The longitudinal changes on contents of calcium, phosphorous and magnesium of breast milk of 23 Korean lacto-ovo-vegetarians(primiparae=11, multiparae=12) at 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 months postpartum have been studied. The mean ash content of breast milk per 100ml was 0.21g in total lactating women(n=23), and it decreased significantly during lactation(p<0.05). The mean calcium, phosphorous and magnesium contents of breast milk per 100ml were 26.83mg, 14.01mg and 2.72mg, respectively. Body calcium and phosphorous contents decreased significantly during lactation(p<0.05), but magnesium content tended to increase during lactation. There were no significant differences in ash, calcium, phosphorous and magnesium contents between primiparae and multiparae. The ratio of calcium to phosphorus was about 1.95:1 in breast milk and 0.62 : 1 in maternal dietary intake. In calcium and phosphorous, no correlation was found between maternal dietary intake and the concentration in breast milk. This study suggests that the contents of calcium, phosphorous and magnesium in lacto-ovo-vegetarian breast milk are not different from the concentrations of those in non-vegetarian.
A non-phosphorous program employing an alkyl epoxy carboxylate (AEC) has been successfully applied to petrochemical and other large industrial open recirculating cooling water systems. AEC is a patented non-phosphorous calcium carbonate scale inhibitor that has demonstrated better scale inhibition abilities than traditional organic phosphonates. In addition to its antiscalant properties, AEC inhibits carbon steel corrosion when used at high dosages. AEC can be combined with zinc to form a non-phosphorous program with very low levels of phosphate to provide an environmentally acceptable program. In actual applications, the total phosphate developed in the cooling system from cycling the makeup is below 1 ppm as $PO_4$. This level has complied with the highest standards of wastewater discharge limitations. The performance of two AEC/Zinc applications is reviewed. In both cases excellent corrosion and scale control were achieved with AEC/Zinc programs. One case history details the performance with a low hardness water (100 ppm calcium, as $CaCO_3$) operating at 8-10 cycles of concentration. The corrosive nature of the water and the long retention time of the system stressed both the corrosion and scale control capabilities of the program. The second case history demonstrates the performance of the program with a moderate hardness water (400-600 ppm calcium, as $CaCO_3$), but under harsh conditions of high temperature and low flow. The AEC/zinc combination has been found to be highly effective in controlling the corrosion of ferrous metals. AEC can provide good corrosion inhibition at high concentrations, while zinc is known to be an excellent cathodic inhibitor. The combination of the two inhibitors not only provides a synergistic blend that is effective over a wide range of operating conditions, but also is environmentally friendly.
The present investigation deals to achieve an accurate determination of the phosphorous present in the wastewater samples using the membrane reactor. The study may enable to quantify the dissolved (DP) and adsorbed phosphorous (AP), also the adsorbed phosphorous categorically identified as inorganic coupled phosphorous (DRP) and organic coupled phosphorous (NRP). Moreover, the study has been conducted separately in anaerobic and aerobic chamber. The results obtained showed that dissolved phosphorous only can occur in anaerobic chamber with ca. 25%. The study conducted for adsorbed phosphorous showed that the DRP has the percent composition in anaerobic and aerobic chamber respectively 33% and 40% i.e., 7% more in aerobic chamber. The similar values obtained for NRP was found to be 42% and 60% i.e., 18% more in aerobic chamber. On the other hand while comparing the results for NRP and DRP, it has to be noted that NRP has 9% and 20% more percent composition than DRP respectively in anaerobic and aerobic chamber. Further, the adsorbed phase showed the species Al-P, Fe-P in the aerobic chamber with the quotient of 7.73 mg/g TS (total solid) whereas in the anaerobic chamber it showed the species Fe-P and $Fe(OH)_3$-P with the 7.16 mg/g TS.

High value sheet resistance (Rs' 1K-33K\ulcorner/) polysilicon resistors were fabricated using double ion implantation with boron as the major dopant and phosphorus compensation. It is observed that Rs sensitivity to the net doping concentration is decreased by one order of magnitude compared to the conventional (boron implanted)polysilicon resistors. The temperature co-efficient of resistance (TCR) measured between 25\ulcorner and 125\ulcorner shows equivalent values to those of non-compensated resistors for the same Rs. A qualitative electrical conductiion mechanism for compensated polysilicon resistor is proposed, based on the existing grain boundary charge trapping theory.
This study evaluates the water quality of the river near the alpine farmland in the upper Naerin stream, which is a typical stream of the upper Bukhan River with muddy water generation, by the flow examination, it aims to estimate the characteristics of nonpoint sources flowing out from the investigated area and figure out effective methods to reduce them. According to the result of water quality examination, the average BOD of the area not affected by the cultivated land among the areas of the upper Naerin River was 0.47mg/l, and total phosphorous was 0.007mg/l; thus, it maintained the cleanliness level of Ia. The average BOD of the area with the alpine farmland was 0.52mg/l, which was similar to the one of the non-cultivated land. But total phosphorous concentration was 0.023mg/l, which was more than three times higher than the area belonging to level II due to the effect of fertilizer ingredients discharged from the cultivated land. About the loadings of the investigated area generated from each of the pollution sources, BOD was 878.5kg/day and total phosphorous was 79.7kg/day. Moreover, for the load density, BOD was $2.22kg/day.km^2$ and total phosphorous was shown as $0.20kg/day.km^2$. Regarding the rates generated from nonpoint sources like land among the loadings per pollution sources, BOD was 54%, total nitrogen was 91%, and total phosphorous was 73.4%. Therefore, it was shown that most of the nutrients were produced from the nonpoint sources. The level of BOD runoff loading in the Jaun River area, where nonpoint sources were mainly generated, was 37.1kg/day and total phosphorous was 1.33kg/day. The flow rates to the generated amount were estimated as 10.5% and 4.7% each.

We demonstrated the thin film deposition of sodium phosphorous oxynitride (NaPON) via RF magnetron sputtering of $Na_3PO_4$, as a solid-state Na-ion conductor similar to lithium phosphorous oxynitride (LiPON), which is a commonly used solid electrolyte. The deposited NaPON thin film was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, to investigate the feasibility of the solid-state electrolyte in several different cell configurations. The key properties of a solidstate electrolyte, i.e., ionic conductivity and activation energy, were estimated from the complex non-linear least square fitting of the measured impedance spectra at various temperatures in the range of $27-90^{\circ}C$. The ionic conductivity of the NaPON film was measured to be $8.73{\times}10^{-6}S\;cm^{-1}$ at $27^{\circ}C$, which was comparable to that of the LiPON film. The activation energy was estimated to be 0.164 eV, which was lower than that of the LiPON film (0.672 eV). The obtained values encourage the use of a NaPON thin film in the future as a reasonable solid-state electrolyte.
The introduction of a significant amount of phosphorous into aquatic environments can lead to eutrophication, which can in turn result in algal blooms. For the effective management of watersheds and the prevention of water quality problems related to nonpoint organic matter (OM) sources, it is essential to pinpoint the predominant OM sources. Several potential OM sources were sampled from upper agricultural watersheds, such as fallen leaves, riparian reeds, riparian plants, paddy soil, field soil, riparian soil, cow manure, and swine manure. Stream samples were collected during two storm events, and the concentrations of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and phosphorous (DOP) from these OM sources and stream samples were assessed. DOM indicators using fluorescence spectroscopy, including HIX, FI, BIX, and EEM-PARAFAC, were evaluated in terms of their relevance in discerning DOM sources during storm events. Representative DOM descriptors were chosen based on specific criteria, such as value ranges and pronounced differences between low and high-flow periods. Consequently, the spectral slope ratio (SR) paired with fluorescence index (FI) using end-member mixing analysis (EMMA) proved to be suitable for estimating the contribution of organic carbon (OC). The contribution of each organic phosphorous (OP) in stream samples was determined using the phosphorous-to-carbon (P/C) ratio in conjunction with the OC contribution. Notably, OP derived from swine manure in stream samples was found to make the most dominant contribution, ranging from 61.3% to 94.2% (average 78.1% ± 12.7%). The results of this research offer valuable insights into the selection of suitable indicators to recognize various OM sources and highlight the main sources of OP in forested-agricultural watersheds.
This study was performed to investigate the effect of dietary dried anchovy and non-fat dried milk on serum and femur Ten months old female rats were divieded into 6 groups(ST, A-middle, A-high, M-middle, M-high, A+M), and fed the diet containing different level of food calcium for 8 weeks. The results obtained were summerized as follow: 1. The rats' weight gain were not significantly different from the fed groups, but food intake were significantly higher or lower level in the group of A-high than the other groups. 2. Serum calcium concentration was significantly increased in the A-middle group, the M-high group were significantly decreased. Serum phosphorous contents of M-high group were increased significantly higher than ST group. The serum magnesium contents were increased significantly higher than in the A-middle group. Serum iron contents of other experimental groups were significantly higher than ST group. All experimental groups were significantly lower copper contents in serum than ST group. 3. The more rats took dried anchovy and non-fat dried milk, the longer the length of femur. But this trend is not statistically difference. In the breaking force of left femur, most of all experimental group were stronger than ST group. 4. The calcium, phosphorous contents of ash, dry, wet weight of right femur in A+M group were higher than any other groups.
Management of non-point sources for water quality control practice is complicating but very important. Sediments mainly from croplands are prioritized in non-point source management due to the sediment attached phosphorous. In this study, flow and sediment yields are modeled in Oenam watershed located in Hwasun, Jeollanam-do, a upstream of Juam Lake. A spatially distributed model and GIS(Geographic Information System) data was used to find out hot spots of sediment yields, to analyze the effectiveness of filter strips, and to visualize the effectiveness. The impacts of filter strips was estimated on the reduction of flow and sediments at 17.2% and 46.4% respectively when the filter strips were installed in the sub-watersheds with the most serious sediment yields.

The impact of phosphorous (P)-doping on the electrochemical performance and surface chemistry of soft carbon is investigated by means of galvanostatic cycling and ex situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). P-doping plays an important role in storing more Li ions and discernibly improves reversible capacity. However, the discharge capacity retention of P-doped soft carbon electrodes deteriorated at $60^{\circ}C$ compared to non-doped soft carbon. This poor capacity retention could be improved by vinylene carbonate (VC) participating in forming a protective interfacial chemistry on soft carbon. In addition, the effect of P-doping on exothermic thermal reactions of lithiated soft carbon with electrolyte solution is discussed on the basis of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) results.
