke. The patient's xerotic eczema was attributed to dryness syndrome. Therefore, Samul-tang(四物湯) and Saenghyeoryunbu-eum(生血潤膚飮) were used for nourishing blood. This therapy was effective on eczema and accompanying symptoms such as dizziness and numbness of the left hand.

Inspiratory pneumoniais one of the common complications in stroke patients who have dysphagia. Pneumonia due to Klebsiella bacteria shows higher fatality than other bacteria. For this reason, K. pneumoniae can be fatal to immune deficient patients. The purpose of this paper is to report the adapting pattern identification according to principles of defense, Gi, nutrients and blood on K. pneumoniae treatment. In this case, improvement was seen in a stroke patient with dysphagia diagnosed with K. pneumoniae by X-ray, sputum culture, and by using Cheonghobyulgaptang as a way of nourishing Eum and clearing heat, because in this case K. pneumoniae was presumed to cause Eumdeficiency due to the chronic low fever, cough, sputum and weakness. This paper proposes that adapting pattern identification according to principles of defense. Gi, nutrients and blood can increase the efficiency of K. pneumoniae treatment.

After studying about the formative process and theory concerning So-Yang In(少陽人)'s prescriptions, Some principles were founded. Those were summarized as follows. 1. Lee Jae Ma(李濟馬) established the theory and remedy about the So Yang In's diseases, and the formation of So Yang In's prescriptions was based on those theories and remedies 2. As the emprical prescription of So Yang In's diseases, ten pre-scriptions of Discussion of Cold-Induced Disorder(傷寒論) and nine of Won Myung dynasty period(元明時代) were described in Dong Eui Su-Se Bo Won(東醫壽世保元), and I could confirm that the formation of So Yang In's presciptions was based on those emprical prescriptions. 3. The pathological characteristics of emprical prescriptions of So-Yang In's diseases in Discussion of Cold-Induced Disorder(傷寒論) were completely corresponded with the principle of So Yang In's diseases, and we could know that emprical presciptions of diseases that were the base of So Yang In's prescriptions were selected by the principle of So Yang In's diseases. 4. In the serious cases of So Yang In's diseases, So Yang In's pre-scriptions were mostly made up of tonifying and nourishing yin medicine(補陰藥物) that dirrectly rufill the damaged Eum Chung Zi Ki(陰淸之氣). According to the above results, it could be concluded that Lee Jae-Ma(李濟馬) made So Yang In's prescriptions with emprical pre scri-ptions that were based on the theory of So Yang In's diseases and concluded that So Yang In's prescriptions were made up of tonifying and nourishing yin medicine(補陰藥物) in the serious cases of diseases.

Objetcives : Cancer cachexia is a common syndrome in advanced cancer patients, which is characterized by profound changes in protein, fat and carbohydrate metabolism, resulting in anorexia, weight loss, muscle wasting and poor performance status. We studied the journals of Chinese herb medicine about cancer cachexia and reported the results. Methods : This study attempted to analyze the contents of the research papers concerning the treatment of cancer cachexia presented in the journals of Chinese medicine published in China over the period between 2000 and 2009. Results & Conclusions : The principles for medical treatment were invigorating Ki(益氣), invigorating the spleen(健脾), regulating the stomach(和胃), nourishing the blood(養血), nourishing Eum(補陰), promoting the circulation of Ki(行氣), removing the phlegm(化痰), removing blood stasis(祛瘀) etc. The used herbs were Poria(茯笭), Astragali Radix(黃芪), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma(白朮), Codonopsis Pilosulae Radix(黨蔘), Dioscoreae Rhizoma(山藥), Citri Pericarpium(陳皮), Angelicae Gigantis Radix(當歸), Coicis Pemen(薏苡仁), Paeoniae Radix Alba(白芍藥) etc. The effetcive rate of treatment with Chinese herb medicine group was comparable or even more effetcive. Chinese herb medicine group had little side effetcs. Chinese medicine herb treatment to inhibit cancer cachexia has many possibilities.

Following conclusions are drawn from study about Yukmigiwhangwon through referring to literatures and reviewing in the point of Hyungsang medicine. Yukmigiwhangwon was prescribed by Jeon Eul in order to cure five kinds of flaccidity of infants, but after since then it has been basically applied to symptoms which was caused by deficiency of the kidney not only infants but also adult. The deficiency of kidney is the lack of vital essence and body fluid stored in kidney, it happens because infants are born in the conditions of lack of receiving in the womb. And it happens because adults infringe the rules of life, especially the sexual life. Main symptoms of the poverty of renal functions are emptiness of the brain marrow, dizziness, forgetfulness, tinnitus, deafness, vertigo and dim eyesight, insomnia, the low back and knees aching and limping, heat on the legs, tibia aching, nocturnal emission, dry mouth, reddened tongue and little coating or non coating of the 'tongue, weak blood meridians. the treating method is nourishing Eum and supplementing kidney. In Dongeuibogam Yukmigiwhangwon is mentioned in the parts of vital essence, blood, voice, kidney, urine, eye, ear, the low back, hair, fire, exhaustion syndrome, cough, polydipsia, infant, etc. The shapes which Yukmigiwhangwon is applied to are the Dam Body Doing deficiency of Eum due to excess of Yang, man, infant, Jung type, Fish group, reverse triangular shape, big headed man, big eared man, big mouthed man, man having prominent cheekbones, man having long waist, man having big hips, man with thick hair or white hair, man with bald on the head, etc. In color it is applied to darkish complexion, flushed tip of the nose, or flushed cheek bones. Through inquiring into the clinical cases on the points of Hyungsang medicine Yukmigiwhangwon is efficacious cure to lumbago, symptoms of tendons and bones, symptoms of eyes and ears, symptoms of respiratory organs, dermatopathia, headache, polydipsia, urinary disorders, etc.

The clinical study was carried out the 30 patients with tremor who were treated in Daejeon University Oriental Hospital from 1 April 1997 to 31 March 2001. The results were summarized as follows. 1. The ratio of female was higher, especially in the psychosomatic tremor, the ratio of female was higher and in the age distribution the aged over 50 were higher frequence. 2. The case without past history was most, the most ordinary preceding disease was hypertention and the next was diabetes, drinking history had no concern with tremor, first visit was most, in the psychosomatic tremor complication by relation was the most inducing factor and both parkinson tremor and essential tremor were no inducing factor. 3. Tremor appeared to be busy in extremities, parkinson tremor appeared to be accompanied with musculoskeletal system symptoms and they were in descending order lower limb weakness, extremities numbness, general body weakness e.t.c. both essential tremor and psychosomatic tremor appeared to be accompanied with psychosomatic symptoms and they were in descending order dizziness, headache e.t.c. 4. In classification of Four Human coporeal constitution the number of patients, Tae-Eum-In(太陰人) was most, the prescription drugs of tranquillizing the liver and relieving anxiety such as GYEJIYONGGOLMORYETANG(桂枝加龍骨牡蠣湯) and nourishing Yin, blood and relieving anxiety such as SAMULANSINTANG(四物安神湯) were used to be busy. 5. The rate of treatment was collectively improved and was higher in the yaung age than in the old age, the period of the clinical history was the shorter within one month, the rate of improvement was the better.

The methods of checking the exuberance of yang (潛陽法) are a kind of medical treatments which cure various symtoms caused by hyperactivity of liver-yang, at the same time used for treating apoplexy. Thus, I investigated the application of checking the exuberance of yang to treat stroke. The conclusions are as follows. We can find application of checking the exuberance of yang to apoplexy on Synopsis of the Gold Chamber. After Ye Gui who persisted the theory of endogenous wind, many physicians applied the method of checking the exuberance of yang and this method has usually applied with nourishing yin. The methods of checking the exuberance of yang are concretely applied as follows. 1) a portion of apoplexy involving the channels and collaterals, which is caused by deficiency of yin and wind-fire pathogen. 2) excessive-syndrome of coma accompanied by heat syndrome. 3) epilepsy caused old apoplexy. The majority of shells for example abalone shell, hawksbill shell, oyster shell, tortoise-shell etc. are the most frequent use of herbal drug which check the exuberance of yang. The precriptions of checking the exuberance of yang are Ho-jam-hwan(虎潛丸), Ko-bon-dan(固本丹), Cheon-ma-gu-deung-eum(天麻鉤藤飮), Chin-gan-sik-pung-tang(鎭肝熄風湯) etc.
