  • A theoretical model was developed to compute the effect of a bubble layer in reducing the radiation noise generated by a force applied on an infinite flat plate considering the noise of multi-bubbles. Using the model, the effectiveness of a bubble layer in reducing the structure-borne noise of the plate was evaluated to consider various parameters such as the source noise levels, the thickness of bubble layers, the volume fractions and the frequency characteristics of bubbly fluids. Considering the noise of multi-bubbles, the actual reduction effect of radiation noise using a bubble layer was expected in cases of high source levels, high volume fractions of bubbles and large thickness of the bubble layer above the resonance frequency of the bubble layer. Accordingly, it is recommended that the thickness of a bubble layer, the source noise level and the characteristics of bubbly fluids should be optimized cautiously to maximize noise reduction effects.

  • This work focuses on finding out the noise source and the method of reducing the noise level of LPG(liquefied petroleum gas) fuel injector. The noise of LPG injector in operating condition is due to the impact between valve and valve seat. This study shows that if the revolution of engine is increased, the noise of LPG injector will be more serious but it is not nearly affected by the increment of fuel pressure. The source and transmission paths of noise are identified through the analysis of noise generation mechanism and noise spectrum. The sound absorbing material is tested to verify its efficiency of sound absorption thor the LPG injector. The effect of noise reduction of absorbing material is remarkable when the engine speed is high. Consequently two methods of reducing the noise level are suggested from the identified results. The one is to equip the absorbing material on the outer side of injector and the other is to coat with a soft material or equip a soft ring on the surface of impact.

  • Principal component analysis(PCA) and neural network(NN) are used in reducing external noise in magnetocadiography. The PCA technique turns out to be very effective in reducing pulse noise in some SQUID channels and the NN find noise component automatically. Some experimental results obtained from 61 channel MCG system are shown.

  • The performance of sound barriers was evaluated to determine their technical effectiveness and practicality in reducing noise exposures to operating engineers in construction. Commercially purchased sound dampening mats (SDMats) were installed inside three heavy-equipment engine compartments. Sound pressure levels (SPLs) were measured before and after installing the SDMats while the equipment was on idle and full-throttle settings where it normally operates. SPLs inside the heavy-equipment operator cabs were significantly reduced by 5.6-7.6 dBA on the full-throttle setting following installation of the SDMats (p < 0.01). The evaluated engineering control intervention was simple to install, affordable, and substantially reduced the engine noise reaching the heavy-equipment operator, potentially reducing reliance on hearing-protection devices to protect construction workers from noise exposures.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 400km/h 급 고속철도 소음저감용 방음벽 상단장치를 개발하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 우선 현장에서의 소음측정을 통한 400km/h 급 고속철도(HEMU) 및 300km/h 급 KTX의 주파수특성을 분석하였다. 그리고, 해석적 기법(BEM) 및 시작품 제작을 통한 실내실험을 수행하여 3dB(A) 이상의 소음을 저감시킬 수 있는 상단장치를 설계하였다. 마지막으로, 상단장치 시작품을 제작하여 옥외시험실에서의 성능시험을 수행하였으며, 고속철도의 주파수특성을 반영한 상단장치 설치 전후의 감음량을 평가하였다.

Over blur를 감소시킨 Deep CNN 구현 (Implementation of Deep CNN denoiser for Reducing Over blur)

  • 본 논문에서, Gaussian noise를 제거할 때 발생하는 over blurring 현상을 감소시키는 network를 구현하였다. 기존 filtering 방식은 원 영상을 blurring하여 noise를 제거함으로써, edge나 corner 같은 high frequency 성분도 함께 지워지는 것을 확인할 수 있다. CNN (Convolutional Neural Network)기반 denoiser의 경우도 사소한 edge, keypoint를 noise로 인식하여 이러한 정보를 잃게 된다. 우리는 CNN을 기반으로 denoising된 high frequency 성분만을 획득하여 기존 denoiser에 추가함으로써 denoising 성능을 유지하면서 over blurring을 완화하는 network 제안한다.

  • The method of the reducing duct noise can be classified by passive and active control techniques. However, passive control has a limited effect of noise reduction at low frequencies (below 500Hz) and is limited by the space. On the other hand, active control can overcome these passive control limitations. The active control technique mostly uses the Least-Mean-Square (LMS) algorithm, because the LMS algorithm can easily obtain the complex transfer function in real-time particularly when the Filtered-X LMS (FXLMS) algorithm is applied to an active noise control (ANC) system. However, the convergence performance of the LMS algorithm decreases slightly so it may delay the convergence time when the FXLMS algorithm is applied to the active control of duct noise. Thus the Co-FXLMS algorithm was developed to improve the control performance in order to solve this problem. The Co-FXLMS algorithm is realized by using an estimate of the cross correlation between the adaptation error and the filtered input signal to control the step size. In this paper, the performance of the Co-FXLMS algorithm is presented in comparison with the FXLMS algorithm. Simulation results show that active noise control using Co-FXLMS is effective in reducing duct noise.

구조-유체 연성해석을 통한 수도용 감압밸브에서의 유체유발진동에 관한 연구 (Study on Vibration Induced by Fluid at a Water Pressure Reducing Valve through Structure-Fluid Coupled Analysis)

  • 본 논문에서는 수도용 감압밸브에서의 유체유발진동의 원인을 파악하기 위한 위하여 구조-유체 연성 해석을 수행하였다. 감압밸브의 소음을 측정한 결과 250Hz의 저주파 대역의 소음이 있음을 확인하였다. 상용 소프트웨어인 ANSYS/CFX를 사용하여 유체의 유동 해석을 수행한 결과, 감압밸브 내에서 노즐 효과에 의하여 40m/s 정도의 유속이 형성되고, 이에 따라 감압밸브 내에 부압이 발생하였다. 밸브 내에 형성된 유동에 의한 압력 분포를 하중 조건으로 구조해석을 한 결과, 유로를 막을 수 있을 정도의 고무 재질인 디스크의 변형이 발생하였다. 이러한 디스크의 변형이 반복적으로 일어남으로써 소음진동현상이 발생함을 확인하였다.

  • Turbo-charger noise radiated from air intake part is one of the most important noise sources in diesel power plant. In this paper, intake noise control of the diesel power plant was studied using parallel baffle type silencer and concentric hole-cavity resonator simultaneously. Firstly, acoustical characteristics and attenuation performance for parallel baffle type silencer were investigated through theoretical approach and experimental method. Based on the results, optimal design of the parallel baffle silencer was suggested. Secondly, for reducing the low frequency noise contained in the intake noise, the concentric hole-type resonator was developed and the acoustic performance was verified from the test. By combining two types of silencers, it is expected that the overall insertion loss is about 50 dB. So, the combined silencer is very helpful in reducing the intake noise of diesel power plant.
