  • To effectively cope with a complexity of kinematic metrology due to workspace enlargement of the planar stage, the linear induction motor is suggested as its new driving source. Especially, the linear induction motor under uniform plate type of secondary doesn't inherently have a periodical force ripple which is generally shown in the brushless DC motor. But, it presents a poor transient characteristic at zero or low speed zone owing to time delay of flux settling, resulting in slow response. To improve the servo property of linear induction motor and apply successfully it to the precision stage, this paper discusses a modified vector control methodology. The controller has a novel input form, fixed d-axis current, q-axis current and forward-fed DC current, to control thrust force and normal force of the linear induction motor independently. Influence of the newly introduced input and the feasibility of controller are validated experimentally.

소성인장변형 몇 아연도금된 Fe-Mn-C계 TWIP 강의 전기화학적 수소투과거동 (Electrochemical Hydrogen Permeation Behaviors of Pre-Strained Fe-Mn-C TWIP Steel With or Without Zn Coating)

  • This study aimed to evaluate hydrogen permeation behaviors of pre-strained twinning-induced plasticity steel with or without Zn coating using electrochemical permeation technique. In contrast to un-strained and 30% strained samples, permeation current density was measured in the 60% strained sample. Tensile pre-straining at 60% involved microstructural modifications, including a high level of dislocation density and stacking fault with a semi-coherent twin boundary, which might provide a high diffusion path for hydrogen atoms. However, reproducibility of measurements of hydrogen permeation current was low due to non-uniform deformation and localized stress concentration. On the other hand, the permeation current was not measured in pre-strained TWIP steel with Zn coating. Instead, numerous blisters with some cracks were observed on the surface of the coating layer. In locally damaged Zn coating under tensile straining, hydrogen atoms could relatively easily permeate through the coating layer. However, they were trapped at the interface between the coating layer and the substrate, which might delay hydrogen penetration into the steel substrate.

Thickness evaluation of Cr coating fuel rod using encircling ECT sensor

  • To improve the safety and life extension qualities of nuclear fuel rods which is currently made of zirconium (Zr) alloy, research on the application of chromium (Cr) coating was conducted. Cr coating has advantages such as increased corrosion resistance and reduced oxidation rate, but non-destructive thickness evaluation studies are needed to ensure the reliability of the steps taken to provide uniform coating thickness. Eddy current testing (ECT) is a representative non-destructive technique for such as thickness evaluation and surface defect inspection. To inspect changes in thickness at micron scale, the Swept Frequency Eddy Current Testing (SFECT) method was applied to select a frequency range sensitive to changes in thickness. The coating thickness was evaluated using changes in signals, such as that for impedance. In this study, basic research was performed to evaluate the thickness of the Cr coating on a rod using an encircling sensor and the SFECT technique. The sensor design parameters were determined through simulation, after which the new sensor was manufactured. A sensor capable of measuring the thickness of a non-uniformly Cr-coating rod was selected through an experiment evaluating the performance of the manufactured sensor. This was done using the impedance-difference of a Cr-coating rod and a Zr alloy rod. The possibility of evaluation of the Cr coating thickness was confirmed by comparing the experimental results with the selected sensor and the signals of the measured Cr-coating rod. All simulation results were verified experimentally.

우리나라 수출통제 법제의 발전방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development Proposals for Korea's Export Control System)

  • 본 연구는 국제수출통제규범을 고찰하고 국내 수출통제 법제를 분석하여 문제점을 도출하고 발전방안을 제시함으로써 우리나라 수출통제제도의 발전을 도모하는데 목적이 있다. 2005년 이후 본격 시행된 국내 수출통제 제도는 법체계와 목적, 상황허가 요건, 수출통제 대상 '물품등' 등의 용어에 대한 정의와 범위, 중개허가의 실효성 및 미국 재수출통제 대응 등의 측면에서 중대한 문제를 내포하고 있다. 그 발전방안으로 현행 대외무역법령에서 수출통제 부분을 분리하여 가칭 '수출통제법'으로 입법화, 수출통제 대상을 '전략품목'으로 통일, 상황허가 요건의 명료화, 중개허가 실효성 제고를 위한 등록제 도입 및 수출통제 관련 각종 용어에 대한 정비 등을 제안한다.

헐셀을 통한 보조 양극의 바이폴라 현상에 의한 음극의 전류밀도 분포 개선 영향성 연구 (A Study on Improving the Current Density Distribution of the Cathode by the Bipolar Phenomenon of the Auxiliary Anode through the Hull Cell Experiment)

  • 외부로부터 전원이 인가되지 않은 바이폴라 전극의 정량적 고찰을 통해 도금 두께 산포 개선의 가능성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 헐셀은 양극에 대해 기울어진 음극을 가짐으로써, 음극의 각 영역에서 양극에 대한 경로차에 의한 iR drop의 차이로 음극 근처의 전해액에서는 전위 분포가 다르게 되어 한눈에 다양한 반응 과전압에서의 전기화학적 반응성을 평가할 수 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 헐셀의 불균일한 전위분포에 대해 보조 양극이 있는 경우에 바이폴라 특성을 관찰하고자 하였다. 특히 이러한 바이폴라 특성을 활용하여 음극의 불균일 두께 산포를 개선할 수 있는 가능성을 평가하기 위해, 실험 및 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였으며, 이를 통해 바이폴라가 형성된 주변의 전위 및 전류밀도 분포를 분석해 보았다. 10 mA/cm2 전류밀도로 75분동안 도금을 진행하여, 평균 두께가 약 16 ㎛로 도금을 진행하였다. 보조 양극을 사용하지 않은 일반 헐셀에서는 두께의 표준 편차가 10 ㎛인 반면에 보조 양극을 사용한 경우에는 3.5 ㎛로 나타났다. 시뮬레이션 계산에서도 8.9 ㎛와 3.3 ㎛로 나타났으며, 비교적 실험결과와 시뮬레이션 결과의 정합성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 보조 양극을 통해 외부에서 전원 인가를 하지 않더라도 바이폴라 현상에 의해 두께 산포가 개선될 수 있음을알 수 있었다.

  • 고순도의 알루미늄 호일은 전기화학적 에칭을 통해 표면적을 증가시킨 후 전해 커패시터의 양극으로 사용된다. 그러나 산화 피막의 결함 및 에치 피트의 불규칙 생성에 의해 성장된 에치 피트의 분포는 불균일하며 이러한 불균일 형태는 알루미늄 넓은 표면적 분포에도 불구하고 여러 형태의 적용을 어렵게 만든다. 본 연구에서는 알루미늄의 선택적 에칭을 위해 포토리소그래피 방법으로 제작된 패턴 마스크를 사용하여 알루미늄 표면에 균일성을 갖는 보호층을 형성시켰다. 균일한 패턴을 갖는 알루미늄을 용액의 온도 및 전류밀도 등의 조건을 변경하여 실험하였고, 알루미늄 표면에 다양한 크기($2{\sim}5{\mu}m$)의 균일성을 갖는 에치 피트의 형성을 확인할 수 있었다.

An Off-line Maximum Torque Control Strategy of Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine with Nonlinear Parameters

  • Belt-driven Starter Generator (BSG) differs from other mild hybrid systems as the crankshaft of vehicle are not run off. Motor permits a low-cost method of adding mild hybrid capabilities such as start-stop, power assist, and mild levels of regenerative braking. Wound rotor synchronous motor (WRSM) could be adopted in BSG system for HEV e-Assisted application instead of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). In practice, adequate torque is indispensable for starter assist system, and energy conversion should be taken into account for the HEV or EV as well. Particularly, flux weakening control is possible to realize by adjusting both direct axis components of current and field current in WRSM. Accordingly, this paper present an off-line current acquisition algorithm that can reasonably combine the stator and field current to acquire the maximum torque, meanwhile the energy conversion is taken into consideration by losses. Besides, on account of inductance influence by non-uniform air gap around rotor, nonlinear inductances and armature flux linkage against current variation are proposed to guarantee the results closer to reality. A computer-aided method for proposed algorithm are present and results are given in form of the Look-up table (LUT). The experiment shows the validity of algorithm.

Low-Sampling Rate UWB Channel Characterization and Synchronization

  • We consider the problem of low-sampling rate high-resolution channel estimation and timing for digital ultrawideband (UWB) receivers. We extend some of our recent results in sampling of certain classes of parametric non-bandlimited signals and develop a frequency domain method for channel estimation and synchronization in ultra-wideband systems, which uses sub-Nyquist uniform sampling and well-studied computational procedures. In particular, the proposed method can be used for identification of more realistic channel models, where different propagation paths undergo different frequency-selective fading. Moreover, we show that it is possible to obtain high-resolution estimates of all relevant channel parameters by sampling a received signal below the traditional Nyquist rate. Our approach leads to faster acquisition compared to current digital solutions, allows for slower A/D converters, and potentially reduces power consumption of digital UWB receivers significantly.

  • In this paper, the design variables of the extruded parts involving flat die through model experiment are investigated to overcome some current problems such as bending and twisting and get more improved quality products. Above all, the deformation behavior is analyzed in experiment and investigated flow charactristics inside container. Finally, the straight extruded product is obtained by modified bearing land width on the basis of the exit velocities distribution from bended and twisted products.

  • A comprehensive thermo-electromagnetic model has been developed to estimate temperature and electromagnetic distribution in an three-phase induction motor under steady state operation. Electromagnetic modeling enables us to predict thermal dissipation rates by eddy-current loss and copper loss in induction motors. Non-uniform temperature distributions are investigated to account for the strong effect of local temperature build-up on the motor performance and expected life-span. For more accurate thermal modeling purpose, Heat loss mapping method, which is matched up with electromagnetic losses and volumetric heat source, is developed and performed analysis. Heat loss mapping method can be greatly used as a design or diagnostic tool for three-phase induction motors with complex structural electromagnetic fields.
