This paper addresses a new passive target tracking problem using the range differences measured by cooperative UAVs. In order to solve the range difference based passive target tracking problem within the framework of linear robust state estimation, the uncertain linear measurement model which contains the stochastic parameter uncertainty is derived by using the noisy range difference measurements. To cope with the performance degradation due to the stochastic parameter uncertainty, the recently developed non-conservative robust Kalman filtering technique [1] is applied. For the cruciform formation flying UAVs, the relationship between the target tracking performance and the measurement errors is quantitatively analyzed. The proposed filter has practical advantages over the classical nonlinear filters because, for its recursive linear structure, it can provide satisfactory convergence properties and is suitable for real-time multiple UAVs applications. Through the simulations, the usefulness of the proposed method is demonstrated.
This paper proposes a new linear recursive target state estimator for automotive collision warning system. The target motion is modeled in Cartesian coordinate system while the radar measurements such as range, line-of-sight angle and range rate are obtained in polar coordinate system. To solve the problem by nonlinear relation between these two coordinate system, a practical linear filter design scheme employing the predicted line-of-sight Cartesian coordinate system (PLCCS) is proposed. Especially, PLCCS can effectively incorporate range rate measurements into target tracking system. It is known that the utilization of range rate measurements enables the improvement of target tracking performance. Moreover, PLCCS based target tracking system is implemented by linear recursive filter structure and hence is more suitable scheme for the development of reliable collision warning system. The performance of the proposed method is demonstrated by computer simulations.
When the new ammunition is designed, it is necessary to confirm in advance how long the target distance is depends on the shape and weight of the designed ammunition. Therefore we can use commercial software such as PRODAS to predict the target distance in the design stage. This commercial software has aerodynamic data for various ammunition shape and calculates the target range by calculating the kinetic equations of the ammunition using the aerodynamic data most similar to the designed ammunition. The ammunition for predicting the target distance through software such as PRODAS is a non-guided ammunition that has no control after launch but the glide type ammunition is guided and control ammunition. So it is predicts the state of ammunition after the launch. A new type of simulator is needed to analyze the maximum range and to verify the onboard guided and control algorithm. The simulator constructed in this paper is an optimized simulator for glide type ammunition. Unlike unmanned aircraft and guided missiles. The rotation characteristics of the ammunition are considered and the navigation initialization algorithm is applied. The constructed simulator confirmed the performance by performing maximum range analysis of glide type ammunition.
In this article, we propose a new protocol at fast scan mode for a sea-surface small target detection. The conventional fast scan mode is composed of coherent intrascan integration to suppress sea clutter and non-coherent interscan integration to exclude sea spikes. The proposed method realizes the coherent interscan integration by the new Fourier relationship between carrier-frequency and initial-radial-range, which can be analytically derived by using multiple carrier frequencies at fast scan mode, leading to improved detection performance, compared to the conventional non-coherent methods. In simulations, our proposed method is verified.

A new laser diode range-finding speedometer is proposed, which is modulated by a pair of positive and negative triangular pulse current superimposed on a dc current. Since a target velocity is directly obtained form a pure Doppler beat frequency measured during the non-modulation period, the new sensor is free from the difficulties due to the critical velocity encountered in the previous sensor. Furthermore, the different amplitude of the two triangular pluses are so adjusted that the measurable range using only one laser head is greatly expanded to 10cm through 150cm, which is about two times that of the previous sensor. The measurement accuracy for velocity of .+-.6mm/s through .+-.20mm/s and for range is about 1%, and 2%, respectively. Because the new sensor can be operated automatically using a microcomputer, it will be useful for application of a 3-D range image measurement of a slowly moving object.
The pulse compression technique using Linear FM signal is commonly used for improving the performance of both the detection range and range resolution in radar system. In general, the compressed LFM waveform has relatively large sidelobe level which may prevent a target from being detected when strong jammer or clutter signal is near the target signal. In this paper, we propose a new weighting method which uses the square-root weight to suppress the sidelobe level. Typical applications are missile seekers and tracking radar systems where target tracking range is available prior to the signal processing. By computer simulation, we show that the performance of the proposed method is better than that of the conventional weighting methods in terms of sidelobe suppression.
A modular platform development technique was proposed to minimize development cost and development period by utilizing the already developed unmanned Aerial target AVT, which has been operated and verified for many years. New Mission Profile was designed and structural analysis was performed through finite element analysis (FEA) by analyzing mission requirements for visual short-range, non-visible mid-range, and long-range targets. The targets are used for guided missile anti-aircraft training. In addition, avionics systems including flight control computers for autonomous flights were developed to verify their conformance by performing launcher take-off tests with rapid acceleration changes and autonomous flight tests at a maximum speed of 300km per hour.
In 2009, American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy (AJHP) recommended that targeting vancomycin trough concentrations of 10 mg/L or more because of therapeutic failure and potential risk of developing vancomycin resistance. Therefore, new dosage guidelines that could achieve to these higher target were needed. The aims of this study were to develop dosage guidelines targeting new vancomycin trough concentration and to evaluate the performance of these new guidelines. All data analysis were performed using NONMEM(R). Population pharmacokinetic model was first developed from vancomycin dosage and concentration data collected retrospectively during routine therapeutic drug monitoring in 441 patients, then new vancomycin dosage guidelines were developed by using the model to predict vancomycin trough and peak concentrations in a simulated dataset. The estimates, such as, vancomycin concentration trough level, time to achieve target level, mean error were performed to evaluate and compare difference between conventional dosage and new dosage guidelines. The proposed dosage guidelines were predicted to achieve 43.5% of vancomycin trough level within 10~20 mg/L, which is significantly higher than current guidelines (26.3%). Time to achieve target trough level was 19.4 hours in new guidelines comparing to 93.1 hours in the conventional dosage. Thus, new vancomycin dosage guidelines have been developed to achieve new target trough concentrations earlier and more consistently than conventional guidelines.
In this paper, the range difference based the moving target tracking problem using multiple UAVs is solved within the new framework of linear robust state estimation. To do this, the relative kinematics is modeled as an uncertain linear system containing stochastic parametric uncertainties in its measurement matrix. Applying the non-conservative robust Kalman filter for the uncertain system, a quasi-optimal linear target tracking filter is designed. For its recursive linear filter structure, the proposed method can ensure the fast convergence and reliable target tracking performance. Moreover, it is suitable for real-time applications using multiple UAVs.
In this paper, we propose a novel tracking method using target separation and detection that are based on discriminative correlation filter (DCF), which is studied a lot recently. 'Retainability' is one of the most important factor of tracking. There are some factors making retainability of tracking worse. Especially, fast movement and occlusion of a target frequently occur in image data, and when it happens, it would make target lost. As a result, the tracking cannot be retained. For maintaining a robust tracking, in this paper, separation of a target is used so that normal tracking is maintained even though some part of a target is occluded. The detection algorithm is executed and find new location of the target when the target gets out of tracking range due to occlusion of whole part of a target or fast movement speed of a target. A variety of experiments with various image data sets are conducted. The algorithm proposed in this paper showed better performance than other conventional algorithms when fast movement and occlusion of a target occur.
