  • As the COVID-19 outbreak has prolonged, social distancing movements are encouraged and non-face-to-face lifestyle trends are spreading. As a result, it is necessary for general restaurants and small marts to provide delivery services like large-scale distribution companies. Large distribution companies have also suffered significant economic losses from COVID-19 because epidemiological investigations were conducted after the distribution center was closed due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in several large domestic distribution companies. In this thesis, in order to examine whether COVID-19 actually affects distribution companies, we attempt to understand the relationship between the number of confirmed cases per month and the sales share and growth rate by categories of distribution companies.

  • Among several non-destructive testing methods, ultrasonic pulse velocity method has been widely used for the evaluation of concrete strength. However, this method might not provide accurate estimated results since factors influencing the relationship between strength and wave velocity is not considered. In this study, the evaluation methods of concrete strength using compression wave velocities measured by either ultrasonic pulse velocity method or impact-resonance method are proposed. A basic equation is obtained by the linear regression with velocity vs. strength data at a specific age and then, ageing factor is employed in the equation to consider the difference of the increasing rate between wave velocity and strength. Strengths predicted by the proposed equation agree well with test results.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the casual relationship of the background variables. 4-value orientations. 5 money spending styles and the money management behavior of high school girls. The subjects were 498 high school girls. We used Cronbach\` $\alpha$. Pearson correlation coefficients multiple regression and path analysis as statistical analysis. The results were summarized as follows Resulting from path analysis, the money spending styles were the most influential variable on money management behavior and value orientations were more influential variable on the money spending styles rather than the money management behavior. The money management behavior of high school girls had the directive linear relationships with the variables such as goal-oriented value and 4 money spending styles-security conspicuous. non-monetary and unconcerned.

  • It is common that analyses of offshore platforms being carried out with the assumption of rigid tubular joints. However, many researches have concluded that it is necessary that local joint flexibility (LJF) of tubular joints should be taken into account. Meanwhile, advanced analysis of old offshore platforms considering local joint flexibility leads to more accurate results. This paper presents an extensive finite-element (FE) based study on the flexibility of uni-planner multi-brace tubular Y-T and K-joints commonly found in offshore platforms. A wide range of geometric parameters of Y-T and K-joints in offshore practice is covered to generate reliable parametric equations for flexibility matrices. The formulas are obtained by non-linear regression analyses on the database. The proposed equations are verified against existing analytical and experimental formulations. The equations can be used reliably in global analyses of offshore structures to account for the LJF effects on overall behavior of the structure.

  • Lactation curves of dairy cows were generated using three models, namely; incomplete gamma function (model 1), polynomial inverse function (model 2) and non-linear regression (model 3). Secondary milk yield data of 27 cows which had completed 6 lactations were used in this study. Milk yield records (once a week) throughout the lactation and from the first three months of lactation were fitted to the models. Estimation of total milk yield by model 3 using the data once a week throughout the lactation resulted in smaller % bias and standard error than those generated from model 1 and 2. But, model 2 was more accurate in predicting the 305-day milk yield equivalent closer to actual yields with smaller bias % and error using partial records up to 3 months. Also, model 2 was able to estimate the time to reach peak yield close to the actual data using partial records and model 2 could be used as a tool to advise farmers on appropriate feeding and management practices to be adopted.

  • In order to evaluate the effectiveness of fuzzy reasoning to sensory tests, in this paper, a non-linear fuzzy system model that can estimate the general evaluator obtained from a numerical example of test of taste is constructed. And the applicability of fuzzy reasoning to sensory test is discussed on the basis of errors occurred from the estimates in combination of attributes of objects and from the results of multi-regression analysis. This paper proved that fuzzy reasoning using fuzzy If-then rules is applicable to sensory test.

  • A mathematical model was developed for the prediction of the average temperature and RDT(RM Delivery temperature) in a roughing mill. The model consisted of three parts as follows (1) The intermediate numerical model calculated the deformation and heat transfer phenomena in the rolling: region by steady state FEM and the heat transfer phenomena in the interpass region by unsteady state FEM (2) The Off-line prediction model was derived from non-linear regression analysis based on the results of intermediate numerical model considering the various rolling conditions, (3) Using the heat flux in rolling region, temperature profile along thickness direction was calculated. For validation of the presented model, the rolling force per pass and RDT measued in on-line process was compared with those of model and the results showed close agreement with the existing data. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model, the various rolling conditions was tested.

  • In this study, drying kinetics of onion slices was examined in a laboratory scale vacuum dryer at an air temperature in a range of $50-70^{\circ}C$. Moisture transfer from onion slices was described by applying the Fick's diffusion model, and the effective diffusivity was calculated. Temperature dependency of the effective diffusivity during drying process obeyed the Arrhenius relationship. Effective diffusivity increased with increasing temperature and the activation energy for the onion slices was estimated to be 16.92 kJ/mol. The experimental drying data were used to fit 9 drying models, and drying rate constants and coefficients of models tested were determined by non-linear regression analysis. Estimations by the page and Two-term exponential models were in good agreement with the experimental data obtained.

  • This study presents a change-point in the 30 years (1976-2005) time series of the annual and the heavy precipitation characteristics (amount, days and intensity) averaged over South Korea using Bayesian approach. The criterion for the heavy precipitation used in this study is 80 mm/day. Using non-informative priors, the exact Bayes estimators of parameters and unknown change-point are obtained. Also, the posterior probability and 90% highest posterior density credible intervals for the mean differences between before and after the change-point are examined. The results show that a single change-point in the precipitation intensity and the heavy precipitation characteristics has occurred around 1996. As the results, the precipitation intensity and heavy precipitation characteristics have clearly increased after the change-point. However, the annual precipitation amount and days show a statistically insignificant single change-point model. These results are consistent with earlier works based on a simple linear regression model.

  • The characteristics of fatigue life distribution for Carbon/epoxy composite laminates was investigated under tension-tension loading(R=0.1). The statistical nature of the fatigue life of the composite materials was analyzed by Weibull, normal, lognormal distributions As a result, it was observed that the correlation between the experimental results and the theoretical predictions for the fatigue life is good. The distribution of the static ultimate strength has the characteristic of lognormal distribution and distribution of the fatigue life has characteristics of the weibull distribution.
