충돌 공기제트에서 국한 유로 내 발포 알루미늄 방열기의 열전달 수치해석 (A Numerical Study on Beat Transfer from an Aluminum Foam Heat Sink by Impinging Air Jet in a Confined Channel)

  • A numerical study has been carried out to investigate the flow and heat transfer from an aluminum foam heat sink in a confined channel. A uniform heat flux is given at the bottom of the aluminum foam heat sink, which is horizontally placed on the heated surface. The channel walls are assumed to be adiabatic. Cold air is supplied from the top opening of the channel and exhausted to the channel outlet. Comprehensive numerical solutions are acquired to the governing Wavier-Stokes and energy equations, using the Brinkman-Forchheimer extended Darcy model and the local thermal non-equilibrium model f3r the region of porous media. Details of flow and thermal fields are examined over wide ranges of the principal parameters; i.e., the Reynolds number Re, the height of heat sink h/H, porosity $\varepsilon$and pore diameter ratio $R_{H}$.

  • 본 연구에서는 사각형형상 수중방파제에 의한 불규칙파의 반사에 대하여 수리모형실험과 수치모형실험을 수행한 후 실험결과를 비교하였다. 수치해석 모형에서는 Reynolds 방정식을 지배방정식으로 사용하고 난류해석을 위해 k-$\varepsilon$모델을 적용하였으며, 자유수면변위를 추적하기 위해 VOF기법을 사용하였다. 수리모형실험과 수치모형실험의 결과는 서로 잘 일치하였으며, 수중방파제의 배열이 증가함에 따라 반사율은 증가하였다.

Photoluminescence Tuning of Porous Silicon by Electrochemical Etching in Mixed Electrolytes

  • We have systematically studied the evolution of the photoluminescence(PL) tuning of porous silicon(PS) by electrochemical etching in various mixed electrolytes. The electrolytes employed as an etchants were mixtures of HF:CH$_3$COOH:HNO$_3$:C$_2$H$\_$5/OH solutions where the composition ratios (%) were varied from 10:1.98:0:88.02 to 10: 1.98:8.4:79.62 under constant concentration of HF and CH$_3$COOH with a total volume of 100 ml. Changes in the surface morphology of the samples caused by variations in the etching process were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). After samples are etched in various mixed electrolytes, FTIR analyses show that there is the non-photoluminescent state and the photoluminescent state simultaneously. The PL spectra show the PL tuning in the ranging from 560 to 700 nm with the increase of HNO$_3$ concentration. An analysis of the subsequent PL relaxation mechanism was carried out by time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) method. Based on experimental results, it is assumed that a red shift of the main PL peak position is related to the HNO$_3$ activated formation of silicon oxygen compounds. Therefore, the use of electrolyte mixtures with composition ratios can be obtained adequate and reproducible results for PL tuning.

  • 지정폐기물인 전기로 제강 분진은 현재 대부분이 매립 등 부적절하게 처리되고 있어 지하수 오염 등의 환경파괴를 일으킬 위험이 있다. 전기로 제강 분진의 자원화를 위하여 전기로 제강 분진/점토의 조성으로 다공체를 제조하였으며, 다공체의 기공 특성 분석을 하였다. 다공체는 서로 다른 두 개의 미세구조로 형성되어있으며, 표면부위의 미세구조는 치밀하고 검은색이 아니고, 내부부위는 검은색이며 다공성의 미세구조(black coring)를 갖는다. 블랙코아 부위의 면적과 경량화정도를 정량화하기 위하여 Ic(core index)와 Is(shell index)를 정의하였으며, 인공경량골재로서의 최적 경량화 조건은 Ic가 0.5이상이고, Is는 0.4이상이다.

Fabrication and Characterization of InGaN/GaN LED structures grown on selectively wet-etched porous GaN template layer

  • Much interest has been focused on InGaN-based materials and their quantum structures due to their optoelectronics applications such as light emitting diode (LED) and photovoltaic devices, because of its high thermal conductivity, high optical efficiency, and direct wide band gap, in spite of their high density of threading dislocations. Build-in internal field-induced quantum-confined Stark effect in InGaN/GaN quantum well LED structures results in a spatial separation of electrons and holes, which leads to a reduction of radiative recombination rate. Therefore, many growth techniques have been developed by utilizing lateral over-growth mode or by inserting additional layers such as patterned layer and superlattices for reducing threading dislocations and internal fields. In this work, we investigated various characteristics of InGaN multiple quantum wells (MQWs) LED structures grown on selectively wet-etched porous (SWEP) GaN template layer and compared with those grown on non-porous GaN template layer over c-plane sapphire substrates. From the surface morphology measured by atomic force microscope, high resolution X-ray diffraction analysis, low temperature photoluminescence (PL) and PL excitation measurements, good structural and optical properties were observed on both LED structures. However, InGaN MQWs LED structures grown on SWEP GaN template layer show relatively low In composition, thin well width, and blue shift of PL spectra on MQW emission. These results were explained by rough surface of template layer, reduction of residual compressive stress, and less piezoelectric field on MQWs by utilizing SWEP GaN template layer. Better electrical properties were also observed for InGaN MQWs on SWEP GaN template layer, specially at reverse operating condition for I-V measurements.

수중투과성구조물에 의한 쇄파를 수반한 파랑변형 및 유속장 해석 (Analysis of Wave Transformation and Velocity Fields Including Wave Breaking due to the Permeable Submerged Breakwaters)

  • 최근, 구조물에 의한 쇄파를 수반한 다양한 파랑변형 해석법중에 자유수면의 추적기법인 VOF법을 이용한 수치해석기법이 각광을 받고 있다. 본 연구는 수중투과성구조물(잠제)에 의한 파랑변형 및 유속장의 해석을 위해 조파를 위한 line-source와 파의 재반사를 방지하기 위한 부가감쇠영역이 설치된 2차원수치파동수조에 잠제를 설치하고 구조물에 의한 파랑변형의 자유수면 추적을 위해 VOF법을 적용하였다. 2차원수치파동수조를 이용한 본 연구의 수치해석수법의 타당성 검증을 위해 수리실험을 실시하였으며 그 결과 본 수치해석결과와 잘 일치하였다. 일열잠제와 이열잠제에 대한 수치해석을 통해 잠제 주변 유속장 해석으로부터 일열잠제의 경우 배후에서 와가 발생하고 이열잠제의 경우 잠제사이와 잠제배후에서 와가 발생함을 확인하였으며 잠제의 천단상에서는 강한 비선형성분파가 발생하고 투과층내의 유속방향은 자유수면의 형상에 의해 좌우됨을 확인하였다

Leaching 공정으로 제조한 표면 다 기공 Ti-HA 생체재료의 표면 조직 및 기계적 성질의 평가 (Evaluation of Surface Macrostructure and Mechanical Properties of Porous Surface Ti-HA Biomaterial Fabricated by a Leaching Process)

  • Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy, which is commonly used as a biomaterial, is associated with a high elastic modulus and poor biocompatibility. This alloy presents a variety of problems on several areas. Therefore, the development of good non-toxic biocompatible biomaterials with a low elastic modulus is necessary. Particularly, hydroxyapatite (HA) is an attractive material for human tissue implantation. This material is widely used as artificial bone due to its good biocompatibility and similar composition to human bone. Many scientists have studied the fabrication of HA as a biomaterial. However, applications of bulk HA compact are hindered by the low strength of HA when it is sintered. Therefore, HA has been coated on Ti or Ti alloy to facilitate good bonding between tissue and the HA surface. However, there are many problems when doing this, such as the low bonding strength between HA and Ti due to the different thermal expansion coefficients and mechanical properties. In this study, a Ti-HA composite with a porous surface was successfully fabricated by pulse current activated sintering (PCAS) and a subsequent leaching process.

잠재지문 현출용 나노 은 분말의 표면개질에 대한 연구 (A study on surface modification of Ag powder for developing latent fingerprints)

  • Ag 분말 입자형태와 크기에 따른 효율성을 확인한 결과 flake, spherical 형태의 분말은 시판 회색 분말과 현출효율이 유사하였고, nAg (rod, $0.9\;{\mu}m$) 분말의 경우 다양한 잠재지문 현출효율 평가 실험에서 우수한 결과를 보였다. 그러나 1개월간 nAg 분말을 자연조건에서 방치하였을 때 분말의 산화 및 수분의 영향으로 현출효율이 낮게 확인되어 산화 및 수분 흡습 방지를 위한 연구가 제기되었다. 본 연구는 nAg 분말의 산화 및 수분 흡습의 단점을 보완하기위해 nAg 분말에 실리콘 오일을 다양한 수준으로 표면개질하여 비다공성 대상물질 표면인 유리, 플라스틱에서 현출지문의 동일한 영역에서 특징점 수, 이랑과 분말의 흡착정도, 현출지문의 contrast 등으로 nAg 분말과 표면개질 nAg 분말의 현출효율을 평가하여 유리, 플라스틱 대상물질에서 DC200 실리콘 오일 0.5%로 표면개질한 nAg 분말의 우수함과 산화 및 수분 흡습의 단점을 보완할 수 있었다.

Elemental Mercury Adsorption Behaviors of Chemically Modified Activated Carbons

  • In this work, the effects of different surface functional groups on the elemental mercury adsorption of porous carbons modified by chemical treatments were investigated. The surface properties of the treated carbons were observed by Boehm's titration and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). It was found that the textural properties, including specific surface area and pore structures, slightly decreased after the treatments, while the oxygen content of the ACs was predominantly enhanced. Elemental mercury adsorption behaviors of the acidtreated ACs were found to be four or three times better than those of non-treated ACs or base-treated ACs, respectively. This result indicates that the different compositions of surface functional groups can lead to the high elemental mercury adsorption capacity of the ACs. In case of the acid-treated ACs, the $R_{C=O}/R_{C-O}$ and $R_{COOH}/R_{C-O}$ showed higher values than those of other samples, indicating that there is a considerable relationship between mercury adsorption and surface functional groups on the ACs.

탄소나노튜브/폴리비닐리덴 플루오라이드 복합체로부터 제조된 탄소의 탄화온도에 따른 전기화학적 특성 (Inflence of carbonization temperature on electrochemical performance of multi-walled carbon nanotube/poly(vinylidene fluoride) composite-derived carbons)

  • In this work, porous carbon based electrodes are prepared by carbonization using poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)/carbon nanotube (CNT) composites to further increase the specific capacitance for supercapacitors. Electrode materials investigate the aspects of specific capacitance, pore size distribution and surface area: influence of carbonization temperatures of PVDF/CNT composites. The electrochemical properties are investigated by cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectra, and galvanostatic charge-discharge performance with in $TEABF_4$ (tetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate)/acetonitrile as non-aqueous electrolyte. From the results, the highest value of specific capacitance of ~101 $F{\cdot}g^{-1}$ is obtained for the samples carbonized at $600^{\circ}C$. Furthermore, pore size of samples control be low 7 nm through carbonization process. It is suggested that micropores significantly contribute to the specific capacitance, resulting from improved charge transfer.
